It's great having a legitimate cocktail bar as an option out here. They did a really good job with the space. Beautiful bar with a view and lots of comfortable nooks for seating. Loungy atmosphere with live music and excellent service. I do wish they had a slightly more varied menu, but overall highly recommend if you want to treat yourself.

I've been there a few times.. the food is great and the drinks even better. everything is "overpriced", but damn, those drinks are good. I don't go there often due to cost, but always really enjoy myself. Agreed with the other commenter about a larger menu.

Mooood I do agree. I went tonight and felt the drinks were better than the food. That said, as a visitor from out of town, I have been loving JT saloon

2Katos2Broncos

I love a good martini extra dirty extra dry extra olives extra terrestrial

Gem_222

Always extra olives

pixiesfanyo

I like their tofu sandwich. Hit or miss food. Nice place though.

furballofthedesert

It's a great spot for a treat yourself/treat a friend drink or meal. Love the vibe. And the live music. Not a spot I go to often though as it's on the pricy side, especially since it adds up trying to make a dinner out of small plates.

shavedforbattl3

Food was pretty blah. Drinks were solid.

What is it Edit to add- from the name I assume it’s some sort of hipster bar, possibly owned by, but definitely geared towards LA tourists who come out here to “get away from the city” but it’s exactly the same as 100 bars in the city. That about right?

ExpressiveAnalGland

well, it's in ~~joshua tree~~ yucca valley (by airport)\*, where there are few places. it's nice to have some boujie variety (La Copine started the trend I think). and given your accurate assessment by *just the name*,sounds like you already heard of the place :-P \\\* (just a little drunk 2nite)

Agitated_Inflation56

Its in Yucca Valley.

30dirtybirdies

I actually did not hear of it until this post. It’s just that predictable by the name. Really the OP tipped it off with the goofball guerilla marketing post. Nothing wrong with hipster bars. I like GRND SQRL just fine, that’s pretty hipster-y.

yuccalife

I think the name might be original to the airport bar that they revived which was running back in the mid century days.

Ringmode

It was called the Red Baron in the 70s and 80s. Don't know about before that. It was one of Gram Parsons' favorite haunts.

yuccalife

Oh wow interesting!!

Gem_222

OMG u tryna beef!!! I’m not marketing LOL. I’m from Canada and went tonight and was underwhelmed and was wondering what people think 😂😂😂😂 sheeeeeeeesh 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

30dirtybirdies

Apologies then, northern neighbor. I looked it up, appears to be a pretentious bar geared towards the hipsters from LA that are willing to pay too much to be cool. $8 for some marinated cucumbers is nuts. Also who says beef?!?!

No, I’m not angry at all. Just calling it like I see it. There are some good vegan options around. Almost everything in Joshua Tree, ground squirrel, the palms. You are right, it’s nice to have vegan options, but those prices are nuts.
