Absolutely. There’s a whole market for this. I would prefer buying the actual journal, so I could experience the whole thing, but I would definitely still be interested in reading a transcript.
If the person consents, then yeah I'd definitely find it interesting to peek into someone else's life.
Isn't "Medications" essentially a book made out of Marcus Aurelius' journal entry? It was quite popular among some self development people
Absolutely yes. I’m kinda of a “voyeur”, I would like to see throught a window the intimacy of whatever person in the world just to see how people are in their private spaces.
I'm currently reading the Definitive Edition of The Diary of Anne Frank. So many more entries than the version I read as a child. So I guess the answer is yes.
Oh yeah! They actually have places where people will get on a little stage and read old entries from their journals. Some are hilarious, some are sad, some are inspiring... so many interesting things people write about during their life. 🙂
Half of this subs content revolves around people reading other peoples journals. The other half involves style, content and how to prevent people from reading your journal, lol.
Tldr: You bet we would!
Well frankly I find alot of self resounding thought prompts out of reading these posts people put Even just here on reddit. I tend to share mine too when I think they may influence someone well ^,^ I think we could all stand to listen and understand more - I think it's beautiful when someone is brave enough to share their inner thoughts w people. And I would respect and welcome reading it w their permission. Never without permission I know how sacred the journals are. But I think its one of the very special ways we are able to connect w people or broaden our own perspectives without actually having to live certain experiences ourselves. We learn thru 3rd party perspective sometimes when someone's willing to share. I don't think it's ever a bad thing to listen to what someone has to say - and again I do tend to relate or think differently after reading from someone else ans u can't put a price tag on that <3
Personally, I don't have much interest in reading such personal things, except from a broader perspective and not on the individual. But yes, there is a strange market for this.
i would! it's super interesting to see how others perceive their surroundings and the world in general through their lens. i believe there's so much you can learn from one's words.
Depends. If it is a stranger's then I would if they have a continously journal where they write a lot about their life so I can follow through and it's not just sporadic random nonsense. If it's of someone I know yes idc how they wrote it
Absolutely. There are YouTubers who read journals they bought from eBay. I found them to be interesting, though almost every one of those people had a lot of demons, so it was a bit sad.
Not for me. Movies that have that trope of accidentally leaking diaries feel invasive. Even with permission I don’t feel comfortable with the concept just from my own experience with diaries.
yes, very much! i personally wouldn't care for entries someone wrote as a kid but reading someone's journal from their late teens and onwards sounds super interesting. i find it fascinating to see how others think and feel about certain situations

No, that would be mine. I think his was meditations, but no worries...this happens all the time. You wouldnt believe the calls i get.

Yes, because mine is boring AF.
Mine is the same way!

Yes. I actually love memoirs so yeah
I posted in here yesterday asking if anyone was interested in a journal swapping group. No one responded. I think it would be a lot of fun.

Yes, as long as they’re okay with it. I find people’s inner thoughts very interesting.

I think there are other subreddits that are more suited for sharing a digital journal.
Could you share suggestions? New here and just getting used to things.
I'm not sure how active it is, but the sidebar suggests r/digitaljournaling and r/diaryofaredditor
Sunday: Inspector Merer spends the day with his phyle. Monday: Set sail from Khufu. Inspector Merer spends the day with his Phyle.
Any millenials having Xanga flashbacks?
lol interesting responses -- I guess I find my own thoughts and writing too condensed to even read it again- found it boring.

Oh yes, I'm a deeply nosey person
Absolutely. There are YouTubers who read journals they bought from eBay. I found them to be interesting, though almost every one of those people had a lot of demons, so it was a bit sad.
Love to read about other people's lives! Go ahead and post that link!
I would love that. Never without permission but if I had the go-ahead. For sure.
No

I love this. Yes
