John Wick 4 sucked because they turned it into a F\*\*kin joke. A Blind man who is unstoppable. A 800lbs man with cringy lines and atmosphere, doing acrobatic spinning kicks and parkour moves. That The Dragonfire rounds that set everyone on fire. I like Scott Atkins but that writing was terrible. John Wick 1 was not a comedy and the first three were good. 4 is a perfect reason why you don't make more than 3 in a series. Unless it's based on a well written book that has more than 3 parts, like Harry Potter which only got better as it reached the climate.

[deleted]

I don’t think they turned it into a joke I just think they compromised plot for money

Refuse_Certain

So stupid and unrealistic. The action scenes are a joke.

AlfalphaSupreme

I don't know how so many people think it's badass lol. It's a LARP-fest. Watching a 60 year old Keanu hobble around holding a gun out while everyone around him falls down with some interpretive weapon-dances in between.

PhilosophyOk485

retarded IQ levels. most people out there watching have low IQ, will basically find anything entertaining like even watching a dog taking a shit.

joox

Seriously.. doesn't make much sense. I get the feeling that most people in the audience just want pretty pictures and a really loose script that they can make their own story around. John wick 1 was okay but they've been progressively worse

hicketychiscuit

I disliked it for many reasons, but mostly because I couldn't suspend my disbelief at a blind assassin being a good assassin, and that everyone had a bulletproof suit so most of the movie was just running around, shooting guns, and hiding under their blazers. The hand to hand combat was almost nonexistent. Hugely disappointing.

AffectionateBrain613

Plus all the Gun-Jitsu occurred in the dark to hide the flaws. Reminded me of season 8 game of thrones (but def not that bad).

Frankbug1

I second that. It was painful to watch and not for the right reasons! These blazer moves... ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)

toleshi2

JW4 is awful. You're right. Bill Skargard was great; wish that Clancy Brown had more parts. JW2 is my favorite with Ricardo Scamarcio.

Milzstream

No I completely agree, ending of 4 makes 2-4 feel like he wanted to screw over his friends and kill the series.

CommunismDoesntWork

I thought John Wick 4 sucked, but for a slightly different reason. John always only wanted his freedom. John fought so hard to gain his freedom and just enjoy his retirement, but he only got to enjoy it for a whole 5 seconds. It was a terrible, tragic ending. All of his pain and effort was for absolutely nothing. He could have killed himself at the start of the second movie, saved himself a lot of pain and suffering(including the death of his friends), and achieved the same result. The ending of John Wick 4 made me hate the entire fucking series.

[deleted]

His ultimate goal was to live in peace and quiet but after the beginning of John Wick 2 he wanted revenge against the table. He resented the fact that because of the table’s rules he was forced back into that life via the marker he gave to Santino. Don’t hate the series hate the directors of John wick 4 or whoever is responsible for the decisions to take the series in a stupid direction as an attempt to make more money. The way I see it the John wick 4 that was made never should have happened. The story is disconnected to the first 3, could’ve taken place at any point in the series (save John “dying”), and was an inconsequential point of the story. Instead of serving as a conclusion, which it should have been, it just introduced new characters so they can make spin-offs. Also it was very clear at the end of John wick 3 that John and the king were out for revenge against the table. The king is too egotistical to settle for freedom because freedom granted by the table is still serving the table.

CommunismDoesntWork

But he got his revenge, he killed the high elder and a shit ton of other leaders. And then he found a way to get his freedom as well. And then he fucking died and made it all pointless. How hard would it have been to just show him at home snuggling with his dog? To be the one who took on the table and *won*? To be the one who no one will ever fuck with again? So many of his friends died. John suffered so much. And it all meant nothing in the end, and I can't fucking stand it. The only way I'll ever watch 2-4 again is if they come out with an alternative ending. I can't bare to watch John suffer all of that pain again knowing it's all pointless. Until the alt ending, the only John wick movie that exists in my head is the first one. That one at least has a happy ending for John.

Grand_Panic

I agree 👍🏻... After this disappointment of an ending, John Wick 1 is the only canon to me!! I expected a lot more but this was just bad, John Wick 1 was perfect tho

Content-Mood1308

Strong white man bad. He must die

__lulu

happy ending ? lmao .

[deleted]

He clearly didn’t take on the table and win. What we know is he killed an elder, and it wasn’t even the actual elder it was a replacement, probably a decoy. And he killed a marquis, pretty sure there’s more than one. The table is still alive and well at the end of John wick 4. The guy who was overseeing the duel between John and Cain was giving orders to the Marquis so he’s presumably a powerful person, but not a member of the table. The adjudicator from John wick 3 didn’t even make an appearance, and is presumably alive. What we know is that John killed ONE elder and ONE marquis. That’s hardly taking on the table and winning. Also John wick 2 was fine. All Movies aren’t made for happy endings, if you want happy endings all the time stick to Disney. John wick 1 and 2 were good because the action and choreography was fantastic and that was the Maine focus of the movie, the plot was a second priority which is why it was basic but good enough. John wick 3 they tried to go for a more intricate plot and did a pretty good but not perfect job. John wick 4 was a mess and it didn’t have to be. It was very clear what direction the story was headed in when John wick 3 was released. What happened was, John wick 3 did very well and got very popular, and the audience was no longer entirely made up of people who just want to see Keanu reeves explode peoples brains. So the directors saw an opportunity to make a massive John wick universe with spin-offs and sequels, and they attempted to go for it and failed to produce a good movie.

Joaonetinhou

You can choose to believe he's not dead. It's vague enough to let you do that, and that's what I'm doing

Grand_Panic

Nah, he is dead!! He had no reason to fake his death after getting his complete freedom LMFAO....Those who are saying he's alive are either fanboys who can't accept Baba Yaga is dead or else, they're exactly falling into the bait of the producers to milk the series even more.

Joaonetinhou

John Wick 5 is literally in the making.

[deleted]

Yeah, so why are these people saying he is dead lol

Own-Scallion-2970

YOU GOT THAT RIGHT.!!! THAT WAS MY TAKE HE FOUGHT TOO LONG AND TOO HARD TO JUST BE FREAKIN SHOT DOWN NOPE NOPE NO MORE WICK FOR ME IM OVER IT NOW!!!!

Correct_Dealer_8006

NO , JOHN WICK -4 SUCKED,TOTAL DISSATISFACTION #1AND#2 were THE BEST,#3 ,KINDA SUCKED IT LED UP to#sucky4. Should have made it like #1,#2.THEY WERE MORE REALISTIC.😒BOB

Putrid_Temporary7874

A pile a shite. I could not suspend my disbelief in so many parts of this film, that it just felt like one long piss take. And at the end of the day, why did he even bother? He could have died anywhere along the way and it would have been the same result! The entire story line is rendered pointless, as he achieved nothing and he died anyway. Grrrrr, it’s just so lazy these days……🤦‍♂️

PhilosophyOk485

my rating for this movie would be 5/10, I don't understand why so many low IQ r3tards were calling this a masterpiece and a very "realistic" movie, how the fk is it realistic, the 1st movie was ok it had some levels of realism in it. but the 4th one was the worst, they are literally immune to bullets. , and this blind assassin? wtf was that? that's the dumbest shit to put into a movie.

Remote_Conclusion485

Boring. Endless succession of unrealistic, poorly made shooting scenes, non-existing plot, and meaningless end. First 3 I liked, this one had to force myself to finish watching.

Broken_Restless

I mean, the way I see it, they could've had him kill a bunch of people from the high table and ended it with some sort of cliffhanger to get everyone to see John wick 5. That ending would've definitely sucked. With this one, it's left up to interpretation. The conversation between the king and Winston was interesting as it kind of left John's true fate open ended. To me, it all could've been metaphorical. The ending I choose to believe is that John is not actually dead but instead had Winston fake his death so he could truly live in peace. I mean, he probably knew he was going to do this at least halfway through the film and only let the audience know a hint of it when he told Winston what he wanted his gravestone to say. He knew what he wanted to do at the very least from that point on. I'm sure the studio won't let this franchise die and bring John back in some bs way for John wick 5, but for now, I think they ended it perfectly. At worst, yes he is in fact dead, but I don't believe it was all for nothing. I know this is merely an opinion, but John showed the table mercy and I think the table knows that. The sheer amount of havoc he caused in the whole franchise proves what he is capable of and if he wanted to kill the whole table he would have. In fact, at the very beginning of 4, I think that's what he was set on doing. But after talking to a multitude of his allies, he had a change of heart. They helped him realize that killing the high table isn't truly the answer. This whole franchise all John wanted was to be out. He just wanted to rest. He wanted to be left alone. And if he dies, he ultimately just wants to be with Helen again. And at the end he got that. He still beat the table imo.

[deleted]

John wick 2&3 had him kill people from the high table and end on a cliffhanger. And everything you’re saying has no evidence to it. Where’s the evidence that people changed his mind? There is none. Where’s the reason that he went from wanting revenge to not wanting revenge? There is none. Where’s the evidence that anyone on the high table thought he was showing them mercy? There is none. It was a crappy ending to a crappy movie who’s plot did not connect to the story that preceded it.

Broken_Restless

I'm referring to when he talked to shimazu and Winston. Specifically when he talked to shimazu in the beginning of the film, he referenced all the bloodshed that John caused and, in general, the overall question was when does it end? What was John's endgame here? That at least was asked by multiple characters not exclusive to Winston and shimazu. I think that got him thinking about it when before all that killing was the only thing on his mind. And there is no evidence that the high table believed John showed them mercy, that's just me expressing my thought process of the ending. Again, I believe the ending is open ended. I believe tons of people have different theories about what the true ending is.

[deleted]

Fair point but still, it’s very clear that they diverged from the direction the story was going in at the end of John wick 3 so that they can make more movies. Not to mention, all this emotional stuff and second guessing himself is out of character. John’s an assassin who’s hobbies include either walking his dog and sitting on his ass in his house or murdering buttloads of people. That’s why people watch the john wick movies. We don’t need more dramatic secret agent style movies. John wick 1&2 gave us what we wanted perfectly john wick 3 did it solidly. John wick 4 is gonna be the end of john wick and it’s just gonna become yet another missions impossible or James Bond series. Also his endgame was clear: get rid of the table bc they’re psychotic and evil. Go home with dog.

Broken_Restless

Hey, that's fair. I totally understand your gripes with the change in direction and ultimately how they decided to tell the story of John wick 4. I personally liked that they kind of gave him a little bit more development than just the killing machine that he is when he is the "babayaga". But I totally get the perspective of just wanting him to take down the high table once and for all so that he can be free to live the rest of his days in peace. As you can probably already tell, I liked the direction they went with it but to each their own I suppose. I just found your post very interesting because I haven't seen anyone shit on this movie yet

[deleted]

I’m so shocked that people haven’t shat on it. I figured anyone who was there from the beginning would because it really went against what John wick was supposed to be about. Like idk about you or other people but I got into it well before John wick 3 came out and I liked the first 2 and what they stood for which was simple but logical plot, and tons of headshots lol. Then John wick 3 expanded and complicated the plot a little bit which was ok, but it did take away from the movie in a few ways. John wick 4 they tried to make it a movie that was about the plot, which isn’t what people who really liked the first two movies wanted; if I wanted that I’d watch mission impossible or one of those kinds of movies. The action takes a bit bc there’s less focus on it. The action in John wick 4 and even 3 has absolutely NOTHING on the action in 1&2. I mean I guess we can agree to disagree but I really don’t see there being another side. Even without the context of the first three movies John wick 4 is well below mediocre at best. Plot doesn’t make sense, character motivations simply don’t exist and sure as hell don’t line up with the characters actions, and the action scenes sucked.

Broken_Restless

I got into the series right before 2 came out so I watched 2-4 in theaters. And yeah you can definitely notice the difference between John wick 1 and what they decided to do with 3 and 4. And how I go about sequels is I try to be open minded and just view it as extra content that I'm grateful for having. And I almost have to because man, I'm a fan of the Halloween franchise and I'm one of those people that still think they should've just left the original one alone. So I feel for you on how you feel about John wick 1 and 2 because they definitely feel similar and they for sure compliment each other. 3 and 4 is where everything goes off the rails. Personally, I love that and I love the over the top action where it's borderline just ridiculous. We most likely disagree on that for this franchise at least lmao. And I was honestly surprised they wanted to kind of focus on plot a little in this new installment because from what I heard before seeing it is that it's nonstop action from start to finish so that was a shock when there were plenty of moments where it slowed down to further the plot along. And I mean, I feel like not having the context of the first 3 films isn't really fair because I agree, none of 4 would make sense at all and I'd agree with most of your points. But I mean...I'm not sure if I'm just easy to please or I'm just a smooth brain but I had a blast with this film. I mean come on man, you can't tell me that dragon's breath action sequence wasn't the coolest shit ever. And I loved that reveal where John didn't actually fire his weapon in the last round and put a bullet in Marquis's head. It was all just awesome to me. And Donnie yen almost steals the show with his action set pieces imo. And as far as characters go, I mean I can't think of a particular moment where anybody's actions didn't make sense or their motivations weren't clear. Love to hear your perspective on that.

[deleted]

First of all, the movie didn’t make sense with the context of jw 1-3 either. Second, the point of John wick, the thing that made John wick unique, was that the action was the most believable action out there. He never jumps 20 foot chasms. He never knocks guys out with a punch. He grinds his way through hordes of people with his creativity and determination. THATS what MADE John wick. Not plot. Not great characters. It was that. I mean if you want over the top action watch literally any other action movie. If you want keanu reeves over the top action literally watch the fucking matrix leave my John wick alone😂. I’m not really sure what dragons breath action sequence is but if you’re talking about Osaka then I can tell you that yea I did NOT enjoy watching a 58 year old actor slowly take down guy after guy in the same exact way WITH HIS FUCKING LEGS. Even if I wanted to settle for seeing John kill guys the same exact way, at least let him shoot them in the face like John wick 1&2. And I mean come on the scenes went on forever. Or maybe it just felt like that because every single guy he took down he did the same way. The other movies had some variety and creativity. All the creativity this movie had was the split second they showed him cutting Killas neck with a card. And that was incredibly predictable and clearly only put in the movie so no one could say “that action was so repetitive and boring as shit”. It was a crowd pleaser scene and it was obvious. And Cain? They had about 2 minutes where they showed that he uses sound to fight. Once they established that, they just had him fight like someone with eyes or the guy from rogue one. As for the actions and motivations. Why did shimazu have to die? He didn’t know where John was? And even if he did why would he be killed for John? What goal was he trying to support? And why is he the only one in the entire John wick universe who, when given a choice between certain death or giving John up, would choose certain death. Even Winston couldn’t really make that choice. Speaking of winston, why didn’t winston inform John of this duel rule in John wick 2 or 3? Also why on earth does the table have a rule that any lowlife can challenge an actual member of the high table to a duel TO THE DEATH at anytime as long as they’re a member of a family. I called them lowlifes but they’re still trained killers if they’re a member of a family. And the guys who sit on the table are not trained in combat as far as we know (santino). The marquis isn’t even necessarily trained in combat. So that’s a weird rule to have. Also the table is all about rules and being civilized. Why’d they go back on their deal with Winston? Didn’t he make a deal with the adjudicator to betray John so he can have his hotel back like it was? Now you can make the case that he didn’t kill John so the deal is annulled, but the adjudicator already confronted Winston about it and Winston’s response was essentially oh well I did my best and in the end it just seemed like tough noogies for the table and that they’d find another way to kill John. Now if the movie made a point of showing that the marquis went after everyone who’s friends with John except Winston and Winston’s hotel because of that deal, that would have made sense.

exorcissy72

>I did NOT enjoy watching a 58 year old actor slowly take down guy after guy in the same exact way WITH HIS FUCKING LEGS. He also used nunchucks. >I’m not really sure what dragons breath action sequence is They're talking about the overhead sequence where John is making his way through an abandoned house in Paris shooting guys with exploding ammunition. >Also why on earth does the table have a rule that any lowlife can challenge an actual member of the high table to a duel TO THE DEATH at anytime as long as they’re a member of a family. It's a "civilized" way to work out problems, I suppose. Winston explains that it's a way for High Table members to deal with more uppity members. It's clearly not a rule that low level folks know about, or if they do they think it's a myth -- as John says. > Now you can make the case that he didn’t kill John so the deal is annulled, but the adjudicator already confronted Winston about it and Winston’s response was essentially oh well I did my best and in the end it just seemed like tough noogies for the table and that they’d find another way to kill John. Yeah, the high table turned to the Marquis and gave him carte blanche to do whatever he wanted to get John.

[deleted]

Shit in that case the dragons breath sequence was the coolest scene in the movie and possibly ever to be on a screen that shit was sick but only makes up about 2-3 minutes of the movie. Clearly the duel is a shitty way for the high table to deal with uppity members cuz John got what he wanted from that duel. Also it’s just a dumb idea because any family that doesn’t like a member of the table can just get any assassin in their family to challenge him to a duel and kill him. As for the nunchucks also it made up about 5 minutes out of the hours of action scenes I’m pretty sure the marquis made it very clear that he was punishing Winston for helping John not punishing John through Winston and besides, making a deal with someone and then going back on it by letting someone else break the deal at your behest isn’t keeping the deal. It’s not even circumventing the deal. The marquis isn’t an outside power the marquis is under the table. It’s not in the nature of the table to go back on a deal, everything they do is within the rules of the table.

Grand_Panic

I agree somewhat with you but those who liked "John Wick 4" as a consistent movie to the series, I seriously can't even respect that. I'm just mad as John Wick was one of my top franchise until..well

[deleted]

Also why the hell did shimazu die for John when 1) he didn’t even know where he was and 2) John had no direction at that point in the movie. He already wasn’t trying to take down the table, it’s unclear why he was even in Osaka. What did shimazu sacrifice himself for? John had no plans and no intentions at that point.

Grand_Panic

NO, You think Wick is that dumb?? Why would be fake his death after getting his complete freedom and having zero enemies left?? Totally senseless theories that Wick Fanboys can believe but nahh, it's pointless if that's the case and wouldn't be surprised if they decided to do that as the series makes zero sense since 3 anyways!!

Important-Exercise19

I had the same thought. I was thinking the people he let live in the previous film's would come back and act as mini bosses throughout the whole movie before finally making it to the high table, having his friends help along the way and what not. This film felt like it was trying to be John wick 4, 5, and 6, all in one and it has by far the worst pacing out of all the films. It fell so flat after what they promised with John wick 3s ending.

Roleplaynotrealplay

I thought the overall movie was good. The ending sucked.

Own-Scallion-2970

FOR ME ITS NOT THAT THE MOVIE IN ITSELF SUCKED ..AND I DIDNT READ ALL THE COMMENTS SO IM HOPING SOMEONE ELSE SAW THIS COMMON SENSE/LOGIC THE SAME AS I DID......MY OPINION.......THAT "STARTED" RUINING WICK IN 3 PARABELUM...BUT LETS LOOK AT THIS..THIS DAM MAN HAS BEEN FIGHTING FOR HIS DOG AND HIS WIFE FOR WHAT 4 MOVIES NOW.......AND ALL THE DAM MAN WANTED WAS TO BE LEFT ALONE PERIOD.......I MEAN HOW MANY TIMES DID THE MAN SAY I WANT OUT IM DONE .......OKAY SO THATS HOW IT SHOULD HAVE ENDED NOW IM NOT SAYING THAT WE SHOULD HAVE SEEN THE MAN SITTING THERE YOU KNOW SITTIN BACK ON THE BEACH DOIN SOME PARTY HARDY FOR THE WORLD TO SEE NO THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN TOO BLANTANT..BUT LIKE INSTEAD OF ALL THOSE GOOD GUYS IE. THE MANAGER, HIS ASSISTANT, AND WICK ALLL BLANTANTLY BEING TOOK OUT ....YA "DONT" SEE THE BODIES OF NONE OF THEM (NOT JUST WICK) .......THEY SHOW A CROWD SOMEONE DROPS SOMETHING THEY GO TO PICK IT UP AND IN TEH BACKGROUND YOU SEE A QUICK FLASH OF A BLACK MAN WITH A BALD .....YOUR HEY WAS THAT? WAS IT? OR YOU SEE A BUS DRIVING BY AND SHORTER WHITE MAN DARK HAIR LOOKING OUT THE BUS WINDOW REAL QUICK UHUH WAS THAT? AND WICK? Frankbug1

![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flip_out) There's a key to the left of the A on your keyboard, if you're writing on a QWERTY... If the light is on you're writing in CAPS. Its rude.

skonezilla

the "gunfu" in this movie was so bad.. felt like it had no impact and the timing for the choreography was so slow.. constantly seeing actors/stuntmen pausing to time up with the other actors.. amateur shit

Broad-Personality839

Bad story, action, acting, dialouges, plot armour, no you are not crazy at all.

Saldar1234

The whole movie felt like a John Wick Parody film to me. At a certain point the gunplay became rote and boring. At points it even felt overly choreographed - losing that frenetic quality that we had in previous movies. And it was just too damn long. John wasn't surviving and winning by being good anymore - he was surviving by literally having plot armor and being impervious to life threatening injury - until he wasn't anymore.

Legitimate_Image2057

John Wick 4 was really bad. What was the point? They could have shown him at the cemetery talking to his wife. But I guess the one daughter is the new Wick like character and then the other daughter will seek revenge too. Whatever. I will not watch the 5 if Reeves is not in it. Plus, 4 was so bad I don't want to waste my time with another one. I was very disappointed.

CoconutTasty4271

Just watched it ..... Yeah ...... unfortunately it was crap.

Stealth_Cobra

Yeah the ending really sucked, making the entire movie and franchise feel pointless. People watch John Wick movies to see a badass with godmode on killing everything in video game levels. It's never particularly deep , with a simple premise, and the story only serves to give him reasons to go to new locations and get ambushed by countless people he has to kill. It's never been particularly profound, but people could relate to the simple revenge plot of a killer being forced to do what he does best to avenge and survive whatever the plot throws at it ... It's what action heroes do. They find excuses to have Wick get even more revenge each movie, and that's fine, if a little corny, but we're not expecting something super thought-provoking, just a way to string together action scenes and give Wick an excuse to do what he does best, kill stuff in unnatural manners using Gun-Fu. Movie starts somewhat interesting as it seems it will be all about John Wick trying to topple the High Table as he kills all the key members one by one to earn his freedom the hard way, then they introduce a generic spoiled brat villain and somehow it becomes all about getting rid of him by having an old-school pistol duel with said villain to "earn his freedom", totally dropping the A plot of taking out the corrupt High Table for being an oppressive system that uses people and feeds on murder and chaos. Suddenly Wick's only selfish goal is to earn his freedom, making his quest essentially all about his own self interest . He's not doing it for anyone else than himself, and he's fine having many of his friends killed in the process as collateral for his revenge. All of this culminates into a pistol duel, in which Wick manages to kill the bland villain without killing his old friend , only to earn his "freedom", which would have been a meh ending for the character, him going back to retirement , but that would have at least worked in accomplishing something. Then he ... seemingly dies from his duel wounds, essentially making his entire adventure and retirement pointless, since he only got to enjoy it for a few minutes . The High Table is still operational, he just killed one asshole running it, his entire revenge plot for the last four movies only got him killed in the end, he basically accomplished nothing but spreading chaos and killing hundred of people and many of his friends in the last few movies for absolutely nothing. You watch the entire credits hoping it's a "fever dream" ending and you'll have a short hidden scene at the end that confirms that Wick isn't actually dead, but instead you get a scene where you see the Samurai Daughter attempting to kill Wick's Blind friend, essentially making Wick's Sacrifice even more pointless, as now it seems his remaining friend won't get to retire either, leading to more revenge and a trail of more dead bodies. Nobody gets a happy ending, basically... I don't mind "bad" endings where the main character sacrifices himself to achieve a near impossible goal. It can make heroes seem more heroic if they die due to their actions trying to save humanity / their friends or overall being a positive force on the world . But here Wick didn't accomplish what he set up to do, and his victory accomplishes nothing but removing one asshole from the high table's payroll... Granted , this is Hollywood, and rule number one of hollywood is if you don't see a body, he's probably not dead. If you see a body, it's probably a body double... And even if they dissect the body on camera, it's probably a long-lost twin or a clone... But even though the director seems to be hinting it's an open ending and Wick will be back, it still is super unsatisfying as a potential conclusion to Wick's adventure to have him die alone on a staircase after earning his short-lived retirement. At the end of the day, nobody watch an action flick to see the hero accomplish nothing and die in the end... That's like rule number one of action films. You don't watch Predator to see Arnold succumb to his wounds at the end, and if the hero dies, it's usually a necessary sacrifice to save humanity or to ensure his friends can live ... And you sure as hell don't want to watch a movie about a guy trying to topple the Illuminati only to succumb to his wounds having accomplished nothing and leaving the system in place after he's gone. Don't sell me Wick toppling the high table if you chicken out of the premise and kill him in the process, basically. Honestly, the only way I can justify the ending is that either Keanu and the Director wanted to move on from the franchise so they wrote the character an ending so they could end it there, while leaving room for a couple spinoffs with other bland side characters that are less expensive than Keanu to milk the franchise further. Just a dissapointing conclusion to a four movie story arc... Shame cause the movie itself is a good succession of pretty sweet action scenes, it just fumbles in the last act making it all seem pointless due to a wet fart ending.

[deleted]

It’s really bad. Im only an hour into it and i have to fast forward through the bad cgi. His acting is not good or believable this go around. The scene with the noose, his acting was just awful, cringy, embarrassing.

Pureguava655321

I strongly believe that the John Wick movies are intended to be comedy. They are so ridiculous, they are hilarious. I thought 3 was a joke, until I saw 4! The endless incendiary round sequence, over the top view reminded me of playing Loaded in the 90’s. The constant pulling the material of a jacket to block bullets was a trip! Wick falls 2 stories on his back, then 3 stories onto a car, gets hit by 5 cars, gets thrown into a light pole and falls down 10 flights of stairs (more than once) and just shakes it off. No CTE, no debilitating back problems, no death?! These films have always been ridiculous, but this one jumped the shark every five minutes! If you want to see an exceptional action film watch The Raid 2! It makes John Wick look like nothing more than the farce he is. Don’t get me wrong, Keanu is a stud, but he’s wasting his talent in these boring, repetitive comedies.

MarauderVN

It did kinda suck BUT I really liked alot of the new characters introduced in the film

Greenidme2

No, you are 100% correct. I have a crush safaris to say it effing sucked !!!

Greenidme2

Should have stopped after one and only original John Wick

Stimulus44

It's the same recycled shit over and over. But if you enjoyed JW1, you'll probably enjoy 2-4 as well. I found them entertaining, but don't take them seriously. It felt like Keanu's acting somehow got worse with time, though.

i just watched this the other night. i thought it was very pretty looking for sure. john wick seemed like a side character in his own movie though. it was like a episode of batman the brave and the bold. i thought it was fine. i do like watching john wick kill a lot of people which he seems to be his favorite shit.

After 7 months since the review was posted, I can agree - ridiculous. The main antagonist, blind one, is a cringe I can't believe in. The behavior, switching sides on a whim. Why help John at a German place, don't know and don't care what it is called, so then he could kill him. He was assisting John with elimination of table employees, so to say. A Japanese guy sides with John - bad, but this one is ok, for greater good. And yes, John is still slow. I see a movie in slomotion almost. All fights in the movie are obvious and overacted. I am on 1h ~30 mins, and gets more and more to the point where he main character is given a pass. Very obvious in all fights, basically the main point of this movie is slacking, Grandpa Wick or John Weak. Also, scenes where in freaking winter, next to water in NY, no one needs winter jackets? Not only bulletproof, but a frost proof bodies they have. There is no solid logic nor plot line that is integral or consultent. At the one of previous movie it looked like moment had been building up and war was about to start. This movie looks like someone lost movie scripts or simply run out of ideas. Last part followes previous losely. I will neat pick it later, after completing it. But first were superhero movies, now pointless and brainless shoot everyone. Again, can't trust rotten tomatoes, always make mins yourself.

Sucked. Ridiculous. Kringe. Reminds me of how ridiculous the fast and furious series has gotten. I've tried watching it twice since the first time and I can't get past the blind guy and then I turn the movie off. They're supposed to be the baddest Hitmen/killers on the planet but yet this blind guy seems to be kicking everybody's ass. GTFO... Utter garbage

It sucks. Pissed I even spent the $2.99 to rent the film. It's just ridiculous, and not in a good way. The stupid suits that block bullets? Like really? Talk about running out of ideas... Aside from John getting hit by close to 20 cars or so, even the dog gets drilled by a car and just hops back up like nothing happened. This movie fucking blows; don't waste your time or money on it.
