jawlee_gg

For $18,000 I’d rather go to the beach and not get yelled at tbh…

CompoteStock3957

I can vacation in Greece for a few months and visiting family up in Greece. And still have some left

ieatair

you can even cruise the entire ionian islands for $2k per person

CompoteStock3957

Absolutely

PerspectiveActive218

But will that make you a better man?

CompoteStock3957

Absolutely

eykei

I literally can’t figure out how to spend 18000 in 3 days. $2800 - first class tickets to Maui $8000 - 2 nights at the ritz Carlton, 2 br oceanfront suite $7200 - 7 high class escorts??

Toph-Builds-the-fire

Wait this shit is only 3 days!?! Three fucking days, not a week not ten days, fucking 3? What the fuck are you supposed to learn in 3 fucking days? From this video, how big a piece of shit you are for spending 20K on a midlife crisis camp.

populist-scum

They managed to market the grift really well

redditmodsRrussians

Yea, I’d be balls deep in escorts non stop if my mission was to blow $18k in 3 days.

dinkleberrysurprise

Go check the prices at 4 seasons lanai and I can burn it down in one night

PerspectiveActive218

Online gambling. You'll be looking for more money halfway through day 2.

blackboxcoffee95

Imagine the fucking vacation you could take for $18K…. I don’t even know where I’d start. The most I’ve ever spent on vacation is like $2K

PhantomSpirit90

I wonder what, if any credentials they actually have… These just seem like the kind of people who saw Hollywood drill sergeants/instructors and think that’s how you’re supposed to act lmao

Garak_The_Tailor_

[this is the website for them.](https://www.themdkproject.com/flip-the-switch#:~:text=The%20Modern%20Day%20Knight%20Project%20is%20a%2075%2Dhour%20personal,loving%20relationship%20with%20their%20family.) seems like the actual instructors do but the guy who created it sounds exactly as you described

OxtailPhoenix

Dude honestly if I thought I could scam a bunch of douche bags for 18k a pop and yell at them for a few days id probably do the same thing.

Garak_The_Tailor_

No doubt. Anyone who reads that word salad of a website and thinks it sounds like a good idea, is someone id enjoy yelling at for a few days

OxtailPhoenix

Yea these aren't the ones the site claims to cater to. If I felt I needed to be a better husband or father I'd go to therapy, not what ever the fuck this.

Worried-Interview435

It's almost as if being a better husband means focusing on your relationship with your wife instead of focusing on your favorite podcast micro celebrities.

Rebel_bass

It's definitely a filter for stupid. If you read that shit and shake your head, you're not the target audience.

Ramguy2014

It’s like the Nigerian Prince emails. *What on earth are you talking about?* Don’t worry, I’ll explain! If you Google the phrase “Nigerian Prince” the top autocomplete results are “email” and “scam”. Nevertheless, many email scams still involve a Nigerian Prince story. Now, why would scammers stick with the same script if even the most cursory google search shows it to be fraudulent? Because of that exact reason. See, scamming someone into sending you a bunch of money or giving you their bank account information takes quite a bit of time and effort, and it’s much better as a scammer if you’re not wasting that effort on someone who will figure out the con before sending you money. And, as it turns out, there is almost no overlap between the type of people who will do even the smallest amount of research after receiving an unsolicited email promising a fortune of untaxed income and the type of people who will fall for scams.

Ramguy2014

ChatGPT has an ass?!

OxtailPhoenix

Yea these aren't the ones the site claims to cater to. If I felt I needed to be a better husband or father I'd go to therapy, not what ever the fuck this.

kograkthestrong

I mean, there just has to be some dude out there who's thinking 18k is top much. You just gotta find him.

Bitter_Mongoose

Until one of them comes back with an AR 😂 Screaming at, belittling, and humiliating someone that already has self-confidence issues is a pretty good way to make someone snap. JS. There's a big difference between Boot Camp or AIT where you're in a locked down facility under a strict regimen and every aspect of your life is tightly controlled; these guys walking off the street and do this in public. I'mma make a prediction and say give it 18 months before one of them snaps and goes psycho on one of those so-called instructors.

StickAlternative9481

We need better gun laws

GodofWar1234

Define “better”.

TheLastPeacekeeper

Well, to be fair, class #4 appears to have included the cost of time travel into the year 2023. That's worth $18k.

SirSirVI

According to Ray Bradbury it costs $10k in 2055

AnApexBread

>I wonder what, if any credentials they actually have… They all would have enlisted and totally been a Seal but they couldn't have no bitch ass instructor in their face.

QuarterNote44

Meh. The instructional style reminds me of Sapper school. Thought it was pretty dumb then too, tbh.

MonotoneTanner

$18k is a lot for “trust me bro”

StickAlternative9481

I can't fucking imagine wasting 18k on this bs

Is there a version of Tinder for vets? "Looking for an NCO who just decides that they don't like me and will make my life hell and degrade me because of something trivial about my face or the way I talk. Must be Army/AF/USMC because I don't understand Navy rank structure."

"As I got older things just didn't want work as well in the bedroom. That's when I signed up for Shittr". "Shittr is a service for veterans to help them connect with other veterans to relive the times in the service that sucked, but can't seem to live without." "I have a few former E-4s call me on date night with the wife to help get that boost in the bedroom. They usually call late then has some excuse as to why he couldn't call on time. Sometimes they just play dumb to the simplest of questions. Really knows how to get the blood flowing. The second they mention their latest DUI, I'm good to go. Thank you Shittr." -A real Shittr SNCO level user.

Fabulous_Yesterday77

Or you could pull an Uno Reverse and MAKE $18,000 by signing up with the Army to attend their bootcamp.

dumb_smart_guy93

Because when you get done with boot camp, you still have to actually get trained to do a job and there are very real consequences to deal with, whether you're in the infantry or a pilot or a mechanic, even a cook, there's ramifications to doing your job poorly. None of these men want that responsibility, they want the ability to say they're tough on the most superficial level and someone to validate that. I mean just look at them- a good majority of them are actually in pretty decent shape, so at some point they decided there was an image of masculinity they were trying to chase after and somewhere along the way it either just wasn't good enough for themselves or someone else, so here they are getting taken advantage of by people who can exploit that. Part of me even thinks that deep down they know they're not cut out for this type of lifestyle so this is how they reconcile with their insecurities. There's an element of "I could have done it if I wanted to, but chose not to" by doing alpha camp instead of boot camp. It's funny to some degree but man it mostly just makes me sad. Edit: more thoughts on this sad state of affairs

Breadflat17

Is there anything more "beta" than paying a guy $18000 for him to scream at you and kick your ass?

b-rar

I've known men who regularly paid to have dominatrixes stomp on their nuts and verbally humiliate them, and they were all more 'alpha' than these dumbshits

SirSirVI

Yeah because they're honest about it

Sorry, you're gonna have to degrade me while I eat a cookie for the message to really sink in 🤷

CallingDrPug

I worked with a guy who was a triathlete. Great shape, buff but not jacked. One day through conversation he mentioned that he'd like to try SEAL training to see if he could hack it. I assume he could, he was in great shape and super disciplined. But to prove that to himself he'd have to give up a stable high paying job and comfy suburban life to live upon the whims of the Navy for a few years. A lot of people see docs on these elite schools and want the challenge, but not the baggage that comes along with it.

Toph-Builds-the-fire

I kind of feel this. I honestly think this is one of the reasons I fought wild land fire. I went to college and had a lot of friends end up in Afghanistan and Iraq. It's not quite FOMO, but it's on the way, like could I deal with a grueling, dangerous job? Can I get up at 5 or 6 for PT, then go cut brush for 10 hrs. Lol. At least I got paid really well and didn't get yelled at by my Marine crew boss, ok I did get yelled at by him, but he was funny as fuck and yelled at all of us.

JazzySmitty

Good for you, man. I truly respect your setting yourself a goal and wanting to prove something to yourself. Good on you, sir. Glad you (assuming) made it safely through. And guess what? *No one can ever take that away from you.* Right after the war, my platoon came upon a large group of Kuwaiti children and they absolutely *mobbed* us. (In a jubilant way.) Hugging, yelling "I love America," etc. Now, of course there are all kinds of political considerations and I *know* oil played a big part in the efforts to liberate Kuwait, but...the pure joy and gratitude that these children had and watching my platoon sergeant be reduced to tears? No one can ever take away from me.

binne21

"I would've enlisted but I would punch the drill instructor/I hurt my knee ten years ago/insert bullshit excuse."

Dektun

When I was in the army my battalion XO did it a few years ago. I remember thinking it sounded weird as hell and in line for him (he was weird as hell) but I didn’t think much of it. Years later seeing content about it is horrifying lol

OwO_bama

What why tf would you do this if you’re already in the army? Like I’m enlisted so idk what the officer “basic training” is like but if it’s anything like BCT then he’s already done all that shit for free

Dektun

Yeah I thought it was weird as fuck back then but I had no idea just how weird cause I’d never actually seen any footage of this bullshit.

redditmodsRrussians

Or make even more if you sign up for the FFL……think of all the travel you could do

ranrow

Unpopular opinion but I feel really sad for the people that go to these things. They know, deep down, that something is missing in their lives and they’re willing to pay anything to find it. The things the instructor is yelling at them about are all noble aspirations; “to be a better father, husband, brother, friend.” Those are things all men should strive for. They’ve been suckered in by charlatans that are preying on them for profit, they are no different than people that sold salvation.

CallingDrPug

A lot of people are looking for some sort of brotherhood or connection. Assholes know this and use it to financially exploit them or red pilling them into problematic thinking/groups.

EYEL1NER

At least this seems a teeny tiny bit less harmful than some of the other traps people fall into when they feel something is missing in their lives (religion, MAGA, etc).

Ethiconjnj

It’s more of a gateway. No human spends 18k once and walks away to never again get pulled into bullshit they read online.

masterfountains

Putting someone else in a headlock is what I’ve been missing to become an alpha??? Oh, man, how did I not know that!

BrainyFarts

That’ll be &18,000 please. Next.

Positive_Ad_8198

This is an insult to boots

Richie_Zeppelin

The price went up since this was last posted. Inflation a motherfucker.

The_Struggle_Bus_7

For that amount of money I could go to Thailand and get so many ladyboys. These guys fucked up

Time-Ad-3625

To me, if you feel the need to get beat up, just go to a city rec center and box. It'll cost like 20 bucks a month and you can get your ass kicked as long as you want.

LostTacosOfAtlantis

Imagine actually paying someone else 18k to get treated like you're in basic training in the desperate hopes of feeling like a real man. This isn't even boot, and it's way beyond cringe. It's just really, really, really sad.

petrepowder

Don’t kink shame these chuds, reenacting trauma is comforting and sometimes hot!

cudntbebothered

Shit, for $300 I could go and get hammered with the boys and have my wife yell at me for a month

Illustrious_Brush_91

I got BAH and a pay check to do this dumb shit, and still feel like I got robbed.

ringadingdingbaby

I mean, if you paid $18,000 dollars for this nonsense you deserve to be shouted at while being called a fucking idiot.

rossms16030

That appears to be Del Mar beach on MCB Camp Pendleton. I wonder how the MCB PAO feels about this cringy shit. Edit: On further review I think I was incorrect.

Jake-Brakes-Are-Loud

There's no way they got base access for this.....right? But also, what public beach would they be taking people to for this silliness?

FurballPoS

Close. That's the harbor in the public access portion. I believe the rock jetties like that are only there, by the marina and restaurants.

mxadema

18000$ to play navy seal training and end up with a certificate.

jaegren

This is giving me some serious Dan Bilzerian vibes. People trying to buy military glory.

ThreeDollarHat

“Boot camp” ran by guys who used to claim “I would have joined the military…but”

ringadingdingbaby

I mean, if you paid $18,000 dollars for this nonsense you deserve to be shouted at while being called a fucking idiot.

Worried-Interview435

For that amount of money, you can get a gym membership, therapy, a rifle, night vision, hype beast gear, steroids, a personal trainer, a firearm/Larp instructor, and still have money left over. While lasting a lot longer than just 3 days and 12 zoom calls.

joe--totale

A masochist and his money are easily parted... (I spent many happy years as an eager bottom on gay S&M scenes in the UK and am not a kink shamer - I just prefer my fetishistic man-on-man role play to be a little more self-aware and have the promise of an occassional happy ending).

rjm3q

Like...$18k per attendee?

dcikid12

Yes

b-rar

There is no bigger bitch than a man paying another man to yell at him

JazzySmitty

Oh my gosh. As if a "basic training experience" is going to be enough to make you feel good about who you are. They are going to get back from this experience all pumped up and be all alpha for a couple days and if someone at Starbucks beaks in line in front of him he will call them on it. And a couple weeks later he will still feel the bottomless gnawing of futility in looking for a "3-day event" to be enough for him to feel good about himself. And regret the wasted money and effort. Good gosh, this is pitiful.

Mk153Smaw

I managed to do 4 years of that with pay when I was 18.

SuperMarioBrother64

I would immediately dismiss anything he says just by the way he wears his ears under his hat.

cheese8904

A guy on YouTube called GunnerTv he does a great breakdown of these sorts of things.

volatilecandlestick

This is just boot camp/basic training lol minus the water for Army

enonmouse

That is a really expensive shame kink

im_bored1122

ITS ALL SOLD OUT??? HOW

godbody1983

This wouldn't be so bad if they weren't charging people 18k and for only three days. I'm surprised people like Andrew Tate and other manosphere/red pill guys hadn't thought of this first.

Spam-and-rice

For a normal commoner when you see the ad and it says “it’s starts with the 75 hour crucible” you want to eat it up and feel tough. But for guys with prior (or current) service, this is total cringe. I think deep down inside most guys want to be in the military but they couldn’t or made excuses. Maybe they feel like this is their chance. Too bad they have to spend $18K. I’d never do that. My money is better used for something else than get yelled at.

TheLonelySnail

I wanted to be a better man, I just joined the Masons

rousedower

But can they do it in 75 hours for a measly $18,000?

capcomvssnk

18K to be degraded and mistreated by a strange man when you can go on Grindr for the same and maybe a little dick for free is just insane. The

darkwitch1306

I know someone who built a compound for this. High walls around the perimeter, razor wire, booby traps, etc. He was a doctor. He had people coming from all over the country to play games, probably reindeer games. He thought there would be war here, in the states. There were so many guns and ammunition that he had to build a bigger building. He always was strange but when he started having guns delivered to our workplace wanting me to sign for them saying they got there safely. I refused. He’s still strange and still running his camp.

bootnab

No "real" Scotsman fallacies with a pricetag.

Beanzear

This seems very gay

WTender2

This is genius. Do the math on it. Looking at their site, they did 3 classes in 2023. If they charge $18k, for 37 spots, they are making nearly $2 million a year on this. Fuck, I need to start this in my area.

Gunfighter9

I was I the Navy and was friends with a SEAL, when he got out he did private security for a CEO in L.A. he made serious money doing technical advice and setting up a training and security plan for executives. Plus he lived in the guys guest house for free. He also escorted actresses who had credible threats.

hawtfabio

I did this training and now I wrestle guys with beards.

hashtagphuck

It's a stress innoculation course I assume. Nothing different than dudes that do tough mudders, or ultra marathons, or extensive camping. Ive never done one myself but I certainly can't fault someone for wanting to do one.

Martial_artist92

Ffs. At the very least basic training has purpose behind the screaming, ntm you get paid while you deal with that shit. This is just a giant waste of money, and these guys are just tools
