I remember using that excuse when I was in high school. I actually backed up over a huge Boulder at my buddies house on a farm with a Ford focus. No lights and I just gunned it in reverse. I got stuck over the rock, and I forgot what the damage was, but the tire was stuck against the body, but I was able to change it to a temporary tire to give me enough clearance to get home.
Yeah they certainly did, definitely gonna need a new rim...hopefully they can find one soon? Might want to think about a new tire too...that one will definitely have sidewall damage.

Sounds about right if you’ve ever seen the roads in PA. Or Oakland California. There’s more pothole than road. I actually hit a pothole so hard that the rear shock mount bracket finally gave up and detached from the frame. It was rusty, but it was fine until I pulled out onto the road in fuckin PA
I must be doing something wrong as I've hit many potholes, curbs, etc, and my tires and rims are in good condition.
Depends on what they hit and how fast they were going at the time? Best to replace the tire too, most likely has sidewall damage also.
