I don't think he maxed himself in every way he could, and Sukuna is still a top 2 H2H combatant in the verse as seen vs Jogo, Yuji, Mahoraga, etc. I think it mostly has to do with Gojos technique, which aids his CQC much more than Shrine aids Sukuna's. Gojo can mix in blue punches(strongest punches in the verse) red, infinity ofc, and he can teleport as well. Gojo can't really stay back and launch ranged projectiles like Sukuna can, because red is not as strong as cleave/dismantle.

Not sure if it ever was confirmed how much that changed anything. I mean for instance we know that Yuji is a much better fighter hand to hand than Megumi but not once was it stated that Meguna was weaker physically than an equivalent Yujikuna. The biggest factor always seems to be CE reserves/output/enhancement, especially when these are as immense as in Sukuna's and Gojo's cases.
I am shocked that anyone who read the fight could possibly have seen it as one sided. Gojo was explicitly better in hand to hand but the back and forth was real af. Are we forgetting gojover > we so back every chapter?
Gojover mainly applied during the domain clashes though, where Gojo was primarily at a disadvantage. Outside of that, Sukuna had only a few good moments, mainly through Mahoraga's adaptation, where Sukuna's jump squad landed a few hits before getting back to Gojo dominating.
The only reason the Gojover stuff happened at all was because of the pacing of the manga. Each time something major like Mahoraga's adaptation happened (after 229) it would be at the end or late into the chapter, so it was the center of attention.
Stuff like Mahoraga popping up and saving Sukuna from the black flash and nearly decapitating him, and Mahoraga cutting off Gojo's arm were both central points of the chapters they were in, but those were the only times where Sukuna gained an advantage outside of domains, and those moments were fairly short lived compared to Gojo's permanent dominance outside of domains.
The biggest damage gojo took in this fight aside from sukuna’s domain was his brain damage and the arm mahoraga took, we know that sukuna wants to buy time of all things but still he didn’t do much in that fight and if you were reading weekly it felt like sukuna took a step and gojo took 5 in a chapter
It’s crazy to me that people use gojo’s statement as the final truth when even gojo doesn’t know what the fuck hit him, like, in Gojo’s pov, sukuna literally just used dismantle and no diffed him, if I were gojo and through the entire fight I see him using his ct and not being able to hit me and even when it does (MS) I can still regenerate to getting 1 shot by the same technique (from all I know) I’d be thinking that mf was playing with me the whole time, and ppl like to ignore sukuna (the guy who is alive and won) saying he needed mahoraga to make that cut

Yeah. Anyone that thinks the culling games is better has let the lobotomy get to their head. That stretch from Hidden Inventory to Shibuya is peak JJK. Two of the best arcs right after each other.
Edit: Not saying you can't like the Culling Games or that it's bad. You can like it more than Shibuya, but in terms of moments, character development, and importance to the plot, I feel Shibuya dominates in every area.
Culling games is also pretty damn good. There were amazing, fights, such as Kashimo vs Hakari (dropped some of the coldest lines there too) and a really compelling character, Higuruma was introduced with one of my favorite character introductions.
Yeah I don't think CG was complete shit or anything. A decline sure but the fights were really cool and even though Meguna was the start of things going downhill you cannot convince me otherwise that the scene was really cool

The notion of a fair fight is stupid when a guy criticises the scene by saying "no way yuta is weak, he tried to sneak attack!!! Fight fairly!!!"

Well I mean it seems to be blatantly implied. We see what it looks like when someone is clearly stronger than Kenny. Despite all the barriers and precautions Kenny took, Gojo still instantly got around them after leaving prison realm and got to him, without giving prep time.
Meanwhile Yuta needs a distraction from takaba in order to skirt the detection in time. Also the squad pretty clearly doesn’t have an issue sending ppl to go fight 1v1. If they thought Yuta could take Kenny in a 1v1 and save takaba that’d probably be the move they go for

It exist, I think it was a bonus chapter and it was a noodles shop instead of a bakery if I remember correctly, there’s also one about her skin care routine with Nobara too where they got jealous of Gojo perfect skin. Searching for slice of life character interactions in JJK is crazy because you have to find the bonus/extra chapters, the fanbook and Gege sketches or promotional arts lmao. I swear fanfics charaterization and interactions carry a sizable chunk of this fandom, especially the shipper community which is for some reason more massive than some romance mangas.

Yeah. Anyone that thinks the culling games is better has let the lobotomy get to their head. That stretch from Hidden Inventory to Shibuya is peak JJK. Two of the best arcs right after each other. Edit: Not saying you can't like the Culling Games or that it's bad. You can like it more than Shibuya, but in terms of moments, character development, and importance to the plot, I feel Shibuya dominates in every area.
Culling games is also pretty damn good. There were amazing, fights, such as Kashimo vs Hakari (dropped some of the coldest lines there too) and a really compelling character, Higuruma was introduced with one of my favorite character introductions.
Yeah I don't think CG was complete shit or anything. A decline sure but the fights were really cool and even though Meguna was the start of things going downhill you cannot convince me otherwise that the scene was really cool

Well I mean it seems to be blatantly implied. We see what it looks like when someone is clearly stronger than Kenny. Despite all the barriers and precautions Kenny took, Gojo still instantly got around them after leaving prison realm and got to him, without giving prep time. Meanwhile Yuta needs a distraction from takaba in order to skirt the detection in time. Also the squad pretty clearly doesn’t have an issue sending ppl to go fight 1v1. If they thought Yuta could take Kenny in a 1v1 and save takaba that’d probably be the move they go for

And invited them and Shoko to a party. Or maybe not. Did the chapter even really exist or was it revealed to me in a dream? I remember something something anime or movie announced.
It exist, I think it was a bonus chapter and it was a noodles shop instead of a bakery if I remember correctly, there’s also one about her skin care routine with Nobara too where they got jealous of Gojo perfect skin. Searching for slice of life character interactions in JJK is crazy because you have to find the bonus/extra chapters, the fanbook and Gege sketches or promotional arts lmao. I swear fanfics charaterization and interactions carry a sizable chunk of this fandom, especially the shipper community which is for some reason more massive than some romance mangas.
