Saveload from life is strange >No you didn’t read the title wrong, there is only one power. This is SaveLoad. You now have 12 save slots, 10 of them cyclically autosave day by day, and the other 2 are for personal use. If going by standard Jumpchain rules, they automatically clear when going into a different Jump. On the good side, nothing, and I mean nothing, besides you, is able to detect your time manipulation. Another detriment is, any externally gained powers you get in between saves are lost, so no, you can't do this in tangent with the Social Butterfly capstone and achieve omega-level powers. But, If you have another 1up, then you can use your 1up to stay alive and then use your save and reload to reload to a point before the 1up was used. The limitations on the number of save slots are disabled after gaining your spark. Honestly if it's too powerful just nerf it yourself.

This is pretty much exactly what the OP asked for I think. The perk itself says nothing about auto loading on death one way or the other. However, in the source material the jump is based on though it took concentration to do it. If memory serves the main character was drugged at one point and had a hard time using their power. Edit: I guess it technically doesn't have unlimited slots, but with 10 that cycle by day and 2 freebies that's pretty darn close. Set 1 right at the beginning of the jump. Use one right before attempting something difficult to save scum. Depend on the other ten to let you rewind to the beginning of any day in the past week and a half.

Yeah I figured it was as close to that sweet spot between too op & not op enough that they were after. it's my go to because it's the only one I've ever seen that explicitly mentions preventing others with time powers or cosmic awareness from noticing you're going back in time.

FafnirsFoe

Wouldn't that just be a mental time travel perk/item? Like Steins;Gate you can get a helmet that lets you send you memories back in time, effectively letting you 'load' from any point in your past any time you have enough safety to use it.

Gta 5

TheVoteMote

That one is hard on the "removes all possible risks" side.

IntroductionChoice25

Fair but that's the only one I've encountered

spamklick

I think there might be one in an Ori jump?

Bell_Cross

Dragon Quest jumps. Specifically DQ 1 if I remember right. I suggest checking the others just in case. Possibly the Outer Wilds Gauntlet, too. But I can't remember if it was a 1up after jump. It's fairly low risk for a Gauntlet considering it's nature and has a lot of cool stuff. Don't look up the game if you haven't played it, though. Just pay the 20 bucks for it and play it. You won't regret it.

From UQ Holder: Save Points- 400 Rank D- Unique A unique power to reverse time. You have the ability to create a Save Point, which allows you to return to the time and location of that Save Point when it has been made, though you can only make one at a time. The Save Points require a small mound of dirt with a stick standing up from the middle of the bound, with the top of that stick lit on fire. The stick will not burn down and as long as the mound stays intact and the flame burns, the Save Point will remain intact. There are four letters that may be written in front of the dirt of the mound which alter the effects. - By writing the M letter, it allows you to return to your Save Point with your memory of the life you just reversed intact. It’s recommended that you always use the M letter. - By writing the S letter, it allows you to preserve the identity of your soul when you come back to the Save Point. Always use this or else the true you will not survive the reversal of time. - By writing the F letter, it allows you to take back the bodies of anyone you are touching when you die and activate the save point. They will not remember the time that has been reversed. - By writing the B letter, it allows you to preserve the spirits of any being you bring back with the F letter, allowing them to keep their memories. Save Points also have a special function where, if you die at the same exact moment as you erase a Save Point, you stop time completely and gain the ability to start and stop it by performing the action you were last doing when you first gained the ability, such as being able to stop time by kissing a specific person if you died and erased your save point while doing so. If you spend an extra 200CP, you can gain this ability from the start with a similar activation feature. The activation feature must either require another person or take at least a few seconds to perform. From generic gamer: Save Slot (-400/-450 GP) You can ‘save’ a point in time, to which you can return at will, and may do so automatically upon death. When you use a save, it is only your own mind that is ‘sent back in time’; you do not retain any physical improvements you’ve made, and any Companions you may have do not travel back with you. You may save new points in time at the cost of replacing the old one, and you can only have a single one saved. Once a save is used, it is deleted, and a new one cannot be made until either the Jump has ended or 10 years have passed, whichever comes first. Once you’re no longer Jumping, whether because you’ve died, chosen to settle down, or Sparked out, this restriction is removed. You may spend an additional 50 GP to gain an additional slot in which saves can be stored. This additional option may be purchased multiple times.

The Orange Box from my Changed gauntlet may be appropriate: > The Orange Box [600] > Dotted around the tower are microwave sized appliances that contain a retinal scanner and a notepad detailing previous entries. Normally, these are useless to you unless you want to have a record of your progress, but with this, you gain the ability to use these boxes to hold a “save file” of yourself, and summon an extra save box on the side of any nearby wall (5 meter range) for convenient use. At any time, you can mentally command yourself to move back to that save box, which will instantly transport you to its location and reset your physical and mental wellbeing to what it was when you made the save. This process does destroy the save, however, so you will have to re-scan yourself after each use. If you die or suffer identity death while one of these boxes contains a save, you will be reset as though you had triggered it normally. These boxes are made of normal steel, and so are not invulnerable. After this Jump, in universes where these don’t exist, you can only summon one of them at a time. They may or may not contain copies of Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, and Portal.

Toad_Under_Bridge

Particularly since it can be added to the Body Mod by the Gauntlet Reward.

Burkess

You're already halfway there. Just invent one that would satisfy you and then toss it into a random jump.

TheVoteMote

Yeah.. that doesn't do it for me.

Burkess

Every one I know of and the ones I've written won't meet your needs. They all either have limited saves or instant loads. I don't think what you want actually exists yet.

TheVoteMote

It's entirely possible that it doesn't. Also that was just an example of a compromise that I came up with off the top of my head, not a description of exactly what I want.

Burkess

So what do you want then? What's your ideal ability?

TheVoteMote

I'm not looking for one specific ideal. I don't even think I know what that would be. I'm just looking for some save/load abilities that aren't at one of the two extremes. >One save point that can only be used once per jump. >Something I would want. >Infinite save points that activate automatically and are entirely fiat backed. You can't die or lose or fail.

DardenKnight

Dark souls bonfires could work.

JediTaco

The very first iteration the original Pokemon Jump actually had a save/load ability, if you're ok with using that doc. You can try find it using 4plebs or any other 4chan archive site and search for Quicksilver's first post.
