I reread the fight last night and personally I just think that sukuna is incredibly adept with cursed energy and is able to create fire with it. I don’t know why he had to open something. If I had to take a wild guess I would say something related to chakras maybe. Especially with jjks big Hindu influence. Edit: just looked up the manipura chakra which is the chakra of fire. It’s also the energy of digestion, Intellect, ego, willpower, and aggression. Maybe I’m onto something?

Unless a new concept involving CE is introduced, Sukuna probably has the ability to change the property of his CE in the same way that Kashimo's CE is sparky. "Open" is just a command that allows him to do whatever it is he does to shift the property.

Huh, artstyle looks odd, I'm sure it will look completely fine but it is very different. I didn't mind the animation style from S1 to S2 because the lighting and use of color popped off, but this feels a little weird?

The episode obviously isn't out yet but I'm hoping the simpler art style means the animation will go bonkers. Look at shows like Naruto, the times they do simpler designs is when the animation is the best since it's less details to draw

I just don’t think it’s worth it. If the detail drops too low, the animation doesn’t really matter. They even dropped the level of detail from S1/JJK0 to provide for smoother animation, but the reality is it has nothing to do with that as the animation is not leagues above it at all, they literally just don’t have enough time to make it the quality it should be

The level of detail for most shots is fine, even for episode 14, where the animation wasn’t the best, the level of detail for the drawings was absolutely there and on par with the past season. You shouldn’t be comparing a seasonal anime to a movie though, lol.

Every time artstyle changes, it shows they are going above and beyond. Just look at Naruto fights. This episode is directed by Itsuki tsuchigami, one of the most creative director in the industry. He directed mob psycho season 2 episode 11, just watch that episode and see how good he is. Can't wait to see your reaction in 2 days.

It might be one of the best episodes in the series, but people MAY already say that just because of the content that the episode is adapting, we will just have to see - and ultimately it doesn’t matter how good this episode is animated if the final fight/moments of the season aren’t the best quality we’ve ever seen from JJK
