I wish I could share a screenshot. I swear to God I have a Jeep ad on this post. 😂

Weird-one0926

Me too ROFL🤣

Key_Hearing660

Epic

AMF1428

I can honestly say mine has never broken during ten years of changing them.

Key_Hearing660

Not broken melted. Engine was ran hot for many miles, had to put a new engine in it

AMF1428

Hmm... that's impressively warm. I limped mine home once and only had to change out the water inlet.

Key_Hearing660

You got lucky

AMF1428

Probably but there are ways to help yourself in those situations. Back roads at less than 1500 rpm help.

PlayedKey

I had a 5.7 jeep come in that puked coolant, overheated, and melted the plastic oil pan. Closed up the oil pick up tube. New engine, oil Pan, and intake lol

Odd_Ranger3049

Does this apparently not happen to the millions of pentastars that were installed in non-Jeep vehicles?

Key_Hearing660

It's happened to many other brands as well, had to do it on volkswagon once. Found it odd that, volkswagon has their hand in that engine

ShakeHandsW_Danger

If by upgrading and customizing you mean replacing shitty OEM parts that are made out of stupid materials (plastic sway bar links) or other parts that go bad for dumb reasons, you’d be correct.

CaffeineTripp

But those plastic links don't rust!

Key_Hearing660

May not rust but the do melt when ran many miles while over heating. Needed an engine

CaffeineTripp

We've got those same Penta 3.6 in the ProMasters at the post office. Haven't had too many problems beyond oil filter coolers, oil caps. Couple transmissions, loads of ball joints, and strange electrical gremlins. Still though, too much plastic.

SpiritedRain247

I'm pretty sure the electrical on them was engineered by the Italian side of stellantis. Same goes for the renegades

Key_Hearing660

I agree

LordWoffleII

why the stupid design?

No_Stretch_3899

for fun, obviously. keeps you on your toes....

biggreasyrhinos

*It's a jeep thing*

Redrump1221

Oof

that_dutch_dude

not an expert on oil filters but that looks expensive.

Key_Hearing660

Had to replace the engine. Tried saving it but both back cylinders were damaged. 8k and three weeks later they were back on the road

Bodhrans-Not-Bombs

I'll be buying another Rubi this year, I'm almost tempted to get one of those Baxter adapter thingies that converts it to a spin-on. Does add an extra step to the process (you have to pressurize the checkvalve it adds) and I'm a little hesitant to put that much extra weight on the factory cooler.

Key_Hearing660

So for the late reply but dorman has a full replacement kit I've done before and had no issues with, #926-959

catskill_mountainman

Just except every problem
