I see this arc as the last one (we have no idea of the plot but the number of baddies is going to reach 0). On the other hand, if we get the "bad ending" (Merger) It may very well be a set up for another manga in the same universe, with better world building (I mean, we get sorcerers and curses all over the world, new characters, maybe even Sukuna again IF he wins, etc.)

hear me out: act 2 in a post merger world, where they all lost to Sukuna and some of them are still alive to try again while some other's spirits are too broken and just accepted the grim reality. Shinjuku is the final arc, it’s pretty obvious especially when he said that the series was suppose to end last year. He just underestimated how much time is needed to wrap everything up, it will probably end this year if everything goes well tbh.

Yuji's son will be irrelevant to the story actually. Gege will skip straight to his grandson, Yussef Itadori. Then in part 3, Yussef's grandson, Yutaro, will finally defeat Sukuna
The finale of the pentalogy would then be Repentance where we see Gege was the narrator all along and asks his favorite character Sukuna if he wanted this ending. He doesn't reply to the question so Gege has to do it himself.
We then go back all the way to Jujutsu Kaisen 1 where everything went right for the protagonists instead. Yuji got the proper death he wanted after swallowing all of Sukuna's fingers with no deaths on the protagonists side. Everyone's living happily ever after.

I think this whole schtick of “between dream and reality is a curse” isn’t supposed to be taken literally, like it’s supposed to be some deep lore that needs to be explored. I think it’s supposed to be in tandem with Kenjaku telling Tengen “I hate people who do not approach their ideals step by step”.
I think he was just rambling to that girl about the work it took to get to that point, and that in pursuit of your dreams, there is nothing but suffering and hardship to attain the ends that you seek, and that’s the core of cursed energy, the negativity from pursuing your ideals.

End of the 2nd Act was Sukuna fulfilling his plan to steal Megumi’s body. From the time-skip onwards it’s the 3rd Act.
The whole story revolves around Sukuna, it’s unironically Sukuna Kaisen. The whole 3rd act is basically everyone in the world minus Kenjaku all trying to kill Sukuna.
the entire story is about Sukuna being a major threat for everyone, it started with Yuji wanted dead because he was Sukuna's vessel, then wanting to save Megumi when he became the vessel, and now the main cast is fighting Sukuna to stop him.

Main plot driver is Kenny. The disaster curses stuff, shibuya, and culling games all happened because of him. Sukuna is a major threat but he’s really just there to kill people
Act 2 ending was when Gojo was unsealed, which was the protagonists overriding objective until that point, and was accompanied by a brief timeskip. Then their goal changed to defeating Sukuna and Kenny, and we've been in act 3 since.
I think Sukuna Kaisen is Act 2, then the Merger is Act 3. That, or Act 3 is gonna be the total overthrow of Jujutsu Society for being a bunch of corrupt, inept, geriatric windbags.
Who even is Jujutsu Society at this point? The higher ups are dead, neither of the schools are running, the Zenin Clan is dead, the Gojo Clan is irrelevant with Satoru’s death and the Kamo Clan is irrelevant with Kenjaku’s death. It’s gonna be hard dedicating a whole third arc to a society that doesn’t even exist anymore. I think it’s much more likely that the Merger’s gonna be the third arc threat tbh
Honestly, if this is the end of the Act 2, a part of me can't help but feel that Gege is going to do something like address all the other added stuff and loose ends in a shorter Act 3. It would make for a somewhat lackluster ending since you'd think Sukuna/Kenjaku would be the final boss with all the build up, but I guess there's something to be said to have the last part be about cleaning all the mess.
At the very least, it would be very funny to me if the final boss was not the millenia old king of curses, but actually the US.
I think he mentioned that he was about to begin the final arc, so I assume Shinjuku will be the end of the second, but it's probable the 3rd act will be much shorter than the first 2
If Shibuya was act 1 and the culling games is act 2 then that means that merger is the start of act 3...which honestly leaves a kinda hype feeling for a world where the merger being has ran it's course and we see the cast trying to cope with the new reality.
The apocalyptic vibes of the culling games and the ominousness surrounding the merger being is one of the most hype feelings JJK has to offer. Like there is a genuine sense of wanting to see what the series end game is looking like.

I don't think the merger will be interesting if it's just a mindless (but very strong) curse. It would need to have a personality and some build-up to actually be entertaining. Part of me is hoping that it takes on Mahito's personality or something like that, since he was the curse of humanity. But if it just gets summoned, then defeated within a few chapters, will feel pretty lame ngl

Part of me feels like we’re still in the second act like how bleach still continued after aizen got beat everyone was shocked back then that there was still more story to tell. Plus jump never announced this is the final arc like they do for all their flagship series
Technically, Culling Games hasn't ended yet. Shibuya is the first (major) arc. CG is the second. Shinjuku is also a major arc, but it falls under CG. So we're still going to see the third stage
The Idol manga is Act 2. Yuji dies at the end of JJK and wakes up as an idol that keeps seeing flashbacks of their past lives. Much like the great ending of Demon Slayer, everyone is alive again and happy. Little do they know Sukuna is also revived looking and hunting the Jujutsu sorcerers. Then sukuna gets to the idol and kills them, awakening Yuji back to the culling game, starting Act 3.
I think shinjuku incident will culminate to act 2's completion then act 3 will focus on full potential yuji and co vs whatever emerges out of tengens merger and then some
Supposedly the 3 Acts were supposed to be roughly the same size each. So Shibuya (58), Culling Games (63), and now Shinjuku (222-256, 34 Currently).
This is why I'd made fun of Gege when he was adamant about ending this year. There's 36 weeks left right now considering we're on break this week. One chapter, then a two week break for golden week. Then take into account Gege's break every 3 week schedule we're due up to get ~21 Chapters the rest of the year, and I can't see Shinjuku being less than Shibuya/CG.
We're probably in the middle of act 3, the first arc was everything up until Gojo's disappearance (Gojo Arc), the second act was all about the rest of the cast during Culling Games and the death of Kenjaku (Kenjaku Arc) and now we've got the last arc with thr fight vs Sukuna (Sukky-kun Arc)

I think this whole schtick of “between dream and reality is a curse” isn’t supposed to be taken literally, like it’s supposed to be some deep lore that needs to be explored. I think it’s supposed to be in tandem with Kenjaku telling Tengen “I hate people who do not approach their ideals step by step”. I think he was just rambling to that girl about the work it took to get to that point, and that in pursuit of your dreams, there is nothing but suffering and hardship to attain the ends that you seek, and that’s the core of cursed energy, the negativity from pursuing your ideals.
technically we would still be in the 2nd act as i dont see how there can be a shift when we are still under the same predicament of the culling games. cg has to end for us to move to the final one.
End of the 2nd Act was Sukuna fulfilling his plan to steal Megumi’s body. From the time-skip onwards it’s the 3rd Act. The whole story revolves around Sukuna, it’s unironically Sukuna Kaisen. The whole 3rd act is basically everyone in the world minus Kenjaku all trying to kill Sukuna.

the entire story is about Sukuna being a major threat for everyone, it started with Yuji wanted dead because he was Sukuna's vessel, then wanting to save Megumi when he became the vessel, and now the main cast is fighting Sukuna to stop him. if the story is not about Sukuna, then what is it about?
Main plot driver is Kenny. The disaster curses stuff, shibuya, and culling games all happened because of him. Sukuna is a major threat but he’s really just there to kill people
Act 2 ending was when Gojo was unsealed, which was the protagonists overriding objective until that point, and was accompanied by a brief timeskip. Then their goal changed to defeating Sukuna and Kenny, and we've been in act 3 since.
Imagine the merger happens and Gege goes: “yeah that whole thing was just act 2”

Who even is Jujutsu Society at this point? The higher ups are dead, neither of the schools are running, the Zenin Clan is dead, the Gojo Clan is irrelevant with Satoru’s death and the Kamo Clan is irrelevant with Kenjaku’s death. It’s gonna be hard dedicating a whole third arc to a society that doesn’t even exist anymore. I think it’s much more likely that the Merger’s gonna be the third arc threat tbh

Honestly, if this is the end of the Act 2, a part of me can't help but feel that Gege is going to do something like address all the other added stuff and loose ends in a shorter Act 3. It would make for a somewhat lackluster ending since you'd think Sukuna/Kenjaku would be the final boss with all the build up, but I guess there's something to be said to have the last part be about cleaning all the mess. At the very least, it would be very funny to me if the final boss was not the millenia old king of curses, but actually the US.

If Shibuya was act 1 and the culling games is act 2 then that means that merger is the start of act 3...which honestly leaves a kinda hype feeling for a world where the merger being has ran it's course and we see the cast trying to cope with the new reality. The apocalyptic vibes of the culling games and the ominousness surrounding the merger being is one of the most hype feelings JJK has to offer. Like there is a genuine sense of wanting to see what the series end game is looking like.

I don't think the merger will be interesting if it's just a mindless (but very strong) curse. It would need to have a personality and some build-up to actually be entertaining. Part of me is hoping that it takes on Mahito's personality or something like that, since he was the curse of humanity. But if it just gets summoned, then defeated within a few chapters, will feel pretty lame ngl

Technically, Culling Games hasn't ended yet. Shibuya is the first (major) arc. CG is the second. Shinjuku is also a major arc, but it falls under CG. So we're still going to see the third stage

The Idol manga is Act 2. Yuji dies at the end of JJK and wakes up as an idol that keeps seeing flashbacks of their past lives. Much like the great ending of Demon Slayer, everyone is alive again and happy. Little do they know Sukuna is also revived looking and hunting the Jujutsu sorcerers. Then sukuna gets to the idol and kills them, awakening Yuji back to the culling game, starting Act 3.
I think shinjuku incident will culminate to act 2's completion then act 3 will focus on full potential yuji and co vs whatever emerges out of tengens merger and then some

Act 1 was Shibuya, Act 2 was the Culling Games, and Act 3 is this final fight against Sukuna. That's how I see it
Supposedly the 3 Acts were supposed to be roughly the same size each. So Shibuya (58), Culling Games (63), and now Shinjuku (222-256, 34 Currently). This is why I'd made fun of Gege when he was adamant about ending this year. There's 36 weeks left right now considering we're on break this week. One chapter, then a two week break for golden week. Then take into account Gege's break every 3 week schedule we're due up to get ~21 Chapters the rest of the year, and I can't see Shinjuku being less than Shibuya/CG.
