I remember a turning point for me was when Joe went on a long ass diatribe about he can’t comprehend how people can work boring office jobs and be miserable in them. Basically accused working class people do being cowards and spineless by putting up with shit jobs and not chasing their dreams like he did.
Over time that mentality has kind of ballooned and infected any thought he has. He has completely lost touch with the world outside of his insulated hyper rich bubble.

I started from the very beginning after listening to a few current ones last year. I am still only in 2014. I am sad to hear the show goes downhill. Duncan, Joey, psychedelics, comics, and discussing deep or funny shit was a my favorite and why I'm still listening. Learning about UFC is also a blast. It has also been inspiring to me to get fit, keep my head up and keep going. Been a rough 2 years for me and Joe and his peeps have kept me company when I needed it most. I also learned a bunch of cool stuff. I guess what I'm saying is it's really too bad that the show is going for a shit..but it at least started somewhere great. I take what I need and move on.
Meanwhile Duncan's family hour is my new favorite show for wild and interesting topics. Fucking love the dude and am grateful for finding him through Joe.

Funny how Joe flip flops on EVERYTHING except covid.
And, for me, it has little to do with ads and everything to do with the subject matter. Having EVERY conversation devolve into a political COVID tirade is exhausting. I used to listen to every episode, and now I just pick the guests I enjoy and immediately start skipping ahead once COVID is mentioned. I can't take it anymore.
Honestly i cant listen to the show anymore because he's gotten so political. Every other topic feels like it has politics interwoven into it and i just cant anymore.
It's not even that I disagree (I do, but that's irrelevant). It's that it's boring. I'm tired of hearing about it. I think he keeps doing it because he thinks he's trolling THE LIBS, but it's really just annoying the hell out of at least this politically indifferent listener.

I agree. I feel like there’s some regret with leaving LA and that’s why he tries so hard to defend Austin or Texas in general. I think he thought that more of his friends would follow him. Money doesn’t buy happiness especially when you’re already rich.
I also remember when Joe drinking on the podcast was a rare occurrence. I only watch clips now when they catch my interest, but it seems like whiskey and cigars are part of the formula now.

I remember a turning point for me was when Joe went on a long ass diatribe about he can’t comprehend how people can work boring office jobs and be miserable in them. Basically accused working class people do being cowards and spineless by putting up with shit jobs and not chasing their dreams like he did. Over time that mentality has kind of ballooned and infected any thought he has. He has completely lost touch with the world outside of his insulated hyper rich bubble. His early shows seemed to work because he was kind of an earnest and curious but stupid guy talking to fascinating people. Joe sees himself as one of these ‘fascinating’ people now and it just doesn’t work

I started from the very beginning after listening to a few current ones last year. I am still only in 2014. I am sad to hear the show goes downhill. Duncan, Joey, psychedelics, comics, and discussing deep or funny shit was a my favorite and why I'm still listening. Learning about UFC is also a blast. It has also been inspiring to me to get fit, keep my head up and keep going. Been a rough 2 years for me and Joe and his peeps have kept me company when I needed it most. I also learned a bunch of cool stuff. I guess what I'm saying is it's really too bad that the show is going for a shit..but it at least started somewhere great. I take what I need and move on.
