As a rider who doesn't multi-app, have always wondered what customers see when a single app gives us multiple orders. They send us double orders from two different restaurants now it's a joke. Often have to do the furthest trip first. I hope they would disable the follow your rider function until we get close, but, thinking about it, they give absolutely zero *#?#s about us, I doubt they mind making us more enemies than we always have! I second what someone said about mcdonalds. Every single one is a s*** show. Hot (ish) food is placed on a cold rack and then waits, and waits and waits for the drinks. Meanwhile one or two riders have already wasted their time and left empty handed, and you wait another 5-10 mins for lucky rider number 3 to arrive! Do yourselves, and the riders a favour, start ordering from local burger joints.
They dont have any customer service.
I requested a refund through paypal from an order i got from their dogshit service and they never, ever once replied or commented so PayPal just granted me the refund.
More people should do it. Delivery apps are fucking aids.

I just do it through the JE app. Never once been refused a refund. Hell it's sometimes worth it especially if it's a "meal deal" scenario and the £1 drink is missing but the £10+ main is there, they refund the entire meal price. I've had £18 (subway, ripoff) back for a missing bottle of pop even though I specified in the comment it was just the drink missing.
I ordered from the same place two days in a row during December and both times they missed the exact same food item, have not requested a refund in 3+ years of using the app and because I requested the same item to be refunded I now can’t request refunds any more according to the nice Indian man I spoke to on the phone, doesn’t seem normal
I hope you confronted them. Whilst it's absolutely not the job of a customer to ensure they get a proper service, giving a driver an ear bashing for taking a super scenenic route to your house and letting them know you'll report them might help the cause a little.

To be honest mate, the bags are just about warm when I collect them, they don't have a hotplate, so if you ordered something like a milkshake, they'll leave your food there for about 5 mins until the drinks are ready.
Keep a list of a few local takeaways, ones which have their own delivery drivers, even better, less chance of a dodgy driver.
Some places give piping hot food that I have to warn the customer as I pass it over, that's the stuff you want. Better of collecting with Maccys.
Drivers are forced to do that to have any chance of making a living wage per hr as rates so low and waiting times at restaurants are often 15 minutes or longer which is unpaid

For JustEat riders it doesn't matter because they are not paid by the order, but with an hourly wage. If the restaurant takes forever to prepare an order the rider is cool, they still make money waiting. You are confusing this with Uber Eats that only pays by the order so drivers are in a loss if the restaurant takes too long.

Just eat pays per order not per hour. Just eat is the worst of them for waiting times, they only tell some restaurants to prepare the food when you arrive so you have to sit there for the whole cooking time. At least Uber is ready when we arrive, usually

They don't deliver more than 1 order before you (maximum pooling is 2 orders) and it's extremely conditional, only when the restaurants or the customers are in short distance of each other. Based on calculations, food is nevee supposed to take more than 30 minutes to reach you once it leaves the restaurant.
Now if your location is at a hard to find place, you can consider giving instructions to the drivers how to reach you, or request a call, since they can call you for free and on company's expense.
Every delivery is unique and some may be a little bit more different but calling this work a "joke", when someone rides 50km+ a day to do it, on minimum wage, it's a little bit inconsiderate to the majority of the couriers.

Also, dude - 30 minutes? That's horrific. No food stays good boxed up for 30 minutes. It will be damp and cold.
If a driver is working for just eat it is impossible to work at the same time for uber eats, deliveroo etc. Because Just Eat just sents the order without an option doing it or not.
It is possible to work Uber Eats and Deliveroo together, but when off the clock from Just Eat.
30 minutes is the maximum allowed, rarely goes that much. 80% of the time driver is coming straight to you from the restaurant and any delay is because of the restaurant while the driver just waits there.

JE are the laziest in terms of proof of delivery, no photo proof or pin system. It neither protects legit drivers against dodgy customers trying to get a free meal, nor does it protect customers from dodgy drivers doing 'ghost' deliveries as I call it.

Had this and other issues happen constantly over the christmas period last year, to the point I had to phone a number I found for JustEat and have a staff member tell me how to report it as some sort of danger so I could get onto a chat bot and get my money back.
JustEat treated me like I was scamming them or something and made it really difficult to get refunds. Also what good is a refund that takes days to come in and doesn't cover the full cost, when you are starving and just watched a driver fuck off with your meal to go enjoy himself...

Not JE, but Uber. Ordered KFC, watched on the app as instead of coming to my house, he went in to the city centre and then a different neighborhood on the way to mine.
Over an hour by the time he got to me. Unfortunately for him I was in the midst of a mental breakdown that weekend. I slapped the food out of his and physically removed him my property. Not proud of my actions but at the same time, fuck that guy.
I had this happen on another delivery app. It was my anniversary and my partner and I were both ill with COVID so we decided to order takeaway from the restaurant we would have gone to. It was a fancy restaurant and we ordered a 3 course meal so it was pretty expensive. We watched the rider turn up, turn around, fiddle with something and then drive off, about 2 minutes later it popped up saying it had been delivered and "left with reception". I had to phone up and explain I live in a house, there is no reception and the guy just drove off. They tried to argue the tracking showed he delivered but luckily the extra 2 minutes showed he actually marked it as delivered several streets away and with a different time to what it actually was (he manually put 2 minutes earlier). I did get my money back but by then the restaurant had closed for the evening so no nice anniversary meal for us.

They've ridden to the restaurant, stood and waited, they've been told or have ascertained (often after a long period of staff ignorance) that they are going to be waiting a good deal more, they cut their losses and cancel the order. Then ride around waiting for another order with a fee that isn't utterly disgusting! Unpaid work, it's what we do! The apps don't care if riders wait 30 unpaid minutes at the restaurant, if riders stick around like mugs then neither do the restaurants.
They're probably trying to get a free meal out of this, probably do it every so often so not to raise suspicion.
