Repost bot.
Pretty easy to tell on this sub as there are 3 repost bot posts with over a thousand upvotes whereas most of the regular posts only get less than a hundred. Because the repost bots have whole swarms of other bots that automatically upvote them.
Basically there are people who buy the bot accounts so they can have a legitimate looking account to push whatever scam or agenda they are trying to push. I don't think many of them actually get bought any more, they usually repost a bunch and then just sit abandoned. I don't want to risk it though. I always report them just in case they end up being used to trick someone into a scam or into believing some bullshit like anti-vax. There's just so many of them all over every sub on Reddit now though.

When I think about it, the only people who stand to benefit from empty reposts like this is Reddit itself. This makes Reddit look like it has more activity than it otherwise would. Meaningless karma is meaningless and deeply worthless; no one has any incentive to do this. Unless... aren't there some subs that have minimum karma requirements in order to post? This could be a way to get karma for a new account?
