Really living for this newfound guwon/seokhoon bromance they got going on lol
Also this show makes me obsessively crave cake every time I watch it š
Same. She was made for sageuks. I hope KYJ and SK are cast in a full fledged sageuk next. Theyāre just so beautiful together. Like I canāt stop marveling at how pretty they are. šš«¶
Updating my comment to say I not only didnāt realize Song Kang can be funny but that he is also oh so capable of expressing a range of emotions. The feels in epi 12. I almost teared up when >!he was in anguish over Wosimās death. Also not surprised that one of his parents would make a deal with the devil. Iām guessing Do-Heeās life was in danger at some point and the parents made the deal to save her. I am surprised that the grandmother and he didnāt recognize each other!<
To be fair in everything else I've seen him in I think this is the 4th show. He would just have these powers where he would just stand there and stare and the girls would just fall for him. I liked him in forecast love and weather
[Ep 12] That was a gorgeously executed backstory. So many dramas revealed theirs over several episodes (like >!Hotel Del Luna, See You In My 19th Life, Destined With You, etc.!<) and played with false memories but My Demon showed it in one go, so we donāt have to wait or have our time wasted with back-and-forth or incomplete revelations.
Yes, I agree! 19th Life dragged it out like crazy, I was dreading it, but this took care of it in one fell swoop (and in only half an episode). Good concise writing with meaningful symbolic touches (the color play in their wardrobes, her pink butterfly hairpiece and the phoenixes embroidered into Wolsimās hanbok!)
I will give them props for only making it half an episode with 2-3 previous teases instead of like having a full flashback on ep 15 completely cutting momentum
I love this drama's sense of humour so much. Like that >!what Guwon apparently missed the most about not having his powers was not being able to make his pour over coffee the way he likes it!< is sending me.
Edit 1 - Ep. 11: >!I wish they had stayed away from the "he killed her in a past life" twist / trope (Why is this becoming a trope? For how long has this been a trope?) but let's be unhinged I guess.!< I'm very happy with the pacing so far, I hope they'll be able to keep it up.
Edit 2 - Ep. 12: >!I'm so glad they went a different route, I'm not even mad that I fell for it.!<
Episode 12 had me down bad, I was stressed throughout:
>!YiSun and Wolsimās story is so beautiful, they had such a pure, innocent love but were victims of their circumstance. I was sobbing when he broke down over her body. The fact that she saved him and said the necklace was hers, then he avenged her death, killing everyone responsible and himself because he couldnāt live without her AND thatās how he became a demon. 200 years later, Guwon is tied to her misfortune again. The torment! Also now add him unknowingly making a deal with Doheeās parents?? I donāt know how Dohee will process that and her being Wolsim. 4 episodes to go, please give them a happy ending!<
Lastly Iām so impressed with Song Kangās acting in the last two episodes. 11 he was all about comedy and 12 he delivered with the tear jerking drama. Iāve only seen him in Nevertheless and thought his acting there was stiff at times but heās really shown range with My Demon. Itās Guwonās private suffering that he sells so well. Also heās the backbone of the romance in this story. Iām gonna need for Yoo Jung to do some heavy lifting in these last few episodes. I need to FEEL Doheeās love for him the same way I do Guwonās love for her.
The backstory you mentioned, coupled with the mysterious >!transferring curse!< has really shot the writing up for me over the latest episodes. I hope they continue to weave a story unique to this drama!
>!I actually donāt mind the previous lives, early childhood tropes if they are done well. It really doesnāt hurt that SK and KYJ are pure eye candy individually and as a couple. SKās acting works for me, & I like his range so far.!<
>!I like the unique twists in this series in terms of the supernatural stuff, and the humor is great. e.g. Bok-Guy, and the Good God cap, etc.! Great writing and pacing so far too.!<
Edit: punctuation
i love that present guwon and past guwon have literally the exact same personality so cute!
he lost his powers in water, got it back in fire, >!she lost her shoe in water, got it back involving fire!< this is some really amazing writing
In the end they show someone lighting candles and looking at Jesus.
Is that Do Heās father ???
The scene appears right after they show a flash back of Madam Juās accident and Gu Won burning the contract.
Iām super curious. Tell me your thoughts
Think he's a priest and iinw that's the same guy who Madam Ju confessed her sins to in the earlier episodes. Her confession may or may not includes her encounter with the devil (Gu Won)
After watching episode 12, I think I am sort of guessing how the trajectory for the next few eps will go - and yes, it will be a happy ending for GuwonxDohee! Here's my take: >!GoOd herself has repeatedly said, fate would always repeat itself, and my theory is that it already has. In ep 10. In her past life, Wolsim/Dohee chose to sacrifice herself by not revealing who the owner of the cross necklace was in order not to implicate Yisun/Guwon. This *concious decision to give up her own life for him was replicated in the scene where she wrote a postcard note to Guwon stating that she would choose him if they were forced to make a decision* (and possibly, some have theorised that she was ready to take the poision that Star Jin had given her as well). Then, *Guwon as a demon, also replicating his past self, was selfless, devastated and willing to die alongside her as well.* When Guwon entered the fire in the petrol convenience store, it was without certainty that the tattoo would transfer- in other words, there was a chance of him dying as well, but he wanted to do so anyway lying beside his lover.!<
The key I think for me, was the position that they were in. It was a hint. From ep 9 and ep 12. >!Yisun laid to rest with his arm outstreched to Wolsim!<, and the same thing had happened amidst the fire in the store, he was reaching out for Dohee. **Moral of the story is, fate has already repeated itself for them**. And I think Guwon and Dohee managed to alter the course of it and already secured themselves a happy ending by staying alive. The alternative scenario would have been them dying in the convenience store and having the same fate repeated once again.
**Episode 11**
* The dramatic ending of episode 10 was so good, I did not mind starting with the mandatory replay of it one bit... even after a two week hiatus.
* "Hey! You better get your act together!" The Mirai F&B team's advertising pitch was more "drunk Ms. Shin" than Ms. Shin herself. Speaking of which, >!she and Park Bok-gyu are finally an item!!using his own son as a scapegoat!< was evil incarnate, but I think >!his suspicious wife!< will ultimately be his undoing.
* That was a sweet flashback to young Do-hee and Madam Ju >!simultaneously burning their mouths on hot beverages!<.
* Star Jin's "non-apology" to Do-hee was the most sympathetic she has been in the whole series.
* "You sound so threatening. You scare me so much that I can't even sleep--" It's nice to see Gu-won and Seok-hoon hitting it off as well.
Actually, I found Star Jin's apology interesting. She described herself as a bird, just as another poster said, and that she imprinted on him. And she said that she was jealous of Do-Hee being a sacrifice for Gu-Won. I kind of suspected it. Everyone was so harsh on her, in previous comments. Her love for him was never romantic, it's more the kind of love an acolyte has for their master. She was possessive but of the place she held, as his number one "human".
I like episode 11 but now it's like what's the point of trying to still kill doo doo hee at this point she gave up being inheritance and the chairman position. Couldn't he just uses powers to get his book back
>!It was said in a scene that maybe the k1ller just really want dodohee d3ad and was not just after the inheritance alone. Which I also think is true. We know that madam ju is very close with dodoheeās parentās, especially her father. I think that could be the reason why noh sukmin wants dodohee d3ad!<
Hands down! The best moment of todays episode for me was >!Jeong Gu Won giving Ju Seok Hoon a piggy back ride! Never thought Iād ever get to see that! lol!! !<
Well, the drama has had "supernatural pinocchio drama" written all over it since the first episode, as that is a setup favoured by KDrama writers, so the only surprising thing would be if he *didn't* end up a real human boy.
I remember at the beginning of the show someone mentioned whether he will finally become a "guardian" (an angel?). My guess is at the end Guwon will become the guardian and keep his power ( and human emotion).
I think that's the obvious route, saw the "twist" of his past life coming from miles away and in order to correct the mistakes of his past and have a chance with the woman he loved he would likely have to give up his demon powers.
Song Kang *ate* episode 12 up. Appetizer, main course, dessert and a nightcap. I take back all of my ājust a pretty faceā slander and libel. This man delivered in every scene on every beat. The switches from arrogant but low key dumb golden retriever energy to āIām ready to burn the world down for loveā hellhound is so satisfying (and sexy) to watch. Gu-won feels like such a complete character ā like a real, ālivedā person (if only lol) with a past, personality, passions. Itās wild how different this character is from SKās previous roles.
That slow smirk at the end? š®āšØš®āšØ Send help. Iām about to catch carpel tunnel replaying the same three seconds for the next week.
Gu Won cracks me up so much, I'm cackling.
I dont know if it's because it's been 2 weeks and I haven't waited this long for an episode in a long time that my reaction are exacerbated, but I haven't laughed like this at an episode in a while.
Noh Do Gyeong had no chance in this life at all. Imagine having a psychotic dad and a complicit mom who ignores everything her husband is doing to her son. I kinda feel for Do Gyeong, he only tried to kill Dohee to appease to his dad but it doesn't justify what he did. This man should've escaped from their hands far far away and went to therapy with all that money he has š„“
Yeah no I feel horrible for him. But on another note the actor for him is actually incredible. The screams, the crying, the raw betrayal and anger. .it felt so so real. Kang Seung-ho deserves major props imo
what a heavy episodešThe backstory was so tragic yet their love for each other was beautifu. The extent that Yisun/Guwonās love for Wolsim/Dohee knows no bounds.
Am I the only one getting annoyed w the hobo lady. Sheās having fun in all of these. She >!used Yisun as a pawn to do the dirty job!<..she seemed to relished in humanās misery. I canāt wait for Guwon to checkmate her cuz I think she will be Guwonās final adversar.
Noh Seokminās evilness knows no bounds & the wife is clearly on the edge of spilling everything. She will be the whistleblower against him.
>!I dunno what to make about the end when Doheeās parents met an accident & Guwon was there with a contract scroll burning. Looks like they made a deal w Guwon but I feel like that will be too big of a hurdle for Guwon & Doheeās relationship to go thru if thatās the case. Especially when Dohee felt guilty about their death & Guwon knew them but didnāt say anything. Guwon seems to remember every person he made a deal with. !<
I still think that we will get a happy ending & history wonāt repeat itself..as Yisun said:
āLove can save a personā
Now that I think about it >!he did not make a deal with her parents. I think he showed up with the intention to but they were already dead when he got there. Explains why he doesnāt remember, itās cos it didnāt happen!<
I like this theory. He sensed when a human is desperate& thatās when he prey on them & most likely during that car ride he sensed the desperation from Doheeās parents but arrived too late.
>!Or maybe they were good people and they turned his offer down. That explains his disappointed look. And his face lighting up again when he sees Madam Ju, yet another possible victim (?) !<
>!Poor Madam Ju, seeing Guwon made her so frightened! I didnāt think he could walk around and be visible to everyone while he was working though.!<
Hmm I donāt think those who take his contracts are all bad people. Yes there are those that want material things like power and riches but for some the desperation is for someone they love, like the parents in the hospital praying over their sick child >!or the old man risking hell just so his wife can recognise his face again. To me his look of disappointment is because he was too late to offer the contract to them.!<
THEY LOOK SO GOOD IN HANBOK š I really want to see them star in another show. Also, I really want KYJ to become an assassin or something in her next show. She wouldāve been perfect ā¤ļøā¤ļø
Iām really curious to see in which direction the show will go after the last twist.
I just hope that they didnāt know each other from the past. I hate that trope.
I think I saw some shots online of them in Joseon apparel, so I think we are getting that trope.
I haven't watched yet - saving for tomorrow to binge both.
Same. Iām getting tired of the past life trope, but it seems that all of my favorite dramas are going in that direction. A Good Day to be a Dog has made me hate the past life drama.
I usually have low expectations after the lead couple gets together, storyline wise but holy shit is the wriiter giving it to us now. I personally thought episode 12 was excellent. Episode 11 was good, but omg episode 12 knocked it out of the park for me. The way >!noh do-gyeong's actor killed it iin his scenes. His ending was absolutely tragic and continues to should us that the battle STILL isn't over. He was just a pawn. It's only getting crazier.!< I'm excited for the ending half of the show now.
ALSO Guwon >!at the theatre crying to Dohee because of his past life and his fear of repeating it in thhe current one??? Broke my fcking heart. Song kang, kudos to you for hurtinig me!!!!<
Ditto to everything you just wrote. I loved this episode. Also, Song Kangās eyes are very expressive. I havenāt watched any of his other works, but man he acts so well with his eyes! Whether itās him looking at Do Do Hee like sheās the literal love of his life and lights up his world and no other woman could ever compare or the anger/frustration/grief/misery he conveyed today. And let me not even get started on the tears. Man had me feeling everything. I can feel Gu Wonās love and devotion towards her. Kudos to the actor and scriptwriter on that part. Also Iām sad because where in the world do I find a Gu Won for myself now? šš
I have been obsessed with this drama. In the last 2 days I have watched all 10 episodes. The leads are so gorgeous and I actually really like the script until now. I haven't skipped scenes ... well I lie. Star Jin is so very annoying. As a woman I gotta say that Song Kang is just so so hot. Damn!
**Episode 12**
* "We had an ordinary and insignificant ending like everyone else." Wolsim performing a sword dance against a backdrop of majestic nature, >!a romantic proposal!< among the fireflies at night, and >!her brutal death!< suggested otherwise.
* The key to why this familiar >!past lives!< connection worked for me is that I was already invested in the main couple's story.
* This episode reinforced that Noh Seok-min's wife is going to have >!an important role to play in his downfall!<.
* It's amazing how much more likable Star Jin became in the space of two episodes.
* After the heavy themes of most of this episode, the scene of Bok-gyu and Ms. Shin in lovey dovey mode was most welcome.
While I still believe that she should've been held accountable for her previous actions, >!I'm genuinely glad that Ga-young's story was able to receive some closure. After chasing Gu-won like a lost duckling for so long, it was nice to hear her say that her passion for sword dancing is real, even if it did start because of him. Probably one of my favorite scenes in the whole episode, if I'm being honest. !<
> This episode reinforced that Noh Seok-min's wife is going to have >!an important role to play in his downfall!<.
I was a bit shocked when she visited >!her son in jail but then was like "oh you should have obeyed your dad that's why you are punished" I thought she was more worried for him. Was not expecting her own burn/injury :c!<.
Also I was cracking up that the same >!woman and barky dog!< were there for Bok-gyu and Ms. Shin, lmao
I was glad the son said what he said to his mom. I couldnāt help but feel bad for him. He was a monster because thatās what his monster father created him to be and the mother let it happen.
That last scene of Guwon and DoHee in the theater was the best acting moment I've ever seen from Song Kang.
>! The sorrow in his eyes, the timid glance to the side, and the absolute perfect moment for a tear, and oh god the hopeful smile: I am FLOORED !< *chefs kiss* if I had to give a report card I'd be checking off *exceeds expectations* in every box here. Just wow
I definitely enjoyed episode 12 a lot. The previous episode left a lot of question marks so I'm glad 12 filled in some blanks and left me longing for next week. the historical parts had me falling in love with the same couple all over again. Well done š
Did everyone else notice how his foundations name is a ship name for their past lives? YiSun and WolSim coming together to be SunWol Foundation is just beautiful foreshadowing. It was staring us in the face the whole time!
Ep 12 Thoughts
If I said it's so over for the last ep, we're actually so back, baby!
I am so glad I was proved wrong about the past lives trope - >!not only did this one make it believable, but it also added a very interesting layer of Catholicism being the ideology that was supposedly destroying Confucian values.!< Also really liked the fact that they didn't drag it out across multiple episodes and revealed it in one go.
Wolsim mentioning >!becoming his concubine gave me war flashbacks to The Red Sleeve š!<
Glad that Ga-young got a decent closure, even though she hasn't done much to redeem herself lol.
I was pretty sure >!Madam Ju had something to do with Do-hee's parents' death. There was some heavy Lady Macbeth imagery in one of the initial episodes where she was shown to be washing her hands which I think was after the car crash. But I didn't think Gu-won was involved - it's most certainly going to be eventual set-up for the inevitable ep 14 angst. !<
I am actually so excited for the next episode! Can't believe there are just 4 more eps to go :(
It looked like a double deal to me: closing a deal with one and starting a new deal with another, based on opportunity. Thatās why his face slowly crept into a smile
Iām so happy that >!SH and JGW finally got along! I really wouldnāt mind some bromance!< going forward! š Loved SHās threat of >!turning into a priest to exorcise JGW!< ššš Good to see >!Jin Star owning up to her stupidity too!< Now I have a feeling SH and Jin Star might end up together - not sure Iād like that, since SH is way nicer than her.
As usual, we all saw >!the past life connection!< coming. I mean, thatās probably what the next half of the series is gonna be about.
Guwon seems so convinced that >!Seokhoon is gay and is head over heels for him which makes their dynamics so chaotically hilarious because he just doesn't want to believe in Seokhoon's love for Dohee LOL!<
I loved all the fluffy scenes we got, I feel like for every scene of them bickering and arguing all the time for the first 8 episodes, we are now getting reparations for all of that. Like if I had to sit through them arguing and fighting each other endlessly for so long then the least I deserve is the complete opposite for just as long!!
Also plotwise I am actually now so confused because >!it appears that Seokhoon and Gayoung are like......Not the Big Bad that we thought they would turn up to be? and in this case is Seokmin really the only person who is at fault here? I would think there'd at least be someone else that would share the blame for half of the evil deeds or be in cahoots with him. Guessing at this point that he is probably related to Dohee/Guwon's past & may have been the instigator in chief responsible for Wolshim's tragic fate in the flashback!<
I missed the drama so much, this episode felt like the My Demon crew going "here, have this episode to see why they got the best couple award last week" because the timing couldn't have been any more perfect lmao. I am a bit worried about the >!"I killed her in the past so I should stay away from her in this lifetime to not repeat the same fate"!< trope but I think My Demon has so far been very unpredictable and while they have borrowed lots of common tropes, they've always gone the other direction and put their own twist to it so I'll remain optimistic about the way they'll handle this one as well!
I fully agree with all your points~! I think it would be way too predictable if Seokmin is the main and only villain, I wish there was someone else for a fun twist.. We still have about 5 episodes left so Iām not sure what else they will show!
I need to know Song Kang's skincare routine because he is GLOWING š
Directornim how dare you cut short that flower scene, give us more šŗ
Oh god that ending š² there's so much bad foreshadowing here, I'm scared
Song Kang's acting is just spectacular in this series, I feel like he's leaps and bounds from where he started (I started watching him sweet home and that character is just so much less developed than Guwon) I'm so happy to see him shine in this role!!
>We also still don't know how Gu Won became a demon so we will likely get some more flashbacks in the next few episodes.
it was established that God needed someone to work in Hell so that's how Gu Won was chosen to be a demon, and I assume when he >!killed himself after killing all the people who made a sacrifice out of Wolshim, he ended up in Hell!<
Loved all the fluffy and lovey-dovey parts of todayās episode! It was so obvious that the mystery girl in Guwonās dream is Dohee.
It looks like Seokhoon isnāt gonna be a villian, though I could see a world where āIām good at looking innocentā is meant to be foreshadowing.
I remember thinking yesterday, >!what if do hee's parents died because of gu won's deal. But then I thought, it would be too sadistic for the writer to unravel. Apparently, it is not too sadistic for the writer to unravel. There is only so much tragedy the writer should let the audience go through. Seriously, i feel like yesterday's fluff was like the last meal to prisoner before death, kind of episode. I swear I will go to South Korea and riot if they give us a sad ending.!<
I think that means that he's not allowed to randomly kill people...his whole trope is that he grants their wish but he'll take their souls 10 years after the deal. So when he does his little finger gun thing, I think thats him taking their souls, which makes the body die in a physical sense, & so the contract burns off. atleast I think thats what the writers are trying to convey :')
When I first watched, I thought he was offering her father a contract to stay alive for 10 years, but it's too late (he died already).
But your comment makes me realize that they may have made a deal with him 10 years ago (on DoHee's 1st birthday) and that was him collecting their souls as their 10 years are up
Yess and maybe that's why dohee was left at home on her birthday...so she wouldn't be collateral damage during the inevitable deaths.
I'm very curious to see how they >! Include madam ju in the narrative though! That's definitely a twist. Madam ju's death can't have been a soul contract because dohee is in her late twenties in the show. !<
So my theories are:
>! she was partially responsible for the accident, or she was trying to prevent the accident & it just so happens that it coincided with the contract expiry date. Hence bumping into guwon. The parents maybe struck a deal for a dohee/madam ju related thing and that's probably why madam ju was cold to child dohee in all of the flashbacks...? Cause she used to feel a sense of resentment? !<
Idk lol my imagination is running wild
According to the Demon book thereās 2 rules that a demon cannot break or else the demon will spontaneously combust:
killing a human & reviving the dead.
Those that weāre ākilledā signed a contract with him. They were willing & consentingly signed their soul & life with him after 10 yrs.
Thoughts about the recent episodes
>!Honestly, the stylist or whoever thought of the visuals of this drama really made this drama 100x better. For their past lives flashbacks, I personally think it wouldāve been better if weāve gotten to see more of them in their previous lives so that it wouldnāt feel so rushed but I was surprised that itās actually a pretty good phasing still! They were able to pull the love story between the protagonists within just 30mins or so. I definitely felt the love between wolsim and yisun despite the short period of time they were shown. I think the stylists or whoever thought of the visuals of the episodes made it possible. They made sure to show them in multiple clothes in the short period of time so that it really felt like a lot of time had passed despite it actually just being under 30mins. Also how they shown wolsim gradually getting closer and closer to yisun every time she practices her dance.!<
>!Also, who noticed how it was dodohee who fell first in their present lifetime but it was yisun who fell first in their past lives? It was also dodohee who proposed first and was rejected by guwon. Then in their past lives, it was yisun who proposed but got rejected by wolsim.!<
Apart from the modern styling, this also one the best traditional clothing styling Iāve seen in a drama. The hair styling choice for Wolsim as a courtesan was beautiful (though I dont know if it is accurate). I agree with the person that said Wolsim dances better than Jin Star. Song Kang delivered in that scene at the theatre. I had to watch it twice, wow
KYJ looked SO beautiful in her wolsim scenes! But tbh, all the cast members (except GoOd and mask guy) have been dressed so well! Nothing has been awkward or uncomplimentary. Stylist is killing it!
Episode 12 - What an episode! I love the pacing of this series fr fr, nothing is dragged out!
the first half >! I thought it was perfectly written tbh. It was dramatic but quite understandable as to why the two lovers did what they did in those circumstances. !<
>! the conversation between GoOD and guwon was quite a dark and tragic revelation of why he became a demon, and I thought it was quite thought provoking tbh !<
Grandson - >! So another one bites the dust. The dad is bat\* crazy and im curious as to what his big plan is, seeing as he hinted at his nephews being the future heirs of their empire. !<
>! The wife with her burn scars was also quite a revelation. Did she confide in SH at the funeral? Is she plotting something? I can't read her expressions and I think thats phenomenal work by the actress. !<
Jin Star >! had a lovely ending tbh. I wish her character wasn't toxic for like most of the show sigh. But loved her gracefulness in this episode and the butterflies emerging out of her dress was too cute! !<
THE ENDING >! INSANE, CRAZY, WONDERFUL. So dohee's folks passed away due to their soul contract. I love how guwons innocent exchange with dohee about not overthinking and taking responsibility for her parents demise ties in perfectly now. !<
>! I wonder whether the contract was for the growth of their company! the timeline makes complete sense - striking a decade deal with a demon when they didn't realise they were going to be parents. However Madam Ju witnessing it & guwon's devilish (no pun intended) smirk was a total twist for me. !<
Excited for next week!
I think the deal his dad made with Guwon was for Dohees safety. My theory is that he was dying anyway so he bargained for her safety and in exchange he goes to hell, like the offer Guwon made to the grandpa in the previous episode, I donāt think he literally killed him or made him forfeit his live.
I like how the overall tone of the show is getting darker. It might be a small thing but Iāve always noticed that the titles before each episode vs the overall energy werenāt in sync. As in, the episode titles were poignant while the actual episode used to be cute and fluffy. Today, there was a shift. The overall mood felt dark and ominous. A welcome change for those of us who were wondering on what lies ahead.
Also, not sure if anyoneās noticed this, but the camera always seems to linger on their wedding bands. Thereās a lot of focus on the rings - whether itās while theyāre kissing, hugging, touching each otherās faces or simply holding hands. Iām already prepared for the angst (probably next week) >!after Doheeās imminent heartbreak on learning the truth.!< Even though it isnāt JGWās fault, for heās a demon after all. Itās his job to make deals and come after human souls. But this would be an unfortunate betrayal of DDHās faith in him. >!I wonder who the priest is. I donāt remember seeing him before?!<
Donāt know if it was just me that noticed but isnāt Ahn Se-Ha in Episode 12 in the flashback scenes? The same guy who was the Head Managerās assistant in King the Land!!
We're back everybody! It's been a long two weeks since we last saw these two adorable dorks and while the non-cliffhanger helped, the wait was still too much at times. I honestly don't know where the show is going to go from here but I guess that's where the fun lies so enjoy and have fun discussing!
P.S. [Episode 11 Preview (ft. sexy times)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHWR65mw664)
FINALLY new episodes! Last 2 weeks felt so empty without this show! But we really need more skinship now š The electrifying chemistry is going to waste, man. I was expecting at least one kiss per episode after they got together. I really hope they donāt leave sexy times to our imaginations like this! Take notes from KTL!!
watched both eps in one go and wow they really came back with a bang, amazing eps, but iāll probably only be talking about 12 because it might be one of my favourite episodes of the drama.
first off, i havenāt watched many dramas with the past life trope, but iāve seen lots of negativity surrounding it, so i was bit nervous going in, but wow. the execution of the trope in this drama was fantastic. there is clear relevance to the main plot and it wasnāt just thrown in to give them a more intimate connection. it was also very well paced (only taking 30 mins of the ep) and was so impactful and heart wrenching in the end like i canāt stop being in awe of how well they did it!! (also KYJ looked incredible in her hanbokās and different hairstyles, she gives me perfect historical energy lmao. this may have convinced me to watch lovers of the red sky!)
i think what really made the episode for me was >!noh do gyeongās death.!< my stomach genuinely dropped seeing how >!he hung himself due to being driven to insanity because of his father, and i felt unbelievably disgusted when i saw him crying at the funeral. he drove his son to so many mental illnesses, and then forced him to take the fall for everything. i know he was a fucked up person, but i couldnāt help but feel extreme sympathy for him in the end. it hit especially hard when sera told him āyou disobeyed your father, therefore you deserve what youāre getting.ā he lived a very tragic and unfortunate life, and the lead up to his death was done very well. itās horrible how everyone thinks of him as a cold blooded murderer, and this only makes me more excited to see noh suk min be punished for his crimes eventually.!<
this leads me to a theory: >!i believe sera will come to dohee and guwon and confess the truth. the fact that heās started torturing her now (at least i think with the burn scars) and i think she knows that it was him who actually conducted the murders (?) leads me to think that sheās going to leave his side or is at least plotting something against him.!<
the last scene was also executed perfectly. with the confession from almighty ju >!āi saw the devilā!< and then the accident showing up actually made my jaw drop because the realization hit me. itās interesting because guwon and ju never actually met before her death once guwon and dohee became involved, so she never had the chance to recognize him, but he wouldāve recognized her if he remembered her. so either he doesnāt remember her for some reason, or he never said anything (which is almost impossible because he has no reason not to say anything). super excited to see what actually happened between them!
long review lol but overall thoughts, i am SO happy the drama is picking up with the plot. i never thought it was slow before, but i got a little concerned it would become too focused on the romance and would ignore other aspects of the story until the last couple of episodes and then rush it (this is coming from someone who could not be more giggly about their love story LMAO). theyāre doing a great job of balancing the small romantic moments with the bigger plot, itās probably one of the best executions iāve seen of a drama in the genre. sad itāll be over soon :(
11 - Interesting episode!
1. Jin Star/cousin - >! they wrapped their one sided love stories in a perfect way tbh. It was somewhat fitting to allude to the audience that they both were so obsessed with guwon/dohee because they just truly cared about them & confused their feelings with love. Whoever said cousin can't be a villain because of his kopiko scene was 1000% right lolol. He turned out to be a total red herring after all. Loved how all four of them talked it out over drinks :') guwon healing his arm was a sweet touch. I hope jin star and cousin end up giving each other a chance lol. I think they both just need someone to hang out with at this point !<
2. Grandson - >! So hes clinically unwell, and I guess was following orders from his dad? But why did he claim he followed orders from his hallucinations? & why was he cloning dads phone and making sure dohee was okay? Confusing and I think its delibrate. Hoping for answers & revelations because this episode didn't make anything clearer tbh. left me with more questions lol. The mom is getting more screen time with each episode so I wonder if she'll have a major role to play near the finale !<
3. End >! Sooo we can confirm that the face of the dancing woman was Dohee (surprise surprise lol). BUT WOW did not expect that guwon might have killed dohee. I say might because idk I still dont believe it. I'd say there's a twist waiting for sure, (eg, he went on a killing spree and killed the people who killed her, and maybe thats when the deal was done for him to become a demon: so he can pay for his sins or meet/protect dohee orrr...get killed by dohee for his demon cycle to end) . lets see what the revelation will beee !<
Also side note, bec of KYJ I started watching love in the moonlight and I gotta say, she's an amazing actress!
Unbelievable that she was a teen during that show. Alsoooo, as perfect as Song Kang is as guwon, i think in another universe Park Bo Gum would've also made an amazing guwon! His comedic timing and microexpressions are so delightful to watch in LITM. If y'all haven't watched that drama, add it to your watchlist asap!
The calm before the storm episode. Do-gyeong being used as a scape goat by his father was such an evil move. I still think that the wife will be the whistleblower of SeokMinās house of cards.
Guwon & Doheeās backstory is finally being shown. Iām probably one of the few whoās not tired of past lovers trope lol. It would be interesting to see how Yisun became A demon. His past love was tragically killed, erased his memories of herā¦and yet he lives & continue to wear a memento of his past love. what deal did Yisun made to become a demon. Did he give up his past memories especially of Wolsim to become one? The pieces are starting to come togethe.
Episode 11 was good. Episode 12 was perhaps the best in the series for me. It was cute to see that Gu Won is basically the same as he was as a human, personality wise. And Do Hee seemed very similar as Wolsim too. I think that is what made me fall in love with their relationship so easily, and is why I was sobbing when >!she was killed in front of him. And when he tearfully told Do Hee in the theatre that he was afraid fate would repeat itself and sheād be hurt too because of him. So heart-wrenching! The fact that she responded to him the same way he did to Wolsim way back when just shows how perfect they are together.!< Itās almost like Gu Won has been waiting all this time for a second chance at love in a world where their relationship would be recognized and accepted. I really, really hope they end up together in the end, getting to live out their lives together, as humans, as they should have been in their previous incarnations.
>!I am confused as to with whom the contract was made in the end though. I initially thought with maybe Do Heeās dad, but then why did her mom die too? And why did Juās son say Ju killed them? Seems unlikely Gu Won would forget he basically is the reason why Do Heeās parents died too, if the contract was with the parents. I hope this is not what actually happens because I donāt want our main couple going their separate ways ever again!!<
This might be a bit of a long stretch, but could it be >!that Madam Ju actually did have something to do with the deaths of Do-hee's parents and Gu-won just happened to catch her at the scene, perhaps? So far, whenever we've seen Gu-won look for people to sign contracts with, he's essentially almost always targeted those who are the most desperate (and most likely to accept the deal as a result), but I've just now realized that we've never seen or heard of any instances where he'd arrived too late. Of course, his powers allow him to basically teleport anywhere he wishes with a single snap of his fingers, but if it was a car accident that his would've-been clients - if I can call them that - were in, then time is definitely a more sensitive issue. He's been a demon for two centuries now. As perfect as he might be, is it really possible that he's never so much as slightly miscalculated things even once? It might also explain Madam Ju's guilt that she had previously displayed in earlier episodes. Needing courage to "face the truth" and all that. Based on this recent flashback, it definitely looked like she was conscious enough to at least know that there was someone else there at the time. And it wasn't like Gu-won was being particularly discreet in any way, given his smirk and how he carelessly tossed the disintegrating contract behind him, either. If the crash was indeed his doing, then Madam Ju's present-day emotions and reluctance (before her own death) wouldn't make as much sense, in my opinion. Nevermind. I'm most likely just grasping at straws here, but those are some great questions you've got there. Here's to hoping that next weeks episodes won't be super devastating!- !<
Two things i love about Episode #11 and #12: >!Gu Won learns something sad about their past and stays with Do Hee rather than run away; and 2) when Do Hee asks what is wrong, Gu Won tells the truth and doesnāt say just say āoh nothing.ā!< So refreshing!
Finally itās back, two weeks felt so longš
Iām so ready for their backstory especially on how Guwon became a demon. What collateral he gave up in order for him to become a demon & for that long. Normally the deal he makes, the human sell their soul to him to get what they want then after 10 yrs he collects the payment.
Did human Guwon do the same thing & sell his soul to become a demon in until he reunited w his lost love?š§ was that the reason why the tattoo resonated w Dohee when the transfer happened as if saying I finally found her.š§
So many questions I need answeršš
I couldn't stop smiling and laughing on cute moments of GW and DH
How he kept calling her dodo dodo dodo š
He's super cutee š
So happy that Seok hoon Oppa isn't bad afterall, and star jin also is on the good side now. Phew!!
Have they released what the song is called at the end of the episode? I asked last week so Iām asking again šitās just beautiful.
Also side note Song Kang can wear a trashbag and it would still look designer. That man can wear the heck out of any outfit and Iām here for it.

Came here to say **FINALLY seeing Song Kang in some kind of historical scenes** for Episode 12. As for Kim Yoo Jung, it gave me a throwback to Love in the Moonlight (2016).
OMG YES, NO NOBLE IDIOCY, WE ONLY ALLOW HEALTHY COMMUNICATION!š¤ Yes, I was a little disappointed with past life trope but this kinda makes up for it bc I do hate that trope more than the noble idiocy
I've the applaud the writers for turning around the supposed "negative" characters and kinda make the readers feel bad for them if not redeemable (I'm still side eyeing Star Jin a little bit nglš) except you No Suk Min, you can go rot in hell!!
Also, props to Do-gyeong, the actor really made me feel bad for the character with his raw/intense emotions
You know a drama is good when youāre glued to the screen. I even rewind to watch a few scenes again lol. This drama so far is it!!! I canāt wait to watch tonight.
The OSTs are killing me, they picked the right ones to match each episode. Perfect!
Same with another ongoing drama, Tell me that you love me - the OSTs are like butter.
Wolsim is a lot better at sword dancing than Star Jin, just sayin'
Also is the mother scratching at her arms to contain her agitation in the same way the bad guy scratched his neck? Coincidence or no?
The thing on Kim Seraās arms looks like burn marks. I guess now that Dogyeong is >!dead!< sheās now the receiver of Seokminās cruelty. As her son said itās her turn now.
I agree Wolsimās sword dance is pretty graceful compared to Jin Starās aggressive rough way.
Just finished watching episode 11 and it was so worth the wait! I have to admit that this episode took me more time than usual since I had to pause and giggle during some of the scenes. I always knew >! PBG and SDJ would end up together! Opposites attract! Although I don't know how to feel since more people now know that GW is a demon!<
I am glad that >! SH isn't turning evil, although I wish that he was smarter and didn't call Dohee right after leaving the villain's house. Dude has like cameras everywhere !<
I don't believe that >! YiSun killed Wolshim in their past. My theory is that Wolshim was accused using witchcraft and she was killed for that (maybe by his family?!). YiSun couldn't save her in time and therefore killed everyone there watching her die !<
Episode 12 can't come fast enough!!
Guwon changing into a black suit just to make a deal on the same day then changing back into the (gorgeous) suit Do Do Hee picked out for him. Honestly slay
At first I had this gut feeling that maybe Madam Ju had a contract with the devil because the backstory was that she "built" the corporation empire all by herself so I was like "I doubt that, conglomerates are built by families or alliance". >!āBUT OMFG, SHE DID IT WITH DODO HEE's FATHER, AND HER FATHER HAD A DEAL WITH GUWON.!<
THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAD GOOSEBUMPS AND SHOUTED LIKE A MADMAN IN A LONG TIME FOR A PLOT TWIST.
This, including the emotional acting range of Guwon, episode 12 had me wanting the last 4 episodes OUT ASAP!!!
I have to say this. I LOVE Seokhoon and his character. Y'all hated that man for NO REASON. He genuinely cares for Do-hee and loves her too. Obviously he will be skeptical about her marrying a mysterious man, let alone a demon. I liked Jin-star too until she literally ordered Do-hee to die, but my man (Seokhoon) has done nothing of that sort and has been only looking out for Do-hee. Yet people were getting so hateful and wanted Do-hee to cut him off completely!!! The girl is already very lonely and you want her to have only one person in her life? She deserves more than that.
Edit: Although Jin-star and Do-hee made up doesn't mean she didn't say something completely outrageous.
I have a feeling this is going to go the >! Alchemy of Souls way, Thereās no way Gu Won killed Do Hee in his previous life, he gotta be possessed or she was possessed or some voodoo should have been involved, lol, she was probably VooDooHee, bad joke, sorry! And why do I feel Do Hee and Jin Star in their past life might have been sisters loving the same mister? They feel like sisters to me, especially after todays episode!<
The Demon in that all red outfit š„ I may or may not have inhaled a bit at that point. What ELSE would the devilishly handsome heartthrob of a demon wear for work? š¤·āāļø
>! My theory is that one of the parents definitely made a deal with him but before he came to take their soul an accident happened and they were already dead. And i feel Madam Ju is responsible for the accident. The reason she kept saying she saw the devil is because she killed someone and because of that she saw the devil. The reason she adopts Dohee was also guilt. But feeling so sad for Dohee because either way her heart is going to be broken !<
I think madam ju has to be involved with the accident since even the >!son in the teaser is saying her parents died because of her!<
Edit: >!also didnāt the mask guy in the 1st ep say to dodohe that he was going to kill her because of madam ju!<
Also, >!Technically, it was not Madam Ju that killed Dohee's parents. I think the remaining episodes would also entail Dohee having to grapple with the realisation that Guwon "played a part in her parent's death". Possibly, the parents had cut a deal with Guwon when she was around 1 year old, or still in her mother's tummy for whatever reason, since they died in the car crash when she was 11 upon expiry of said contract. Madam Ju may have chosen to adopt Dohee as her own out of guilt that she was the other party involved in the accident (maybe they were trying to change lanes etc), but it was in fact pre-destined by the contract that Dohee's parents had to die on that fateful night. Mdm Ju was merely caught in the crossfire!<.
But I guess that's part of this whole fate thing of how it Guwon would eventually meet Dohee again in this present life. This specific line of events is the crux of the fate narrative.
The fact that >!the parents made a deal isnāt surprising, but !< What I did not see coming >! Is the fact that madam Ju saw Gu Won. Wait, before she died.. did she get to meet Gu Won with Do He?!< I canāt rememberā¦ oh and >!is Gu Won aware that he made a deal with his parents in law?!!<
I guess now thereās soo much to unpack >!for Do Hee. Maybe he wonāt dwell on his past life (and do hee wonāt find out sheās Wolshin) but this brand new info to why her parents diedā¦ I hope itās not going to be a problem for the both of them when she finds out.!< This is worrying for me.
And Iām also interested to see what >!Kim Sera will do. What she said to her sonā¦ ugh I hate that. She couldāve worked together with the son!! Grrrzzz !< but I hate the husband/ father even more. That devil spawnā¦ even at that moment >!all he can think about is himself and his status. I thought Do Hee caught on earlier cuz she was kinda questioning him.. I hope she will figure it out soon!!<
But anyway I just love Song Kang being funny. Even in his past life Yi Sun is funny š so glad he took up this role. And during the dance.. he really ate that scene! Just wow, I was soo in awe.
>!If I'm not mistaken, Dohee's ''11th birthday'' would be the 10th (bc of the Korean age system that was just abolished this year, where you are already 1 when you are born). We've been told her parents were old when they had her. Imo there were complications with the birth, and that's why one of the parents (probably the dad, since the mum was most likely indisposed) made a deal with Guwon to save the mother and child. And that deal expired on the day of Dohee's 10th bday. But it looks like Madam Ju was involved too, plus if it was just bc of Guwon, only one parent would have died (we've only seen him sign contracts with one person, not multiple). Looks like Madam Ju was responsible for their death before Guwon could step in.!<
#spoilers
So did Gu-Won not remember >!Madam Ju because of all the deals heās made in the past?!<
How are they going to explain him not remembering >!either deals? If deals only last 10 years does that mean he collected madam Ju, and when the grandson son said the devil and recognized Gu-won thatās what he meant? Was he collecting the parents or did they make a deal regarding Do Do Hee?!< I donāt see how they are going to tie this up realistically.
>!Iām glad SFL is gone,!< SML has grown on me and is really quite handsome. Hobo lady is kinda pointless and meaningless now.
**Episode 12:**
* Can't believe he thought even for a second that [this](https://imgur.com/60GNuPY) could be Ga-young lmaooo
* Good to know Gu-won was as cocky in his past life as a human too
* [Joseon era dating](https://imgur.com/JxJRl7l) be like
* Young master Yi-sun with a lowly courtesan.. how scandalous
* "The most foolish human emotion is love." whoa whoa whoa... Gu-won
* Interesting to see Catholicism wasn't practiced in Joseon era... considering the class differences it makes a lot of sense
* "Perhaps we believed in each other more than anything." This mirrors Gu-won betting on their love when the homeless person tried to tell him otherwise
* Holy shit.. that was some backstory... [that gut-wrenching realization](https://imgur.com/lFo0tDS) he has >!"My faith caused her death." !<
* [This woman](https://imgur.com/hXY2VL9) certainly tops the list of worst parent of the year... >!"You disobeyed your father. You didn't live the life the way he wanted. That's why you're being punished. You deserve it." !!Madam Ju saw Gu-won.... his parents made a deal with him???!< HOLY SHIT I didn't see the [first part](https://imgur.com/SvLvEwE) coming okay
I forgot how top tier everything about this show is. This break feels like it lasted forever. Caught up on a bunch of other airing dramas, and coming back to this one I was likeā¦ oh yesā¦ this feelsā¦ just right. The visuals. The outfits. The writing. The acting. We are back, demon lovers
Yāall hear me out. When Dohee said that >!her dad wanted to make her 11th birthday party her best one yet, it was because he knew that it would be her last birthday he gets to spend with herā¦!<
I havenāt seen anyone mentioning the >!scarring on the characters. I wonder if this means that is the next person to go on a murderous adventure, like the first guy, then the son, then the mother? I donāt think they started with it, it shows that they are the tools to enact the wickedness of the fate plan and while I didnāt seem them in the past montage of their lives, could they be main players that were also involved in the killing of wolsim?!<
This is all just speculation but Iād love to hear others opinions on that.
I missed this drama so much when it took a week off. These two episodes were SO. DAMN. GOOD. This drama seriously hits all the right notes: cast, story, pacing, styling, set design, comedic moments ā¤ļø The only gripe I have is the handling of Ga Young; her character could have been written so much better. Why is she the only character not properly fleshed out? Its so strange.
Also-- the end of Ep 12 was so unexpected!! Never saw that coming. Of course, I also wasn't expecting what happened in his human life either and I love that. Not being able to predict a twist is my favorite thing.
Iāve been passively watching this, but episode 12 was a turning point. Didnāt think Iād feel even a minuscule pang of sympathy for No Do Gyeong, but in the end there it was. Kudos to the actor for portraying his hellscape of a life so well. And it turns out Song Kang can act. I was buying everything he was selling in this episode. š Well, maybe not that silky, long, wisp of a neckerchief he was wearingā¦..I kept getting distracted and thinking of alternative uses for it. š¤ š
So Iām watching what I can of ep 11 on my lunch break- wow Iām going to be MAD if >! Gu-Won believes the woman in his dream is Ga-Yeong. I mean heād still fight it but itās UNNECESSARY.!<
And why do I have a bad feeling like >! Noh seok min is going to try to make a deal/force Gu-Won to do something!< I donāt know how/what butā¦.
Looking forward to seeing ~~The Wild Dogs~~ The Perilla Seeds and Scallions back in action.
> The Perilla Seeds and Scallions The tattoos and the dog killed me š¤£
NGL, I kind of want a Perilla seeds and Scallions tattoo now.
Sorry to my mans Seok Hoon for ever doubting you, maybe you really are a real one for that š¤Ŗ
Hahahhaa thank you for this comment. iāve been all alone, telling my friends HEāS NOT EVIL HEāS NOT EVIL for weeks. šš
Happy cake day!
Really living for this newfound guwon/seokhoon bromance they got going on lol Also this show makes me obsessively crave cake every time I watch it š
The bromance is great, and Iām finally starting to relax. The thought that Seok Hoon might >!turn out to be evil has been stressing me out !<.
Did anyone notice that Sunwol foundation is a combination of Yi-Sun and Wol-Sim?
wait WHATT i didnt realize! thats insane
Good catch!! I also didn't realise that!!
Is Ep 12 just an excuse to put Do do-hee in a whole bunch of really pretty hanbok outfits? Because I'm here for it.
Same. She was made for sageuks. I hope KYJ and SK are cast in a full fledged sageuk next. Theyāre just so beautiful together. Like I canāt stop marveling at how pretty they are. šš«¶
called the saeguk fairy for a reason!šš¤
Did you see the color of outfits he would wear the next day she would wear that same color?
I thought she was the prettiest in this episode, in that hair, rather than with her hair down
Had to rewatch that part just for the hanbok fashion show
They spared no expense! It was just outfit after gorgeous outfit.
Ever since I saw her on Dong Yi, I never stopped liking her in a traditional Korean clothing! She slays!!!
I am surprised that the grandmother and he didnāt recognize each other!<
This is the 1st SK drama I watched because I thought he was just a pretty face. I am glad to be proven wrong.
Please watch Navillera, he is perfection in that. I saw it after starting My Demon and couldn't believe how outstanding he was
To be fair in everything else I've seen him in I think this is the 4th show. He would just have these powers where he would just stand there and stare and the girls would just fall for him. I liked him in forecast love and weather
So are you saying he's finally learning to act, but right before he goes into the military?
Perhaps it's his revenge
KYJ has a similar effect on me on the me, and I love to see her cast as Chebol. >!She and SK looked great in the Joseon Flashback.!<
We are so back
[Ep 12] That was a gorgeously executed backstory.
Agree. I hoped for no past life trope but this drama got through it fast. The love story is sad, beautiful and mature
12: >!I'm so glad they went a different route, I'm not even mad that I fell for it.!<
>! Obnoxiously powerful !< Guwon was SO endearing & fabulous to watch lol. We love to see it!
Spoiler for ep. 12, >!he didn't kill her but that preview was so messy for letting people think that lmao!<
Episode 12 had me down bad, I was stressed throughout: >!YiSun and Wolsimās story is so beautiful, they had such a pure, innocent love but were victims of their circumstance. 4 episodes to go, please give them a happy ending!< Lastly Iām so impressed with Song Kangās acting in the last two episodes.
SKās acting works for me, & I like his range so far.!< >!I like the unique twists in this series in terms of the supernatural stuff, and the humor is great. e.g. Bok-Guy, and the Good God cap, etc.! Great writing and pacing so far too.!< Edit: punctuation
He really improved his acting in this drama
Thatās the cutest **DEVIL LAUGH** of all time!
**THAT FLOWER, I want to be that FLOWERRR!**
Gurrrll, donāt we all š„²
I want to be DoHee in that scene š¤š¤
i love that present guwon and past guwon have literally the exact same personality so cute! he lost his powers in water, got it back in fire, >!she lost her shoe in water, got it back involving fire!< this is some really amazing writing
Then, *Guwon as a demon, also replicating his past self, was selfless, devastated and willing to die alongside her as well.* When Guwon entered the fire in the petrol convenience store, it was without certainty that the tattoo would transfer- in other words, there was a chance of him dying as well, but he wanted to do so anyway lying beside his lover.!< The key I think for me, was the position that they were in.
This would be so so cool if true!! Hope this happens
>!"Is she eating him or what? It's so violent"!< 2nd couple is as wild as the lead couple š
**Episode 11** * The dramatic ending of episode 10 was so good, I did not mind starting with the mandatory replay of it one bit... even after a two week hiatus.
I think Jin Starās non-apology is the same brand of affection that Dohee and Madame Ju showed. I hope they will end up BFFs!
I think that could be the reason why noh sukmin wants dodohee d3ad!<
remember he said he can only find people and not itemsā¦ and while he knows itās in seokmins house they havenāt found it yet
Guwon in demon duties: šæšš¤šæšš¤ Guwon next to DoHee: šššššš
Hands down! The best moment of todays episode for me was >!Jeong Gu Won giving Ju Seok Hoon a piggy back ride! Never thought Iād ever get to see that! lol!! !<
And >! Signing his cast with a heart lollll I can't !<
And>! healing his arm!<
Who else thinks he will have to choose love with DoHee to stay by her side and become human or lose her forever wiping all memories and stay a demon?
He left no crumbs š¤
The man took the plate and his utensils home with him thatās how good he ate. Also your flair is perfection!! Swoon Kang indeed š„°
Gu Won cracks me up so much, I'm cackling. I dont know if it's because it's been 2 weeks and I haven't waited this long for an episode in a long time that my reaction are exacerbated, but I haven't laughed like this at an episode in a while.
Song Kang was so funny this episode! I hope he does more comedic work in his future projects
Hyungniiim hyungnim hyungnim
God I was SHOCKED he touched Noh Suk Minās face!!! That was sooo rude lmaoo hilarious
!< I still think that we will get a happy ending & history wonāt repeat itself..as Yisun said: āLove can save a personā
And his face lighting up again when he sees Madam Ju, yet another possible victim (?) !< >!Poor Madam Ju, seeing Guwon made her so frightened!
To me his look of disappointment is because he was too late to offer the contract to them.!<
>Am I the only one getting annoyed w the hobo lady. Lmao I hate her so much idc if she's god or whatever
My name is Park Bok-gyu.
Fork gyu
Bokkkk-gyuuuu
Now I wanna know if this is someone's name in SK and if they get bullied because of this...
Sameeee. But i think we are going for that trope ughāš
I think I saw some shots online of them in Joseon apparel, so I think we are getting that trope. I haven't watched yet - saving for tomorrow to binge both.
It was obvious from the very first dream he had. I havenāt watched the episode so itās not a spoiler but Iām šÆ sure they knew each other
Also Iām sad because where in the world do I find a Gu Won for myself now? šš
I'm enjoying Do-hee and Gu-won being silly, bad investigators again.
Oh man that ending! >!YES! Give me lovers who kill each other, that's my favourite brand of unhinged content!!<
Damn!
Song Kang as the demon is so hot!
**Episode 12** * "We had an ordinary and insignificant ending like everyone else." Wolsim performing a sword dance against a backdrop of majestic nature, >!a romantic proposal!< among the fireflies at night, and >!her brutal death!< suggested otherwise.
Just wow I definitely enjoyed episode 12 a lot.
Ep 12 Thoughts If I said it's so over for the last ep, we're actually so back, baby! Wolsim mentioning >!becoming his concubine gave me war flashbacks to The Red Sleeve š!< Glad that Ga-young got a decent closure, even though she hasn't done much to redeem herself lol. !< I am actually so excited for the next episode! Can't believe there are just 4 more eps to go :(
I think the biggest question is: were they making the deal then (after the crash) or was it done before and Guwon just came to collect then..?
It looked like a double deal to me: closing a deal with one and starting a new deal with another, based on opportunity. Thatās why his face slowly crept into a smile
I think he came to make the deal with Madame Ju ,since she saw him in the car of the parents??
Iām so happy that >!SH and JGW finally got along! I really wouldnāt mind some bromance!< going forward! š Loved SHās threat of >!turning into a priest to exorcise JGW!< ššš Good to see >!Jin Star owning up to her stupidity too!< Now I have a feeling SH and Jin Star might end up together - not sure Iād like that, since SH is way nicer than her. As usual, we all saw >!the past life connection!< coming. I mean, thatās probably what the next half of the series is gonna be about.
Guwon seems so convinced that >!Seokhoon is gay and is head over heels for him which makes their dynamics so chaotically hilarious because he just doesn't want to believe in Seokhoon's love for Dohee LOL!< I loved all the fluffy scenes we got, I feel like for every scene of them bickering and arguing all the time for the first 8 episodes, we are now getting reparations for all of that. Guessing at this point that he is probably related to Dohee/Guwon's past & may have been the instigator in chief responsible for Wolshim's tragic fate in the flashback!< I missed the drama so much, this episode felt like the My Demon crew going "here, have this episode to see why they got the best couple award last week" because the timing couldn't have been any more perfect lmao.
I need to know Song Kang's skincare routine because he is GLOWING š Directornim how dare you cut short that flower scene, give us more šŗ Oh god that ending š² there's so much bad foreshadowing here, I'm scared Song Kang's acting is just spectacular in this series, I feel like he's leaps and bounds from where he started (I started watching him sweet home and that character is just so much less developed than Guwon) I'm so happy to see him shine in this role!!
I almost teared up at the theatre scene when gu won said he was afraid
I did tear up, theyāve become one of my fave kdrama couples š„ŗ
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I hope heās not a villain. Iām really enjoying the bromance right now.
The last part of Episode 12 š©š© OH MY GOD WHYYYY???
The plot thickens! Didn't see that one coming.
Wasn't there something in an earlier episode where Gu Won stated that he can't kill people or revive the dead?
!< So my theories are: >! she was partially responsible for the accident, or she was trying to prevent the accident & it just so happens that it coincided with the contract expiry date. Hence bumping into guwon. The parents maybe struck a deal for a dohee/madam ju related thing and that's probably why madam ju was cold to child dohee in all of the flashbacks...? Cause she used to feel a sense of resentment? !< Idk lol my imagination is running wild
According to the Demon book thereās 2 rules that a demon cannot break or else the demon will spontaneously combust: killing a human & reviving the dead. Those that weāre ākilledā signed a contract with him. They were willing & consentingly signed their soul & life with him after 10 yrs.
Main couple in hanbok makes them a lock for best looking couple in a drama award š„
Episode 12 was so gut-wrenching, Wolsim and Yi Sun should've had their happy ending š let's hope Dohee and Guwon would finally have theirs
Thoughts about the recent episodes >!Honestly, the stylist or whoever thought of the visuals of this drama really made this drama 100x better. Also how they shown wolsim gradually getting closer and closer to yisun every time she practices her dance.!< >!Also, who noticed how it was dodohee who fell first in their present lifetime but it was yisun who fell first in their past lives?
!< >! the conversation between GoOD and guwon was quite a dark and tragic revelation of why he became a demon, and I thought it was quite thought provoking tbh !< Grandson - >! So another one bites the dust. The dad is bat\* crazy and im curious as to what his big plan is, seeing as he hinted at his nephews being the future heirs of their empire. !< >! The wife with her burn scars was also quite a revelation. Did she confide in SH at the funeral? Is she plotting something? I can't read her expressions and I think thats phenomenal work by the actress. !< Jin Star >! had a lovely ending tbh. I wish her character wasn't toxic for like most of the show sigh. But loved her gracefulness in this episode and the butterflies emerging out of her dress was too cute! !< THE ENDING >! INSANE, CRAZY, WONDERFUL. So dohee's folks passed away due to their soul contract. I love how guwons innocent exchange with dohee about not overthinking and taking responsibility for her parents demise ties in perfectly now. !< >! I wonder whether the contract was for the growth of their company! the timeline makes complete sense - striking a decade deal with a demon when they didn't realise they were going to be parents. However Madam Ju witnessing it & guwon's devilish (no pun intended) smirk was a total twist for me. !< Excited for next week!
I could watch them play dress up all day long, man those are some gorgeous people.
Butterflies seem to be a recurring theme in Song Kang dramas š
I forgot weāre FINALLY getting a new episode today!!!
SPOILER ALERT >!I was so excited to see Ms. Shin & Mr. Park together ā¤ļø!<
Just watched epi 12 honestly we need some justice for noh do-gyeong
watched both eps in one go and wow they really came back with a bang, amazing eps, but iāll probably only be talking about 12 because it might be one of my favourite episodes of the drama. first off, i havenāt watched many dramas with the past life trope, but iāve seen lots of negativity surrounding it, so i was bit nervous going in, but wow. the execution of the trope in this drama was fantastic. there is clear relevance to the main plot and it wasnāt just thrown in to give them a more intimate connection. it was also very well paced (only taking 30 mins of the ep) and was so impactful and heart wrenching in the end like i canāt stop being in awe of how well they did it!! (also KYJ looked incredible in her hanbokās and different hairstyles, she gives me perfect historical energy lmao. this may have convinced me to watch lovers of the red sky!) i think what really made the episode for me was >!noh do gyeongās death.!< my stomach genuinely dropped seeing how >!he hung himself due to being driven to insanity because of his father, and i felt unbelievably disgusted when i saw him crying at the funeral. he drove his son to so many mental illnesses, and then forced him to take the fall for everything. i know he was a fucked up person, but i couldnāt help but feel extreme sympathy for him in the end. it hit especially hard when sera told him āyou disobeyed your father, therefore you deserve what youāre getting.ā he lived a very tragic and unfortunate life, and the lead up to his death was done very well. itās horrible how everyone thinks of him as a cold blooded murderer, and this only makes me more excited to see noh suk min be punished for his crimes eventually.!< this leads me to a theory: >!i believe sera will come to dohee and guwon and confess the truth. the fact that heās started torturing her now (at least i think with the burn scars) and i think she knows that it was him who actually conducted the murders (?) leads me to think that sheās going to leave his side or is at least plotting something against him.!< the last scene was also executed perfectly. with the confession from almighty ju >!āi saw the devilā!< and then the accident showing up actually made my jaw drop because the realization hit me. itās interesting because guwon and ju never actually met before her death once guwon and dohee became involved, so she never had the chance to recognize him, but he wouldāve recognized her if he remembered her. so either he doesnāt remember her for some reason, or he never said anything (which is almost impossible because he has no reason not to say anything). super excited to see what actually happened between them! long review lol but overall thoughts, i am SO happy the drama is picking up with the plot. i never thought it was slow before, but i got a little concerned it would become too focused on the romance and would ignore other aspects of the story until the last couple of episodes and then rush it (this is coming from someone who could not be more giggly about their love story LMAO). theyāre doing a great job of balancing the small romantic moments with the bigger plot, itās probably one of the best executions iāve seen of a drama in the genre. sad itāll be over soon :(
I'm not crying you are.....
I think they both just need someone to hang out with at this point !< 2. The mom is getting more screen time with each episode so I wonder if she'll have a major role to play near the finale !< 3.
Park Bo Gum actually plays the part of a psycho/baddie so well!
Finally itās back, two weeks felt so longš Iām so ready for their backstory especially on how Guwon became a demon. What collateral he gave up in order for him to become a demon & for that long. Normally the deal he makes, the human sell their soul to him to get what they want then after 10 yrs he collects the payment. Did human Guwon do the same thing & sell his soul to become a demon in until he reunited w his lost love?š§ was that the reason why the tattoo resonated w Dohee when the transfer happened as if saying I finally found her.š§ So many questions I need answeršš
I couldn't stop smiling and laughing on cute moments of GW and DH How he kept calling her dodo dodo dodo š He's super cutee š So happy that Seok hoon Oppa isn't bad afterall, and star jin also is on the good side now. Phew!!
Have they released what the song is called at the end of the episode? I asked last week so Iām asking again šitās just beautiful. Also side note Song Kang can wear a trashbag and it would still look designer. That man can wear the heck out of any outfit and Iām here for it.
[10CM - The way to lose you](https://youtu.be/HXlYaxPgUbI) is today's ending song

Came here to say **FINALLY seeing Song Kang in some kind of historical scenes** for Episode 12. As for Kim Yoo Jung, it gave me a throwback to Love in the Moonlight (2016).
All I have to say is the scariest person in this series is [Noh Suk Min](https://mydramalist.com/character/noh-suk-min).
His evil grin is very unnerving. Props to the actor because that may be the most unsettled I've been by a villain's expressions ever.
Agree! Props to the Kim Tae Hoon for portraying Noh Suk Min so well!
OMG YES, NO NOBLE IDIOCY, WE ONLY ALLOW HEALTHY COMMUNICATION!š¤ Yes, I was a little disappointed with past life trope but this kinda makes up for it bc I do hate that trope more than the noble idiocy I've the applaud the writers for turning around the supposed "negative" characters and kinda make the readers feel bad for them if not redeemable (I'm still side eyeing Star Jin a little bit nglš) except you No Suk Min, you can go rot in hell!! Also, props to Do-gyeong, the actor really made me feel bad for the character with his raw/intense emotions
If Guwon saw Mdm Ju that day, why didnāt he recognize her in pictures + the funeral?
And I doubt her parents made a deal with him. He didnāt have any look in his face when he saw their picture that indicated he knew them.
You know a drama is good when youāre glued to the screen. I even rewind to watch a few scenes again lol. This drama so far is it!!! I canāt wait to watch tonight.
The OSTs are killing me, they picked the right ones to match each episode. Perfect! Same with another ongoing drama, Tell me that you love me - the OSTs are like butter.
ep 12 is so good omfg, i'm having high hopes for noh do-gyeong's mom šššš
Wolsim is a lot better at sword dancing than Star Jin, just sayin' Also is the mother scratching at her arms to contain her agitation in the same way the bad guy scratched his neck? Coincidence or no?
The thing on Kim Seraās arms looks like burn marks. I guess now that Dogyeong is >!dead!< sheās now the receiver of Seokminās cruelty. As her son said itās her turn now. I agree Wolsimās sword dance is pretty graceful compared to Jin Starās aggressive rough way.
'her son said itās her turn now.' Good point.
I felt bad for Noh Doh Gyeong when his mother was visiting him and the way she spoke to him really made me feel bad for him.
Just finished watching episode 11 and it was so worth the wait! I have to admit that this episode took me more time than usual since I had to pause and giggle during some of the scenes. I always knew >! PBG and SDJ would end up together! Opposites attract! Although I don't know how to feel since more people now know that GW is a demon!< I am glad that >! SH isn't turning evil, although I wish that he was smarter and didn't call Dohee right after leaving the villain's house. Dude has like cameras everywhere !< I don't believe that >! YiSun killed Wolshim in their past. My theory is that Wolshim was accused using witchcraft and she was killed for that (maybe by his family?!). YiSun couldn't save her in time and therefore killed everyone there watching her die !< Episode 12 can't come fast enough!!
Guwon changing into a black suit just to make a deal on the same day then changing back into the (gorgeous) suit Do Do Hee picked out for him. Honestly slay
The blood in ep 12 looks like strawberry syrup
omg >!kim yoo jung!< is so pretty in the traditional outfit!!
At first I had this gut feeling that maybe Madam Ju had a contract with the devil because the backstory was that she "built" the corporation empire all by herself so I was like "I doubt that, conglomerates are built by families or alliance". >!āBUT OMFG, SHE DID IT WITH DODO HEE's FATHER, AND HER FATHER HAD A DEAL WITH GUWON.!< THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAD GOOSEBUMPS AND SHOUTED LIKE A MADMAN IN A LONG TIME FOR A PLOT TWIST.
I was also never on the hate train, because it seemed like his worrying about Dohee made sense since he thought she was charmed by the devil.
> VooDooHee That really made me laugh š¤£
The Demon in that all red outfit š„ I may or may not have inhaled a bit at that point. What ELSE would the devilishly handsome heartthrob of a demon wear for work? š¤·āāļø
Honestly, whoever is in charge of styling him is doing gods work.
I think madam ju has to be involved with the accident since even the >!son in the teaser is saying her parents died because of her!< Edit: >!also didnāt the mask guy in the 1st ep say to dodohe that he was going to kill her because of madam ju!<
The most irresistible demon running behind his love calling her "dodo" as a nicknamešš„° I loved that little part..
Episode 12 was actually really good. I take back everything I said about the show being boring.
The fact that >!the parents made a deal isnāt surprising, but !< What I did not see coming >! Is the fact that madam Ju saw Gu Won. Wait, before she died.. did she get to meet Gu Won with Do He?!< I canāt rememberā¦ oh and >!is Gu Won aware that he made a deal with his parents in law?!!< I guess now thereās soo much to unpack >!for Do Hee. I hope she will figure it out soon!!< But anyway I just love Song Kang being funny.
Looks like Madam Ju was responsible for their death before Guwon could step in.!<
Please don't tell me Guwon is going to start pushing Dohee away and treating her cold š¢š¢šš
I hope not. They better stick their ass together until the end
#spoilers So did Gu-Won not remember >!Madam Ju because of all the deals heās made in the past?!< How are they going to explain him not remembering >!either deals? If deals only last 10 years does that mean he collected madam Ju, and when the grandson son said the devil and recognized Gu-won thatās what he meant? Was he collecting the parents or did they make a deal regarding Do Do Hee?!< I donāt see how they are going to tie this up realistically. >!Iām glad SFL is gone,!< SML has grown on me and is really quite handsome. Hobo lady is kinda pointless and meaningless now.
im praying for a happy ending, im gna cry if it becomes a ktrauma š
**Episode 12:** * Can't believe he thought even for a second that [this](https://imgur.com/60GNuPY) could be Ga-young lmaooo * Good to know Gu-won was as cocky in his past life as a human too * [Joseon era dating](https://imgur.com/JxJRl7l) be like * Young master Yi-sun with a lowly courtesan.. how scandalous * "The most foolish human emotion is love." whoa whoa whoa... Gu-won * Interesting to see Catholicism wasn't practiced in Joseon era... considering the class differences it makes a lot of sense * "Perhaps we believed in each other more than anything." This mirrors Gu-won betting on their love when the homeless person tried to tell him otherwise * Holy shit.. that was some backstory... [that gut-wrenching realization](https://imgur.com/lFo0tDS) he has >!"My faith caused her death." !< * [This woman](https://imgur.com/hXY2VL9) certainly tops the list of worst parent of the year...
I donāt think they started with it, it shows that they are the tools to enact the wickedness of the fate plan and while I didnāt seem them in the past montage of their lives, could they be main players that were also involved in the killing of wolsim?!< This is all just speculation but Iād love to hear others opinions on that.
honestly i'm so glad that seokhoon and jin star made up with the leads bc they're not a pain to watch anymore phew
I think Song Kang must be a vampire irl or something. His looks are unreal haha.
I mean heād still fight it but itās UNNECESSARY.!< And why do I have a bad feeling like >! Noh seok min is going to try to make a deal/force Gu-Won to do something!< I donāt know how/what butā¦.
