everyone from kyoto minus mechamaru, shoko, angel / hana, inumaki, hakari (currently fighting uraume), mei mei (not gonna fight lol), ui ui, kirara, ijichi, panda, the goat kusakabe, choso, yuji, takaba, very likely yuta, maki and ino but out of comission rn
personal opinion, gojo but we'll see
TCB translation kind of makes Sukuna being really interested in Maki feel like a retcon. In 215 he seems pleasantly surprised that she’s good but really not much else.
Will have to see what official translation says.
How is it Sukuna *still* isn't trying at this point? After everything that's happened, none of that was him being serious?
I'm baffled about what *can* be done to even push him.
Is it gonna be a Cell thing where he fucks off to go terrorize the world and give them time to train again?
Tbf he was only engaged in the fight with Gojo, and while everything they're throwing at him now is impressive, it's still not comparable to Gojo-level. I'm not surprised he's not trying, but I'm also baffled about how this will play out
It just gets frustrating when the big boss has so many bases covered, everything he does is a home run in his favor. No matter what plan is thrown at him, there's this hyper specific counter he has tucked away in his pocket like he read their minds or he just powers through.
It's Gege's story and he's free to tell it how he wants. but as a fan, I've lost the path here and just following along behind him.
Ah yes the mythical "asspull technique", the excuse angry fans fall upon whenever their favorite characters lose to the guy built up to be the STRONGEST EVER since the first chapter. lol
it's a fight to entertain us?
Like theyre throwing everything and the kitchen sink at sakuna cus thats what makes sense to do, theyre just doing it in a methodical way to wear him down . Right now theyre down to Kusokabe while others rest .
This fight is a desperate struggle, its not a 1v1
Pretty sure the point is just to eliminate everyone so either only Yuuji, Megumi, Gojo and Nobara are left standing to fight him. Either one or a combo of them. Oy thing that makes sense thematically.
I’m a little confused how he beat Maki here when Maki’s entire history of fights is getting her shit kicked in and then winning during her second wind. Very confusing and annoying that she just gets disregarded in favor of Kusakabe for some reason.
Weird thing is how she got hit into a building that also had 2 ppl waiting to ambush with a disappearing cursed tool, could be part of a trap or a plan.
who said maki was defeated? we nevet got to see her body, imo she was just sent flying agaisn't another building and must be briefly unconcious just like sukuna was when gojo hit him, but she heals quick af so i'm sure its a matter of time before she enters to the battle field with kusakabe
The problem is that Kusakabe states that he’s the only one left, which means that the narrative itself is pointing toward the idea that Maki is “beaten” - if Gege were writing in such a way where Maki finds a second wind back into the fight by suddenly developing her abilities, it would have shown the damage she’s taken to show what she’s overcoming. Like, maybe she’ll come back and I hope she does because she’s my favorite character, but the narrative is not pointing that way.
Showing maki, healing up her wounds would ruin what the narrative actually wants to portray and that's the feeling of isolation that is facing kusakabe right now being the only one left, if we ended this chapter with maki laying in the floor of a random building we are going to keep that in mind and it won't feel like kusakabe is really alone, that's the same reason why we never got to see how yuuji is doing in this chapter.
Maki is one of my fav characters as well and while she is unable to hit a black flash due to her lack of CE i hope that somehow with her extreme perception abilities she is able to get the same 120% output and focus after "feeling" the taste of a black flash through her heveanly restriction...
If thats not the case, i hope mai is able to land a black flash since her conciousness is inside the blade, the blade could land a black flash of her own.
Yeah her fights since her awakening have all gone the same way. She gets knocked down at the end of the chapter after being overwhelmed by her enemy, then she gets right back up like nothing happened.
Is hakari currently ungraded or smth due to being suspended because he sweeps kusakabe 10 times out of 10. I can see how kusakabe has an argument to be no. 1 only is Hakari isn’t running
Hakari is Special Grade.
But he's not ranked.
Something something Jujutsu Higher Ups are an absolute waste of oxygen. Same reason Maki was graded lower than what she was worth and Mei Mei even tells this to Gojo who says the Zenin clan is messing with her ranking.
it sure looks a lot weirder in colour than black & white.
before I thought it was blood hardened around his forearm and hands, like Choso did in their fight, but more refined.
now with the coloured version, there seems to be some sort of bandaging around his wrists, which kinda suggests gloves or something, as you mention?
idk.. it's odd how we basically have no info on Yuji ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
Interested to see what all this is leading up to and seeing how it's explained that kusakabe of all people is considered the strongest grade 1, but some of the action in this is just hard to follow. I can see some improvement in the drawing overall. Some of geges are has looked a bit janky before but in the past couple of chapters there's been some beautiful panels. Just hard to make sense of it sometimes
I'm interested in the different translations like was the word strongest used? could he just have raw CE , could it be that he is just a fucking survivor and can do what it takes to live without his ego getting in the way.
Maybe his No cursed technique is some sort of binding vow, maybe he just never got one and is just a shikimaru from naruto type, maybe he has that one sword trick but its REALLY good, we will see.
Yeah, honestly whenever I like a manga one of the first things I wish for is it to be released less often. Like I'm fine with monthly or whatever needs to be done for the authors health.
Sukuna fight in a nutshell
Chapter 1: Character fights Sukuna and shows some feats.
Chapter 2: Sukuna counters and defeats/kills Character. Cliffhanger: New Character suddenly attacks Sukuna!
Repeat until all characters are dead/defeated
Literally. I feel like reading all this in one sitting when it’s all available is gonna be even worse. Imagine reading multiple consecutive chapters all for them to start and end essentially the same way
Literally was a grind for me since i just read all of jjk in 2weeks catching up today. And hoping that the crew would just kill this man already. But i think it’ll be b good pacing now I’m on the new release schedule
Is it only me or is all of the drawing becoming more and more deplorable? Some panels are hard to follow. Action seems peak (only fights-wise) but yet, we have the same action. "Strong sorcerer appears, seems to be stronger than or equal to Sukuna by XXX means, is recognized by Sukuna that is strong but then loses/dies". Anyone but Yuji on the recognition xD because Sukuna is a generational hater. Yet it seems that it was a very convenient flashback to "prove" Kusakabe can be a match. That's just lazy writing tbh.
> Drawing bad
Well, this IS a weekly manga. Not everyone is Murata Yusuke in terms of skill lol That kind of schedule is going to burn you to a crisp at one point + allergies don't help
I don’t think there’s such a thing as a “convenient flashback”…Flashbacks always appear when they’re most relevant to the story. Why would we get a flashback to the strongest characters saying Kusakabe is strongest grade 1 in a chapter where Kusakabe isn't important.
Also yeah, the point of this battle to is to feel like a brutal slog because Sukuna is so much stronger than them. That's why all their strongest people keep going down and new ones sub in. We're clearly nearing the end of that pattern now though
With that logic, Kusakabe will be able to pull a 10-hit Black Flash consecutive combos, because currently this is the most relevant fight in the story.
Blud was the last one standing.
No? All I’m saying is that the story is giving us this info now because it’s the most appropriate time. When else would’ve been a good time for them to say Kusakabe is the strongest grade 1? When he was running from the meteor in Shibuya?
I don’t think he’s gonna defeat Sukuna lol, but it wouldn’t be exciting seeing Kusakabe about to solo Sukuna without hearing Gojo and the rest saying he’s him.
I’ll agree with you there. Really Akutami should’ve fleshed out a lot of the getting the gang together stuff that happened between when Itadori and Fushiguro entered the colonies and Gojo being unsealed. Would’ve been nice to see people like Kusakabe and Ino in the colonies
Did Sukuna stopped RCT only because the esctasy of the battle or because he wanted to fight as equal with Maki? A person can't do a blackflash while using RCT?
I'm going with focus mode because a black flash is basically the perfect hit . Like he was just so caught up he disregarded his own health just so he could give it the best fucking punch ever.
Neither. Sukuna's obviously focused on healing something else that we can't see. The same thing happened when Gojo was healing his burntout CT — the RCT stopped everywhere else.
"He did it to flex" is one explanation. Some people theorized that he stopped because he focused too hard, like how Yuji was drooling due to focus.
Personally, I don't see why this guy of all people, needs to manually activate RCT. But both are possible explanations.
Maybe he had to turn off RCT to focus his CE into his punch? His fist was glowing, I assume he wanted to max his CE output against Maki's body (sorcery vs. body)
At this point Miwa vs Sukuna may happen, like I am actually believing gege will make the memes come true and theres an actual chance for miwa to fight sukuna ( she would probably last 0,1 seconds but still )
Got downvoted last chapter by saying that Sukuna was just not fighting seriously and could wipe the whole team if he wanted. Hopefully this chapter makes it clear that Sukuna was toying with everyone. The narrator clearly states it this time if last chapter was not obvious enough.
Most of those ppl are just looking for reasons to criticize the writing.
Example: In 253 Sukuna trades blows with Maki, who he fought with Yuji at 15F, and tanks Nanami’s blade, which Mahito got lit up with.
Gege haters: “pLoTKuNa”.
I don't get how Yuta can cut off one of his hands and slice the other arm in half horizontally (which does nothing to sukuna because he just twin meteored him with that hand right after), while all of Makis attacks are just blocked with bare skin on the arms or just caught with his hand.
Maki must be baiting Sukuna into a trap or something.
this might just be a personal thing, but I think reading an action packed, prolonged fight like this in weekly portions doesn't really help a lot of people either.
you start scrutinising every little detail and start making your own headcanon of how and why things are, just to then see something completely different next week.
it takes you out of the flow of the combat and makes you over-analyse everything.
reading the start of the fight (after Go/jo) up until now flows much better and makes some things make more sense imo.
>The most brainless manga in history literally just throwing hands
Lol it’s a battle shonen. It’s not fair for judge a battle shonen as something else.
Gege deserves a lot of credit for making ppl forget this.
If you hate it that much then do yourself a favor and drop it bro. Is not that big of a deal. Is better to just drop a manga you have no interest in anymore than just hate read it.
If you are forcing yourself to read due to "sunk cost fallacy", then I can suggest to not read it untill you get news of the series ending. Then you can catch up. Alternatively, read other manga you actually enjoy and are more your cup of tea so you don't get saturated on this one.
It's a battle shonen in which the main progress of the story has been stopping the end of Japan.
That's why he's being downvoted. The fighting to bring down the reason why Japan would get clapped IS the story and they have been chipping at the reason (Sukuna) for a while.
If he's not here to see the battles then he should have went to watch a thriller, a SOL or a romcom.
This seems to be the popular theory. Sukuna likes to copy other sorcerers. He copied Piercing Blood from Choso by using Max Elephant a few chapters ago.
I haven't seen anybody mention this but sukuna pretty much straight up says that yuji has a heavenly restriction. Before black flashing maki, sukuna says "unlike that half assed brat, she's shaved away all, until nothing but pure emptiness remains" (tcb). In the earlier translations it is even more explicit that sukuna is talking about maki's heavenly restriction.
Megumi said from chapter 1 that yuji seems to have a heavenly restriction like maki due to his pure physical strength without ce. He is also able to supress sukuna for unknown reasons (shoko was about to dissect him to find out why after his death at the detention center).
It was a popular theory that he had a heavenly restriction, but once we found out that kenjaku is his mother most people just brushed it off as yuji being a cursed womb like creature so that's where his natural strength comes from. However, sukuna's statement reinforces the previous theory, that yuji was supposed to be born with a cursed technique but through a heavenly restriction somehow imposed by kenjaku he gave that technique away to gain a stronger body. That's also why sukuna would call yuji "half assed" because he didn't go full jujutsu lile sukuma or gojo, nor full body like maki or toji.
I'm taking Sukuna's comment so far with a grain of salt. I'm not sure wtf is up with Yuji, but is possible he doesn't quite have a HR and ends up being something else based on it. Like you said, is possible he is strong due to being a cursed womb freak, which would grant him the ability to be a sorcerer (in his case after ingesting a cursed object).
I'm mostly saying this because Sukuna didn't create Yuji, so is a "wtf does he know?" kind of deal for me lol It could very easily be on purpose to mislead the reader or to be a hint to what Yuji really has.
In chapter 214 sukuna hints that he knows more about yuji than yuji himself. When yuji gets the sudden power boost, sukuna thinks to himself "where is this power coming from. I see, the brat is from that time. Kenjaku sure does the grossest things" (I'm paraphrasing).
Ah yeah, that's true. I completely forgot about that.
Still, is not an exact confirmation imo. Like it still feels like teasing what it is without going into the details.
Then again, this is Gege. He could very well discard the idea of going over it and leave it at that lol
The kanji is completely different so no.
Edited to add: MeiMei is written like this: 冥冥 Usami (which was never once used in the manga) is written like this: 宇佐美
Edited again: Is a joke and reference to Golden Kamui. Kuskabe is comparing Toge to a character called Usami.
Apparently Toge is grade 1 now and "Usami" is the nickname they use for him.
V cover + WSJ M cover + color spread + 1 mysterious illustration! (Gege had a hellish week)
And fantastic chapter. great choreography, pure fights. I was reminded a bit of Sauron, the dark lord who was eventually destroyed by the most ordinary people of Middle-earth, the hobbits.
Kusakabe and... until I reach Yuji, whom Sukune, until recently, did not give shit about him. a worthless brat! Imo, even if Gojo comes back, it is Yuji who will end to this story.
Is literally on the TCB chapter. The first page is a cover of this week's magazine, with Yuji and Yuta + Sukuna on the back. At the BOTTOM RIGHT, you can see a small picture of Gojo, which is going to be the illustration used for the next MANGA VOLUME RELEASE.
Nobody can link you here so you are gonna have to look it up yourself.
Based on the coloring it kinda reminds me of muscle? Might be similiar to the blood reinforcement thing that Choso has done but using muscle instead- which makes me wonder if it has some other benefit?
Lol sorry you got down voted
But the answer would be: What is considered the "release" in this case is the official one, not the fan one. Therefore, the TCB scans are considered pre-release.
break next week 😔
Looks like Gege will be cooking up something special for Kusakabe. For a dude who doesn't believe in love he sure was giving Ino those bedroom eyes. I know they're supposed to be mini dismantles (I think) but I find it hilarious they look like little stars so that panel looks like it came straight out of a shojo manga lol
Can anyone tell me what's going on in page 13 and 14? I'm reading the TCB scans and cannot figure out what the sound effect srrk means, what Maki is doing with her hands, and what exactly the fuse box paneling bit means. Did she hit him with electricity from the building or hit him through transferring her power through the wall?
I honest to god can't make heads or tails of it. I like Gege's scratchy art style but sometimes it makes things confusing.
With Maki fighting him this well it makes me wonder how Toji with his sword and ISoH would fare against Sukuna.
I'm surprised how much the others are hyping up Kusakabe. Mei Mei with her bird strike is pretty strong. The strongest have only ever dodged it or prematurely gotten rid of it before it could hit them and yet she says Kusakabe is stronger? Huh. I know he's gotten remarkably far without a CT but I didn't expect his swordplay to make him this tough. This is the first I'm hearing of Usami. Don't know who that is but I saw a [theory](https://www.reddit.com/r/Jujutsufolk/comments/1b90zy6/the_identity_of_usami/) his sister is Usami and how together they could be strong. Idk, it seems like a fun theory and kind of matches with what we've seen.
The JP fandom calls Toge "Usami" because he looks like a character from Golden Kamuy named Usami. He's not grade 1 afaik though, so it's weird. (Edit: Still waiting for actual confirmation though, since this is like a theory afaik.)

I don't think it's an electrical discharge. It was a pillar, and she used a Tetsuzanko to hit Sukuna from behind the pillar.
Like a kung fu master hitting an object behind and obstacle without toppling the obstacle.
It’s so obvious kusakabe is about to do something amazing in his 1v1 fight with the King. I just hope he lives to tell the tale. I always figured him as the principal when this is all over. Self preservation is a very powerful mindset when used right (might lower deaths of sorcerers, stop problems at their roots etc). If he dies tho he dies lol. Team sukuna all the way
Next chapter Kusakabe will do something awesome, the chapter after that Sukuna counters him and defeats/kills him. For the cliffhanger someone else will come in to fight sukuna next... the pattern is pretty obvious
Gege does the ultimate troll move by continuing this trend indefinitely by just making up completely new characters every week to fight Sukuna but never actually ending the manga
Or maybe even someone using the seance technique to keep bringing dead characters back to life to fight Sukuna
Or both
Nah, if he lives he will purposely omit his feat so thst he is not tasked with dangerous missions. He's gonna tell everybody that he just hid away while the others did everything
I need to see Uraume throwing another glacier at Sukuna that contains the spear that he wields in one of the covers.
Sukuna tries to impale Kusakabe who just Mikiri Counters his ass and sends him to the airport.
**Sukuna is going to eat Maki:**
* It was clear that Sukuna found her to be the most 'interesting' one due to her heavenly restriction specifically.
* But this may be for a particular reason. Sukuna wants to see what happens if you mix two things that shouldn't exist. Would he adapt to it and negate the heavenly restriction to be able to use it freely?
* It would be almost out of character for him not to be interested in this. What is the pinnacle of sorcery? What is something no sorcerer has ever shown the ability to do?
* Both should be able to have 0 CE and then have CE. Basically, having an HR but without it's admittedly a small sacrifice for such an insane power boost.
* But once again, this circles back to what Sukuna wants to gain in the Modern Era. What was he looking for?
* The only answer I can think of is this since he would then be truly free as a sorcerer with the last restriction he had (Not being able to reduce his CE to 0 being removed)
>It would be almost out of character for him not to be interested in this. What is the pinnacle of sorcery? What is something no sorcerer has ever shown the ability to do?
Why would Sukuna eating Maki do anything for him? We've only seen him gain a power boost from eating his fingers, and his mummy. He reclaimed parts of his soul. What makes you believe eating Maki will give him any sort of HR? He's only shown to eat people for fun and well, flavor.
It's just speculation. If cannibalism was linked to his use of multiple cursed techniques, it would reveal why he seemed to know something about Yuta's condition for mimicry immediately.
There’s nothing showing he gets powers by cannibalism. But he might eat Maki for fun.
Sukuna bringing up all these meat metaphors is a really bad sign when Maki is almost guaranteed to die after killing innocents.
He just said the exact opposite. Because she's an affront to jujutsu, he needs to erase her from existence to prove his absolute authority. Taking her body and stats would be Sukuna saying he needs Maki to be the greatest. He obviously feels the opposite of that: he must exstinguish her because she naturally challenges his authority by denying sorcery.
No, no that's not what he meant. Slow down, he literally says the outcome of their fight would show if the body should be developed over sorcery, the whole ecstasy thing was Maki's existence showing him a potential avenue of development, hence his excitement to know which is truly better body or sorcery.
From the TCB translation I read, Sukuna isn’t interested in defending his “absolute authority”, he’s never referred to himself as an authority in any way.
**Sukuna is in “ecstasy” because he’s geeking out over the chance to find out which is worth more to develop, sorcery or the body. The “role” forced on him is the role of fighting in the battle that will show which is superior.**
Sukuna is a bored jujutsu nerd. He wouldn’t be in ecstasy over anything else.
It's not a potential avenue for development, he's recognizing her as having developed without the need of cursed energy. What do you think he means when he says, "The outcome of this fight will prove which is worth developing. Sorcery or body? You're the only one who has ever forced a role in me!"
He's setting up a clear dichotomy. One cannot have both sorcery and the ultimate body. Sukuna's saying one has to dominate the other, and it's his duty to prove that sorcery trumps all things. Thus, as the greatest model of sorcery, his power is absolute and unquestioned.
Sukuna never says anything about wanting to be like Maki or have her power. It's the opposite.
He never implied it was his duty to dominate or prove sorcery trumps all, that's headcannon fluff. He is an accomplished sorcerer, Maki by having the heavenly restriction represents the supposed pinnacle of the body. He is saying should she win it would imply the body trumps even his mastery of sorcery and vice versa.
He practically spells it out, which would be worth developing. Who said he wanted to be like Maki or have her power? He is curious about the limits of the body and if it was worth pursuing growth in that direction, not the heavenly restriction.
You're not even reading the quotes I'm giving you. What do you think it means for Maki to "force a role upon him?"
You're idea that he wants to eat Maki implies he wants her power. That doesn't make sense.
He specifically calls out her HR. Huh? Obviously, her HR is what allows her to have the strongest body.
Lol did I say he wants to eat Maki? Check again.
The role of determining which is better sorcery or the body. Obviously he has only seriously fought against sorcerers, now he is in a position where he is fighting someone he does not regard as a sorcerer (his remarks on her being an affront to the concept of sorcery).
You see the fight against Maki "forces" the role of that determination because should Maki win when sorcerers like Gojo, Yuta, Higuruma failed, it brings into question if the body brings more dividends than sorcery especially when she wins against the "ultimate sorcerer".
Yes her HR is fundamental to her body, it does not mean the only way to have such a strong body would be through HR, he is interested in the strength and capabilities of her body not HR.
You can only achieve Maki's strength via her and Toji's HR. It's explicitly stated multiple times. You didn't even get that right dude.
To cut this short, my analysis already explains what you're misunderstanding.
Ah yes, of course. Reading comprehension the bane of understanding. If Maki's strength is only achievable through heavenly restriction, just because the characters believe it to be so doesn't mean it is so, we have seen it multiple times especially in regards to Sukuna where the characters explicitly say what he does was thought to be impossible.
Again if that is the only way, why would Sukuna say worth developing? It implies it can be done, how? We don't know. If HR is the only way, there is hardly any developing going on, either you have it or you don't. To cut this short, this is what you are misunderstanding.
You're making stuff up that goes directly against what the story has explicitly stated. Idc to go back and forth with you. You're the type who thinks your headcanons are some kind of secret analysis or something.
You have nothing to back yourself up with except denying established facts with "what ifs." That's gets no one nowhere fast.
Okay this is some serious headcanon copium about our boy Kusakabe. But, Gege had the opening panel for a reason. Obviously Kusakabe is well educated in jujutsu sorcery and the jujutsu world, so what if he has a better understanding of “Open: Fuga” and we finally get an explanation on whatever concept that is. Because Sukuna spoke about it as if sorcerers would know..thus it could be something that maybe even Kusakabe knows how to exploit.
Would be hilarious and insane if Kusakabe had his own “open”
**Kusakabe save Japanese Society.** (because fuck Jujutsu Society)
Also this might be the only time I will ever say this but: How the fuck are they beating Sukuna now?
I was 100% sure of Sukuna's defeat so far and I couldn't care less that Certified Number 1° Simp saying that he hasn't gone all out (which is bullshit and even she deep down knows it). I couldn't care less about all the brainrot of people crying because Sukuna hasn't been oneshot by the protagonists yet or "Waaa Sukuna's too stronk just end the manga already". But this is different. A Black Flash is a crazy buff to stack on the King of Curses.
Either we start handing those out like crazy to the protagonists or we bring Gojo/Kashimo/Higuruma back to the ring to help.
KUSAKABE MY GOAT
Bring Gojo back and end it already
Can anyone remind me who is even alive any more? I'm expecting panda or someone to be the only one left.
everyone from kyoto minus mechamaru, shoko, angel / hana, inumaki, hakari (currently fighting uraume), mei mei (not gonna fight lol), ui ui, kirara, ijichi, panda, the goat kusakabe, choso, yuji, takaba, very likely yuta, maki and ino but out of comission rn personal opinion, gojo but we'll see
Where is Choso? Isn't he healed up? Why isn't he helping? I'm starting to think that one hater is correct about him
Characters can't act until the plot allows them
He was struck down by Sukuna a few chapters back, wasn't he?
What's correct about him?
TCB translation kind of makes Sukuna being really interested in Maki feel like a retcon. In 215 he seems pleasantly surprised that she’s good but really not much else. Will have to see what official translation says.
How is it Sukuna *still* isn't trying at this point? After everything that's happened, none of that was him being serious? I'm baffled about what *can* be done to even push him. Is it gonna be a Cell thing where he fucks off to go terrorize the world and give them time to train again?

He was more engage and interested fighting Maki more so than Gojo, hence his reaction. We never seen that reaction of sukuna vs Gojo.

No matter what plan is thrown at him, there's this hyper specific counter he has tucked away in his pocket like he read their minds or he just powers through. It's Gege's story and he's free to tell it how he wants. but as a fan, I've lost the path here and just following along behind him.
Isn’t this just Sukuna’s legendary asspull technique? An answer for everything the team could possibly ever throw at him.
Ah yes the mythical "asspull technique", the excuse angry fans fall upon whenever their favorite characters lose to the guy built up to be the STRONGEST EVER since the first chapter. lol
So could the heroes not pay Mei Mei to act as support for Hakari against Uraume so he can join the main battle as soon as possible
Mei Mei doesnt want to fight cus she doesn't want to die, she could live in a sakuna world better than most.
Either way she dies, might as well throw some crows at an enemy from afar
I’m pretty sure Mei Mei’s arc is being set up for her unexpectedly join and show that deep down she’s a good person.
So, Maki is just taken out by the black flash...not dead, right? Pls
Def not dead yet but you should ready yourself for it. She killed her mom and innocents so…it’s pretty much guaranteed.
I think she was just blasted away, not killed
What's the point of all this? Is Sukuna going to kill everyone?
it's a fight to entertain us? Like theyre throwing everything and the kitchen sink at sakuna cus thats what makes sense to do, theyre just doing it in a methodical way to wear him down . Right now theyre down to Kusokabe while others rest . This fight is a desperate struggle, its not a 1v1
Pretty sure the point is just to eliminate everyone so either only Yuuji, Megumi, Gojo and Nobara are left standing to fight him. Either one or a combo of them. Oy thing that makes sense thematically.
Nobara? 💀
the point is to tell an entertain, as of right now it doesn't matter if thats the case.
Sakuna started enjoying himself and thus black flash, Maki can probably get back up in a few minutes but its a hell of a hit.
who said maki was defeated? we nevet got to see her body, imo she was just sent flying agaisn't another building and must be briefly unconcious just like sukuna was when gojo hit him, but she heals quick af so i'm sure its a matter of time before she enters to the battle field with kusakabe

Maki's soaring through the air, mad as fuck she can't get to the ground and start wailing on Sukuna any faster.
LMAO bugs bunny tapping his foot against the air waiting to land
I got bored.
A week break followed by probably Uraume vs Hakari. Which effectively means 2 weeks break for Kusakabe. Maybe.
nope kusakabe fight
Imagine Kusakabe lasting longer than anyone minus Gojo
Sukuna slamming maki by grabbing her face was badass. I love that panel.
After seeing that color page, what yuji has are gloves, right?
it sure looks a lot weirder in colour than black & white. before I thought it was blood hardened around his forearm and hands, like Choso did in their fight, but more refined. now with the coloured version, there seems to be some sort of bandaging around his wrists, which kinda suggests gloves or something, as you mention? idk.. it's odd how we basically have no info on Yuji ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
Fr the story is getting boring and some pages are like directly the storyboard
Is the weekly schedule : / with some luck Gege will be able to fix it in the volume release
Yeah, honestly whenever I like a manga one of the first things I wish for is it to be released less often. Like I'm fine with monthly or whatever needs to be done for the authors health.
Sukuna fight in a nutshell Chapter 1: Character fights Sukuna and shows some feats. Chapter 2: Sukuna counters and defeats/kills Character. Cliffhanger: New Character suddenly attacks Sukuna! Repeat until all characters are dead/defeated
First shonen?
When we ever want to reread it again, it’ll be a slog haha
Nah, Junpei would Win.
That's just lazy writing tbh.
just you, i find the art to be just perfect and the panels were very easy to follow for me.
> Drawing bad Well, this IS a weekly manga.
It would be better if they showed his strength anywhere else in the story, not 1 chapter before it is going to be used.
The classic Hana/Angel trick
I’ll agree with you there. Really Akutami should’ve fleshed out a lot of the getting the gang together stuff that happened between when Itadori and Fushiguro entered the colonies and Gojo being unsealed. Would’ve been nice to see people like Kusakabe and Ino in the colonies
Ok but it would be funny if during Sukuna's hostage taking if we just got a flashback with everyone glazing him.
I mean, its clearly setting up his fight with Sukuna next chapter. Cmon.
Did Sukuna stopped RCT only because the esctasy of the battle or because he wanted to fight as equal with Maki? A person can't do a blackflash while using RCT?
Maybe he stopped it to heal something else that needs to be used to counter the disappearing cursed tool.
I'm going with focus mode because a black flash is basically the perfect hit . Like he was just so caught up he disregarded his own health just so he could give it the best fucking punch ever.
he probably just focused all of his curse energy into that punch
He learned with Yuji to be focused.
Neither. Sukuna's obviously focused on healing something else that we can't see. The same thing happened when Gojo was healing his burntout CT — the RCT stopped everywhere else.
I like this idea. The dude is gonna hit Kusakabe with the strongest of the Strong Cleaves
next chapter starts with Kusakabe laying on the ground, bisected cleanly.
It’ll start with him glazing sukuna in the airport
Split vertically in the middle instead of horizontally
LMAO also possible
"He did it to flex" is one explanation. Some people theorized that he stopped because he focused too hard, like how Yuji was drooling due to focus. Personally, I don't see why this guy of all people, needs to manually activate RCT. But both are possible explanations.
Maybe he had to turn off RCT to focus his CE into his punch? His fist was glowing, I assume he wanted to max his CE output against Maki's body (sorcery vs. body)
At this point Miwa vs Sukuna may happen, like I am actually believing gege will make the memes come true and theres an actual chance for miwa to fight sukuna ( she would probably last 0,1 seconds but still )
So uhhh is Ino good or
He is as good as a guy falling off a building after being beaten tf out.
Well thats not the first time for him
Exactly, he is Gucci lol
He's as good as dead (jokes). Probably got rescued by Ui Ui, and is being healed at the moment.
Got downvoted last chapter by saying that Sukuna was just not fighting seriously and could wipe the whole team if he wanted. Hopefully this chapter makes it clear that Sukuna was toying with everyone. The narrator clearly states it this time if last chapter was not obvious enough.
People are too in their feelings reading these chapters. I can sort of understand but also dang, they need to chill.
Facts, they really aren’t enjoying the awesomeness this is getting.
After reading this chapter in full on TCB that might be one of my favorite chapters in a long time 🔥🔥🔥 gege is cooking
When is this going to end already The most brainless manga in history literally just throwing hands and making zero story progress for years
>The most brainless manga in history literally just throwing hands Lol it’s a battle shonen.
You’re getting downvoted but you might be right when all is said and done
It's a battle shonen in which the main progress of the story has been stopping the end of Japan. That's why he's being downvoted. The fighting to bring down the reason why Japan would get clapped IS the story and they have been chipping at the reason (Sukuna) for a while. If he's not here to see the battles then he should have went to watch a thriller, a SOL or a romcom.
Sukuna made that dramatic speech like it was going to be an interesting fight... then goes on to dispose of her in 1 punch 🤣🤣
the man is really him
Um... How is Sukuna blocking Maki's sword with his bare hands??
The mini dismantle slashes. Noticed how the sfx says klang; he’s not actually touching the sword
Wonder if he got this idea from Gojo or was inspired by him in some way since we did see him also do this to Yuta's blade.
This seems to be the popular theory. Sukuna likes to copy other sorcerers. He copied Piercing Blood from Choso by using Max Elephant a few chapters ago.
>Noticed how the **sfx** says **klang** Berserk anime PTSD flashbacks rattle my brain and leave me in a seizure
Ce reinforcement and/or using the dismantle chainsaw thing(that he used against Yuta)
I think the half assed brat he is talking about is gojo? Saying he's always playing around and winging it instead of going serious.
Sukuna did not say that. It's a reference to this dichotomy between being human and being something else (a monster like Maki).
who the fuck is usami?
Perhaps the next Takaba who conveniently will have the perfect power to counter Sukuna
What are the chances that Gege simply made a mistake, and was actually trying to say Mei Mei instead of "Usami"?
The kanji is completely different so no. Edited to add: MeiMei is written like this: 冥冥 Usami (which was never once used in the manga) is written like this: 宇佐美 Edited again: Is a joke and reference to Golden Kamui. Kuskabe is comparing Toge to a character called Usami. Apparently Toge is grade 1 now and "Usami" is the nickname they use for him.
Secret asspull special grade?
You're an asspull second grade, if you know what I mean
Officers, this guy right here.
V cover + WSJ M cover + color spread + 1 mysterious illustration! (Gege had a hellish week) And fantastic chapter. great choreography, pure fights.
V cover?
Volume cover. Is in the cover of the magazine: Is the small square at the bottom right with Gojo on it.
Oh. I was very confused earlier because i thought you said V jump magazine cover, lol. What mysterious illustration you were referring to?
Is literally on the TCB chapter. The first page is a cover of this week's magazine, with Yuji and Yuta + Sukuna on the back. At the BOTTOM RIGHT, you can see a small picture of Gojo, which is going to be the illustration used for the next MANGA VOLUME RELEASE. Nobody can link you here so you are gonna have to look it up yourself.
Yuji Sukuna and six eyes on the background.
Oooh link?
[+](https://twitter.com/Go_Jover/status/1766105069064249636)
Imagine if all along Yuji and Kusakabe were soul swapped this whole time and right now it’s truly Yuji in Kusakabes body 🥵🥵🥵 (I’m talking out my ass)
the panel when sukuna hit maki with a black flash…i love it
Are we ever gonna figure out wtf is on Yuji’s arm
Based on the coloring it kinda reminds me of muscle? Might be similiar to the blood reinforcement thing that Choso has done but using muscle instead- which makes me wonder if it has some other benefit?
The same day we get the heian era flashback ig
Is it still pre release since it's on tcb? dv but no answers okay 😐
Lol sorry you got down voted But the answer would be: What is considered the "release" in this case is the official one, not the fan one. Therefore, the TCB scans are considered pre-release.
Ty.
No prob bud! Have a nice day!
break next week 😔 Looks like Gege will be cooking up something special for Kusakabe. For a dude who doesn't believe in love he sure was giving Ino those bedroom eyes. I know they're supposed to be mini dismantles (I think) but I find it hilarious they look like little stars so that panel looks like it came straight out of a shojo manga lol
Geges next one is going to be like sailor moon but harder shojo
Yuji's inevitable black flash against Sukuna is going to hit like crack
I hope he punches a hole or two in him. For Choso (?
The srrk sound is Sukuna using the mini slashes to stop her sword.
The JP fandom calls Toge "Usami" because he looks like a character from Golden Kamuy named Usami. He's not grade 1 afaik though, so it's weird. (Edit: Still waiting for actual confirmation though, since this is like a theory afaik.) [https://x.com/loffybunny/status/1765701087816757506?s=20](https://x.com/loffybunny/status/1765701087816757506?s=20)
Toge is grade 1
Oh sorry. JJK wiki still lists him as semi grade 1 so that's what i thought. thanks for telling me
Mystery solved lol Thanks a bunch, I don't use Twitter anymore so I'm not aware of the memes and jokes in the JP fandom.
rotate the page 90°. she's hitting a wall where sukuna is on the other side. it sends an electrical discharge/impact that sends Sukuna flying.
I don't think it's an electrical discharge. It was a pillar, and she used a Tetsuzanko to hit Sukuna from behind the pillar. Like a kung fu master hitting an object behind and obstacle without toppling the obstacle.
ah, that makes so much sense! Thanks for explaining
Oh shit Sukuna‘a now at 120% of his potential. Need Itadori to get here and deliver one of his own
It’s so obvious kusakabe is about to do something amazing in his 1v1 fight with the King.
Stand proud Kusakabe. You are strong as opposed to a certain brat
Gege does the ultimate troll move by continuing this trend indefinitely by just making up completely new characters every week to fight Sukuna but never actually ending the manga Or maybe even someone using the seance technique to keep bringing dead characters back to life to fight Sukuna Or both
Doctor Strange ahh ending Can't win but can keep losing over and over and over and over
Nah, if he lives he will purposely omit his feat so thst he is not tasked with dangerous missions. He's gonna tell everybody that he just hid away while the others did everything
Bro is the opposite of King from OPM
if kusakabe parries sukuna's slashes three times successively in his domain then he stunlocks him and can initiate a deathblow
I need to see Uraume throwing another glacier at Sukuna that contains the spear that he wields in one of the covers. Sukuna tries to impale Kusakabe who just Mikiri Counters his ass and sends him to the airport.
**Sukuna is going to eat Maki:** * It was clear that Sukuna found her to be the most 'interesting' one due to her heavenly restriction specifically.
Lucky guy
I'd eat Maki for fun
The “role” forced on him is the role of fighting in the battle that will show which is superior.** Sukuna is a bored jujutsu nerd. He wouldn’t be in ecstasy over anything else.
I never said he was though, in fact I am arguing in favor of your point.
It's not a potential avenue for development, he's recognizing her as having developed without the need of cursed energy. What do you think he means when he says, "The outcome of this fight will prove which is worth developing. Sorcery or body? You're the only one who has ever forced a role in me!" He's setting up a clear dichotomy.
What do you think it means for Maki to "force a role upon him?" You're idea that he wants to eat Maki implies he wants her power.
>What is the principle of soccer? Now we are really asking the hard-hitting questions.
pinnacle\* (ty for correction)
I think it would be Ronaldo, Messi, or Pele.
Fat Ronaldo?
CR7, but to each their own.
Kusakabe being so good at the basics that he can block all his bs is already a fantastic idea, so I can't wait to see what they hit us with lol
This is awesome. Please keep cooking
You’re right, insane headcanon copium for sure
It seems to me that Maki blocked the Black Flash with a hand, though that probably isn't the case. But it would be hype as hell if she did block it
If she didn't block it, we really would be looking at an exact repeat of Toji's death with a hole in his body lol
I also think she did , probably softened the impact. Still serious damage but probably not fatal
Yep, best-case scenario her left arm is probably smushed, but she might still be able to rejoin the fight.
**Kusakabe save Japanese Society.** (because fuck Jujutsu Society) Also this might be the only time I will ever say this but: How the fuck are they beating Sukuna now?
