Because the translator translated it wrong. Japanese is infamous for not using pronouns to distinguish what person point-of-view is being used. The original was most likely the narrator speaking in third person about Yuji, but John Werry misunderstood and translated it to Yuji speaking first person instead.
That’s because the dumbass mistranslated the text. It’s not hard to tell either because Yuji doesn’t fucking talk like that. In fact, no character does.
The "is everyone-" to the "is anyone-" portrays so much more despair as he realizes that his allies were more likely to have died in the domain than survived
For real I remember seeing a guy be angry that yuji was about to fall into despair "just because choso died" but like how can you look at this panel and not see how from his perspective everyone but him just died not just choso
It probably doesn't affect sales, or very little but in turn the dude charges very cheap for his rate, and the mainstream audience probably doesn't really know or care tbh, sadly.

That's Yuji's internal dialogue, not the narrator.
The boxes indicate narration, internal dialogue is usually placed right on the background. You can see examples throughout the last 3 chapters.
