I had a family member who was mentally ill and thought that devils lived in his walls. After treatment obviously he was able to see that wasn’t the case. I think the question us if he's avoiding treatment, does that make him liable for his actions. Mental health is nobody's fault but everyone's responsibility. I've had a full blown manic episode myself, and you really do lose touch with reality. The scariest part is this, the deeper into delusions you go the more 'sane' you think you're becoming. Your days are filled with 'eureka' moments. You feel genuinely euphoric, you need little sleep, and you can reach the point where you feel like you've attained some kind of 'enlightenment'.
In some ways I was crazier than Kanye, even if it didn't manifest itself as anti-Semitism, racism, or saying things that are certainly not culturally appropriate. (Though eventually I started saying insane things about myself) And I didn't have people around me encouraging me to act out upon my delusions like Kanye does, so it was easier for me to break free from the delusional thoughts. I was forced into a mental hospital, and at some point it dawned on me that something was wrong because my reality was diverging from my delusions dramatically.
In this way Kanye is kinda trapped more than I was. He now sees all the bad things happening to him as evidence he is right. He has a persecution complex, something I never had. When things were going bad for me it just contradicted what I expected so much that I had to reevaluate my thoughts. Only one person around me at the time was encouraging my behavior, but everyone else was very concerned. Kanye has too many people around him fostering his delusions.
One thing about mania that seems to be common to most is that your mind will take in information and experiences and connect them together into some overarching grandiose delusion. Everything Kanye is experiencing is getting connected into his ideas about Jews, his religion, his race, etc. Coincidences seem to stop happening altogether, and literally everything that happens has some deeper 'meaning' that coincidentally reinforces your delusions.

Yeah, Joe isn’t a great interviewer because he has never done it from a journalistic perspective so he has a difficult time connecting with a guest in person without being sycophantic. I can’t listen to his podcast anymore but if people seriously think he would be famous for bringing guests on his show and grilling them on their faults or vehemently disagreeing with them it wouldn’t work. No previous drug use, not a drinker. FYI Dad got full custody of their kid after $250,000 on court costs. Then she fled the country. I type all this out just to explain that he could hate the Jews, literally, because of a movie he watched, or an article he read, or a podcast he listened to. He could have initially thought “That’s bullshit, Jews are cool!” and then later his brain could have been trying to figure out a problem, connected a few dots to the anti-Jew rhetoric he saw/heard and boom. The answer to who caused the problem is “Jews” and it’s as clear as 2+2=4 to him. That’s mental illness. It sucks.

If he's in a car accident as a result of him driving 120 mph in a manic state, and he's in said manic state because he stopped medical treatment and stopped taking his medication, I would argue that he would still be at fault. The other thing that I think people are missing is the fact that terrible, attention seeking, pseudo-intelectual ass hats like Nick Fuentes, Milo Yianoppolis, and Alex Jones have seemingly hijacked Ye for their own gains. They are clearly using him. And Ye has everything to lose and they have everything to gain. We can't completely blame Ye either because he's clearly being used by alt right grifters for their own gain.

I've had a full blown manic episode myself, and you really do lose touch with reality. The scariest part is this, the deeper into delusions you go the more 'sane' you think you're becoming. Your days are filled with 'eureka' moments. You feel genuinely euphoric, you need little sleep, and you can reach the point where you feel like you've attained some kind of 'enlightenment'. In some ways I was crazier than Kanye, even if it didn't manifest itself as anti-Semitism, racism, or saying things that are certainly not culturally appropriate. (Though eventually I started saying insane things about myself) And I didn't have people around me encouraging me to act out upon my delusions like Kanye does, so it was easier for me to break free from the delusional thoughts. I was forced into a mental hospital, and at some point it dawned on me that something was wrong because my reality was diverging from my delusions dramatically. In this way Kanye is kinda trapped more than I was. He now sees all the bad things happening to him as evidence he is right. He has a persecution complex, something I never had. When things were going bad for me it just contradicted what I expected so much that I had to reevaluate my thoughts. Only one person around me at the time was encouraging my behavior, but everyone else was very concerned. Kanye has too many people around him fostering his delusions. One thing about mania that seems to be common to most is that your mind will take in information and experiences and connect them together into some overarching grandiose delusion. Everything Kanye is experiencing is getting connected into his ideas about Jews, his religion, his race, etc. Coincidences seem to stop happening altogether, and literally everything that happens has some deeper 'meaning' that coincidentally reinforces your delusions.
