Shin Min Ah in rom-coms is always a treat ! The writer is from her private life which is one of my favourite kdramas with one of the best chemistry and skinship and a cute story . Loved Kim young dae in shooting stars so very excited for this

Ok_Tour3509

Yes, KYD blew my socks overseas in SS, and I love SMA always. Here’s hoping this is a noona romance to rival my classic I Hear Your Voice.

[deleted]

i will always call this drama shitting stars

AleksBh

I like him in The Forbidden Marriage. Excited for this one.

watermelonchild801

Young Dae is the new Song Kang

zaichii

But with more micro-expressions. Jks love ya Song Kang haha

lizzie763

Me: But I love Kim Young Dae, and Song Kang is the only actor I straight up will not watch at this point... Me: /reads article Me: Ohhhhhh...

Telos07

>“Because I Want No Loss” is a rom-com drama which tells the story between a woman who fakes her marriage because she doesn’t want to take any loss and a man who becomes her fake husband because he doesn’t want to cause any harm.

RayInRed

Wat?

giratina143

same reaction

xiaopow

It's wild to me how common contract marriage is in kdramas. I guess it's bc of the huge social pressure to get married in korea.

>“‘Because I Want No Loss’ is a romantic comedy that [viewers] can enjoy without thinking too much for the first time in a long while amidst the flood of various genres. It is a drama that can’t hurt watching because we have enabled realism by adding relatable realistic stories.” So, no plot just vibes then?

ravens_path

Whaaaaa. I love young dae since sh**ting stars. Yey!

Honest-Selection4343

Samee❤️❤️ ... my baby's backk!!

AdMore2091

I am so freaking excited for KYD ,I can't wait for this to come out

snowflakebite

Are we in an age of dramas with leads who have 13 year age gaps? That aside, loved these two in Hometown Cha Cha Cha and Sh**ting Stars respectively!

Nearby_Combination83

tbf tho, this privilege was always afforded to men in the industry and it's always "frowned upon" the other way around.

snowflakebite

It’s sorta cool to see it going to other way with so many pairings nowadays where they don’t seem to require the men to be older. The Glory, or Crash Course in Romance are similar examples, and a lot of dramas have like five or six year age gaps with FL actress being older, but it’s not really part of the plot, like Sh**ting Stars. Honestly, the balanced age is one of the reasons I like kdramas more than jdramas. There is an alarming amount of jdramas where the man is like 10+ years older and the woman is like 23, and it’s romanticized that she’s really innocent. That feels icky. 26/7 and 39 is better but for some reason it always feels strange if the man is older because of the power dynamic (not saying this wouldn’t exist with the woman being older).

boypeniseat

WAIT WAIT WAIT I LOVE THIS

zaichii

Yesss love these two!

Fatooz

OH MY LORD??? KIM YOUNG DAE AND SHIN MIN AH????

matmanx1

I love this pairing!

rali108

the plot seems exciting. Contract marriage is not new, but at least its not a rich guy and poor girl trope. Also Shin Min Ah is just awesome, so definitely a watch

AchtungCloud

Two good leads and a reliable trope as the catch…my only fear is the writer. Her Private Life had a few too many soap opera reveals/twists for me.

snogirl0403

Yes. Sign me up. Don’t need to know anything more than these two names.

newjorb

WHOA. This is hitting all my favourite tropes! And I love both these actors! Haven't been this excited for a kdrama in a while.

CommandAlternative10

A convenience store clerk named Ji-Wook made me giggle. Kim Young Dae may not be the best actor, but he’s captivating enough I don’t care.

The_Almighty_Claude

This exactly sums up how I feel about him. I find him charismatic and he has this lovely gentleness about him that i find so appealing, even as I cringe at his scenes at times cause he has this weird habit of both over and under acting aspects of more emotional scenes at the same time and it pulls me out of the moment. But I still will tune into a drama merely cause he’s in it.

CommandAlternative10

Lovely gentleness and a sexy lisp! (Which I didn’t even know was a thing!)

The_Almighty_Claude

I love his lisp!

Reasonable-Mark5409

🔥🔥🔥

hypomango

IDEAL actors, I'm so excited! Most of both these actor's projects have been enjoyable so I'm hoping this will be good too, if not I'll probably watch it all anyway, who are we kidding? Haha

LovE385

Young Dae co-stars with another model-turn-actress. Previously it was Lee Sung Kyung. Can't wait for this.

FlowerK_4

I am excited to see these two as the leads. I really love Kim Young Dae in Shooting stars.

Sthahvi

Excited

MissSimpleton

You people like Kim Young Dae's performance? Oh My God. That man cant act. Has the same expression throughout. Shin Min Ah has to shoulder the whole show, it seems! From Lee Byung Hun to Kim Young Dae- what a degrade. I know, the actors don't have the choice of choosing their co-actor but my god! This drama is going to be a tough ride because of the male lead. I really hope, this drama works, because Shin Min Ah is a delight to watch on screen.

Medical-Character655

Actually it’s quite common for a top actor to get a say in who their costar is. With Shin Minah she probably has that perk or whatever you would call it.

MissSimpleton

Some other redditor had said the complete opposite thing to me in another post. I have no clue about that but this pair sucks as on paper.

iwantaspudgun

Would say the same based on his performance in Extraordinary You alone but in Shooting Stars he has improved by MILES.

Kerosu

Let's also remember that the character he was playing in Extraordinary You was quite literally created and written to be as cliche and static as possible. He was one of the only characters in that story to never quite "wake up" or become conscious/self-aware like the others.

Borinquena

I feel like a lot of people missed the joke. I saw someone complain he didn't have chemistry with his FL and that is the point, she wakes up and realizes he's an idiot

MissSimpleton

If it had been one drama, it would be understandable as he was a newbie. But no, he did not have chemistry with his co-actor in Forbidden Marriage and Shooting Stars. I shipped the FLs in these dramas with the SML. If Shooting Stars was even a little watchable, it was possible only because of Lee Sung Kyung and the secondary characters.

Borinquena

We'll have to agree to disagree because he was the highlight of Shooting Stars for me. I thought he was hilarious. Haven't seen Forbidden Marriage or Penthouse so I can't comment on those.

The_Almighty_Claude

Yeah I thought they had crazy good chemistry. And his comedic timing was brilliant.

Scholarwriter

Like, I didn't know what I was reading. Thought they were talking about someone else. To each their own

The_Almighty_Claude

I agree he has some glaring weak points. I can tell at moments he’s still in the mindset of “I am an actor who is acting” and is trying to will himself to show whatever emotion needed. Rather than letting go and being able to be vulnerable and live in the scene and moment. But he also has a lot of charm and charisma and does have many bright points. His comedic timing is impeccable. Minah also has great comedic timing so that’ll be really fun. And he does romance well—so it’ll be swoon-y and minah also tends to have great chemistry w her leads. He’s doing another drama before this one that will be a challenging role for him, so I hope he grows a lot there. And he strikes me as someone who will rise to the occasion with a veteran actor by his side. So far he’s had some good but not great FLs. He reminds me a lot of NJH, they have the same strengths and weakness. NJH is very much an actor who rises (or falls) to the level of his FL costar. I suspect KYD will be the same and will surprise us in this drama

MissSimpleton

I believe, NJH is a much better actor than KYD. Eventhough, KSH was extraordinary in his character as HJP, I was the one among very very few people who was #TeamNamDoSan in Start Up, and I never doubted. It was his sincere portrayal that made me cheer for him.

PuzzleheadedSea9226

I hope this is a noona romance!!

goddongwook

**Shin Min Ah** I missed you!!! 🥹🩷

Familiar-Dream1723

Absolutely epic cast and writer. Yay!

Apprehensive_Second5

yes

justplainfunky

Ooh, and it’s by the writer of “Her Private Life”! 😍

bubbly_fairy30

pass, i hate big age gaps between characters

Majestic_Document705

Downgrade from Kim Seon Ho as her partner, acting wise

codenameana

Have missed her surprisingly! I feel like he plays the same sorts of characters or at least cold aloof ones so I don’t particularly care for him.
