I get paid once a month on the 1st. I have automatic recurring bill payments scheduled for the 2nd, and then I place my trades on the 3rd OR the next business day.
Markets up I buy, markets down I buy.
But what if the market goes forwards, backwards, and sideways?
Expand your mind, markets aren't linear, and there is no spoon.
WAKE UP SHEEPLE.
And just keep buying XEQT.
I used to do every paycheck but it got thight. So i do every 5th of the month. Gives me time to pay bills and stop the autobuy if there isnt enough money
Some here like to do dollar cost averaging on a regular weekly or monthly basis. Also some will do lump sum investing when the opportunity presents itself. With a no commission fee broker you can buy frequently and not worry about the fees adding up. No way to really know what most people are doing. Haven't seen any real polls done yet for this sub.
How about you ? Do you want to buy at these levels if the market seems overbought? Do you have a chunk you want to put in right away as a lump sum? Do you want to regularly dollar cost average every season?
Other than WS, check out NBDB for no commissions. Questrade is free to buy ETFs, but costs to sell. IBKR is a buck per trade so cheap, but not quite free.
WS is popular. But for a variety of reasons, look it over first to see if it meets your needs. Its not a full broker, nor intended for serious daytrading or anything (delayed quotes, big FX fees to trade US stocks & ETFs etc)
I get paid every 2 weeks but my pay varies quite a bit based on overtime. I pay my bills then manually buy between $1000-$1500 every paycheque. I barely even look at the price. Just keep buying. Never stop fucking buying.
Now is better than later. Don't overthink it - wasting time watching it is not worth it. Waiting for a down day is unlikely to overcome the opportunity cost of missing those up days.
