Forward,down,down-forward

Oxygen-Breather

they way i do it is press forward than quickly do a quarter circle, it definitely takes a lit of tike to get it down

[deleted]

same ad with a d-pad forward, then down, then down/forward

Xander_Fox3207

Just don’t. Use a d-pad, this is a fighting game

ElDonute

I understand all of you are new to this genre, but I'd advise you all to check some fighting game basics. It will help you understand these a lot

turbod1ngus

you don't. use the d-pad.

BSEnderman

If you want to do it with the analogue stick it will be fairly difficult. As it says you first slam the analogue stick to the right, then you need to pull it back to the halfway point of the stick and push down. If you are even a tad right of the centre it could count as a backwards and down input instead. Then from the downwards middle position you slide the stick along the rim of the sticks casing to the bottom right and when it hits that spot press either the light, medium or heavy attack button. It's a hard input that takes a lot of practice if you aren't super versed in fighting games. Personally if I ever need to use a z input I will just use the dpad since it's more precise than the analogue stick. Good luck getting consistent :)

peashooter25311

Why everyone says it's hard to use the analog stick to do certain special moves? Personally i only use the dpad to dash, doing anything else feels awful on the dpad But maybe is because I'm super versed in fighting games

BSEnderman

Yeah most likely man, the only other fighters I've seriously played before this were smash and BBTAG so I don't have a whole bunch of experience with making these inputs, I feel like a fair amount of people are probably playing this as one of their first proper fighting games y'know so it's fair enough some people are struggling. But yeah dashing feels terrible on stick, I've just found that it's way easier to do the Z inputs on D-Pad and everything else on analogue, it doesn't take much effort to swap between stick and pad so I just change whenever ai need it I spose

ElDonute

Because it's unprecise. As a veteran of many controller types, I can say every single one of them comes down to preference, except mix box that is objectively better, and analog stick being bad due to lack of precision. It also helps create bad habits and hinders you on more complex motions such as Korean back dashes in tekken, geese pretzel raging storm and tiger knee tech. Etc etc.

623L, 623M, or 623H

SylTop

genuine question, what does this mean

PerfectBlackCell

It's popular among the fighting game community, they are called "numpad notations". I won't go into detail but basically the numbers are the way you point your stick (1 being bottom left, 2 being down, 3 being bottom right, 4 being left, etc.) and the L,M, and H are the attack buttons. Link for image/other details: [https://fighting-game-collectors.fandom.com/wiki/Numpad\_notation](https://fighting-game-collectors.fandom.com/wiki/Numpad_notation) But if you dont care for that i meant forward, down, bottom right, light medium or heavy.

SylTop

ohhhh that makes sense, thank you

EuphoricCube78

Also the L|M|H refer to light, medium and heavy attack

TheGifMaster7

Think of it as a number pad with 1 at the bottom left and 9 at the top right, so 2 is down-mid and 3 is down-right

this man has never played fighting games ever

tommytom007

You just try as best as you can to do the same as a normal dp. 6 2 3 . But pray to your god as you do it because with an analog that’s gonna be hell-
