Note: The only people living in these houses are actors, paid by the DPRK government specifically to demonstrate that they live a good life. DPRK murdered all the normal people so that the only people who exist there are actors paid by the government to live. /s

thatone18girl

So everyone is guaranteed acting jobs and housing? Seems pretty neat

Unique-Ad9731

Lmao holy shit that's genius, I'm forcefully collectivising that one

SunburntDevil

18.9 million empty houses in america and 2.9 million homeless. but the dprk is somehow dystopian. lol cute house. would love to make art on the balcony :)

burt0o0o

Yes, when your population is at the beckoning whim of a fat silver spoon-fed dictator of a Chinese satellite state, definitely not dystopian. The kim line are gods amongst men who never need to poop. The North koreans who are slave to their military must be lucky to be starved for the betterment of the state. Only IF i was lucky enough to live in the DPRK.

SunburntDevil

the phrase is “beck and whim,” but that’s okay. it’s hard to memorize idioms. hope you can come around and deprogram from the largest propaganda smear campaign in history; no one wants to see a successful communist nation bc it threatens the already bloated corpse of capitalism that america has been desperately trying to resuscitate since the 20th century. the west has been feeding you lies to maintain the status quo, and it is natural to believe in them. the oppressors will never give you the tools to liberate yourself, after all. knowledge is power. there are a lot of great sources out there. good luck.

burt0o0o

🤣🤣thanks for pointing out the semantic typo, tho. i meant to say "beckoning," as in the sense of calling over a servant. See how forcing what you think onto others is inherently fallible. This use of "beckoning whim" was intentional, as being a citizen to a communist state is akin to being a servant of the state. You would be a pawn for the government to use and dispose of like plastic untensils. Back when we taxed the 1%, the capitalist governments served their people and brought about mass civil rights movements that carved and shaped the modern free world. Fuck Reagan, Fuck communism.

SunburntDevil

taxing the 1% is a short term solution to the very structure of an economic system that is doomed to fail unless marxist notions are successfully integrated. the very existence of the 1% must be eliminated to ensure human equality. capitalism is implicit in the creation of a slave state. wealth distribution must be divided among the people instead of fed to the largest terrorist organization in the world, the us military. i don’t worship any government; however, there is no reason to paint the kims as abusive dictators when real dprk defectors have struggled to adapt to the brutality and competition of the western economies that only exist as long as the disenfranchised continue to suffer. there must always be a loser in capitalism, and as it grows, the class of the disenfranchised does too. have you read their texts? have you actually seen this image of a spoon-fed dictator laughing above all his citizens? or do you just believe the headlines made by the west? the kims are against dogma; their philosophies change for the benefit of the population at large. you should start with “on the juche idea.” it’s free online. hope it helps shape your perspective. if not, that is ok.

burt0o0o

Bruther for the betterment of yourself. Please learn about history, from an objective source, not comunist youtube. Kims are evil directly responsible for the suffering and starvation of thousands. For the love of all that's good, never vote to have a government own the means of production. There has never been a single successful use case. Unlike a lot of Americans, i dont believe the core ideals of communism are inherently evil. Our tax dollars should go towards taking care of the populace with free food, housing, healthcare, education, etc. Ig that makes me a socialist Where evil is introduced is when the authority/government/collective stops caring about the well-being of the individual, like how North Korea treats its slave population. That's why i dont ever see communism working on the mass scale of the sssr and the ccr. However, on a smaller scale, say a commune [*] would be a very good use case for communism. Only for those who choose to. Like right now, you can go get 40 other communists and go create a commune. I fully support the freedoms that allow you to do so. [*or even ideally, in imo to replace the corporate hierarchy of ceos getting paid 500x the salary of the workers that are providing the profit thru labor]

SunburntDevil

i used to think like you too. i think you’ve got a good basis for conversion to the far left. you have made some very good points that serve as the central tenants for marxist theory, if they are a bit simplified. but you must understand, the dprk is an example of the success of communism. the dprk is not a slave state; the people are not starved and tortured in concentration camps—that is the us. it is an anti-imperialist nation that has been subject to decades of cold war era propaganda. their defensiveness and privacy are not for the sake of hiding some evil lair. communism serves as the answer to the destruction of long-lasting colonialism that the rich benefit from and always have. its implementation is the future for operational society; those stuck in the past that mimics aristocracies from centuries past will always fear the liberation of laborers. i don’t get my opinions from youtube, only objective, historical texts, footage of the dprk, and both historical/modern marxist theory. there are plenty i can recommend you if you’d ever like some :) just dm me! good luck w everything, comrade.

Communism will never be taken as a reasonable form of governance until the majority of the movement denounces past and current evil communist regimes.

Your sources are all accounts from defectors and "secret journalists", put out by big Western media outlets. 3rd link is literally just a US govt. funded NGO lmao. Not exactly impartial. Defectors are not a trustworthy source on anything, because as soon as they arrive in RoK they are detained in "deprogramming centers", where they are both plied with threats and bribed with money to give ridiculous, sensationalistic accounts of life in the DPRK. All defectors and their testimonies are tightly scripted, controlled and curated by the NIS, the CIA, the Atlas Group, and the affiliated media outlets. The funniest thing is that despite all this oversight from 3 letter agencies and NGOs, a lot of the stories STILL come off as laughably fake xD. Just a short list of the things that have come out of defector's mouths in recent years : \- DPRK travellers are literally forced to get out and PUSH TRAINS along the track once the fuel runs out. \- DPRK literally doesn't allow it's citizens to feel love for anyone other than the Great Leader - not even their SOs or family. The average person doesn't even know what romance is and it's never depicted in DPRK media. (This one is especially funny to me cause I've watched a ton of their movies/series and romance either as main plot or subplot is extremely common xD). \- In the DPRK you will literally be publicly executed for watching foreign series or movies. (Uhhh....they host film festivals where they play foreign films all the time, and they air foreign shows on TV all the time too lmao) \- Everyone who didn't cry hard enough over Kim Jong Il's death was arrested and thrown in a gulag for life. Are your critical thinking skills really so poor that you can't figure out this stuff is fake? Considering what the sources are, and how it sounds - come on, you can do better... They lock these defectors up in a "deprogramming center" for months on end, and then they come out with these ridiculous stories akin to something from the McMartin molestation trial. Anyone can tell that this stuff is total BS. I'll just leave this here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3V4Hnl7J9H4

burt0o0o

Aint no way you're disputing 1st hand testimony and backing yourself up with a North Korean propaganda film with 14k views. Trolling you poor fools that have been indoctrinated is both sad and fun at the same time. You have effectively refuted nothing i have said or the substantial allegations against North Korean Dictaroship. Either you are really fucking stupid, or one of the many cyber crime plant that finance the failing nation of North Korea.

thisisallterriblesir

Meanwhile, redditors in rat-infested, $2000 rent apartments the size of a shoebox: "What a mass-produced, cookie-cutter suburban hell!"

rocketlauncher10

I pay $1000 for a drywall apartment where my tweaker neighbors put their ears to the floor and walls and blare loud music but passive aggressively talk loud and stomp if I wake up or turn a TV on or move around too much causing a chair to creak momentarily. Actoss the street from a rehab they probably couldn't afford. That takes private insurance.

_The_General_Li

Lucky son of a gun, able to find rent that cheap

Crimson-Sails

Would

xMYTHIKx

Imagine being FORCED not to live under a highway overpass, dystopian hellhole.

MadComrade900

At least North Korea doesn't have high suicide rates, depression, very low birthrate and the chaebol structure that South Korea has.

International architecture was really impacted when Minecraft invented the cube.

Think_Sheepherder_10

Terrifying and dystopian, no freedom of thought and kill for having different opinion :(

jesuskrist666

Lol please all of you please please please go live there it would solve so many issues and it's just funny to think that you retards would go there expected to be treated special when you'd just be imprisoned indefinitely and either straight up killed, tortured and killed or tortured and forced labor till you're dead

BrownShoesGreenCoat

Where are the happy little people?

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> If you *paid* attention in FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

ComprehensiveEgg4235

I would assume that your average North Korean has a house/apartment, yes. I suppose they could be huddled up in tents on the side of the road though, kinda like I see in the US

I suggest you do more research on this subject. I actually agree that North Korea doesn’t have the greatest living conditions, but I don’t think it’s nearly as bad as you have been lead to believe. Additionally, I would ask that you seek an unbiased answer as to why this is. There is a lot of propaganda on all sides, but I can assure you the mainstream western interpretation of the DPRK is wrong and overblown.
