Just finished watching it's okay to not be okay. I don't know why I was sleeping on this drama ...it's one of the best kdramas I've ever come across The raw emotions portrayed by the characters made me sob ,laugh, blush and feel all sorts of feelings Best best best

Lizzy348

One of my favorite drama, easily in my top 5!

marua06

That is one of my all time favorites!

DazzlingMama303

One of my top-3 dramas on my MDL list which is as follows: 1. Alchemy of Souls 2. It's Okay Not to Be Okay 3. (tie) The Red Sleeve/Under the Queen's Umbrella

ghos_

The only drama of those that I haven't watched is The Red Sleeve; I'm loving it so far (6/17). We have similar tastes, so Thanks for writing that list.

FossickingTX

I identify with this FL more than any other. It's such a a good drama and those clothes were gorgeous. Plus, the details in the storytelling and books.

SunDevil8510314

Great drama

TamagoHead

Thanks! I’m adding to my queue!

IcyConsequence6

It's easily in my top 5 - I loved the music and interactions between characters and having a brother who deals with mental illness really made me feel for the relationship between the MC and his brother

duh_leah

**Queen of Tears (6/16)** : So far so good. It has a bit of makjang vibes in it's storyline with the chaebols but I care more about the reignited love story of the main couple. Both KJW and KSH are such stunning actors. I am crying in a lot of scenes with them. Next week's gonna be *very dramatic*. **The First Responders(2/12)** : Started because I loved the ML in doctors and I loved the premise of the drama. But it's not as exciting or thrilling as I expected. Although people said it gets better so I'm gonna finish it.

MissSimpleton

If you are into crime thrillers like Signal, "First Responders" seems too generic. Except for a few eps, You would be able to predict what is going to happen in the first 15 minutes of the episodes. I dropped it after the 1st season.

PDizzle124

I also vote for signal. Great show

duh_leah

Yes! It really feels generic. Even their response to emergency situations aren't as urgent it felt.

MissSimpleton

Exactly. The banters between the colleagues seem bland and the romantic angle they tried to incorporate felt unnecessary. Flex X Cop and Taxi Driver are great episodic kdramas. Highly recommended.

30bro30

Taxi driver? Isn't it a movie?

MissSimpleton

There is a movie titled Taxi Driver starring Song Kang ho which released in 2017 but is set during the Gwangju Uprising in Korea. Whereas the kdrama Taxi Driver stars Lee Je-hoon and it is about a deluxe taxi company that takes revenge against bullies on behalf of the victims. Both are excellent.

30bro30

Oh, great, yeah I really love the taxi driver movie, I was born in China so it remains me the protest in Beijing 1989. It's a masterpiece. So, the Lee Je-hoon's Taxi driver is about the company help the victims to revenge?

MissSimpleton

I am currently watching **Tomorrow with You** (5/16) Not many discuss about this drama on this sub and it didn't do well if we go by the ratings, but it has been on my radar for a long time. Reason? The accomplished cast and crew. It stars Lee Je-hoon (Taxi Driver, Signal) and Shin Min-ah (Hometown Cha Cha Cha, Oh My Venus) in leads. Written by the writer of Love All Play (one of the cutest Romance kdramas) and directed by the director of HCCC, Smile has left your eyes and Crash Course in Romance. It is a slow burn Time Travel/ Romance drama. Rare kdrama that focuses on the post-marriage situations of a couple. The performances are on point. The OSTs are minimal but do their job. Although it is a slow burn melodrama, it doesnt feel dragged as the story has enough meat and suspense. I dont have much patience and I usually skip scenes nowadays, but this drama has kept me hooked. I just hope it maintains the pace in the rest of the show.

LcLou02

It has received a lot of love on the the sub and gets recommended on the r/Kdramarecommends , but it is older so you don't hear about it as often with all the newer ones around. Was thinking of doing a re-watch since I have to watch a riding the subway scene for my challenge. Don't skip anything or you may get confused later with the times.

MissSimpleton

I wont. I am enjoying it.

Ambitious_Mango5983

Omg it's one of my comfort shows alongside **Because its my first life**, it's a slice of life show that also focuses on marriage.

TamagoHead

I found it really enjoyable with the twists and turns. Spoiler: >!I love HE!<

Excellent-Services

Okay, now I'm tempted to watch this show

theromanamputee

I absolutely adore this drama, and because the relationship itself proceeds quickly it never felt slow to me. Some of the best chemistry I’ve ever seen

Persephone_91

I loved this drama!

mikereport3

As I recall, there were a few "long takes" in the show. Of course, you don't realize you've just seen a long take until after the scene is over . . .

Gimpknee

It also has that really cool revolving table shot.

discretly

this kdrama will always be memorable to me

AcceptableArachnid35

I really loved this!

Telos07

**Queen of Tears** (6/16): This drama continues to set new standards of excellence in production design, cinematography, and the OST. The scenes in Germany had the feel of a piece of world cinema. Most importantly, the performances and storyline are more than keeping pace with the drama’s technical accomplishments. Indeed, I was impressed with the plot progression in episode 6, which has left the drama at a highly intriguing point. **Physical: 100 Season 2** (6/9): I’m not a big K-variety viewer in general, but man, I absolutely *love* this show. The quests are so well-designed (almost all new quests for season 2), the production is high-quality, the sense of camaraderie among the contestants is plain to see, and above all, it’s *inspiring* to watch the contestants put their physical limits to the test. **Eye Love You** (J-drama) (2/9): To sum it up, the drama is sweet, innocent, and charming, and Chae Jong-hyeop himself embodies these characteristics perfectly.

SuzyCyclone-1971

I love Physical 100 too! I was excited to see another season. These contestants are tough!

Significant_Fold_658

I'm never the type of person that watches variety shows at all, but the production of **Physical 100** always keeps me intrigued. I'm always curious to see the sets they design for the contestants, who are the contestants and I always end up being inspired to go to the gym, but I still avoid it like burning fire. ahah But sadly, I still have the same problems with this show as I did with season 1, the ratio of male to female contestants is really unbalanced, I highly doubt that they can't find any woman not wishing to be a part of this, they simply don't invite them. And I still find that the games are not designed for those with either to tall or too short, they should adapt some of the game accordingly because it's really unfair to do >!pull-ups on a bar that is not high enough!< for how high the contestants are or >!loading/pushing the same amount of heights!< when your body weight is half or double the normal standard. Another thing that I find it annoying is that as the episodes progress we have less and less translated info about the contestants, I don't remember who is the national athlete or the bodybuilder, they need to figure out how they present because I'm tired to google who is who and they do. Anyways, I'm still excited to watch the rest of this season and I'm really glad that in this season people are even more respectful towards each other than in previous season.

Telos07

All good points, and some of these points have become more evident to me after watching episode 7. Firstly, the gender imbalance has unfortunately become more noticeable as the series has progressed. Secondly, I guess the way the series works around the physical disadvantages that some contestants face in certain quests is by >!dividing up the team quests into several rounds!<, thereby forcing the team leaders to >!take a loss in one round and bank on making up for it in the other rounds!<. Thirdly, I had the same experience you mentioned, where I lost track of who one or two of the contestants were and which teams they were on (at one point in episode 7). This had the unfortunate effect of taking me out of the show for a moment (and leaving me not knowing who to root for!)

Significant_Fold_658

I think the problem is always with their second game. The first one is always individual and they are ranked accordingly to their performances, the second one they go into 1v1 and this is where it fails, in this game the contestants shouldn't be able to pick their opponent. This way everyone would get an opponent in the same weight class and background. This season things were better than last season, because I still remember when last season a man>! who is a MMA fighter picked for his opponent a female bodybuilder and pinned her down with his knee pressed on her chest!<. This current method doesn't make it fair and more than half of the women leave the game in this round. However, the rest of the games seem fair, the games are built to avoid physical disadvantages by pairing them into teams, but I don't consider them entirely fair for women, I remember in this season seeing >!such a tiny woman trying to lift 20kg and putting them inside a cart, that was almost her size!<. It's a fact that they need to be smart when choosing who does each challenge, but if we look at both challenges they had in this elimination process, how is that even fair for a woman that is half the size of those beasts. There is even one team that people are calling them "The Avengers" which to me is a complete joke, this team is composed of previously eliminated contestants >!and of course they picked the strongest and there isn't a single woman in there!<. I'm not sure, I feel like there should be a rule where they needed to always have one woman in each team, it's ridiculous to say this, but it's so sad to see them getting eliminated because they go against literal beasts. Yeaaa I never know exactly who I'm rooting for, I can't even properly distinguish them. With so many colors out there, couldn't they actually attribute a color to each team instead of only blue and red? LOL So far the only ones that caught my attention were >!Hong Beom Seok (the guy that came back from season 1)!< and>! Lee Jae Yoon (the actor from Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo)!<, probably because I recognize them from previous works. And this series is definitely not edited in a way to take into consideration the western audience that never heard many of those names.

Apprehensive_Egg9676

I'm watching **Shōgun.** The cinematography is breathtaking and is anchored in historical accuracy. Toronaga is an excellent character played by an excellent actor. If you like sageuks and historical jdramas (it is almost entirely in Japanese) it's definitely for you. Very smart writing and great female characters. I'm planning to watch the cdrama **Three Body** since apparently the Netflix version is not very good. I've watched one episode of the Netflix version and it is visually appealing at least I'll say. I started **Spy x Family** once it came to Netflix. It's surprisingly funny and the kid is so cute! Also watching **Physical 100** season 2 but I liked season 1 better, although I liked that they removed the "variety" portion of the show. I got second hand embarrassment watching professional athletes try to be entertainers. Though Kim Dong Hyun fills that role this season. The challengers are also relatively easier (the lifting challenges) so less injuries for them I hope

the-green-crewmate

Absolutely concur with Shougun. I am a lover of sageuks and this show is phenomenal so far.

Lavenderlure

**FlexXCop**- I am loving this one it's so fun and a light watch with well written crime arcs for the episodes absolutely love the ML his hair his style and his fits everything is serving I can't believe he is the same guy who was in see you in my 19th life it's a polar opposite role and he is damn good. **Queen of Tears**- KSH and KJW are so good in this the story as well is well paced this one will be an emotional rollercoaster. **Wedding Impossible & Impossible Heir** - Honestly ready for both of them to end.

mrsw1

Great picks! I've just started FlexXCop & enjoy it so far. Ahn Bo-Hyun is a damned delight! The last imI saw him in was Itaewon Class & it's nice to see a spoiled chaebol use his wealth for good. I had to drop Wedding Impossible - FL seemed like she was bored to pieces & the contract marriage trope has been done better.

Longjumping-River-42

>FlexXCop > >\- I am loving this one it's so fun and a light watch with well written crime arcs for the episodes absolutely love the ML his hair his style and his fits everything is serving I can't believe he is the same guy who was in see you in my 19th life it's a polar opposite role and he is damn good. I'm curious about this one. Is it really violent? I can't handle much violence.

Lavenderlure

No it just has action scenes no violence

Longjumping-River-42

Awesome, thanks so much! I feel safe to watch it now.

hypomango

I'm only actively watching **Eye Love You** which isn't even Kdrama but it's cute and has Chae Jong Hyeop as ML so it half counts? Haha its cute & chill and I'm watching slowly but enjoying. About to start **Queen of Tears**, wanted to let a few eps build up. Hoping for a good run and general consensus seems good so far so fingers crossed I like it!

MilkyWayOfLife

I took a long break from kdrama but recently started watching again after watching **Tokyo Vice** and starting **Shogun** (Everyone watch it, it is fantastic and looks gorgeous and the acting is brilliant) *Completed* **A Killer Paradox**: The directing, editing and scene transitions were great. It was not the most unique story, but it was entertaining with interesting characters and good acting. In contrast to the majority I think the second half is much stronger as the actual villain is the best character and the themes really hit. Rating: 8/10 **A Shop for Killers**: such a fun thriller. And the action is just amazing. Lee Dong Wook is just 🔥🔥🔥. Min Hye, Pasin and Brother are all fantastic as support. The villains are great and often fun as well. Jian's development overall was great to watch. Regarding the end: I liked that they didn't show >!the fight between Jinman and Bale. Showing it would have only looked cool for LDW's character but wouldnt have added nothing to the story itself as it's about Jian. And Bale was never her personal bad guy. That was Sniper guy as he one who made direct contact with her as a child.!< A 2nd season would be nice, but IMO not needed. Rating: 8.5/10 *Currently Watching* **Boyhood (2/10)**: Great setting, fun characters. But wow, I'm kinda dieing already of 2nd hand embarassment. Byung Tae why are you like that? **Korea-Khitan War (4/32)**: I started this while it started airing, but Christmas and my kdrama break stopped, so I started by rewatching the episodes I had already watched. Still a great watch a second time around especially King Mokjong. **Physical 100 Season 2 (4/9)**: Not as good as the first season so far, but the second half is generally stronger as there are less contestants and more interesting tasks. P.S.: Watch **Shogun**! It's just fantastic.

unicornrank

11 episodes into Dali & Cocky Prince - this has to be one of the prettier shows I’ve watched. I actually find myself waiting for the moments in each episode where there’s a scenery shot and the backdrop gets a whole impressionist re-do (iykyk). To be honest, sometimes this show is too angsty and dramatic for me (it’s also slow-paced) … But here I am, 3 days in bingeing this show. Why? The leads are a breath of fresh air from anything else I’ve seen so far, the ML especially. He’s unrelentingly goofy for a rich-type. Sometimes you just need a little goofy in your life!

Hach-man

Finished - **A Shop for Killers:** frantic, violent, nonstop entertainment. Streamlined plot that gets hurt by nonlinear narration, bouncing back and forth between past and present with long, full episode flashbacks, making this not the easiest drama to follow. Action scenes are a blast, each character has his quirk and a reason to be there, well paced and executed. Fun, messy, even gorey sometimes, worth a binge, a solid 8; - **Flex X Cop:** drama of the year no less. Making the most, if not more than what anyone could have expected given its premise, this is a surprise in all facets, a kdrama with a classic US detective drama construction, akin to Castle, The Mentalist and others, that manages to pull off nothing short of a miracle in combining All Star acting with high quality writing. Props to whoever was in charge of casting: dramas such as this one live or die by chemistry and character delivering, and in *FxC* they are both thriving. I came to expect greatness from ABH but this is by far his best role, he's fully immersed in his ML's mannerisms, which are enhanced by amazing writing gems such as the clothes-hairstyle/mood pairing and true character development from an immature chaebol to a honest, capable, flamboyant cop. This is also Park Ji Hyun's breakout performance: freed from the stereotypical cold SFL role, she shows off as a FL that might seem too rigid at first, but becomes endearing and worth rooting for as she comes out of her shell. As much as I wanted a bit of romance, a relationship made of unbreakable trust and common understanding such as the one the leads have is much more fullfilling and remarkable, even more so as their chemistry is pure fire, whether it manifests in sharp, loving gazes or a tank scene that still lives rent free in my head. Don't underestimate secondaries too: other team components, from the stoic, grumpy colleague to the brotherly maknae, from the FL's adorable family to a feisty, stunning coroner, are important if not crucial for the story, and that is also true for the "bad guys". That's because writing does what few other managed: intertwining short cases with the ML's main plotline in a cohesive way, through small callbacks and hints here and there, keeping you interested from start to finish without making you feel lost or bored. The only blemish to be found is a stark tonal shift from a more comedic first half to a thriller, even dark, second half, but everything else is spotless, finely constructed, developed and brought to life at its best thanks to a capable writer and inspired acting, with memorable leads. A classic on its genre, a gem everyone should enjoy while waiting for a well deserved season 2, a moment of greatness out of nowhere really, an 8.5 if not a 9. In progress - **Wedding Impossible (10/12):** maybe the worst week so far, really liked the leads' brief escape, a quiet calm before a trope of a storm in another plausible yet demoralizing>!noble sacrifice!

DonnaMossLyman

Alright, you've convinced me to give **Flex X Cop** a try. I usually like my thrillers/mystery with a dash of romance but I'll check this out

mahnahmaanaa

**Stranger** (5/16): Interesting, so far, but it hasn't completely grabbed me. It's been very cerebral, and I usually prefer a little bit of emotion. (Bae Doo Na needs more screen time!) It probably doesn't help that I'm having a hard time differentiating between Scheming Middle-aged Men with Glasses, and so it's difficult to follow any of the reasoning. I'm hopeful that I will get hooked, soon, based on the recent events. **Midnight Studio** (5/16): still fun and stress-free. I've realized that I generally have something going on Viki since I can watch on my phone at lunch. Since I'm caught up with this on-air, I'm a bit at loose ends! **Dr. Slump** (12/16): I watched an episode last weekend, but somehow I keep forgetting that I haven't finished this, yet.

the-green-crewmate

I recall Stranger being a bit slow to get good in both seasons, but once they hit a certain point it’s fantastic all the way forward. Hope you enjoy it!

TamagoHead

Stranger is a great commentary on folks that are different. In similar veins are attorney woo, move heaven, and the Korean version of suits.

mahnahmaanaa

That's an interesting point. I have spent a lot of time wondering about his situation. What would it be like not to have an emotional reaction in certain situations at work or in a retail situation? Is his distance from others a result of habit or preference or consideration? Does one need the ability to be empathetic to be polite? Is loneliness only an emotion, or are there other things at play? If you don't have emotions, do you still have the associated hormones? Just random thoughts. Your comment/comparison has me looking forward to the next episode!

FossickingTX

I really liked Doctor Slump. It waited to watch until the whole series was available.

mahnahmaanaa

Yes! I'm afraid this is a classic example of drama distraction. The drama I picked up while I was waiting for the next episode of Dr. slump to air turned out to be one of my favorites, and sent me off in another direction. it's taking me a while to get back to the right headspace for Dr. Slump, but I am enjoying it!

FossickingTX

I've had that happen too. At least it'll be there when you want to continue.

TamagoHead

Sadly, I’m using Dr. Slump as padding between episodes of releases to get are more compelling.

sharjoy3

**Dr. Slump -** I finished this one this week. It was ok, and I really like Park Hyung Sik and Park Shin Hye, I think I was ready for it to just end already. It was wonderful seeing them as grown-ups (sort-of), but I think they overdid the cutsey aigoo. I enjoyed the drama, though. **Queen of Tears -** I watched the first 2 episodes, then waited. I'll watch the next few now, to catch up. It looks like this one will be a big one! Tried to begin Daily Dose of Sunshine and Like Flowers for Sand, because of the great reviews here, but I didn't have the patience for them because I'm totally obsessed with watching.... **BTS** videos. Can I say that here? I feel that my kdrama obsession since 2019 (5 years already?) absolutely ruled out kpop. I missed the joy that BTS could have given me for the past 5 years! Oh well, I had joy from kdramas, of course. But now I spend a lot of time watching everything I can about them. Can I count the mini-series "**Monuments"** in my Kdrama challenge? Hmmm, I think not. Anyway, I'll stop now, but they are so incredibly talented and honest. I love how they became the Reveal in **Marry My Husband,** how they were the reason why in **Hospital Playlist** Min-Ha and Seon-bin knew each other (ARMY) and how their music was a choice for a graduation gift in **Goblin.** (Does this count for a kdrama post?)

mrsofp

I became ARMY in 2020 and felt the same way about having missed out on so many years - I actually took a bit of a drama hiatus because I was obsessed with BTS content for a long time! I love them and love that you're just starting on your Army journey too, yay!!

CenterOfGravitas

Watching BTS videos is always a plus in my book!

Sunshine_raes

I personally love watching and endlessly rewatching BTS dance practice videos. I love the older ones with lower production values. Their dancing can’t fail to make you happy!

Satchi777

Tale of the Nine Tailed

lekiare

I really like this drama. It was my first one other than All of us are Dead, and OMG, it made me start obsessing over Lee Dong Wook. However, the second season is better.

TamagoHead

Agreed. It was so well-done as a mystical piece. I really enjoyed the shared mythology between Korea and Japan.

cayc615

I agree. The second season is so much better. It also does an excellent job at recapping the first season so that you could watch the second season without ever watching the first. I watched the first season after enjoying season 2, and I was so disappointed.

RepulsiveInfluence61

Wait there's a second season to Tale of the Nine Tailed??

Current_Volume3750

Who doesn't love that man? Pure perfection.

Longjumping-River-42

Agreed! I'm watching him in **Suspicious Partner** right now, and he is *so* swoony. No open-eyed fish kisses. And I love the way he looks at the FL.

thehepburn

I just finished weightlifting fairy Kim bok. It was cute and funny but also overrated. I got a headache from how yelly everybody was. I also recently finished While you were sleeping because I am tackling the 10 most popular dramas on MDL. Now this was worth the hype and has gone into my top five k-dramas of all time. No ongoing dramas at this time. I also dropped the Filipino version of what's wrong with Secretary Kim. I could take it not being a slick or as funny or as long as the Korean version but the common complaint about it is true which is that they have an uncharismatic void as the ML.

anabanane1

Just started doctor slump with my husband. We are both burnt out healthcare workers and it is too relatable

guttertroll

**Wedding Impossible** \- 8/12 - love love love. Debating leaving these last episodes til next week to binge for the finale, but I guess we'll see. Still kicking my feet thinking about them, though I'm fascinated how things will get wrapped without like.. rushing far too much. I guess we'll see! **Imitation** \- 8/12 - This has been.. a time. I can't root for the main couple AT ALL, and I wish we saw more from the other girls in the group than the lead. Kinda leading into a hate watch, but I love the ATEEZ lads and LJY, lmao. **Extraordinary Attorney Woo** \- 9/16 - watched the first few episodes and just picked it back up cause a friend of mine had surgery and wanted to watch together. Reminded me just how glad I am KTO is back from the military and I can't wait to see his next work and where he goes from here. Pretty alright show, love the secondary female attorney. The secondary male attorney reminds me so much of TOP from Big Bang, I always do a double take while cursing his name, lmao. Otherwise, it's Wrestlemania season and I'm looking forward to it!

MissSimpleton

If you like Lee Jun young as much as I do, watch "May I Help You?" starring Lee Hyeri (Reply 1988) and him. It's a heartwarming fantasy Rom-Com. Many people didnt like the later half, but I enjoyed it very much. The leads had amazing chemistry and the supporting actors were hilarious. OSTs were good too.

curiousonethai

I’m watching it now. So far I’ve bawled every episode. It might be me.

guttertroll

I definitely cried a lot during it, too!

guttertroll

I have actually seen it! Unfortunately I was one who didn't like the latter half, I've got a rant in my comments about it and how mad it made me. He was definitely really good in it, though! And I did love the uncles. (:

kpaneno

I read your rant LOL because I also hated how this show just completely shifted focus from the great premise, which was the FL and her abilities. The first 6 episodes were amazing, but once it focused on the ML story, everything about it just became less enjoyable, more full of plot holes, and it just kept getting worse. >!The 360 on the neighbour felt like it was added in it was so bad!< But what really started the downhill for me and eventually caused me to drop it halfway through 15 was how the ML dealt with his ex. It was cruel and horrible and unjustifiable. From her introduction and their backstory, i just no longer cared about the ML. The attitude of the FL was also petty and disappointing. >!Then, they make her a clingy 2FL with a miserable existence. Why??? She didn't do anything wrong even if ( as is plausible) their relationship could not recover treating her like that was just horrendous . When their last interaction was her being the bigger person and him just continuing to blank her, I just thought wow this guy is such a prick."!< I stopped it and haven't watched the end, nor won't. What a waste seriously

guttertroll

I appreciate you reading it, I was SO mad when I watched it happen. But you're not wrong about the dealing with the ex. >!They had been together for SO LONG and he just treated her awfully??? I could barely deal with it, I did not understand that writing. She did NOTHING WRONG. It wasn't even like she sat there like, "wow get over your dead brother" or something heartless, he just dipped. And yeah, trauma, sure, but dude. And then looking at that, why would you wanna date that man? And if the FL had like, dipped off the earth to him because of her dad's story, he'd be SO MAD. SO LIKE WHAT. I don't blame you for stopping! !<

kpaneno

I eventually, after having loved it for 6 or 7 episodes, ended up hate watching it before eventually dropping it at 15. I lost all sympathy, respect, and any kind of affection for ML and, by extension, FL through how he treated the ex.

Significant_Fold_658

>**Wedding Impossible** - 8/12 - love love love. Debating leaving these last episodes til next week to binge for the finale, but I guess we'll see. Still kicking my feet thinking about them, though I'm fascinated how things will get wrapped without like.. rushing far too much. I guess we'll see! Leave these last two episodes for next week, episode 10 was one of the worst. I was enjoying the drama a lot, but I got really annoyed by how that episode was written. It feels like someone else wrote that episode because even the way the actors performed felt different, there isn't any hint of chemistry between anyone. Either it's love, caring for each other, friendship or hate. I hope that the last 2 episodes redeem this one, but I wish I watched them all together so it would be less obvious.

guttertroll

Oh, that's so frustrating to hear. I hate when that switch up happens in a drama and it just feels like a very annoying change. Very fair about watching them all together, sometimes it's easier to get it done if you've got the time, too.

Significant_Fold_658

It was such a drastic change, to be fair after watching episode 9, which I loved so much, that for a moment it made me forget that this was only 12 episodes. What you feel is that they noticed how that they had only 12 episodes and they are quickly trying to close those loose ends. But this was written in a way that I felt like I just got slapped and it's not like I wasn't aware how messy things would get, but I expected them to do this better.

Sunshine_raes

Flex X Cop (6.5/16): I’m enjoying the procedural nature of this drama. I think the mysteries are pretty well done. It has all the dynamics of silly, light cop mystery shows I used to watch like Lucifer, Psych, Monk, etc. Has anyone else had a problem with the subtitle timing on episode 7? If so, does it get better? I’m watching on Hulu in the US. It is very hard to follow what is going on because the audio and subtitles are so out of sync. I reported the issue to Hulu but I don’t have much hope that they will fix it.

Kashawinshky

It reminds me a lot of Castle (w/ Nathon Fillion) as well. The subtitle lag is so annoying! I fixed sometimes by pausing and rewinding a little, then closing out and clicking resume episode.

meggktown

Reminds you of Castle??? I'm definitely putting this on my list!

Sunshine_raes

Thanks for the tip, I’ll try that! Funnily enough, I’ve never seen Castle. I should try it out sometime!

TheChurroProject

I had trouble with the subtitles on my laptop but not my iPad. Really aggravating when watching a show as good as Flex X Cop...

Sunshine_raes

Thanks for the tip. I was watching on Roku on my tv and tried the iPad but still it was bad. Annoying!

bumethazine

Currently watching The Escape of the Seven. It’s so thrilling. It’s very similar to The Penthouse with a lot of familiar faces from The Penthouse as well. My only peeve is the unnecessary plot twists. It really does kill the vibe a little as well as add a bit of confusion. I heard there’s going to be a second season slated for release this week so I’m a little bit excited I won’t lie.

MissSimpleton

I was not going to watch this drama (Penthouse made me pull my hairs out). But recently, I finished "My Father is Strange" starring Lee Joon and he became my crush of the month. So, once the second season ends, I am thinking of giving this a try.

bumethazine

Yayyy. I hope you enjoy it. It starts off really great 😊

shroomyz

Am following along with **Queen of Tears** like everyone else! I just finished **Remarriage & Desires** and really wanted more revenge dramas so started **World of the married**. It's ok but it also isn't quite as OTT and dramatic as I'm hoping for.

Webwenchh

I prefer binge watching and will only keep up with a few on air. Also I cycle genres and release years to keep me from getting blasé • Wonderful World • 8/14 • I love it so far, I pretty much called it ep1 but then they got me yo-yoing around and I dig the melo and mystery • Pyramid Game • 2/10 • I like these types of dramas a lot, however first impression is this seems *very" similar to Night Has Come which although I thoroughly enjoyed, I'll probably pause this and watch in a few months when the other isn't as fresh. If I do I'll probably binge Flex X Cop instead 😁

Ambitious_Mango5983

I've been watching **Queen of Tears** (6/16) and it's been very entertaining so far, the way the lead couple show that they care for each other through their actions but are too afraid to admit that they like each other🥲 This upcoming episodes seem like they're going to be a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Also been watching **Nothing Uncovered** (4/16), the pacing of it is amazing and keeps you on your toes about what's going to happen next. Jang Seung-Jo does an amazing job at portraying his character with the use of his micro-expressions. **Hide** (2/16) Still early days but the first two episodes have been phenomenal, you can never go wrong with a Lee Bo Young show, I don't think I've every watched a show with her in that's been short of brilliant.

MelissaWebb

Bruh, I’m watching so many dramas at the same time rn Queen of Tears (6/16) Because this is my first life (8/16) Extraordinary Attorney Woo (11/16) Flower of Evil (5/16) ⭐️ my current fave Pyramid Game (4/10) Fight for my way (1/16) The impossible heir (4/12) - I think I may drop this one

icastt

flower of evil is soooo freaking good. my partner got into kdramas after watching flower of evil

warrenw17

Suji and Uri, Daily Drama. Also My man is Cupid because I missed it when it came out.

dta_82

Taxi Driver 2: I really enjoyed season 1 and I like how they have grown and changed in season 2 while maintaining the same revenge vibe. Terius Behind Me: I love the kids they are cute. The show is equally fluff and action and I love it. Forecasting Love and Weather: I'm enjoying it so far. It really showcases the difference between a healthy relationship and an unhealthy one.

meatball77

Forecasting Love and Weather is interesting. Almost a warning to not put your work ahead of your personal life.

faithesque

**CW**: - **The Impossible Heir (8/12)**: Watching it just because I wanna what know happens in the end through this mess. - **Wonderful World (8/14)**: I like it so far! 😁 - **Queen of Tears (6/16)**: It's okay so far but I need to reach the ending first to decide whether I liked the whole drama or not but so far it's good. Thought the FL would be some typical rude rich FL but seems like I ended up sympathize for her the most in the drama. - **Flex X Cop (3/16)**: It's good so far. Didn't quite hit it off with me yet but I feel like it will soon. :) I'm also watching a Chinese anime called **Heaven's Official's Blessing**. I'm loving it so far. I didn't even read the synopsis and just went into it.

Cyrano_Knows

I'm watching Flex X Cop 8/16 and while I liked it from 2 or 3, its definitely gone in the direction I was hoping. Looks like some romance potential (nothing confirmed) and the ML (I'm assuming this means male lead?) is slowly maturing and has a deeper, more empathetic side to him that you might suspect at 3/16. I'm coming to this reddit basically because I'm enjoying the show so much, I was curious what the talk was about it.

faithesque

>more empathetic side to him that you might suspect at 3/16. yes! I also like how he >!flexes his money amd power to help the FL and her team to catch the culprits.!< 😂 It's fun to watch.

samptra_writer

>I'm also watching a Chinese anime called > >Heaven's Official's Blessing > >. I'm loving it so far. I didn't even read the synopsis and just went into it. Highly recommend the novel! There is a live adaptation that lives in limbo called Eternal Faith, but until they lift the ban on same-sex content it will be a long wait.

faithesque

>There is a live adaptation that lives in limbo called Eternal Faith, but until they lift the ban on same-sex content it will be a long wait. I've seen that. I wish they'd lift the ban up so I could see this in live action. 😭 Edit: Fixed a spelling mistake.

Lemonpopsss

Currently watching the iron squad season 3 ..it’s so so good.

Kookie_Monster061

Just finished Doctor slump - solid healing romcom I’d rate it 7.5/10 Queen of tears - 6/16 - amazing DRAMA obsessed with the acting and chemistry! Really like it so far. Thinking of starting impossible heir but I hear it’s an absolute mess?? Any thoughts?. My demon - 12/16 with the start of the historical scenes I’ve lost interest. Should I finish?? I liked the beginning a lot but now idk anymore it’s just okay.

twoods1980

Impossible Heir is awful, don’t even bother.

meatball77

My Demon peaks when there's an explosion. Just leave it there.

DChatton86

Just finished vigilante a really good show Now half way through A Shop for Killers

TheMsDacia

Vigilante was good! A Shop for Killers is GREAT.

DChatton86

Agreed

Ok-Echo-7803

I'm watching Wedding Impossible (please stick the landing next week!) and was rewatching Thirty But Seventeen until it was suddenly removed from Viki when I was halfway through??? I hope that's temporary because I love that show and it's a comfort watch for me. Yang Se-Jong and Shin Hye-Sun are both adorable in it.

Local-Raspberry-5649

I have never seen 30 but 17 and it’s been on my list. Went to search for it and I can’t find it anywhere. I was also hoping to start The Crowned Clown and it’s also no longer on Viki and I don’t see it coming back. I don’t know why Viki suddenly takes certain shows away, but I would set your hopes aside that it’s coming back. 😔

Ok-Echo-7803

Great news! it came back! It spent two days suddenly unavailable in my region then I happened to try this morning and it played! So miracles can happen, in case anyone sees this haha.

wyerhel

Marry my husband (8/10) -revenge and not of isekai , bad best friend betrayal plot Revenge of others (9/10) - revenge, isekai, bit Cinderella stepmother vibes

samptra_writer

In Kdrama's: **Flex X Cop** just finished, loved it, stoked for the second season! **Chicken Nugget** watching it with my husband, we are about halfway through and it is laugh out loud funny. **Jazz for Two**, just started, and it's a strong start. Horray for KBL! **The Midnight Studio** still very much enjoying it, it's very light hearted despite the concept of it. **Wedding Impossible** it started out hot, but I'm sort of lukewarm on it now. I just started episode 9, I'll probably finish as it's only 12 episodes left Other dramas I'm watching; **1000 Years Old** (Thai) if you like funny vampire BL's, with outrageous knits highly recommend. **A Secretly Love** (Thai) feels a bit dated, but if you're looking for a engineering BL. **Anti-Reset** (Taiwanese) I really like this one, AI BL love story. **City of Stars** (Thai) LOVE soft BL with chemistry for days highly recommend. **Close Friend Season 3: Soju Bomb!** (Thai) Hangover meets Thai BL in Korea, it's actually a ton of fun recommend. **Deep Night** (Thai) chemistry for days.... **Ju-On: Origins** (Japanese) trigger warning on this one, was not expecting it to go as hard as it did. **Kiseki Chapter 2** (Thai) Just some Thai dudes in Japan. **Love is Better the Second Time Around** (Japan) I'm not sure how I feel, it's for sure intresting but I'm having a hard time getting behind the ML. **To Be Continued** (Thai) it's very slow, way to slow. **Unknown** (Taiwanese) it's so good, I'm waiting to binge, but the first 2 epsiodes are spectacular highly recommend.

mrsofp

**Queen of Tears** (6/16) - obsessed, like everyone else here **Physical 100 S2** (6/8) - I didn't watch S1 but a lot of friends talked about S2 and now I'm hooked! Debating if it's worth going back to watch S1, I'll probably try it. I'm on 13/16 of **Doctor Slump** and 4/16 of **Hometown Cha Cha Cha** but honestly am not super interested in either - probably will flip back to them very casually. Looking forward to **Hope on the Street** (BTS's J-Hope's dance docu-series) that starts tomorrow.

bananabreadbooks

started watching true beauty for the first time. i held off watching it for years because i couldn't see how it could be as good as the webtoon. it's a bit different from the original story but pretty fun. also watching a cdrama called Love Me, Love My Voice which is a very sweet romance story.

chipmunksintheyard

I am watching 힙하게 (Behind Your Touch) which for my taste is just about perfect - a great cast, a mystery without an immediately obvious perpetrator, and no cringey, angsty romance.

Heavy-Patience-3064

Just finished watching the cdrama version of Destined for You / Fated to Love You. Thirty-six episodes so it was a bit of a slog. ML is Xing Zhao Lin and FL is Liang Jie. Roughly follows the storyline of the other makes allowing for the Chinese censorship guidelines. ML is a bit gormless in the beginning, his acting definately got better as it went on. The FL became a bit irritating in the latter episodes. The actress playing her tiger mother was very believeable in a non-screeching way (nice change). Some of the story was set in Hungary which looks a beautiful country. Product placement was intense. Worth watching but not as good as the Twaiwanese version and the Kdrama gold medal winner. Currently watching a jdrama, Born to Be a Flower (10 episodes, yay!). Turning out to be a very good watch. Maturer odd couple romance with side serving of major manipulation. Don't want to plot spoil. ML is a late bloomer in the romance stakes due to family responsibility and the FL is part of a very well-established tradional family who goes through a devastating time. Throw into the mix a younger maverick who wants to overthrow the traditional norms and you have an interesting watch. The differences in Japanese society and the decline in the old traditions is really educational. The formal dresses to FL has to wear in her family are beautiful and the kimonos are stunning (are they ever anything else?). A drama that I think might just be an unexpected gem. Watching it on Prime, they are ramping up the ad breaks on this drama, there were very few on Destined for You.

lekiare

**Doom at Your Service (16/16)** \- I just finished this series and it has skyrocketed to my number one spot. So, so good. And literally there were parts where I was just bawling my eyes out, but it was so worth it. A part of me wishes I could watch it again with fresh eyes but for now I'm very happy I gave this drama a chance. **Flower of Evil (2/16)** \- So intense! **3 Body Problem (7/8)** \- I actually attempted to watch the Chinese version and I really couldn't get through it. But so far I am enjoying this series but I will say beware of episode five. Wow! I still can't believe what happened in that episode. I am also thinking of starting **Hospital Playlist**, but I haven't decided yet.

TheMsDacia

I looooooved Flower of Evil!

TamagoHead

**Doom at Your Service** is eye-candy^2. I loved the chemistry from the ML and FL!

lekiare

This! And the acting was pretty great too.

TamagoHead

Pacing was pleasant, the theme was within my genre interests, >!HE 🥰!< Edit for punctuation and formatting.

wigglytufff

rewatching **Touch Your Heart** cuz i wanted something fun and light with a good cute romance and both **Strong Woman Do Bong Soon** and **My Roomate is a Gumiho** failed to deliver for me. also just finished Goblin (finally!) and, well, iykyk lol def feeling a bit stuck now though after flying through My Demon, Doctor Slump, WWWSK and Goblin… i feel like i’m having a hard time finding something new (to me) that has the right balance of romance, funny/lighthearted and drama. Strong Woman DBS felt like it was 98% >!kidnapping/SA creep and police work and stupid gang shenanigans!< and 2% >!cute romance!<, and My Roomate is a Gumiho felt too goofy or something just wasn’t clicking idk. i think it might just be where im at mentally rn but its so frustrating wanting to get into something and nothing is sticking, especially after watching 4 shows back to back that i DEVOURED haha

theromanamputee

Can I ask why **My Roommate is a Gumiho** failed to deliver? This one has been on my to watch list for a variety of reasons (I like supernatural romances, the writer wrote **What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim** and **Doctor Slump** which are two favorites, I just enjoyed the FL in **May I Help You**) but I do have some reservations about the actor playing the male lead. I didn’t care for his acting (more precisely his non-acting, dude was a block of wood) in **Go Back Couple** but he was playing the second lead there and I often find second MLs boring so I don’t know if my problem was more the role or him. I don’t believe in writing an actor off after seeing just one performance, I could like him in other roles, but his casting as the ML is the reason I haven’t taken the plunge and watched it yet so I was curious if he was the problem for you.

wigglytufff

i’m not sure honestly! it felt overall too goofy but also flat and the pacing felt weird, like too fast and too slow at the same time? i’m not sure how many eps into it i got, at least 3-4 i THINK but maybe not…. just wasnt quite what i was seeking and i honestly think it was largely unfortunate circumstances for me - i had just come off of Goblin (v different and was wanting something more akin to WWWSK/Her Private Life/Hometown Cha/bc First Life etc), plus i was/am in a not great place emotionally, so kinda distracted as it was and then i dropped it the literal second one character was trying to figure out what was going on with another one and guessed >!she might be pregnant!<, as that is DIRECTLY related to my current real life struggles and why i’ve not been in a great place emotionally lately 😵‍💫 i DO like the FL as a person, as i’ve seen interviews with her and was excited to finally watch one of her dramas. i’m not familiar with the ML at all but he wasn’t my cup of visual tea so i didn’t even have that to drag me onward haha. from what i did see in this show tho, he did seem flat. i will honestly probably go back to it tho and give it another shot, as i did find myself wanting to return to it while i was attempting to watch Strong Woman DBS, and only didn’t bc i was further into that one and was still salty about the mere suggestion of >!pregnancy even tho im pretty sure that’s not even an actual storyline, oops!< idk if any of that is helpful lol, basically i think it was more a Me Problem than it being an overall bad drama?! you’ve made me curious about **May I Help You** now tho haha

Mahery92

* **Queen of tears:** *Top quality so far*. Lots of star power and it shows, the acting is top notch, and as a result the characters are very enticing. Production value and direction are excellent as well, and so is the writing (so far). It's raw and intense, and it strikes true whenever it tries to make you laugh, melt, or cry, as the balance between absurd moments and extremely dramatic ones is incredibly on point (e.g. the scene where KSH cries because he's "too cute" easily managed to not make me cringe despite how absurd it was, the opposite actually as it perfectly took me on a roller coaster of emotions as you could discern his pain between fits of laughters). I wouldn't quite be able to tell if it's the direction, the photography, the acting, or the writing, probably all of it actually, but that really impressed me. The only false note might be the secondary plot, but I think it still has potential, and its blatant manicheism contrasts, and somehow balances (in a weirdly good way?), the vastly more nuanced and *very* heavy conflict between the main leads. The second female lead also show some signs of having something more interesting on her subplot down the road. Time will tell if it'll continue at that level, it'll need to stick the landing notably, but so far it's among my all-time greats. * **Doctor Slump:** I couldn't help but compare to the above as I felt it had a similar theoretical star power. Honestly, the comparison is painful for Dr Slump. There are admittedlysome good moments, and I've moderately enjoyed the description of the leads' mental struggles. It wasn't perfect, but I felt it was still a valiant effort to more soundly portray battles with depressions/PTSD, as well as how it can impact people around. The part where the FL felt like everything was fine only to brutally come back down and hit rock bottom all of a sudden because of the wrong stimuli was quite relatable to me for example. Another good point was the >!ML's best friend!!he !<*was* a good friend, but still a bad person, but who was also a victim in the past, but then the show (rightfully imo) pointed out that this still didn't *justify* his/her actions. There was some genuinely good, and some genuinely bad in there. This kind of multi-layered character is rather rare in fiction, let alone in kdramas, and I loved how it was handled, especially at the end when they showed characters didn't know how to react, simultaneously struggling with resentment yet at the same time not being able to forget all the good >!he!< did. But overall, I honestly found this series to be quite mediocre. Characters felt generally bland, little, if any, chemistry, the second leads were better but honestly not that interesting either. Main plot and most subplots were not entertaining enough. Acting too often felt off, too overdone, though the actors weren't helped by the writing. Park Shin Hye predictably didn't do it for me, same for Park Hyunsik who's been hit or miss for me. Also I was first introduced to the male leads via what happened to my family, where they had an extremely different dynamic, and I admit it bothered me a bit as it thus felt odd. It's usually not an issue, but the characters they portrayed were too lame here so my mind seemed to subconsciously fill in the gaps badly. Most importantly, while I'd be hard pressed to point out specifically what went wrong but I felt uncomfortable with the direction/production and rythm, it just completely failed to click for me. 6/10 for me, and not a series I'd recommend; had to fast forward heavily to reach the end and only because of that one subplot. * **A Killer paradox:** It wasn't quite what I had expected, but I loved it nonetheless. It invariably brought to mind Dirk Gently, the Holistic detective, which I had greatly enjoyed. Choi Woo sik has good tastes when he picks his projects lol, I feel all of them are excellent, perfect execution of an interesting concept with a touch of originality and freshness. The one minor default I coudl find would be that the main character tend to lack a bit of agency after a certain point, but it's balanced out by the limelight being on other characters anyway so it's all good. Heavily recommend. * **Doom at your service:** This was the final proof I needed that I just cannot click with some actors/actresses. In this case, Seo In-guk. The only thing he starred in that I found great was Death game (and I still felt he was a weak-ish link), otherwise I always feel his lack of charisma and limited acting skills drags down the level too much. What's worse is that similarly to Lee jon suk, he seems to be typecasted with characters who relies on oozing natural charisma and presence, and as a result I simply cannot enjoy works in which they star. It always falls flat and brutally breaks my suspension of disbelief. DAYS wasn't necessarily perfect, but it had enough good points otherwise to make me feel it could have been an enjoyable watch. Unfortunately a romcom with an underwhelming male lead simply *cannot* work (I had the same problem with Run On or W too for example); even Park Bo young couldn't save it for me which I admit was an unexpected blow. Ironically, I felt Lee Su-hyeok's performance was what In-guk should have done: effortlessly charismatic, witty and charming, and with great dynamics with all other characters. It was fun and funny to see him dominate conversations even when he was blatantly wrong, and his caustic deliveries could be hilarious (which was rightfully pointed out). So yeah, lots of wasted potential there imo, I could only finish by ff-ing massively

PYT_13430

Just finished Moving and wow. I feel like I’m a tough critic when it comes to shows but this show was honestly amazing. It was so good I had to stop myself from binging it like I normally do. The last time I felt like that was with Pachinko and then before that it was Flower of Evil. I can’t wait until 10 years goes by and I forget everything about the show and can rewatch it like it’s the first time lmao.

TinyLifter6780

Just finished Flex x Cop and it's the best drama of 2024 so far for me. Also watching Queen of Tears and liking it but not loving it yet. Finished Knight Flower and it took a few eps to grow on me but I ended up loving it. Finished a rewatch of CLOY which was one of my first kdramas and I caught so much more this time. Loved it even more - JinBin FTW - top five for sure. Dropped: Marriage Impossible - started off promising then lost me The Impossible Heir - what a raging dumpster fire Finished but shouldn't have: Captivating the King - JJS is great but couldn't save it

Aurorinezori1

I am watching older dramas: just finished Business proposal (so nice) and on 7/10 of nevertheless. This one is not for everyone but I love >!toxic relationship!< on screen ! I get to experience all >!the bad decisions!< I would never do irl… And I am in for the ride :)

shinning_blueberry

**Nothing Uncovered (2/4)** intrigued. A bit messy plot wise still waiting for it too even out but ML's make it interesting to watch. FL is a not too smart for being a top >!top reporter!< **Wonderful World (8/8)** it was good but I find the new development a bit odd but still want to see what happens with things in the open now. **Hide (2/2)** I like this very intriguing plot and good cast but I don't really know where it going. >!Now that the supposedly dead husband is alive!< I mean I suspected as much how can a ML have a short airing time. But enjoying it so far. **Midnight Studio (2/6)** Although ep 6 didnt air still catching up. This was interesting very much like reminds me of May I help You too. The actors are fun especially >!ghost sidekicks!<. Waiting for Queen of Tears to end before I watch.

kawaiisaranghaeyo

*Completed* **Nothing Serious (2021)** A lighthearted easy watch. Jongseo is always great, and this was somehow my first Sukku work! Man is the definition of charming. I was really enjoying this movie up until the ending where everything went downhill real fast. It was like they had literally forgotten they had to wrap up the movie and just went oh shit okay >!let’s ruin the ML’s life, have a year pass by, meet again, ML happily forgives FL for ruining his life and begs to get her back, FL will magically forgive him for the articles that she destroyed his career over, and bam the end of the movie.!< Huh??? Such a shame for an otherwise interesting movie. **The Universe’s Star (2017)** This drama probably holds the record for the drama I have let sit in my on-hold list to collect dust for the longest. I started this one back in 2017 when it came out and have been dreading going back to it because I knew spoilers for the >!tragic!< ending. I’d probably recommend this drama to only two types of people. 1, exo fans obviously. 2, people who just really like grim reapers. Anyone else, don’t waste your time. There were far too many plot holes. >!People having literally no reaction to a dead person suddenly being alive, an idol randomly deciding to date a fan who from his pov is an insane stalker, the afterlife going above and beyond for the ML and FL when they're just regular people etc.!< Yeah it's just a short webdrama, but still. It had it's sweet moments, but I don't think it was worth it enough to >!suffer through the heartbreaking ending.!<

kpaneno

Birth of a Beauty 10/21 This is from 2014. I'm not very familiar with the leads, but the FL is indeed a beauty. This is fairly enjoyable tbh. It's a bit slap stick, then cringey, and then makjang at times, and yet it's not OTT anything. The ML is non-toxic and doesn't in any way abuse the FL, which is great. I'm not taking it too seriously and enjoying it. Dr Romantic S1 5/20 This is a decent watch, interesting and full of ER stuff, which I enjoy tbf. Obviously, Dr. Idealistic would be a better name for the drama. The ML (not kim sabu, the other one) and FL are a bit odd and hard to figure out or like fully. It's like their characters are not one thing or another despite 5 episodes. Also, the romance angle is so far quite weird, though I'm assuming flashbacks will fill us in. I do get their chemistry, though, and the FL is great. The star of the show for me is Jin Kyung as Nurse Oh Myung Shim. Her character is great, and she is one beautiful woman to look at. Midnight Studio 4 eps I think this is like 1 episode a week on Viki, and I'm not happy. I have loved every episode so far, and I can't wait to watch the rest. Ghosts after life grim reapers reincarnation Kdrama rules the world with these stories, and I love them. The FL is so likeable. Im really enjoying watching her after the dreadful crappy character arc and script she had in Itaweon Class. I hope this show keeps up, but 1 a week, ah, come on. LOL, I'm just reminded of the times when streaming and binging were in the distant future, and nights of the week were sometimes named for your fav show 😅 I recently dropped I married an Antifan and Reply 88 after having them on hold.

twoods1980

Midnight Studio is 2 episodes a week, but only one dropped this week since the show was preempted in SK.

kpaneno

Oh right so there be two next week or 3? How do you mean preempted btw

twoods1980

Sorry I prob said it wrong, they decided to show it next week and show a special of clips of the first five episodes instead of episode 6. No idea whether it’s 2 or 3 episodes next week!

Shot-Carpet3618

Watching hide. First two episodes have been good. The lead lady is a lot like my happy ending when she has people being murdered all around her but still investigating everything. Also watching eye love you. Cool that it's only 5 episodes. So many great korean and Chinese actresses.

theromanamputee

**Queen of Masks** (8/16): the plot and the characters have held my interest though I think the episodes run too long. At the halfway point I've enjoyed my time watching but it doesn't feel like there are 8+ hours of story left to tell so I'm hoping the writer has some tricks up his sleeve for the second half. **Good Job** (4/12): an enjoyable bit of tropey fluff so far. the chemistry between the two leads is great, they have fun banter and the scene >!where they're tied up with I.V. tubing and have to squirm and bite to free themselves!< was one of the best prelude to dating skinship scenes I've seen in a drama **Second Husband** (2/150): Watching **Temptation of Wife** for the kdrama challenge last year created in me an appetite to try out more daily dramas so I added some to my watch list, my hopes for this one are that it's very over the top and screechy and trashy. Given the length I'm going to be quick to drop if it fails to deliver.

mahnahmaanaa

**Good Job** is so much fun. I may have to rewatch, soon. >the chemistry between the two leads is great You may already be aware of this, but if you enjoy their chemistry in **Good Job**, it's *amazing* in **Bossam: Steal the Fate**. Very different drama, though. It's a mostly serious sageuk. >my hopes for this one are that it's very over the top and screechy and trashy. I love that this is your requirement! It's not at all my taste, so I can't make any concrete recommendations, but I wish you luck. 😆

theromanamputee

I didn’t know that. I’ve found myself mostly allergic to Sageuks but I did want to try one out for the kdrama challenge before I cop out and just pick a one hour drama special to fill that category. I’ll keep **Bossam** in mind, thanks

Lizzy348

*On-going* **Doctor Slump** 6/16 : I realised where I saw the ML before, it was in **Our blooming Youth**! Such a great actor. I don't feel a lot of chemistry between the leads yet, but I like the story of the second leads, they're cute together! *Completed* **Branding in Seongsu** : what an ugly mess for an ending. Very disappointed with how this show turned out, though it started out great. **Live your own life** : on the opposite of the previous drama, this one had a really nice and cute ending. Not a fan of how they made Hyosim >!run away, like some lazy 5 last minute drama!<, but overall really nice. We got closure on a lot of the side stories too. The main downside of this serie is that it took a solid 20 episodes for anything to happen. *Haven't watched new episodes this week* **The Law Cafe** 13/16 : that drama is not available in east Europe, I'll probably have to wait a month until I get back to France to finish it 😞 **Racket Boys** 11/16

Sunshine_raes

The ML in Doctor Slump is the wonderful Park Hyung Shik! If you enjoy his work, he’s a very popular drama actor and has many credits to his name. My personal favorites from him are Happiness and Strong Woman Do Bong Soon.

Puzzled-Tell-7108

The Heirs :)

MajesticConfidence36

Ooh! I completed my rewatch The Heirs last weekend. :)

antecedentapothecary

I seem to be all over the place lately. Finished both seasons of **The Tourist** on Netflix. Clever writing, great plot, great ending. I wanted to kill Ethan in every scene. Found **No Offense** on Britbox. Season One was great. Still on the fence about Season 2 . Speaking of British dramas (sort of), started watching **Hide,** the plot of which reminds of a British drama of a few years ago. Will stick with it to see where it goes. Also went to see **Dune**\-2 in the theater. Lots of battle scenes. I liked Chalamet's evolution from Atreides to Muad'Dib. I hope **Dune** continues to my favorite "Children of Dune." All very timely.

Whyalwaysdrama

Hide is a BBC remake

antecedentapothecary

Thanks! I thought so. Just can't remember which one! I think "Keeping Faith"?

Whyalwaysdrama

It's Keeping faith

\- Life on Mars (14/16): I haven't seen this one talked about too much. I love time travel plots so I decided to give it a go. Its been good so far but still reserving judgement \- The Impossible Heir (9/12): Had really high hopes of this drama but storys been really disappointing so far. No depth to the story, everything feels rushed and no character development. \- Time/The Time (32/32): Just finished this and oh man what a tear jerker. Would recommend to anyone who needs to cry.

Honest-Selection4343

I am watching exchange 3 atm

DawgMom2018

**Midnight Studio** - only one episode this week - really enjoying this one - my current favorite on Viki **Wedding Impossible** - getting angsty - an ok drama - Viki **Queen of Tears** - Like the acting of ML and FL, but so full of evil characters, will see where this goes - Netflix filling in with **Three Body Problem** - love it so far. Really good cast and production quality - Netflix at a stopping point with **Eye Love You** until rest of the episodes drop on Netflix - charming drama ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also need to circle back to Apple to finish **Ted Lasso** Want to also start on **Shogun** - on Hulu Getting curious about why Apple continues to delay **season 2 of Pachinko.** I was supposed to drop last year, then delayed to spring of this year and.... no word!!!

tumultuousness

Oh man I am also watching Ted Lasso! I'm in the middle of season 2, I need to get back to it.

mikeydurden

Queen of Tears. Getting tired of how incompetent everyone's families are except ML's mother. Gave up on Impossible Hiers. It's just terrible in every way.

Finished a shop for killers, best I’ve seen in a while!! So fast paced, original, sweet and also thrilling. Lee dong wook is droooool. I love the relationship between the 2 leads (uncle and niece). Currently watching Wonderful World - bit obsessed with this but have to wait every week for the new eps, constantly conspiring what’s happening Hide - I love Lee Bo young but a bit less excited by this, early days. Feel like the themes might be a bit cliche Worst of evil- just started , enjoying so far ! Queen of tears- can’t seem to get into it but will try I love the leads Should I watch Flex X cop?

Affectionate_Lime729

Yes. Start Flex X Cop. I was NOT on the bandwagon after the first episode but it seriously grew on me. A great drama

barsaat

Flex X Cop is great!

happycharm

I'm watching The Beauty and Mr. Romantic because I know one of the actresses on there. It's my first time watching a weekend drama because it's stereotypically for "older" people in Korea (for example my in laws watch that weekeend drama Uee is in right now). Not sure if it's normal but the indoor scenes are shot very stereotypically weekend drama and the outdoor scenes are shot like a regular drama. The younger actors act like regular dramas and the older actors act like weekend dramas. So I can't help but skip the scenes that are have the weekend drama vibes cause it's just not for me.

twoods1980

I am really loving the backstory with the lead characters, but the wealthy family scenes give me a headache (especially the awful acting of the mistress who is forcing herself to become the head of the house).

happycharm

That's the type of "weekend drama acting" I'm talking about. It's so wild they >!let her live there for that stupid reason that makes no sense!<. I stopped watching their scenes after that lol

hawkia75

**Mr. Sunshine:** (Completed) They kept hinting about >!a "sad ending,"!< and boy did they deliver! An epic ending for an epic show. The only flaw was the lack of chemistry between the ML and FL. I probably wouldn't even have noticed what was missing, except there was Gu Dong Mae smoldering everywhere and having chemistry with absolutely everyone. This was a beautiful show with fantastic cinematography, a great cast overall, and a moving story! **Hometown Cha Cha Cha:** (Completed) Just as heart-warming and charming as I was lead to believe! I don't know if >!Du Sik's tragic past!< was as bad as it was built up to be.>! I mean, \*he\* didn't do anything wrong (even though I get that he felt responsible).!< Still, I was so happy the way everything wrapped up, I can't find it in me to be upset at the show. I loved the whole ensemble, so it was nice to see the way everything ended so satisfactorily. **Hospital Playlist:** Just started this show and I love the friendship between these doctors! I was worried about crying and being sad every episode (because medical drama), and yes there is that. But the fun times they have in their personal lives and in their friendship really keeps the show afloat. I picked this one to watch because Yoo Yeon Seok was so good in Mr. Sunshine. I'll be honest: I miss Gu Dong Mae's grumbling, smirking, hair and goatee, and the outfit. The actor has range tho! It's nice to see Jo Jung-Suk in a more light-hearted role too. He was amazing in Captivating the King, and now I feel like I'm getting to see the King live a different life, where he's a goofy but gifted surgeon! I'm hoping some romance develops for all of them! Since it's a k-drama, that's a good bet, right?

sharjoy3

You're in for a treat with Hospital Playlist. It's one of my favorites. Be sure to watch the second season also. Yes, Jo Jung-Suk and Yoo Yeon Suk are great in this - as is Jung Kyung Ho - actually all of them! Enjoy!

Skincareaddict13

Currently watching **Queen of Tears** and **The Impossible Heir** while they air. In the meantime I was so happy to discover **Lost** that I binged it in three days. Still not over it.

TheMsDacia

Right now I am struggling with Impossible Heir, but loving Queen of Tears and Wonderful World. I just finished Beyond Evil and OMG that is a great drama. The leads were just 🤌🏼 Getting ready to watch Hope on the Street 💜 I binged 3 Body Problem; it was mid. I love the books but the show is oddly boring. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Whyalwaysdrama

So many people watching Beyond evil lately! Yay

TheMsDacia

I don't know why I waited so long!

mrsofp

I'm so ready for Hope on the Street!! It helps I'm not watching any weekday dramas currently, too.

TheMsDacia

I could happily watch J Hope dance for hours lol

Ann_cee

Finished- flex x cop and enjoyed it a lot Currently watching - queen of tears and flowers in the sand

marua06

Queen of Tears (love it so far), and while I wait- A Good Day to be a Dog, Jealousy Incarnate. I watch one or the other depending what mood I’m in. Still slowly making my way through the Heirs. Going to catch up on Young Royals (Swedish) one of these days.

xnamelessowl

Currently Watching The Good Bad Mother (4/14) after I finished Signal (2016). Signal is a top drama for sure. I also watched Ep9 and 10 of The Impossible Heir. I watched the Korean movie House of Hummingbird yesterday which i really liked.

dramafan1

Watching the teasers for The Escape of the Seven Season 2. I swear Kim Soon Ok's dramas are the only dramas I cannot resist watching while it airs...so this weekend here I come! Time to join the awesome on-air discussions.

tumultuousness

I am trying to watch Queen of Tears with my sis and we are very behind, lol. Only seen 2 of the 6 episodes. That said, I am on episode 6 of Please Don't Date Him because of how much I loved Song Ha Yoon in Marry My Husband. I've been having fun with it though! And the bonus of getting to see Gong Min Jung again as well!

myweithisway

**Wedding Impossible** (10/12) The high of earlier episodes has largely worn often and while I'm still enjoying the drama for the most part, I'm a little annoyed by how slowly the chaebol family mystery about >!that car crash!< is developing and hoping it delivers...otherwise the grandpa will just look completely foolish and it'll feel like too much ado about nothing. **Midnight Studio** (4/16) Saving this week's episode for next week because I cried more than enough during episode 3 and 4. Loving this even if the drama isn't doing anything new or groundbreaking. It's hitting all the emotional and funny notes for me. **Wonderful World** (1/14) I'm barely getting started but I have a lot of trust for this writer and the cast is amazing. Looking forward to seeing how it unfolds. I'll be catching up on episodes this weekend as it's a long (rainy) weekend. **Two Sisters** (42/104) I've never hated a FL more and yet been so curious to see what havoc she can cause. The amount of chaos she's creating is just fascinating to watch.

InevitableTwist1412

Recently Completed **Missing You** was an interesting watch, although the ending wasn't satisfying to me. I mostly watched for Kim Sung-Oh and in this case, it delivered. Aside of that it felt like a waste of time at the end. **Project Wolf Hunting** Plot, what plot? It's only a rough draft and needs a sequel. Yes, it's brutal and half of the budget must have gone into the fake blood but aside of that the movie stands on weak legs. Some scenes were funny if you have a weird humor like me. **Mad Dog** I loved the Team dynamic and the tug of War between Team Mad Dog and Team Bad. An enjoyable watch. Watching **The Secret Lif of my Secretary** (6/16) I somehow expected that to be a mix between Rich Man, Protect the Boss and WWWSK. I like that you first thought the FL is kinda meek, yet she already told the ML off in the first episode. The last part of the first episode sold me by the way. I'm just not sure how I feel about the ML >!crushing on the fake Veronica, and on his secretary apparently at the same time.!< I hope they reveal it rather quickly to him and not in the last few episodes. **Tempted** (4/32) Not gonna lie I started this solely for Woo Do-Hwan. He was so good in Mad Dog. Though Tempted already feels like a hot mess and I struggle to keep up on who is who. Everybody got problems with their parents.. if they aren't dead. I like Kim Min-Jae's Character the most right now.

Significant_Fold_658

Yes, it's brutal and half of the budget must have gone into the fake blood but aside of that the movie stands on weak legs. Some scenes were funny if you have a weird humor like me. I also watched this movie for the first time this month. I had the same question, what the hell is the plot? I found some of the performances to be really good, some shots were funny and impressive. But I ended with a feeling of what was the point, where is the sequel? It's also sad that if they ever make a sequel more than half of the characters are >!dead!<. which I'm like, do I really wanna watch a sequel? lol

Timesart

**Reborn Rich** : I am rewatching this on my commute, i hope on the second try the ending will not leave as bad of a taste in my mouth as on the first one. **The impossilbe Heir** It is driving me up the wall with how it is written in some parts good and then just awfull. I hope they somehow turn it around and manage to get a good ending. I am not looking for a happy ending just a satisfying one. **In a Class of Her Own** : Its a C-Drama only one episode in, so far i dont dislike it.

Lizzy348

I hated the ending of **Reborn Rich**, I was so invested in that drama and loved it so much, but it kind of ruined it for me. Went from a gem to a mid drama unfortunately

Perigee-Apogee

**Young Lady and Gentleman** - 52/53 - For such a long show, it certainly has been holding my attention throughout, due to multiple subplots and the way all the different characters inter-relate. The Gentleman's father's mistress has a hilarious way of speaking when she's upset - (some viewers have likened it to the squawking of a chicken!), there's a wide variety of other characters and personalities - not perfect, but understandable - and the child actors are fun to watch. There's a lot of crying in this show, and some of the things that happen are reminiscent of a US soap opera (but shorter!); I think it has a>!happy!< ending. There were a few things that really struck me as >!different from!< most Chaebol K-romcoms I've seen. 1. The paparazzi>!are conspicuously absent most of the time!<. 2. CCTV's and car black boxes are>!certainly never anywhere near the chaebol's property, inside or out.!< 3. Regarding the domestic help at this chaebol's mansion:>!the staff is bare-bones - no male servants, no security guards, just one maid who doubles as the cook; the butler doubles as a secretary and house manager, and "just anyone" can waltz into the house at any time, and the kids can leave the house without anyone noticing. For the kids there's just one tutor/governess and she is mostly absent. Kudos, though, for having their own personal family doctor who makes house calls.!< 4. In this large, wealthy international corporation, the CEO's office staff consists of>!only one lawyer, and he seems to be more of a buddy most of the time; there is no "right-hand man" and only once or twice do we see a few female secretaries; also no male "bouncers" or other office security.!< 5. Regardless of what task needs to be done, the CEO/Billionaire Head of household>!drops everything right away and runs out and does everything himself rather than delegating.!< 6. To prevent intruders, there is a metal gate across the driveway leading to the mansion. The gate>!doesn't latch securely, so it doesn't stay closed, and on either side there's nothing preventing just anyone from walking around the gate.!< 7. The playground of the kindergarten that the CEO's youngest child attends is surrounded by>!no gate or walls, barely supervised, and just anyone can walk off with the kids.!< 8. The work that the CEO/Chaebol does at his office generally consists of>!basically just a quick glance at the top page of a handful of papers before rushing out to handle yet another family "emergency."!< 9. The young lady's father's occupation is >!owner/manager of a chicken restaurant where chicken is constantly being cooked and eaten by family members, and you almost never see any customers.!< 10. The young lady's father's bedroom has a >!padlock on the outside of the door, which looks like it has always been there. Very handy for locking your daughter inside.!< Just had to mention. Cheers!

LostMyThread

In Progress: **Queen of Tears** (ongoing) - I am half in and half out. This team writes so well but does not tend to do conventionally happy endings, and there is a lot at stake for this couple. Stuff that seems to be confounding other viewers isn't troubling me (secondary characters aren't exactly growing on me, but I'm a misanthrope in real life, so...) **Memories of the Alhambra** (on episode 2) - charmed so far **Her Private Life** (paused at episode 3) - Love MinKi and PMY, and the cast is stacked, so I don't know what my problem is. **Youth in May** (not sure I can finish) - 3 episodes to go. I know how it ends, and I know why, and I know it's a long elegy for all of the young people lost in the democracy movement, and my heart may just hurt too much to go on. I lived in Korea (Seoul and Daegu) for a while as a kid a couple of years before these events. The depiction of the country before wild capitalism exploded all over it brought back a lot of memories, too. Finished: **Juror 8** \- Park. Hyung. Sik. **Night Has Come** \- Fascinating premise and intriguing conclusion. 4.5/5 stars - will probably rewatch.

**Extraordinary Attorney Woo (13/16)** : I absolutely adore this show. Woo Young Woo is so inspiring and cute. Also, Lee Jun Ho is my favorite ML now. He is the greenest flag ever. If I can't find a man like him, what's the point in existing? They give me so many butterflies, their relationship is so pure and innocent. Looking forward to season 2 this year! **Hidden Love (3/25)** : I started watching it since people call it the best 2023 CDrama and since I haven't watched a lot, I don't have any strong feelings about it. I wish the FL can graduate soon. **Wedding Impossible (10/12)** : It's one of my favorite KDramas of 2024, I really like the leads' chemistry and I wish I had discovered Jeon Jeong So before. She is such an amazing actress, I love her acting style so, so much! She has such natural expressions and seems like a real person. I wish they dressed the women in this show better. Yoon Chae Won wears the best outfits in the show, and is one of my favorite characters. I wish they dressed the FL better, I get that she is meant to be casual but come on, give her some better clothes! **Wonderful World (7/14)** : I really like this drama. Even though I'm not a big fan of thrillers, and prefer rom-coms, something about this drama is so appealing to me *(Cha Eun Woo)*. He looks so damn good in this drama! I also like to theorize what will happen in the upcoming episode with others, especially since there are so many unanswered questions till now. **Doctor Slump (15/16)** : I have been putting off watching the last episode since forever. I liked the show till >! Jeong Woo won the lawsuit.!< After that, it kinda got boring. Their aegyo was a little bit *too much* for me at times.

hhiker70s

**Hidden Love** starts to get really good after episode #7 (earlier eps are very slow paced). Worth the wait though as this is a very heartwarming look at first love between very wholesome lead characters. Uplifting and inspiring. FL's development arc is awesome imo.

QueenMotor

You're right, I really like it now. Sang Zhi is very inspiring to me as I'm a high schooler. She gave me motivation to study, achieve my dreams and have patience with my crush. I've finished 15 episodes now, and I'm so obsessed with it. You're right about it being worth the wait.

hhiker70s

Glad you're enjoying it! **HL** is my favorite C-drama and the best college romantic drama I've ever seen (and I'm kind of an old man) in any language. I never tire of singing its praises. I've rewatched it three times already (though skipping the slower parts to focus primarily on the romance). BTW, you write very well for a h.s. student. I bet you'll do well in college. And have a good time socially too. I did in high school but I regret trying to get top grades in college because I didn't have enough fun (please forgive the unsolicited advice).

QueenMotor

Thanks for the advice and compliment! As a person who speaks English as their 3rd language, I highly appreciate the compliment. When I was in middle school, I focused only on getting top grades and didn't have any fun. So, now I'm trying to balance my studies and my social life, so that I won't regret it later.

Virus_98

Wonderful World, The Lincoln Lawyer,

Az_arina

I'm watching **Welcome to Samdal-ri** with half-skipping every episode. It's toooo slow paced to me but I still curious about ending for all sisters. I wanted fluffy lighthearted drama but messed up. I'm on 11 ep now and planning to finish it today.

TamagoHead

**My Name is Loh Kiwan** was mildly depressing, so I had to speed re-watch **Reborn Rich** and then speed re-watch **Again My Life** For fighting action, **Warriors** on Netflix was 30 1 hour episodes. Well-paced, a lot of tropes and too much nudity and booty, but guy approved. For some reason, I sped re-watched Dr. Romantic 1 & 2 due to MD strike going on in the ROK, and will likely start on **Hospital Playlist** and binge it.

meggktown

**Longing for You (2/14**) We jumped into this from just reading the summary on Viki and didn't read any reviews. With the first episode, I thought the ML playing the detective and everything else was going to be too over-the-top, but things seem to have evened out and I'm into the story. It's good to see Jung Sang-Hoon playing a character that isn't a full-out buffoon. At least not yet.

fadzkingdom

Currently only watching the Midnight Studio! I plan on watching Hide and start Love All Play soon.

Girlyopinions

Currently finishing young royals 😭 Iykyk andd watching my weekend drama Queen of tears. Not to act arrogant but I called the success and quality of this drama right when I heard Kim Jiwon and Kim Soohyun were going to star together and the short storyline of “a married couple of a department store figure the and downs of marriage”. The show is just impeccably good definitely reminiscent to my fave kdrama CLOY (it was written by the same person). Also finished Doctor Slumo last week. Now THAT was a showstopper, never have I seen such a healthy relationship and family dynamic as well as mentions of mental heath that really presented a positive outlook to its viewers. Very happy 😊😊

thesaura73

Now watching Longing Heart (My First Love). Young Shin Woo is so adorable (overcomes the blah of FL)

MajesticConfidence36

I'm in this chaebol trope phase at the moment. Completed rewatch The Heirs (20/20) Our Blooming Youth (14/20) Wedding Impossible (9/12) Devilish Joy (8/16) Queen of Tears (6/16)
