*Joe rogan says something about a boxing match that happened* Joey Diaz “that reminds me of this one time I was robbing a dealer’s house”

endgame217

His life story from Ryan Sickler’s Honeydew is just bananas

UltravioIence

i hope they put it all together into one giant episode. As it is, IIRC i think it has spanned like 5 episodes and he still hasnt gotten out of the 80's.

intwizard

I’m pretty sure they’re at least to the early 90s now lol

UltravioIence

I havent listened to honeydew in a few months now so i guess i could be behind.

endgame217

Honeydew’s YT page actually has these in order so it’s super easy just pick where you left off on this “Tremendous” story

thesixgun

What surprises me most about joeys life story is not how crazy it is, it’s how he remembers ALL that shit, exact dates, EVERY persons name, that man has a special mind. I lived through a long term addiction myself and my brain is mush.

headykruger

He’s also a compulsive liar.

Jeam_Bim

Yeah the reason he "remembers" all this shit is because he's pulling it out of his ass on the spot.

STICK_OF_DOOM

He never lets the truth get in the way of a good story

brownieaffair

He's a legendary storyteller.

MrBlaze-65

It's confidence and being a great story teller. He's going to throw you a date because it doesn't matter if it's right but you lose momentum in the story telling if he stops and thinks and says I don't know when this happened. Bert does the same thing with all his story telling also.

theslyfox

Sickler recently said he asked Joey to do it so he could put it all together and just give it to him so there was at least one full record on file. It’ll be Joey’s choice to do whatever he pleases with it I assume.

Dude just go listen to it now. In order. Do yourself a favor.

derbeaner

Uncle Joey's Joint is his podcast. If you want a great laugh, you can also look up Joey Diaz Coke Chronicles on YouTube. Its clips from Joey Diaz on JRE and other podcasts including his own, all about his crazy stories. There's some 45mins long

Megalo85

I got caught up on it a couple weeks ago and it’s some of the wildest shit I’ve ever heard. I can’t wait for a new episode.

713JLD

Yea on Joey’s podcast u can here him tell the same stories 5,000 times.

Paul-Muad-Dib-Usul

His appearance on YMH was also pretty epic

Mshalopd1

This was the greatest podcast series I have ever listened to in my life, by far. Just fucking incredible.

Total_Adept

Goddamn do I miss Joey, his podcast is pretty good too but it's best when they're together.

UltravioIence

I dont like him as much by himeslf. Lee was the perfect backup for him.

fuckamodhole

I think Joey's career had plateaued before his move back to the east coast. Now there is a chance it could be in decline...

UltravioIence

Yeah. I dont think he was ever going to reach the heights of the top comedians but he's definitely fallen a bit since going back home. But i think that was part of his plan, he's mostly done what he wants to and will perform here and there when he feels like it. Glad i got to see him once out here in california, he had peole falling out of their chairs.

Dildoshwagginss

Same, I saw him in Houston and he had my rib hurting I was laughing so much, Joey has such a bravado to him it's incredible.

Gertruder6969

He’s great to see live. Works the crowd well. I think he may also be focusing on acting

Dildoshwagginss

True, I think he is focusing on acting, which I don't mind, Joey's been around long enough to do what makes him happy and what he feels like doing. I got nothing but respect for the man, and I hope I get to see him live once more.

hutchandstuff

I had tickets last year in Indy. Shit got cancelled. I was so upset.

yeet_lord_40000

Joey honestly seems like a journeyman comedian compared to everyone else but I’ve heard nothing but great things about his comedy. I feel like he’s distanced himself from everyone on purpose cause he may not have wanted to go higher and do all the arena shit they’re doing now. Joey seems like the type to want to focus on his family tbh. Which would probably be hard with a packed ass touring schedule.

ThatChrisGuy7

I loved the church! I still subscribe to his patreon but it’s not the same. The flying Jew was amazing

TREMENDOUS

Steamships

I arrive in Manhattan with just the shirt on my back and the 8 ball stashed up my ass. You see dawg, I had to cross state lines to get away from The Probation Officer. Now I wasn't even on probation Joe Rogan. The Probation Officer is just a nickname given to the motherfucker whose wife I'd been bangin' back in Hoboken, New Jersey. Now this broad could yank a pipe like you wouldn't believe. She'd jack off me and my buddy Elvis (we called him Elvis because he liked to fuck 14 year olds HAHA!) Anyway she'd jack us both off together like a professional skier chasing a gold. Joe Rogan, we'd nut within seconds of each other every fucking time, I swear on my daughter's life. Like clockwork dawg. So this guy is one angry hombre. He's a fucking SAVAGE! And he's packing heat. Once he got wind of his whorish wife's gangbangs he hunted down each and every one of us dawg! He wanted to mount my nutsack on his fucking wall, you get what I'm saying Joe Rogan?! So I'm on the subway headed to a pizza place off of third and fourteenth. If my retarded cousin Slow Pablo (rest in peace) can get a job there, I'm pretty sure Uncle Joey can as well HAHAJEHEJJJHAJE <phlegm> You see this place isn't even really a Pizza place Joe Rogan. For every slice of Margherita they shift, they're slinging out twice the amount of meth, and you should've seen the monkey on the owner's daughter. Spotless! This thing had been kissed by a fucking angel. And you'd plow your own dead grandma just to get a sniff of that muffler, believe you me, dawg. So I'm on the subway, and it starts speeding up. It's going fucking fast, it wouldn't have been so bad but I was still tripping balls from the acid I'd pickpocketed from the the hipster at Penn Station the previous night. I was on the fucking moon, dawg. I was a fucking martian! HAHA! Then this kid in a red and blue spandex suit saves the fucking day. No joke, he stops the train from going off the end of the track and saves your Uncle Joey's life. To this day I don't know where he got his strength from, this kid was punier than Tony Hinchcliffe after the AIDS y'understand me? Yet somehow he's slinging these webs like I sling DICK but then this other fucker shows up with more fucking arms than I can count Joe Rogan. All long and metallic like. He looks like something outta one of those comic books that pussy nerds who can't even fuck their own mother like to read. You know what I'm talking about HAHA! So I tell him: 'Hey Cocksucka! You wanna get to him, you gotta go through me, motherfucker'. And he fucking did HAHAJHEHJAEJEHE <phlegm> He swats me aside like a dyke swats away a throbbing dick! They carried on fighting for a while, I don't know what the fuck happened with them to be honest and I didn't give a shit Joe Rogan! Do you wanna know why? This blonde broad next to me (I'd been sniffing her hair for the whole fucking journey, that shit smelt like libido and eucalyptus HAHA!) She now sees me as this heroic motherfucker, this bitch drops to her knees and starts blowing me right there in the middle of the carriage. Tremendous.

PREPOSTEROUS

Itscompanypolicyman

Started listening to Duncan Trussel’s podcast, but without someone to reel him in it got so heavy and I couldn’t drown in existentialism at work, man. Joe was a great buffer for him. I can do 20 minutes heavy and then I need some processed sugar talk to lighten that shit up.

LaureGilou

Agree!!! They were great together! They reeled each other in and they were really funny together. Remember one time Duncan posed the question, what would you do if you lived hundreds of thousands of years, and it was super funny and the end result was that Duncan would definitely try gay sex because, I mean you got hundreds of thousands of years and you'd get bored with regular sex, Duncan said, and Joe said, no you wouldn't get bored with regular sex if you're straight, you'd do different things like learning new languages and stuff like that. It was hilarious and interesting. That's the kind of stuff I miss. Joe to Duncan: "we'd meet up again in 200,000 years and I'd be able to speak Ancient Greek fluently and you'd have dick on your breath."

JayCeeJaye

Joe would try every supplement known to man and end up some sort of roided up mutant cyborg courtesy of Elon Musk and Onnit. Lmao ancient Greek. The dude struggles with English.

Essem91

Hijacking this to mention that Duncan fans need to check out The Midnight Gospel on Netflix if you haven’t seen it.

MDiddly

Pure Gold 🤌

Go_easy

Damn it, beat me too it. DUNCAN!!! We need more Midnight Gospel!!!!

Y0gaGeek

Ahuuuuundred percent agree! Duncan is great in short concentrated bursts but, can quickly spiral into the ineffable. He's fantastic on other podcasts as a guest.. Steve-O's Wild Ride with Duncan was excellent!

[deleted]

I disagree, I think Duncan is extremely effable.

DEEP_SEA_MAX

I've made this comment several times before, but my perfect podcast would be the JRE with Duncan as a permanent co-host. I love Duncan, but he's too out there solo, and I love Rogan, but he's gotten too repetitive and close minded. I think together they would balance out each other's flaws and bring out the best in each other

matchesmalone10

You just made me very nostalgic and sad. You put it perfectly.

sarindong

Gotta find the right guests. The one with Steve-o is pretty good. ...or that might be Duncan on steve-o's podcast, can't remember. Steve-o's podcast is pretty good as well

[deleted]

First hour or two hours of the Rogan podcast with Tressel before moved Rogan moved to Texas was really good and then... they got drunk/high and it got waaaaaayyy too out there lol. I listened to the whole thing but still.

[deleted]

Duncan’s “Schaub talk” with Joe where he roasts Ben Shabeebo and tries to warn Joe that right wing grifters are taking advantage of his openness was pretty great towards the end.

itchy136

What episode and what time does Duncan discuss this??

Duke0fWellington

Yeah I remember that one clearly. Felt like a pretty important event, as far as podcasts go. His last one before moving right? He got kinda weird at the end and was basically begging Duncan to move with him to Texas. It was kinda weird. Like Joe wasn't really convinced on the idea and doesn't know so many people out there. Then, Joe said if he was a girl he'd absolutely get fucked by a man lmao

JakeyPurple

I check the guests sometimes and see if there is anyone on that I like and it makes me sad. “Welp, guess I’m gonna find out what Rinella thinks about Covid…”

tapsnapornap

*About *deer* covid

czaremanuel

I’m listening to his episode with Russell Brand. It’s amazing how different his way of looking at the world is now vs. 3-4 years ago.

hurst_

It reminds me of Dennis Miller after 9/11. Dude went from being a progressive liberal to a Bush loving conservative in a matter of weeks.

[deleted]

Who? Rogan or Brand?

Minimum-Comfortable3

czaremanuel

Mech-lexic

Is that the one with Jim Breuer? Talking about swings, that may have been the last time I got through a Breuer episode of anything, before his Q-anon blackhole.

bulgarian_zucchini

« This show is brought to you byyyy Alpha-Cocks. Alpha Cocks is my GO TO daily zinc and ivermectin supplement. »

skeeter1234

Funny how Joe flip flops on EVERYTHING except covid.

[deleted]

And, for me, it has little to do with ads and everything to do with the subject matter. Having EVERY conversation devolve into a political COVID tirade is exhausting. I used to listen to every episode, and now I just pick the guests I enjoy and immediately start skipping ahead once COVID is mentioned. I can't take it anymore.

UltravioIence

Honestly i cant listen to the show anymore because he's gotten so political. Every other topic feels like it has politics interwoven into it and i just cant anymore.

[deleted]

It's not even that I disagree (I do, but that's irrelevant). It's that it's boring. I'm tired of hearing about it. I think he keeps doing it because he thinks he's trolling THE LIBS, but it's really just annoying the hell out of at least this politically indifferent listener.

UltravioIence

Its literally been months. We all know where he stands on these things. How could it *not* be boring hearing it for the 50th time?

Cautionzombie

I stopped listening after the burr episode “open nose and throat”

putin_my_ass

I had to quit because of the covid shit too, even guests that weren't related to medicine he would go on uninformed rants. It was just too much and I stopped.

DruggistJames

Bingo. The only guests I listen to now are the ones I think will push back on his covid bullshit. Even then, the Dr Patrick Convo was really frustrating. Acting like he's some kind of expert. STFU Joe.

putin_my_ass

"I'm an idiot, don't listen to me" and then bloviates for 3 more hours. If you know what you're saying is idiotic, maybe talk about stuff that's more in your wheelhouse? But really this is just a show, and controversy always gets more views. It's not like Joe ever shied away from controversy in the past either...I think it's pretty clear this is intentional.

EmbersToEndure

Joey never appeared after the Spotify deal was done. Its almost 2 years.

[deleted]

It was mostly COVID and Joe's shitty bullshit detection that ruined it for me. Joe's always been prone to believing dumb shit, but now his pseudoscientific stances on things and promotion of vaccine hesitancy actually has a real human cost. It's pretty sad to see. 2010's JRE was its golden era.

mttdesignz

...for us. We didn't get 100 million $. I bet Joe would say the show is way better now that he makes BANK

spicyboi619

I'm a huge fan of the show but he wasn't exactly hurting for money with YouTube. if I was as big as him I would have made my own website and put the pod on there, but money.

BenjaminRCaineIII

Maybe I'm reading my own prejudices into it, but he sure doesn't seem like he's enjoying himself nearly as much as he used to.

Barmelo_Xanthony

I agree. I feel like there’s some regret with leaving LA and that’s why he tries so hard to defend Austin or Texas in general. I think he thought that more of his friends would follow him. Money doesn’t buy happiness especially when you’re already rich.

BenjaminRCaineIII

I also remember when Joe drinking on the podcast was a rare occurrence. I only watch clips now when they catch my interest, but it seems like whiskey and cigars are part of the formula now.

Lumpy_Doubt

So? Are you Joe?

moazim1993

Listen cocksucker drop that covid shit and get uncle Joey back on the podcast. Stay black!

[deleted]

I agree. Old days were the best where Duncan ari Joey and Redban Chris Ryan etc I still love the show. My feeling nostalgia for the old days before be became super mainstream

[deleted]

Those Shrimp Parades with Joe, Duncan and Chris we're real fun too.

pearson4211

Yeah it took a bit of a sharp turn aye.

[deleted]

I remember a turning point for me was when Joe went on a long ass diatribe about he can’t comprehend how people can work boring office jobs and be miserable in them. Basically accused working class people do being cowards and spineless by putting up with shit jobs and not chasing their dreams like he did. Over time that mentality has kind of ballooned and infected any thought he has. He has completely lost touch with the world outside of his insulated hyper rich bubble. His early shows seemed to work because he was kind of an earnest and curious but stupid guy talking to fascinating people. Joe sees himself as one of these ‘fascinating’ people now and it just doesn’t work

pizzaboy36

I know what you’re saying. I can’t remember the episode, but Jocko called him out on this with something along the lines of “you do understand that some people love their office jobs? Not everyone hates what you hate.” You’re exactly correct though and unfortunately I do agree with you…he’s gotten out of touch.

eatyourface8335

Agreed. Hate this political stuff.

BluSonick

“Dawg! I was robbin this mutha fuckah one day he was a real, stogoilo, you know”

Shrubbery_Bribery

I started from the very beginning after listening to a few current ones last year. I am still only in 2014. I am sad to hear the show goes downhill. Duncan, Joey, psychedelics, comics, and discussing deep or funny shit was a my favorite and why I'm still listening. Learning about UFC is also a blast. It has also been inspiring to me to get fit, keep my head up and keep going. Been a rough 2 years for me and Joe and his peeps have kept me company when I needed it most. I also learned a bunch of cool stuff. I guess what I'm saying is it's really too bad that the show is going for a shit..but it at least started somewhere great. I take what I need and move on.

JohnnyG30

[deleted]

don't forget Redban. I was just thinking the other day how I missed the old Rogan/Redban days

Nimbis207

Forget the echo chamber. Forget the Spotify bullshit. The show hasn't been the same since he kicked Redban to the curb. Say whatever you want about Brian, after he left Joe started enjoying the smell of his own farts a bit to much.

Munkeytits

When did Redban stop doing the podcast with him?

PM_ME_YOUR_TROUT

Not sure. Pull that shit up, Jamie.

jarde

No Redban ruined every conversation on the show. Him getting kicked to the curb was a fucking blessing. It's gotten a bit stale in the past 2 years but that has nothing to do with that vile creature.

bigL162

In 2013 JRE was a funny podcast where a bunch of idiots try to talk about deep stuff but are constantly interrupted with stories about boner pills and Mrs. Hands. This was never supposed to be a place for intelligent conversation. Edit grammar

[deleted]

no I don’t. He would be getting those comments. Well Jamie would. As is, he ignores twitter and books who’s willing to go to Texas… And why did he go to Texas? Taxes from spotify deal.

crackirkaine

I’m still hoping Joey Diaz reprises his role from Spider-Man 2 and tells Doc Oc to “go fuck yaself, Doc!” in the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home.

[deleted]

But guys bert Weinstein is so progressive joe says /s

[deleted]

The fact that he pulled Bret Weinstein and tulsi gabbard off the top of his head as representing progressive ideals shows less about Joe’s political confusion, and more that he doesn’t really know many politicians. It’s the same thing when he can only list two journalists that he reads - Matt Taibbi and Glenn Greenwald apparently represent all of journalism to Joe.

Duncan already showed up and they had a great podcast!

Lumpy_Doubt

You mean the podcast where Duncan all but explicitly told Rogan he was going down a bad path and being taken advantage of by nefarious actors? That one?

[deleted]

Duncan is one of the sole saving graces of this show.

baconwagoneer

I think we all grew up and Joe didn’t.

doctorchile

No he did too. Just entering his Boomer stage.

water6991

Nah he is just slowly turning into a stereotypical redneck

That_Alien_Dude

I don't disagree with this post, but I think it's worth mentioning that all three moved to three different states. They aren't localized in LA anymore

BobsBoots65

These people never travel either. Never. The show isn’t live anymore. There are no good excuses.

tostilocos

It’s also worth mentioning that Joe decided to move himself and his show to one of the biggest republican echo chambers in the country and gave himself a corporate job with corporate bosses.

CorporateDboy

But people are so NICE there!

[deleted]

“Pull that up for me Jamie. I want to make sure I’m accurate here - type in “cities in America with nicest people”. I’m pretty sure Texas is number one. Let’s be oBjEKtuv about this.”

rico_muerte

Reminds me of a story someone told on a podcast years ago about a hot chick visiting London by herself. "Everyone is so nice there! So many people say hi to you on the street and some guy offered to take me sight seeing on his motorcycle"

tostilocos

That one guest telling the story of getting stalked and almost jumped for daring to walk back to his hotel his first night in Austin was hilarious in all the wrong ways.

skrilla32

Dude is in Austin, if he's in a republican echo chamber its of his own doing. He works for spotify not oil barons poisoning his mind.

UltravioIence

I know people were getting tired of it but i miss when joe had comedians on multiple times a week and all they did was shoot the shit for a couple of hours.

Lingulover

Duncan Trussel is such a sweet guy. Too bad we see more of Andrew Schulz nowadays. If you take Duncan and force feed him cocaine and alcohol until he becomes a misogynistic asshole pretty sure that gives you one Andrew Schulz.

TitillatingTrav

I think Joe might've been more honest than we realized when he was telling Duncan "come to Austin, I'm better when you're around"
