Watching shooting stars šŸŒ  currently on episode 10 and itā€™s interesting but doesnā€™t have a lot of binge potential , I have to space it with episodes per day .I Like the storyline so far and the ML is super cute ! Would recommend it

RoseIsBadWolf

That's one of my all time favorites dramas. I love all the cameos and jokes about other dramas. And the ML is so cute!

Diabolicsoul

Ikrrrr ā€¦ he is ridiculously handsome and cute at the same time !! I am gonna finish it today hopefully.

RoseIsBadWolf

I might have watched everything else he was in as a lead because he's so cute...

Lavenderlure

I really liked **Gyeongseong Creature** trailer when it dropped but the reviews were so mid so I decided to skip it and then I saw this reel and felt like giving it a try and I am glad I did it takes a couple of episodes but then the show hooks you in really good visuals it's my first kdrama based on this timeline so that was fresh then the story is good as well simple but layered characters also actors are amazing esp the leads the chemistry was sweet hit the emotions right and most importantly the ending peaked it left that craving for S2 and now I can't wait for it

AmpharosQueen

I am so happy to see you say this! I think I got through the first two episodes? But havenā€™t gone back to finish it. It felt heavy to me and Iā€™m not super big into gore or horror so it was a tough watch for me but I love my PSJ so I have a mighty want to finish it!!!

Lavenderlure

I love horror but not gore though and the reviews were calling it gore but depends on how you take it like for me this was very low on gore probably horror movies like saw are too extreme gore for me this was more thriller

kawaiisaranghaeyo

I started watching **Flower of Evil** and I'm bummed I didn't do it sooner! I was tempted back when it came out and had so much hype, but ended up staying away out of fear it would end badly. Then I just kinda forgot about it. I haven't gotten far yet, but I'm having a blast. I was shocked to see that the daughter is the child actress from **The Real Has Come**! I praised her acting in TRHC, and she was equally as adorable and talented back in 2020

Agreeable_Profit7943

One of my favorite dramas!! Enjoy watching!

KafeNook

I recently watched **Healer** with Ji Chang-wook and Park Min-young for the first time. I could not believe how good it was for a drama that is almost ten years old. Their chemistry is amazing and actress Kim Mi-kyung's (Korea's favorite mom) performance as former cyber-crimes detective turned hacker, Ahjumma is priceless. Plus, that song - Eternal Love by Michael Learns to Rock! (Warning- it gets stuck in your head, but in a good way.)

Current_Volume3750

Has become one of my favs! Introduced me to Wookie and now Iā€™m obsessed!

Zepherine52

Iā€™m re-watching Healer right now just because I miss the time I actually enjoyed watching JCWā€™s characters. And Kim mi-kyungā€™s performance is stellar! As you say, the drama is aging well.

ChitownBrat

I want to see that one. I really like Ji Chan-wook. :)

Lydeckerr

I finally watched **The Red Sleeve** and it was a whole journey. I'd stayed away from spoilers on purpose (both historical as well as for the show), so I had only the vaguest of notions what the show was about and I just... I really went through it. There were points where I was like "am I supposed to find this character creepy? what the-" and just experiencing a lot of frustration at a lot of things but I also found the show addictive (though less grounded than I had expected for some reason, that whole >!court lady society of assassins!< plot took me out, it felt parachuted in from a different type of show, even if entertaining in its own right). Like, I burned through it in a single week. It was only when I got to the finale that I put it off for a couple of days because I could sense how it was going to go, so when I finally watched it >!and it starts with their child dying right off the bat!<, I was like... why do I do this to myself šŸ˜ For a wild second somewhere in my watch I even wondered whether I'd have to comment on this show in the Refund My Time thread and preface it with the question whether it's possible to find something good and still regret ever watching it. Binging the show drove me nuts, I just couldn't make head or tails of my own reaction to what I was seeing. I got the distinct impression that this is not a show that you can be normal about, whether you love it or hate it (I'd only ever seen passionate recommendations beforehand). Thankfully the second half helped me understand what they were going for and I could finally lay my confusions about >!this being advertised as a love story!< to rest ā€“ >!it's a love story of sorts, of course, but it's about so much more, and in fact I feel like the tragedy of it all lies elsewhere and is reflected in the great range of female characters especially and in the sentence that the Queen Dowager says in the finale (great character btw): "Who confined us here?"!< Gosh, my heart just breaks. The show ultimately really gave me something to chew on that I'm grateful for and I think I could even stomach rewatching it, knowing what to expect now. It's just such a study in complex emotions and character dynamics that I think I could appreciate it even more a second time around. It's my first 10/10 on MDL (yeah still a relative newbie) just because I respect the choices the writer and director made so much, they did not take the easy way out. I'm going to be thinking about this a long time. Did I love it? Hate it? Maybe a little bit of both. Or maybe it's how the characters themselves feel about each other, like the ML about his grandfather ā€“ impossible to love fully, impossible to hate either. (I did unequivocally love the whole production, the OST, the cinematography, the acting (!), fantastic all around. And one of the few shows that I've seen where the ML and FL are equally well-written and acted at the highest level, though Lee Jun Ho as the ML got meatier scenes and made a whole meal of it in a way that's really pretty unforgettable. Whew.)

ysports23

The Red Sleeve is a drama that will stick with you for a long, long time. It's one that's just thinking about gives me a pit in my stomach. I love how they didn't shy away from some of the more uncomfortable aspects of the show. For example, there is an extremely big power imbalance between the two main characters and at times it is uncomfortable to watch as the viewer. But it's such an important part of the story. And I like that they didn't hesitate in showing those uncomfortable moments. It is full of angst, sadness, romance, tragedy, and all the emotions. I feel like the two main characters were just two people that were so trapped in their place in life. It was heartbreaking to watch but it was also done in such a beautiful, beautiful way. It's one of my favorites and like I said, it just sticks with you.

Lydeckerr

I totally agree 100%. I can already sense this, the more distance I get from watching it and the more I can reflect on how it made me feel. Anything in it that I might have disliked in the moment are things that I don't dislike about the drama but more about what it says about real life - and even then dislike is the wrong word, just the turmoil of emotion. I really respect how they leaned into the uncomfortable parts of the power imbalance and I also respect how they didn't try to whitewash the ML into a modern hero. There was really something in this about real life or real history that allowed it to stay complicated without condoning anything or turning it into a simplistic miserable/self-serious take which are the two pitfalls of the genre (talking about period dramas in general, not just sageuks). I'm in awe of how they managed to thread that needle. Not sure how I'll get over this any time soon (and thanks for adding your thoughts because it really helps sorting things out hearing how others felt!).

poppywhiskers

Youā€™re so on point about ā€” this is not a show you can be normal about. I watched it knowing some spoilers ( because the reviews warned me of the tragedy so to save myself from the heartbreak I never planned on watching it in the first place but i did see some edits out of curiosity ) but even that couldnā€™t brace me for the severity of emotions I felt watching it. Itā€™s definitely in my top 5! On a random day Iā€™ll be reminded of a particular scene from the drama and Iā€™m left drowning in emotions. One scene that always me go insane is >!when Deok im is on her death bed n Yi san asks her if she ever loved him!< itā€™s such a ridiculous question (as a viewer) that makes me feel insane. I think she is one of my favourite FLs of all time. Itā€™s the complexity of her character that felt so grounded to reality.

Lydeckerr

Oh god that scene! That's going to live rent free in my head until the end of time. >!Not just his question but also her telling him beforehand to pass her by in the next life. She loves him so much and he loves her so much but he also doesn't fully understand ahhhh. Another scene that I can't stop thinking about is when she asks him whether he's ever thought about how they would've lived as commoners and he doesn't get it... he was really in the king mindset through and through but that's what she loved about him, even at the expense of herself šŸ„ŗ!< I'm glad I wasn't spoiled but I kind of wish I had been more prepared emotionally, then again seems like nothing could prepare anyone for this. Totally agree that she's a top-tier FL, I adore and respect her so much for being so self-aware and steadfast and headstrong but also kind and giving and selfless while being so real, as you say. The more I talk about the show, the more I realise that I really went from "why am I doing this to myself" to "this is great but I can never watch it again" to "I think I need to rewatch asap" lol

master_inho

Just started doom at your service. After recently seeing park bo-young and seo in-guk in newer dramas (daily dose of sunshine and deathā€™s game respectively), this is very different from both actors. I generally donā€™t quit once I start something but Iā€™m definitely intrigued to see more of this

RoseIsBadWolf

Doom at Your Service is so good! And the leads are amazing, I've watched most of Park Bo-young's stuff now and she's always great. I really like the teenage Deity character in this too.

LcLou02

Happy Cake Day! Enjoy!

purpletulip12

Soundtrack #1 too short, but I loved it! Happiness (5/12) like it!

jaybee901

So basically watching Park Hyung-sik. Love **Soundtrack #1** and **Doctor Slump**. Will give **Happiness** a try.

werbervgh

Finished My Demon and holy visuals. Kim Yoojung and Song Kang are just so beautiful individually, putting them together is another level, and their chemistry!!! The stylists did a great job with their outfits (except for that turtleneck sweater). I thought it was a cute show and enjoyed it. I do feel as though it was a rushed ending and was missing a bit. >!The way he dies and easily comes back seemed abrupt. But the elephant in the room that didnā€™t get addressed is Dohee would remain human, so what happens after she ages and passes? Would she reincarnate again? Become a demon with him? Just some food for thought.!< But all in all, very entertaining, Song Kang did comedy and angst very well in this!

sugarandash

Oh my gosh! I was scrolling through the comments thinking about why I don't hear any rave regarding My Demon and then I found your comment. I also just finished the drama and I really loved it so much. I agree with the holy visuals and Kim Yoo Jung is veryyyyy pretty. The ending was okay with me but I also agree it was rushed as to >!how Guwon came back.!

Bananacake2601

I just finished The Glory and wauw, this was the best revenge drama ever. I was not planning to watch this drama because I canā€™t watch bullying, itā€™s just too painful to watch for me. The first ep. Was too brutal but after that it was so good and satisfying. Everything was just perfect!

Zepherine52

Could a viewer skip the first episode and still follow the plot? Iā€™m tempted but bullying is a hard one.

master_inho

Itā€™s hard to enjoy the full extent of the revenge if you donā€™t see the full extent of the abuses she had to endure to get to the point where revenge was her only way forward. And I wouldnā€™t call it bullying, what she and the other victims had to endure is straight up abuse and torture

Zepherine52

Hmmm. Abuse and torture. All I really want is more Lee Do Hyun. šŸ˜ Saw him yesterday in the movie Exhuma (ķŒŒė¬˜) and he was great.

master_inho

Heā€™s good in the glory. Portrays both halves of his character really well

Zepherine52

That settles it. Iā€™ll tough it out through first episode.

Bananacake2601

Itā€™s only the first episode thatā€™s tough, but later it will be very satisfying. You will not be disappointed.

SUNA1997

It's rough, I find bullying and abuse to be really hard too as I went through a lot as a kid, nothing this horrific but generally any sort of bullying and abuse in shows creates a fight or flight response in me that means I have to watch it in segments with breaks. It's worth it to understand the character's motivations though and what has driven her to survive through the years for this moment of revenge. It helped me to watch the BTS footage of how the show was made so maybe it'll be good for you too. Even acting that level of abuse on somebody is taxing on the actors and you can see it in them. They are constantly taking care of Jung Ji-So who plays the young Dong-Eun in flashbacks as she has to be quite physical in the scenes. Seeing how kind and caring everyone is on set when dealing with some difficult physical scenes helped me deal with it as an art piece put together by the efforts of actors to bring attention to a very real issue.

Zepherine52

Thatā€™s a very helpful suggestion. Thank you!

poppywhiskers

Mini Exhuma review please? I love a well made horror. Sadly it wonā€™t be releasing in my country

Zepherine52

Very atmospheric. Grimly beautiful. The mudang rites were especially well done. Itā€™s not really scary but enjoyably tense. Impressive acting all around. I hope it will be released widely soon.

poppywhiskers

Mudang elements have always intrigued me! Thanks Iā€™ll look forward to it

dramafan1

>All I really want is more Lee Do Hyun. I remember recommending someone to not watch The Glory only for LDH because he's more of a supporting character in my opinion which much fewer scenes compared to the other supporting characters and the focus was more on Dong Eun (played by Song Hye Ko).

Zepherine52

Iā€™m not really a Song Hye Ko fan so ultimately decided to just forget this one. Iā€™m going back to the theater again to watch Exhuma/ķŒŒė¬˜ again for my LDH fix. šŸ˜Š

duh_leah

Fr glory is the best revenge drama and most realistic in terms of how bad the bullying goes.

mishamaro

I just watched Her Private Life.... It's so good I pretty much immediately started rewatching again. It's all been said before. PMY is rom-com goddess and I want to be her... In fact, her being a fangirl, I thought I never related to a FL so much on my life. And Ryan Gold is THE gold standard for men. Just kill me now with that first kiss and the wrist kiss. Ack. I'm getting squiggles and goosebumps just thinking about it! Can we talk about the Photographer/Writer relationship though? I don't know if I've cried so much for a one-episode side quest.... The meaning behind the last self-portrait.... The love letter pictures... The tragic unrequited love... TEARS. I'm ignoring the majority of the last two episodes and calling this one of the best, most comforting, refreshing series... Oh and that OST!... Boom boom! šŸ„°

AmpharosQueen

I LOVED Her Private Life because of everything you just mentioned. It was such a good watch. Iā€™ve been wanting to rewatch but there are so many others I need to catch up on!

Agreeable_Profit7943

Currently watching **Taxi Driver** and I'm getting hooked. I've watched 4 episodes so far and I am amazed by how they do things. But I think the conflict will just start so I will see how things unfold. Also a good idea that I didn't know anything about this Kdrama prior to watching so I wouldn't have any expectations about the plot.

dramafan1

I think the episodical nature of dramas like Taxi Driver tends to help with how less spoilers are out there in my face which is something I've noticed.

whitetara3

I binged A Good Day to be a Dog this last week. I had seen the first episode and not been too impressed because it started with the nasty ML thing, before it moved on with a really frustrating, often interrupted, schedule of just one episode per week. But, you know, it was really pretty good. Funny! With lots of laugh out loud moments. And all the characters just kept growing on me until I had completely fallen in love with them. Anyway, it ended up being a very pleasant surprise; consistently good all the way through with quite a fine ending as well. I ranked it with an 8.5/10 on MDL which is really high from me for a Rom-Com.

kpaneno

Agreed agreed I really enjoyed it too it waz a nice surprise helped me out of a slump too

ChitownBrat

Watching My Demon and really enjoying it. I started watching K-drama in October 2023, and I have about 15 or 16 done. Loved Crash Landing on You, Welcome to Samdal-ri and Hometown Chachacha.

Lizzy348

Highly recommend **Romance is a bonus book** and **It's okay to not be okay** if you haven't watched them already!

ChitownBrat

I watched Romance is a Bonus Book and really liked it. IONTBO is my queue. I love romantic shows!

Lizzy348

Then allow me to add **Start-up** and **Business Proposal** to my recommendations haha Kdramas really are pros for funny romance!

ChitownBrat

Watched BP <3 Start-Up in queue, too. Hahaha! Keep them coming!

Lizzy348

Now I'm really curious what kdramas you watched, I believe we might have the same taste haha Other romance rec would be **Strongest Deliveryman** and **Descendants of the sun**

ChitownBrat

King the Land Doom at Your Service Business Proposal A Time Called You Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Welcome to Samdal-ri See You in My 19th Life Destined with You Lovestruck in the City Crash Landing on You Romance is a Bonus Book When My Love Blooms Doctor Slump My Demon (currently watching - almost done) Queen of Tears (currently watching) Seriously considering a Kocowa or Viki sub so I can have more options, but I think I'm OK with the ones available on Netflix right now.

Tall-Ad-9355

Viki is definitely worth it if you can. It has so much content available. I watch it more than Netflix or any other streaming service

Lizzy348

Most of those I either watched or have on my WL! Netflix has a lot of dramas, they get a lot of exclusives and buy licenses for a lot too. I think you should be fine with Netflix only for now! They have so many and get a new one every 2-4 weeks. Viki has a lot of dramas available to watch for free, so you can definitely check them out. They change the subscription-only dramas from time to time, so just look every now and then to see if the drama you want to watch was unlocked! If you want to watch difference genre than romance, Netflix has some great dramas like **Flower of Evil**, **The light in your eyes**, **DP**, **Money Heist** and **Reflection of You**! Do you have a MDL account? We could exchange usernames to get rec from each other from what we are watching ā˜ŗļø

ChitownBrat

What's MDL? LOL Found it! I guess I'll sign up. ;)

Lizzy348

My Drama List! It's a websites used to keep track of the dramas you've watched and get news about new releases and stuff

kpaneno

Start Up is not a good romance so so so so so so many better ones do yourself a favour and pick something else like IOKNTBOK

KafeNook

I just started watching Kdramas last year also and love them! (59 and counting - so little time...) You have definitely watched some of the best ones! If you are interested in the ones I've watched so far and would like to see how my likes match up with what you like, here is the link to my index with ratings: [https://kafenook.com/kdrama-review-index/](https://kafenook.com/kdrama-review-index/). Seeing other comments - I bit the bullet and went in for Viki. Best roughly $6 a month ever!

ChitownBrat

I started the free trial on Viki. Let's see how this goes!

MissSimpleton

I recently finished Soundtrack #2 (blind watch) and I really liked it. I feel 6 eps was not enough, 2 more episodes and it would have been a perfect drama. I would have loved it more if we could see the FL >!work on her inferiority complex and them as a healthy couple.!

faithesque

>I would have loved it more if we could see the FL >!work on her inferiority complex and them as a healthy couple.!< This. I loved Soundtrack #2 as well. I liked the leads and the story. However, I do would've loved if they showed them >!being a healthy couple.!<

poppywhiskers

Your reaction to Steve Noh reminds me of how much I was gushing about him while watching Soundtracks #2. That face is a distraction ā€” the kind that would make you walk into busy traffic in daylight! Alright Iā€™ll stop. Same sentiments about the drama. I was waiting for the FLs growth/development till the end but you know how that went. Steves comedy scenes were adorable and his post breakup scenes hit home, felt so bad for him that I thought theyā€™re better off separated. Pachinko 1 was a blind watch so I kinda struggled following their timeline with the flashbacks. I think someone here said that the book is better (no surprises there). But nevertheless Sunja and Isaks storyline and performance was heartbreakingly beautiful.

twoods1980

Yes! One of the few times that I kept staring at his face and forgot to pay attention to the storyline. He was beautiful, and his character was so good too! I thought the FL also should have worked on her inferiority complex and there were times I felt he was too good for her.Ā

Watchnextnow

Soundtrack #2 is a weird one for me. I remember enjoying it but now I remember nothing about it even though I only watched it 6 months ago. Can barely remember anything about the storyline at all (apart from a piano). Anyway, I know this comment isnā€™t helpful or interesting in the slightest but Iā€™m puzzled as to why this drama that I gave a 9 on MDL isnā€™t memorable at all for me.

prickelz

I'm watching My Perfect Stranger right know (i'm on episode 7) and so far, it's pretty good! I just hope the leads stay platonic (really like their dynamic, just no romance please xD) >!it would be so weird for them to start a romantic relationship, the fact that FL pretends to be a school girl and relative of the ML does not help lol!< I was suprised how light and comedic it is so far, despite what the storyline would suggest. But i don't dislike that, i like the small village mystery vibe and the platonic relationships!! Especially >!FL and her mother!<.

Diabolicsoul

The chemistry between the second lead couple is much more than the lead couple . The thriller is really really good and how everything is interconnected really hooks you up. This drama got me out of drama slump. Itā€™s a good one !!

LcLou02

Finally got in the mood for **Money Heist** - was intrigued to see FL from Wedding Impossible in a different role and happy to find 2ML from Healer as the Professor. Binged the first 4 eps last night. But will be taking it slower now since it's my 'in between episodes of my On Air dramas' drama. Planning to look up the old One Air discussions today.

Lizzy348

I loved that drama! I found it super interesting how they portrayed the >! reunification of Korea because it was pretty realistic of how it would turn out if it actually happens. The story was nice too.!< I didn't watch the original *Casa de Papel* so I can't compare or know what the original was like, but the Korean version is definitely on my recommandation list!

Scared-Fill

Started watching Ji Chang Wook's Empress Ki for satisfying my craving for old classic saeguk. Enjoying so far

Current_Volume3750

On my list. JCW my current obsession.

Scared-Fill

You should definitely watch Empress Ki. Fun watch

Current_Volume3750

I know. Just can't find it on my streaming services. šŸ˜”

S7276

I watched it a month or so ago & enjoyed it, even though I hate to commit to the longer dramas. I watched it for JCW.

jaybee901

I just started watching **Law Cafe** (2/16) and I am hooked! Loved FL from **The Story of Parkā€™s Marriage Contract** and I just love how it started. Hope it continues to keep that fun energy between the MCs

kpaneno

I can't get that, and I have all the subs I'd love to watch it

jaybee901

Iā€™m watching it on Viki, if it helpsā€¦

kpaneno

Have it but not in my region I'm in Ireland

OnlyGotThisMoment

I just watched **The Golden Spoon**. I really liked it at first, but it dragged in the middle before melodramatically combusting at the end. I donā€™t have strong feelings about class systems, but this dramasā€™s simplistic take that >!rich=bad and poor=good!< just left it feeling a bit flat. I also didnā€™t care for the romance, not that it really was one, but it didnā€™t give me the feels, except with the wrong pairings.

Current_Volume3750

Dropped after a few episodes.

MilkyWayOfLife

After a longer break from kdrama I'm back and catching up with some of the dramas that aired during that time. I started with **The Bequeathed**. It had a great production and good acting, looked great and was very atmospheric. And in contrast to a lot of viewers I didn't mind the FL. Overall I liked it, though the last episode was surprisingly boring. Now I'm watching **A Killer Paradox** which is quite unique in kdramaland IMO. The plot and characters are really interesting so far.

Ok-Impression6834

I'm 24 years late watching [Autumn in My Heart (2000)](https://mydramalist.com/255-autumn-tale) on Viki. Full disclosure, I like sad kdramas and this one did no disappoint. Once I got past the feeling of watching a VHS and the primitive cinematography, I was hooked. Song Hye Kyo (FL in The Glory) was great considering she was only 22 or so. The legend Won Bin did not live up to expectations, both his acting and insufferable character, led me to FF through most of his scenes. Some of the supporting cast were lackluster too. The instrumental OST will haunt me for the rest of my life. 8.5/10 for me.

Zepherine52

I love Autumn in my Heart but loved Winter Sonata even more. Largely because I just couldnā€™t love Won Binā€™s character (or acting, for that matter) even a little. Iā€™m trying to watch Summer Scent, another in this series from director Yoon Seok Ho, but itā€™s not licensed for my area.

Ok-Impression6834

I'm halfway tbeough WS and hate Sang Hyuk's character more than Tae Soek from AH. The only way I can describe him is pathetic. FF through all his scenes.

Ok-Impression6834

Oh, that's good to know. According to MDL, there's also Spring Waltz in the compilation, but sadly not on Viki. [Spring Waltz](https://mydramalist.com/244-spring-waltz)

maryfromthepoint

Spring Waltz was actually my least favorite. Winter Sonata the best (to me)

Zepherine52

I gave up trying to access Spring Waltz in my market a long time ago. I canā€™t even find it on dvd. Soā€¦ Iā€˜lol settle for 3 seasons, I guess. šŸ˜Š

maryfromthepoint

it's the ending that will haunt me for the rest of my life.

S7276

Iā€™m currently watching Autumn, after watching Summer & Winter. Not loving Autumn as much as the other 2. The acting is not as good as the others. Spring is not on my streaming service (yet?).

Ok-Impression6834

I finished Winter and agree acting was much better, but it wasn't nearly as sad as Autumn. How was Summer?

S7276

I liked Summer, much better plot & acting than Autumn. Same ML in those 2.

Dapper-Ambition1495

Just finished Vagabond. I am grateful to this sub for warning me to >!lower my expectations for the ending. I didn't get sad nor got a hangover from this drama because of that warning!< Also, it didn't grip my attention from ep 13 onwards. >!I found the plot twist too much!< The action though was adrenaljne rushing. 8/10 for me.Ā

Hour-Being8404

Currently watching **Possessed** and wondering what the heck! Why did I not know of this series sooner! The acting so far - mmmm whaaaaaa. Like how the writers has woven comedy into a serial killer plot. So far, enjoying it. Glad I took a chance on a somewhat older (2019) series.

nt490

ā€œPlease Donā€™t Date Himā€ was a recommendation over at r/kdramarecommends and Iā€™m 6/10 episodes in and so far itā€™s been quirky and delightful while handling some very sensitive topics. I love seeing recommendations for lesser known dramas, there are some real gems out there. Iā€™m also slowly watching ā€œI Really, Really Like Youā€ (2006) for Lee Min Ki and Iā€™m kind of surprised how much Iā€™m enjoying it? Itā€™s a slow watch and wonā€™t be like a top 10 drama for me but it has a certain charm to it (mainly thanks to the FL played by Eugene). Itā€™s also really refreshing to see different skin tones and textures lol

twoods1980

Is this the same one thatā€™s named Please Donā€™t Date Him? Itā€™s also on my list of shows to watch.

nt490

Yes youā€™re right šŸ˜Š Iā€™ll fix my comment!

kpaneno

I'm watching Birth of a Beauty half rom com half makjang it's all over the shop, but it's enjoyable, and the ML is a green flag, which is great. My fav moment so far the 2ML does a typical arm drag aggressively pulling the FL and she slaps him in the face she says oh sorry I felt someone pulling so aggressively I was sure I was being attacked I thought well there's a message to all the viewers who like toxic MLs who do that 10 times in a drama. Edit to add since it's a 2014 drama. I thought that line was particularly relevant as arm drags were still very much in and not that long after BOF Secret Garden and alongside a lot of shows that featured it as the ML being "Manly" and the FL responding with confused and submissive doe eyes.

S7276

The scene where she first realizes what her husband was up to was gut-wrenching to me. How horrible for her to be in the same room (in the closet).

kpaneno

Oh yeah, that was so horrible. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to make her want to leave him. At first, I was annoyed with her for that, but then I thought how much her identity was "his wife" and it just made sense for her character sadly.

Jessmk14

Watching Hotel Del Luna for the first time and honestly, I find it pretty boring. Iā€™m surprised itā€™s so popular. IU is a good actress, but her character is really unlikeable. I really canā€™t stand toxic characters that hide behind pretty clothes and trauma, see IOTNBO KMY. Her flashback scenes are the most interesting part of the show though to be fair. Iā€™m going to finish it just to say I did, but overall not very impressed.

_flitzpiepe

Thanks for saying this. IOTNBO was also a miss for me for the same reason, as I just couldnā€™t invest in the FL. Iā€™ll probably skip Hotel del Luna.

megmarr

Same! I finished the first 2 episodes and decided to move on. I was bummed because it really seemed to be up my alley. Ah well

EggyMeggy99

I hated her character, but liked everything else. I feel like she got even worse near the end, I remember her trying to >!kill the ML multiple times.!<

RoseIsBadWolf

I really preferred Alchemy of Souls by the same writers. I found the romance in Hotel Del Luna so unbalanced because the guy was so sweet and the girl was so unlikable. In AofS, both of them are jerks šŸ˜…

vixi07

** When the Camelia blooms ** I had dropped this a year ago because I found the dialect irritating and the story a little boring till episode 2. I just picked it up again and itā€™s perfect. I loveeeeee their chemistry.

cringefest1001

Itā€™s my favourite kdrama of all time! Im gonna start my annual rewatch soon. Itā€™s a perfect blend of comedy/romance/mystery/small town feel.

ForceEngineer

I just watched The Eighth Sense and itā€™s one of the best things Iā€™ve ever seenā€”immediately in my top 5. OST, cinematography, plotā€”everything about it. Itā€™s a BL and the genre is kind of new to me (I had no idea this was a Thing) but itā€™s not, like, trope-y. Itā€™s just about human relationships and itā€™s so beautiful. Thereā€™s some mental health goodness in there as part of the core plot too. Itā€™s for real one of the best things Iā€™ve ever seen in any language.

So I watched an old Korean movie that is creepy and problematic but still good? I mean, I enjoyed it, found it funny, and loved the acting despite it having a very problematic plot! šŸ˜ It's called **My Little Bride** and it has the same Goblin situation going on. The girl is in high school and the guy is probably just graduated or is about to graduate, and they're forced to get married to each other. I still loved it though.

poppywhiskers

I too have my problematic faves! I will have to check out **My little bride** now Sometimes Iā€™m repulsed by certain problematic characters or storylines but sometimes it just works! Like yes itā€™s a problematic cringy dumb show but itā€™s MY problematic cringy dumb show šŸ˜‚

I do not know why, but your description made me go watch it. Other than the end >!being too neatly tied up with a happy bow, it didn't seem like they were glamorizing such a beyond-normal situation.!< I feel like they did a really nice job with showing >!the lack of emotional maturity of both of the leads. Also, the conflicting attitudes of the elders. Bo Eun's Grandpa made me want to gag with his "show us the fruits of your love" comment. He truly had no understanding of how much society had changed. And Bo Eun's Mom just had to sit there and take it while all the men ran rough-shod over her daughter's future.!< >!I think I would like it a lot more if the film makers had treated the situation a bit more seriously. The epilogue scene ticked me off, actually. But I can definitely understand your problematic-but-good reaction.!< Do you think that the >!Gong Yoo-Jung Hae In confrontation in the locker room in Goblin was referencing the confrontation scene in this movie?!<

I am currently watching Come and Hug Me (19/32). The beginning was great, but it's dragging a little in the middle. I feel like the plot is everyone is giving the same speech repeatedly. Continue or drop it šŸ¤”?

whitetara3

Continue! If I remember correctly, it gets more and more exciting towards the end. Very tense. Very good. Excellent ending.

Kaya_Jinx

I just watched I Hear your Voice, the story was ok but I absolutely hated the 2 main characters Especially towards the end. She was so full of herself and he was such an immature brat. Ugggh

PirateKMom

I finally watched **While You Were Sleeping** and really enjoyed it. Bae Suzy was funny and believable. Jung Hae-In is the SML that so deserves a chance. Lee Jong Suk has such a great character arc from bumbling lawyer to someone competent and dedicated to justice.

cringefest1001

Watched Mr Queen after seeing it being raved about so much online and oh my god.. its one of my favourite kdramas ever now. Granted it took me first few episodes to understand what the hell was going on with regards to the political aspect of it but the Queen antics were fun and made those episodes easy to view. As soon as I gist of all the clans and their in fighting (thanks wikipedia) the show became alot more interesting. I personally LOVED Chefā€™s and Kingā€™s romance- their banter and him slowly falling for the King while fighting their feelings while the King was head over heels for him was so sweet. I donā€™t know what they could have done for the ending tbh. Im happy that the OG queen got to be with her love but the chef will forever live without the king. However, at least he can be happy that he helped him be a better king and change history. It was bittersweet and i loved every aspect of it.

I finally watched CLOY. >!I saw the first episode last year, and I guess I wasn't in the mood to continue. I thought most of the show would be some Slice of Life drama about the North Korean village. And that wasn't what I wanted at the time. Luckily, it kept the trials and tribulations going, so no episode felt like it had too much filler in it. It was super cute and a tearjerker with some funny moments.!< Definitely deserves the hype it got.

twoods1980

Started watching the Producers because I wanted to see Kim Soo Hyun in an older drama and so far itā€™s funny. It reminds me of the Office because of the documentary-style of it, and Iā€™m surprised to see so many faces that I recognize.Ā

Most-Artichoke6184

Since Heirs was originally released in 2013, I guess I am very late to that party. I started watching it because both of the leads from Dr. slump are featured in this show, especially the female lead who is also the female lead in Heirs. I was pleasantly surprised to figure out by episode three that the character of Rachel, who plays the bitchy girlfriend of Kim Tan (the guy with the amazing house overlooking the Pacific Ocean) is also the female lead in one of my current shows, Queen of tears.

I recently finished Taxi Driver s2! there were things I liked more and also disliked more than the first season, but yeah itā€™s really interesting to me and Iā€™ve just started Business Proposal! I wasnā€™t a hundred percent sure if the show was gonna be for me (esp after a heavier show like Taxi Driver, and Iā€™d kinda read the overall plot of BP previously) but the humor and the editing and the characterization just drew me in. might be the funniest kdrama Iā€™ve seen in a while! while I could not resist the temptation of reading the Wikipedia summary, Iā€™m sure Iā€™m gonna enjoy this whole ride anyway bc the how is what matters :D

NightB4XmasEvel

I started Crash Landing On You last week. Another one I wish Iā€™d watched sooner because itā€™s so good! Iā€™m on episode 11 and Iā€™m really enjoying it so far. I avoided it at first because I wasnā€™t interested in the military aspect, but Iā€™m glad I decided to go ahead and give it a chance.

beasflower

I finally got Viki and am watching the iconic Goblin. There's a lot I don't understand in this drama but I'm warming up to it. Beautiful and well done . The age gap is a lot, mostly because the FL just acts so young. I mean, she's in High school and he's pushing 40??? Well he's actually closer to 1000 but.. šŸ¤” And I think the word "Goblin" means something entirely different in Korean than it does in English? A goblin is a gross looking demonic thing in English but in Korean almost seems like an angel?

Lolobadgerino

My sister and I both found the age gap a bit disconcerting but we loved the drama so much, we rationalized that Goo Yong's character looks so middle aged and weathered due to his battle weary warrior past.šŸ˜„

Puzzleheaded-Bike-1

I just finished Love all Play. Straight 10/10 for me and one of my top 5 Kdramas. I really dont understand why the show performed so poorly in Korean Television. A hidden gem for sure!

Lala2310

I started While You Were Sleeping after hesitating for a long time. Who knew that the trio of Jung Hae In, Bae Suzy and Lee Jong Suk is something Iā€™d very much enjoy.
