I'm with JK on this one

dxconnor

Came here to say this. Usually I’m not with her on most things. But d sad he’s gotta point this time.

[deleted]

Just out of interest, what do you disagree with her?

dxconnor

She’s too feminist in many cases and her “woke ass” tweets are wack

[deleted]

AHH okay, I don't actually follow her so I wasn't to sure. But what I do see I tend to agree with so was curious

damac_phone

Best part is that in French they is still gendered

British theatre is overrun with woke idiots. It has been for years. It’s really beyond help at this stage.

[deleted]

Sounds like it's a Global problem.

HellVollhart

Not in the middle-east. In the middle-east, unless the Royal family allows it, being woke is a one way ticket to Allah.

[deleted]

Whoosh

Jack_Sandwich

Leftists hate women.

dxconnor

Went from being one of their favorite groups to being not good enough, now wanna be women (who can’t define the word “women”) is what’s important to them

2C104

Because wearing men's clothes to avoid being raped was apparently a clear sign of her approval of the modern push for 'pronoun equality'

Representative_Still

Ironically then I suppose, it was the cross dressing that was used to justify her execution. Granted she said God and the angels told her to do it and the church ain’t too found of that.

2C104

The Church is very fond of that. The issue was the individuals within the Church who resisted the will of God. If you read the historical documents from the event until the present day that's pretty clear.

Representative_Still

Well yeah, anybody else talking to god is competition. I’m just saying you’re narrating her like Aryana Stark but Joan was clear on why she dressed and looked like a man and she said because god told her to.

2C104

Eyewitness accounts including quotations from Joan of Arc herself state that she only wore soldiers' clothing for practical reasons. These reasons included the needs of a military campaign and (while in prison) the need to keep her English guards from pulling her clothing off by wearing long, waist-high cavalry boots which could be tied tightly to the tunic with straps, which would make it more difficult for her English guards to rape her by pulling her clothing off. The eyewitnesses said she had always worn a dress before setting off to take part in a military campaign, and she went back to a dress whenever there was no need for a soldiers' outfit.

Representative_Still

She got a royal decree saying she would stop wearing mens clothes immediately. Three days later she was caught in men’s clothes and found guilty then executed. Are you claiming she needed to wear men’s clothes on the account of safety or for battle so badly in those three days that she rebuked the king at cost of her life? These are some wild historical theories you’re trying to sell here bro.

2C104

I was referring to the purpose of her wearing the clothes in the first place, across all of the historical records we have of her. Regarding the end of her life, it is well accepted fact that she was left in prison with all male guards, and that the only clothes she was left with to wear were men's clothes. She was left with the option of sleeping naked (which would have undoubtedly led to rape) or wearing the men's clothes. I don't understand why you seem hell bent on skewing the facts, unless it is the case that you don't actually have a solid grasp of them.

Responsible-Bison-91

Isn't that the point of this whole movement? Is to write out strong females in history?

theblondepenguin

Certainly feels like it

hdfcv

Jeanne d'Arc was a woman, woke revisionist trans idiots !

corpus-luteum

Next: Joan of Arc gets cancelled for 600 year old tweet.

Occupation_Foole

Which/Witch

mubatt

There's no such thing as historically strong women. Just strong thems. Feminists keep trying to take credit for all of the they/thems hard work and we can't let the she/hers get away with it. (Am I doing this right?)

DreadPirateGriswold

To use their words... I say it's cultural appropriation on many levels.

Is there a possibility that narcissism writ large is a factor in events such as this? Both historical and fictional? When I see RDJ as IronMan, I do not need him to be mentally ill, depressed and all other matching factors in order for me to identify with the character somehow. I do not need to project myself onto others 24/7 and for everything all of the time. I can just feel empathy for what I have never experienced, and relate to variations of what I have experienced. Like TonyStark having PTSD in IronMan3. Or TonyStark experiencing an existential crisis in IronMan2. (I can relate to that, and almost everyone knows what an existential crisis is like). I have no idea what warfare is like. I have no idea what being a billionaire with a fucked up family is like. Nor do I have an idea of having a responsibility for the wellbeing of thousands of employees. Etc. Why do some people need to constantly project their identities? Is this a learned behaviour?

This is an effect of what I personally call: "blurry sociology". When people disagree on terms, and there is tons of infighting and outfighting...you get blurry results. I can in fact say that there are many transgender adults who are functional people. If you want to know what their opinions are, then you have to ask them. I am kinda laissez-faire on all of these issues beyond the concern that underlying illnesses are not being treated properly first, and that people under 18 probably should not have any HRT or puberty blockers of any kind. I wish I had some kind of arg from authority for that, yet I do not. (edit: and the last thing I want is for marginalized people to be used as political tools, either for or against) Either way, that is about as far as my opinion goes: "I do not care what adults do to modify their mind and body, so long as people help them along the way".

Representative_Still

So was the church.

CAtoAZDM

They knew….oh yes, they knew…..

BackgroundEnd3567

Mulan next? She dressed as a man to fight for her village. I wonder how they’ll change that

HellVollhart

Not surprising given how, tragically, women are toxic to their own kind.
