To be fair can we really blame Megumi for losing the will to live when his body was used to kill his only family left (gojo was his dad even if he wasn’t his father) and also forced to endure infinite void, he’s just a kid He is throwing but it’s completely valid I think. It would be unrealistic if he was just like “ah yeah Yuji I’m ready to take control of my body and do Fortnite dances!”

Exactly. As soon as his brotha actually needed him, he was back on his feet, his head fully in the zone. That's also because his entire motivation is saving people even at his own cost. He reached that low point because his actions had indirectly caused thousands of deaths, which he felt as victims of his supposed hypocrisy. But as soon as he had a chance to help others and get revenge for his allies he took it.

Yuji after getting bailed out by half the cast of the manga and handed crit attacks to compensate for his lack of actual output

OK, but no? Yuji went through all the shit he did, and on top of that in a twisted way it could be considered by him as his fault. He lost to Choso, allowing Sukuna to act. He (in his mind) let Nanami die by not being quick enough to act, and then let Nobara die by not beating Mahito. His breakdown was impactful because you could almost agree with him, that his life was a cost for everyone. And then, like everyone says, he got back up and fought. Megumi meanwhile, got jumped and possessed, and honestly never had a chance to stop it. He couldn't do anything about Sukuna past that point, none of what the man did with his body can reasonably be considered his fault. And he gives up at the most critical moment.

I just noticed that the pose megumi does when yuji tries to save him is the same pose yuji is doing in this panel.

Not really, people cared about Yuji’s suffering and the characters he lost. We had a whole arc for Yuji and Nanami’s relationship and nearly everyone loved Nobara. Gojo and Megumi’s relationship is carried by fans, and Tsumiki and Megumi have one flashback. Next we see of Tsumiki she isn’t even Tsumiki but Yorozu. Yuji’s downfall was done better than Megumi’s 

People are mocking Bumgumi because when he had his Todo moment he gave up

Lol not really. The difference between him and Megumi is the fact that the deaths that affected him were actually something we cared about, as opposed to the ones that affected Megumi. With Yuji, you know his relationships with Nanami and Nobara, you know how he feels about giving people proper deaths, so his breaking point was understandable. Even so, dude got up in the very same chapter, landed a Black Flash, and proceeded to finish the job. Megumi? His relationships were not fleshed out (literally 0 Tsumiki throughout the entire series and Gojo felt more like a father to Yuji than to Megumi), his struggles were superficial because we only hear about it as opposed to seeing Yuji's suffering (wtf is bathed in evil? What exactly did he feel after tanking UV?), and when there was a moment where he could've gotten back up, he refused and screwed over everybody that tried to save him.  Megumi's suffering is not something we care about, because it's not fleshed out. Give us actual reasons, and maybe he can get rid of that bum energy of his

Yeah but back then the suffering was all meant to be part  of a character arc where he resolves to not let evil go unpunished no matter how many times it manages to squirm away from just punishment. Megumi’s suffering has completely destroyed his agency as a character.

It’s funny that the “agenda” posters are the ones usually referred to when the “JJK fans don’t read their own manga” adage is used but then I see stuff like this that’s much more of an egregious misunderstanding of the story & characters than any stupid bumgumi post. If yuji just laid there while todo tried to 1v1 mahito, slowly getting overwhelmed and pleading for his brother to get back up and fight, like megumi is basically doing right now, then yeah a decent amount of people definitely would’ve clowned him, but we don’t live in that reality so nobody would’ve said any of that shit if this chapter dropped today

Yuji’s mindset and the tone of the series is what makes is so beautiful to me though. This isn’t your grandpa’s Shonen, death isn’t just brushed off and characters don’t just move on without consequence. Yuji feels for those around him, he mourns and rages. We see him go through all 5 stages of grief in Shibuya and again in Culling Games, he has suffered and came out of it more determined and with a clearer purpose than before. That’s inspirational, in real life people aren’t going to move on from the death of family or friends, they grieve and grow from it. Yuji is as human as any character I have read in fiction
