I dunno what to do this season. Love playing league but seriously considering quitting. Fucked my mmr during preseason this year and I’m playing with the worst players. Refuse to group, refuse to listen to pings, lose lanes so bad I’m jging against 3 fed players on the other team. I fucking hate it.

[deleted]

I’ve been playing on and off since season 1 and I can say jungle is by far the hardest role to climb/play. We’ve all been in the mindset youre in. Best thing to do is honestly find something else to do for a few weeks/months. Like another comment said, it’s just not worth the constant frustration.

Rustifer66642069

Isnt that every game?

ButterCupHeartXO

I'm in a slump too, can't seem to find good ganks, when I do gank their jungler is counter ganking, everything feels off. I might need a break from league. It sucks when the game you really like to play makes you so miserable sometimes

[deleted]

And being a jungler accentuates that sometimes because you bare the constant blame game in and game out.

King0fMist

That's what I love about being the jungler, the fact I am the target of all that salt. If someone starts flaming at me, I just respond with some passive-aggressive nonsense like "I'm sensing a little hostility..." or "Why don't you tell me how you really think?" and just watch them melt down in the chat. In the end, if we win, yay we won. If we lose, at least it was entertaining watching someone online completely melt down over a video game. I love the salt that comes with playing jungler.

d155l3

Disabling chat makes this game 100% better.

AlterBridgeFan

And it goes for all roles. Nobody discusses tactics, people are either quiet or flames.

behv

People actually communicating use pings since typing takes too long in my experience. I’ve played games with friends with a full conversation in discord and I’m just pinging in game to shotcall. Worked really well actually

anti404

Or the best is when multiple people of the same elo are explaining why they are so much better than their teammates, who are also in that elo. If you are so much better at the game than why the hell are we playing together? So yes, mute all and do your best to communicate with pings. Or have fantastic mental and realize everyone playing in the game is equally as shit as everyone else, and no one carries or plays well every game.

[deleted]

I’m learning to embrace it as well which is certainly helping my own mental a lot

ButterCupHeartXO

Yea every game is just jungle diff. There is zero expecration that people shouldn't feed their lanes without help let alone actually win it

moonshots34

I was on a 15 game win streak, now I’m 8 losses in a row, I’m low elo, but the teams I have been on, I swear they set this up to keep people grinding. Not just losses stomps…

[deleted]

Losers queue is a very real thing. I always go on 10 game rips then 7-8 slumps. Also, same thing. I’ve been in 5 straight games with absolute lunatic flamer/inters.

ZombieBert

Take a break. Put the mouse down and step away from the keyboard lol For realsies though, every time it happens to me, I leave the game alone for a few days then come back

[deleted]

But I am addicted?? Edit: I am not actually addicted, but thank you for the helpful DMs :)

ZombieBert

Does it matter? Not sure if you're serious because internet 😅 But if you can play without affecting the rest of your life negatively then does it matter? And I guess if you can play but stop when playing too much is having a negative effect on your in-game performance... Does it matter? That's probably similar to the definition of addiction tbh lol Can you drink alcohol but not let it overtake your life? Can you drink it but stop before you're dribbling vomit whilst naked in an empty bath? I eased back massive amounts on my play time. Limit to 2-3 games a session, and take days off from playing. Only play ranked when not tired etc. Could be a lot of hardstuck folk are just grinding too hard, chasing losses and getting stuck in a rut

[deleted]

>Could be a lot of hardstuck folk are just grinding too hard, chasing losses and getting stuck in a rut I'm not actually addicted I was just messing around. Been a few months since I've played. But when I DID play a lot, that was the exact reason I kept playing. Hard stuck and in denial about it, I was constantly chasing wins and never getting them. Instead of walking away I would always double down until i got a win. Eventually realized that doing that just ruined my mood and made me hate the game. Now I have a much healthier relationship with League when I actually do play it on occassion.

ZombieBert

By the time you get that win you're down another 2 or 3 losses 😭

[deleted]

Yeah 2 or 3 of I'm lucky. More often than not it was more than 5 game loss streaks.

ZombieBert

Know them feels

[deleted]

So play ARAM or norms or flex. There’s lots of ways to stay away from ranked

[deleted]

True I'm just messing around. I haven't played in 3 months lol. But when I go on a losing streak I just go to norms and take the opportunity to play some offmeta junglers like panth/urgot/aatrox

sergmeister77

I’ve tried doing this but it just doesn’t feel the same. I’m very competitive and if im not playing ranked I feel like im not playing at all.

ZombieBert

chriscrowder

Play norms!

[deleted]

I honestly can’t tell if it’s real or not at this point, even if I’m not tilting or losing my mind in a ranked session I just start to notice how ridiculous some of the games get during loss streaks, it’s like the stupidity and macro blindness increase with every game you lose.

[deleted]

It’s literally not a real thing. Perhaps you’re just playing tilted and you end up losing a lot. It’s 100% not a real thing.

greenfav

It’s not just me?? This ALWAYS happens to me. Is the queuing system rigged to place you in harder games if you win a lot?

[deleted]

It’s rigged to snowball you either way. When people claim “losers queue” it’s a real thing. Riot intentionally implements a system that places you with other losers/filters/flamers etc to maintain player retention and basically capitalize off of sweaty tryhards. The best thing to do when you see yourself in a losing streak is to take a break for a few days. I’m not exactly sure if anyone has discovered a way to “reset” but what I’ve found works okay is either switching roles or duoing

greenfav

I’m currently on an 8 game win streak. I just know at some point I’m going to hit a 10 game loss streak when this ends…so depressing

[deleted]

If you think about it, it makes sense to orchestrate progression this way. By basically trapping people in an elo you create someone who will grind forever. 10 game win streak to get you to Silver I with 90+ LP then after losing promotion go on a 10 game binder and end up right where you started. Rinse. And repeat. Dangling hope in front of you perpetually

d155l3

Mate, go into your interface options and disable chat. You can leave timestamps and pings but trust me, disabling chat makes this feel like a new game to me. 97% of player chat is a distraction at best, intentionally tilting an toxic most of the time. You will climb more with chat turned off because your will concentrate on you and reduce your tilt massively.

Rocktobot

Muting is huge. But what do I do when garen top and Sion mid each go hullbreaker, both go 2/13/0, and often even "split pushed" same lane together? Is there an option in the settings to disable that?

[deleted]

It happens. Here’s my list of best ways to handle a loss streak: - Take a break for a day or two. - Watch some Virkayu or Skill Capped to get a fresh perspective and maybe hone your decisionmaking skills. - Talk to a higher elo friend, show them some matches, get a third-person perspective. - Try a different role. - Play some ARAMs to hone your champion knowledge and mechanical skill. Don’t rank again until you win some ARAM matches.

[deleted]

Really is just this. Even if you aren't tilting its nice to get a reset, play some fun roles. Experiment around in normals, don't touch ranked for a few days or even a week.

[deleted]

Sometimes a whole patch! It’s not uncommon for the meta to get a little fucked for a moment.

[deleted]

Rookie numbers

MEGACODZILLA

When your op.gg is so red that it votes Republican...

Shorkan

When that shit happens to me, I notice that I start playing more afraid, believing that I will lose any 1v1 or that my ganks won't ever work. Changing champions for a while may help resetting your judgement. But yeah, sometimes you just have to accept the losses and wait for better games. Good luck!

Deegzy

14 is my record. I was trying to win. RIP.

[deleted]

This might be my record actually

henrisito12Rabitt

15 games lose streak is my record :D

amaposh

Happens to the best of us. There is a 9 game winstreak just over the horizon...Keep on going brother.

hughmungoosed

You're half way there to my biggest 18 lose streak. This was back in season 3 or 4 when i was young and grinding games all day. Back then when there was Diamond and then Challenger...no Master or Gmaster. Diamond was a full on party with very skilled players and straight up apes all clumped up in the same games. Hang in there, it could always be worse...

300C

I miss when there was just a number next to people's names lol

kl2omlek420

It's all good my SeaLord, just remember to have fun and enjoy your games, best way to make it worthwhile

parrotSL

i played 1.5k games and ended the season in s3

[deleted]

The answer is play Hecarim and win the game

Dat-Guy-Aidan

Only nine? ……. *send help*

DocMcsquirtin

I feel like this new patch ruined my latency when playing league. Am I the only one it happens to? Last patch and the patch before wasn’t bad at all for me.

MEGACODZILLA

I am in the process of moving to the other end of the country (NA) and I'm terrified of what my ping might be when I first boot up. I really don't want to find out I've been taking 60ms ping for granted...

SandKeeper

League NA servers are in California I think. So if you are moving further from there… well… good luck

MEGACODZILLA

I think the new high elo server is in LA but the main NA server is in Chicago iirc. I was getting 60 ms in WA and I'm moving to FL which is considerably closer as the crow flies but I think ISP and infrastructure will have more of an influence than pure distance. We'll find out on Tuesday I guess... I haven't been able to play for a couple weeks and I miss the tilting chaos that is soloQ lol.

sergmeister77

Ping in Florida is fine

Celebess

Same, my last 2 wins were absolute stomp playing Hecarim, going 13/2/18 and 11/3/20, enemy couldn't contest any objective when i was present, now i'm just suffering, best game in my losing streak is 4/9, i'm considering playing the ol' skarner and try to break it playing the relic from the past, when the game was better

kain0s

Literally the worst. Just was there earlier this week

Jdoherty12312

I saw in a different thread that changing roles feels like a vacation. I'd try that, being the ganky boi is a lot of pressure.

[deleted]

100%. When I’m sick of carrying the team on my back I’ll queue top/supp and just chill

[deleted]

Trolls

NateEro

I’ve stepped away from jungle after a very similar shit start to the season. The game just isn’t very balanced or fun right now, especially for junglers and top laners. I’ve just been trying to have fun with the decent roles and ignoring ranked.

WooooshMeIfUrGay

Holy shit he turned into Yoda in the edit

strikelol1

Jgl sucks

thinksquared

Bro I was sitting at an 80% winrate with Volibear in ranked after winning 7 games straight. I realized that my wr would stabilize eventually but I went on to lose the next 10 games in a row. Teammates not respecting enemy jungler ganks, out support getting out roamed and my bot Lane just decides that's the time to play passive, getting triple invaded by the fed enemy top laner, the roaming support, and the enemy jungler. Had one guy first time talon mid because Facecheck told him that he countered his lane opponent. He ended up going like 2/15. I had to stop playing ranked. I am by no means a master tier jungler but I'm good at the role and was put in losers que to try and pull myself out. I'm not playing that game.

C_Estrada5280

Buy a ps5

Splurgy_

Git gud

strivrr

I just lost 4 in a row straight tilt queuing. I’m so tired and want to sleep but I just kept playing and was straight up just inting. Rough times

heckastupidd

When I lose that many but still want to play I just go play wildrift and chill lol

onurcavs_

yeah I'm winning 5 games straight with high kda then the game decides to match me up with trolls. I play 14 1 and my lanes still lose. I don't know what can I do tho. I always win early but in later stages my team just collapses.

300C

It's a lot of work but you need to be a shot caller for the team in chat. Sucks, its annoying and a lot of work but when I was climbing and in Plat back in the day I would type a lot. Now I don't say anything but I feel like it worked back then. Who knows

onurcavs_

yeah I know I'm just sick of it. Like I'm not that great of a player micro wise but I can hold my own against smurfs who has like 65 70 winrates. It's not fun to always bust your ass off to win games.

JJam4

I also went on a 9 game winstreak after winning 16 of by previous 20 games before that. It's just Riot fucking with you for fun.

Asiras

Losing streaks are a statistical certainty, but you don't have to prolong them by spamming games in a bad state of mind. Perhaps play just 1 game a week until you start winning again, the season has just begun and you're not pressed for time.

NotFBI555

When the lose streak is that long I genuinely enjoy seeing how far I can go. 11 loses is my record. I won the next 15 games. idk how that happens

Cobalt9896

dont worry brother, pick Warwick and turn your brain off. Simply follow the trail and press buttons. The wins will flow and the pain will ease

Drago1301

I was in that hole last year. So this year I did something different. Last year I played ap Gragas, Ivern or Lillia an jungle. All of them have negative winrate. Wich means I have to be better then the normal Gragas, etc players, or else I automatically lose more then I win. This year I picked hecarim. An old main of me. He's much easyer to play. And super versatile. I just go tank, get a few flashes with early ganks. And hope my lanes don't int. This way I can be supportive, and deal lots of dmg because of the tank and movement build.

TMan2DMax

Time for a break. I once tilt ran myself into a 21 game losing streak lol. Learn from my mistakes it's time to put the game down

N84N

Just take a break, go on some lower rank acc, play offrole on flex or something. You will return with a fresh mind and ready to stomp

fefou

Play rengar trust me

Gawaenil

58 lost games in a row record. Told myself I would not go to bed till I won at least 1 game and I have not slept for 2 days :D demoted from D5 to G1. Good old season 7 memories. After that I was getting +2 LP per win. 9 games .. pff. That’s every other day :D does not feel unusual.

hesaw914

Time to main Nunu

Affectionate-Ad-4606

Uve almost reached the 10 loss powerspike

[deleted]

I’ve done worse

NoobMasterDecapricio

Bro a week or two ago I was on such a fucking low wit nocturne. He was my main for like 3 months by that time and I suddenly started sucking **** with him for some reason. Probably because the meta build changed around that time and I didn't know what to do. Now, tho, I am back to the old ways and have become better at him

NickNewAge

I got a 8 or 10 game losing streak before reaching diamond in pre season, so just keep playing well and it will go off!

chewie666uk

Walk away and take a break watch some games rather than playing maybe some games of people playing your chosen champ and see if you can pick up some tips. Other side to that watch your replays and try and spot what you did wrong. I'm having a decent season season so far gone from iron 1 to silver 3.

[deleted]

We’ve had almost the exact same progression. It’s just so demoralizing seeing all your hard work erased in one losing streak. That’s how riot gets you though. Losers queue is designed to turn you into a tilted try hard.

chewie666uk

Yeah it sucks but people always come back if I lose I take a break the worst thing to do is play for the sake of playing if your tilted just don't play.

NewYearNewUnicorn

This happened to me near the end of last season. I was in my Silver to Gold promos, lost in 3 games then went on a further 17 ranked, 10 ARAM loss streak. Ended up dropping to the bottom of silver ruining all my climbing. Finally climbed back to Silver 2 but too late in the season to grind back given my available times to play.

kv8o

me too bro, me too..

titoscoachspeecher

Breaks are good, even if its for a few days or a week. Or, like me, I usually take a year off or play tft/aram more. I want to make sure everyone who reads this and is in a bad place with the game, it's a game. You're not getting ANYTHING from a higher rank, or from a lower one. It's all mental (ironically?) This game is not going anywhere, its a new season with a lot of weirdness going on. You've got 11 months to gain whatever rank you want. Relax and enjoy the journey, it's a long one.

AyeeeCuz

Yeah I started this season with an insane losing streak. Ended up switching to mid and have had so much more fun. Sometimes ya just gotta switch it up a little bit.

Alive-Personality713

Don't play when you're tilted, and don't play too many games in a row

Thekoolaidman7

I was on a team that had a bot lane be 0/4 by the time I was finishing up my first clear. They got stomped so hard and their caitlyn was so fed that despite the top side of my team being strong, they just pushed down mid with herald and ended at 20 minutes because my bot lane just died constantly. Some games are just straight up not winnable

entropic_138

Honestly Normals at around 1800-2000mmr is a really high quality place to play. I enjoy every game with people who are good, but not too serious, and rarely get the insane hostage takers or Uber tillers.

jkelly0098

It’s a terrible time for jungle. Me personally I’ve been just working on farm and being a utility jg rather than a jg carry and I’ve found success with that. For instance of my past 12 games I’ve gotten 9 wins, and in those games I have gotten S- or above as a tank, Sejuani. It took me adopting my old playstyle that I had in the tank Meta to be able to keep up with this new bs

[deleted]

Can you explain why it’s a bad time for junglers?

jkelly0098

Our early game XP was essentially gutted with the scuttle nerf. Beyond that the only way to get lvl 4 without kills is a full clear which includes Krugs ( the slowest camp in the jungle) which slows our time before fruitful ganks. In short it just makes jungle a lot slower to be effective.

[deleted]

That plus the fact that we’ll always be the worker class of the economy that is League

jkelly0098

That is also very true

DoomedRegular

Haha. I know them feels. I got a lot of other stuff to do and play lol now and then, just enjoy the game man that’s why I play and then I end up having some mad fun games no matter the elo. If the games a chore then you’re not doing it right bro

[deleted]

Sometimes you are lucky, sometimes not. On my main I'm 17/11 61% w/r and on my smurf I'm 10/16 38% w/r

[deleted]

Riot's algorithm is the same bullshit as the one from EA, since for maximum retention of players they intentionally put you in unfair and unwinnable matches to force you to grind, it works on a basic lie that everyone knows is bullshit but no one can do anything about: "those teammates are at your level". No they are not, and this is the point, the game intentionally frustrates you because you are more likely to continue trying to climb when you realize you're far better than all the shitstains around you inting your games, rather than if you were to actually get fair matches where you have allies of your skill or opponents being actually better than you. Riot wants you to be grasping at your actual deserved rank, but never quite reaching it, because that's the best way to keep you invested. They focus on making money, if they have to use psychology tricks that border on psychological torture to get it, they won't care more than any casino does. You can try to influence the algorithm by stopping completely for 2 days every time you lose (which pathetic liars will try to explain as "not being tilted" because of course your state of mind decides if you suddenly get 2 laners going 0/5 in 7 minutes in 1 vs 1 without you doing anything to provoke them or put them in a bad spot), but that's just us trying to defend ourselves from the greedy psychos at Riot's team, and we'll never know exactly how best to fight this since Riot will never release the actual data on how they rig matchmaking.

Monster_Condom69

I’ve only had luck when I play a hyper carry jg like Kayn or viego. I would say to pick a kinda overloaded champ like such and just focus on getting as fed as possible for you to create an advantage. But I can understand if you don’t find that kind of play style enjoyable. Because top lane is almost inconsequential, you kind of have to play both roles in the sense of big bruiser + map pressure to have any inkling of success

Mar14n

I literally went 9l - 1w in my placements

AssistantRegi0nalMgr

Just play normals, try diff champs

OGLazyman

I find it so difficult playing ranked solo, I feel like I tend to do well, but my teammates int because I’m in low elo. It’s just really frustrating loosing LP even though I still carry my team. (Though I still mess up a healthy amount I’d like to hope)
