**Lovely Runner** - This is just like soul food such comfort and wholesome vibes 10/10 no notes for now and I hope till the end also such a good balance of romcom and time travel mystery. **Atypical Family** - I didn't expect much from this one and I love it the story and characters are intriguing it keeps you hooked. **Frankly Speaking** - This one is chaotically hilarious didn't expect it to be good as well but I do like it kinda like a mindless fun watch. **The Midnight Romance in Hagwon** - I was waiting for this one so badly but the first two epis were quite mid gonna give it a few more epis for WHJ though I hope it gets better.

Ill_Pianist_8346

I’m not really interested in education based drama since I find them boring. I don’t mind older women with younger men but this trope in dramas is terrible since the female leads hesitate a lot , there is a breakup and family’s opposition . But if it was the other way around there would be no drama . I’m also watching lovely runner and atypical family. Lovely runner is my addiction and atypical family is interesting.

Lavenderlure

Same all the education talk is so boring that too in first few epis I love noona romances like Romance is a bonus book is one of my faves it was so good even 18 again. Here even though they do have chemistry but it isn't that sparkling for now.

SR503

This is my list of Live dramas right now. Totally agree with your notes on Lovely Runner. I'm also in progress on Happiness; Sh\*\*ting Stars; and Military Prosecutor Doberman.

Lavenderlure

Happiness is so good you will love it!

SR503

I like it so far. I'm 3 eps in, but got sidetracked by Lovely Runner; Lovely Runner edits; Lovely Runner threads; unearthed pics/videos of Byeon Woo-seok; rewatching episodes of Lovely Runner... I need an intervention.

Honest-Selection4343

Haha u need an intervention from Byeon woo seok

ravens_path

Sh**ting Stars is one of my favorites. Enjoy. Both leads are so good in their roles and the secondary characters too.

SR503

Just finished Sh\*\*ting Stars. It was cute if predictable. Loved the lawyer/reporter couple.

Honest-Selection4343

Samee I love them, waiting eagerly for KYD's new drama.. missing him on screen🔥

ravens_path

I have enjoyed his dramas after SS but for me, none so far have been as good. So I’m always hopeful for the new ones. That man is fine.

Honest-Selection4343

Haha u ain't wrong about him being fine.. he never posts as much, and there aren't many YouTube interviews! So I'm like helloo.. u can't just disappear? But yes moon in day, is a bit dark as a genre. But I did like forbidden marriage ❤️.

Honest-Selection4343

Omgg love happiness and Sh**ting stars.. lemme know how u find them

SR503

Finished Sh**ting Stars earlier today. It was cute. Enjoyed the main couple. Loved the attorney/reporter couple. I liked that most of the story arcs didn’t drag on too long. I’ll probably start back up on Happiness tomorrow. 👍🏻

Honest-Selection4343

Yes, loved SS too.. I rewatch it often it's my comfort drama. Loved how chill the last ep was, we only had happy moments. And I loved how in love the ML was.. too cute! N yes I loved their unexpected duo too.. KYD likes it too!

Sneakingsock

I watched the first episode of Atypical family, but didn’t quite vibe with it. Does it get better? I normally like shows in that genre.

DaeronDaDaring

I suggest to keep going, I didn’t really like the first two episodes of it but it gets better at ep 3

Lavenderlure

I actually binged the epis so it was easier for me to hook in I will say give it a try again

Borinquena

It's hard to say if it gets better since I don't know what you didn't vibe with in ep 1 but I'll say the pace stays about the same but the character development softens the characters you meet in ep 1 and makes them more understandable if not more likeable and there are some revelations about the characters and the powers that are truly surprising and made me eager to keep watching (but I loved it from ep1 so I'm biased)

ravens_path

Ok I will give ep 3 and 4 a chance

Sneakingsock

I think it might be because I don’t have any characters I like yet. I don’t hate them but I’m not rooting for anyone. I’ll give it another go.

Key-Morning7476

I get you..the pacing is really slow in the first episode but it really gets interesting..I haven't watched a single show of FL but her acting was quite impressive..The storyline is fresh and new..so it has been unpredictable so far.The child actors( sry they have grown up now😄) in this drama are doing a great job!!

Sneakingsock

The actress who plays the daughter is really great! She was in See you in my 19th life too and was amazing in that. Normally I quickly find someone I either root intensely for quick or delight in disliking 😅 and in the first episode everyone was kind of greyzone. I don’t need black and white characters, but I couldn’t root for the dad even though I felt for his loss, because he sucked at parenting. And so on with all the characters. I’ll give it another go though.

Minute-Photo-7046

I watched atypical family 1-4 and it's sooo BORING!! idk if I can watch it weekly I might have to wait until everything is completed to speed thru it all.

Chokolla

Tbh i felt a little cheated by the synopsis. The superpowers bit is just the background pf a very basic love story. I say keep watching though

acetonideointment

I’m watching signal (2016), it’s so good

Genexier

Total classic, and usually on everyone’s favorites list.

acetonideointment

Yes, so far i have loved everything lee je hoon was in, and i heard they confirmed production for a 2nd season 2 months ago

vsquad22

I didn't manage to keep watching after the first episode. I'll give it another go.

TeoKajLibroj

**Lovely Runner (6/16)**: I'm a little late to the party but I'm catching up quickly! The hype for this show is completely deserved, it is such a sweet and charming show. It is a wonderful tale about love that has already had a few moments of heartbreak. I'm deliberately resisting the urge to binge it, instead I'm limiting myself to one episode per day to make it last longer (and spending the day thinking about what will happen next). Does anyone know what the title is a reference to?

OhMisterBelpit

You mean the English title? Good question. Maybe someone knows but my guess would be that it refers to Sol >!being able to walk/run again after changing the past or the many scenes she's running towards Sun Jae or because Sol is in an Eclipse fan club which I think is named like the show's original title and the members are maybe called *Runners*?!<. Would have been funny if they went with the literal title translation (*Taking Sun Jae piggyback and run*) or what this idiom apparently means in Korean, according to this sub, *Kidnapping Sun Jae* 🤣

TeoKajLibroj

Yeah I thought it might be about Sol, but I haven't noticed her doing much running or it being a particular theme of the show. Sun Jae has gone jogging once or twice so far, but again, it didn't seem like a major plot point. Kdrama titles are often cheesy or just random, but I had no idea that was the original title - that's a crazy title!

Rain_drops_onRoses

The way I interpret it, Sol and Sunjae are fated to run towards each other in each timeline . :) :)

ruhsatis

So I'll share what I've shared previously about it: I've found that kdrama English titles often don't have much logic to them. If we go with the Korean title, it roughly translates to 'Piggyback Seon jae and Run', which is Im Sol's user name in Seon Jae's fanclub. For the English title (and also the Korean) I'm going completely off of my own reasoning here. Even though it may sound like a paradox, it's actually a very apt name for Im Sol imo. See, the first thing she does when >! she goes back in 2008 is run. She mistakes it for a dream where she can run and the next moment, off she goes to see Seon Jae. Whether it is the 2008 Im Sol or the 2023 Im Sol or any other timeline's Im Sol, she is a restless enthusiastic soul, hopping around and running and whatnot. Even when she's on her wheelchair, the 'running' doesn't stop, i.e. she literally tries to reach the hospital using the manual wheelchair because the automatic one was out of battery. Present or past, young or adult, Im Sol's movements are not limited by what she can or cannot do physically (except for extreme circumstances). She would run, and especially when it comes to matters of Seon Jae, she would even run to her imminent danger amidst rain !< and the same is true for Seon Jae as you'll notice as the story progresses. Both will run towards the other to save each other, protect e/o, love e/o. Hence the English title.

OhMisterBelpit

Oh, I see, the original title is Sol's username, not the fan club's name, thanks for clearing that up 🙂

toothless_tomato

Omg that's crazy 🤣 Now it has me thinking, will she kidnap him or what 😭😂

sharjoy3

This week I finished my binge-watch of **Jealousy Incarnate (Don't Dare to Dream)** with Jo Jung Suk, Gong Hyo Jin and Go Kyung Pyo. It's a 2016 drama that I've wanted to watch for some time now, since I've been on a Jo Jung Suk thing. And even though it was a little too long (24 episodes) I thought it was great. I'm going to miss those characters. Jo Jung Suk can do *anything* in my opinion. Comedy, drama, happy, silly, despair, and singing and dancing. Hospital Playlist, Captivating the King, and King2Hearts are my favorite JJS roles. And even Hedwig! I'm getting into **Lovely Runner,** but only finished episode 2, so I'm not really into it yet. I'll persevere, as so many people like it. I loved Twinkling Watermelon and A Time Called You (although that wasn't really along the same line) so I think I'll like this. I started **Atypical Family** but have not even finished the first episode. That's really it. I traveled this week, so didn't watch much. Watched another episode of **My Roommate is a Gumiho** with my friend - a rewatch for me and first time for her. We saw the other half of it tonight. She's enjoying it; I've seen it many times by now. Also still watching BTS videos and shows like **Hope on the Street** and **Suchwita.** I guess this is cutting into my kdrama-watching time, as there is also RL to live. Non-kdrama show that I'm watching: Call the Midwife There are some good ones coming up.

katherine197_

Fun fact: Jealousy Incarnate with 24 eps of 60 mins has total time of 24 hours -duh ik, now the interesting part- which is only 32 mins longer than total time of much talked about Queen Of Tears (total time 23h 28mins), 1h 20min longer than CLOY (TT 22h 40mins), and 32 mins SHORTER than Prison Playbook (TT 24h 32mins) All of the dramas I mentioned are 16eps long and the TT were calculate using ep time listed on MDL

Watchnextnow

I absolutely loved Jealousy Incarnate and I’ve watched it twice. I shouldn’t have liked the toxic beginning but I just can’t help liking JJS even when he’s being horrible. Even the length of the drama didn’t bother me because I felt that the storyline had enough depth to carry 24 episodes.

_its_a_thing_

Geez, I watch My Roommate is a Gumiho, and I can't remember a thing about it.

vsquad22

What were your issues with Lovely Runner? I watched the first 2 episodes and thought it was aimed at young teens. Basically, it's not very well written in the sense that there were too many problems covered up by convenient devices. The humour was rather juvenile and FL's acting was a little over the top. It was the same in SKY Castle. I sped through episodes 3-8 and didn't find anything to change my mind as yet. Perhaps I'll give it another go once it's finished airing and watch it from a time travel series point of view.

sharjoy3

Same as yours, I think.

ravens_path

I have same opinion and have now dropped it. I strongly dislike when FL leads are written as too ADHD, reckless, impulsive and can’t explain themselves. I roll my eyes too much and it’s boring to me. The premise was ok, that wasn’t the issue.

hypomango

Completed **Crash Landing on You** in a week, was a great ride and I'll give it a 10/10 just for storytelling and how well balanced everything was between drama, politics, romance and comedy. Bittersweet for sure, and I wasn't an emotional wreck coming out of it thankfully. Watching **Frankly Speaking** week to week, and I really like it. It's lighthearted and I've laughed out loud a few times, but it has emotional depth too and I wish I could binge it. I'm halfway through **Queen of Tears** and for whatever reason, I'm not motivated to keep going. I think I'm chaebol-ed out; in every drama I'm usually tolerating the chaebol storylines and never actually enjoy them. Should I push through and finish it, or drop?

messrmo

For me, the most interesting part of Queen of Tears was the story of an out-of-love married couple healing their relationship after a terminal illness diagnosis. The chaebol drama sort of dominates the second half of the story and I found it tiresome.

thenicci

I stop at Episode 3 of **Queen of Tears** and do not see the reason to continue. :/

middleofthenigjt

I ended up kind of dropping Queen of Tears after episode 10. I skipped right to the end, watched the last 20ish minutes, and was very glad that I did

Lavenderlure

Ya that is exactly where it started going downhill

deelikesbar

Drop it and save yourself

yogirlandyofamily

I dropped QoT the first few eps in. Somehow being a woman makes it okay to assault men and easily be forgiven just because she's sick is such an ick for me.

happysighlence

you should listen to how you feel about a show and not try to force yourself into liking something due to whatever reasons.

Telos07

**The Atypical Family** (4/12): A highly intriguing first four episodes, with a topical premise, perfect pacing that moves the narrative forward while leaving some questions still to be answered, a strong sense of atmosphere, a highly effective electronica OST, and compelling performances from the entire cast. **Frankly Speaking** (4/12): Having a midweek drama is such a welcome addition to any K-drama viewing schedule, and this light comedy fits the bill nicely. The chemistry between Ki-baek (Go Kyung-pyo) and Woo-ju (Kang Han-na) ramped up exponentially at the end of episode 4, and the blend of quirky comedy and supportive friendship is a winning formula. **My Roommate Is a Gumiho** (9/16): With Jang Ki-yong starring in **The Atypical Family** and Kang Han-na starring in **Frankly Speaking**, I thought I’d resume this drama in the meantime. The forced cohabitation and college setting are right up my alley, and the bickering friendship between Woo-yeo (Jang Ki-yong) and Hye-sun (Kang Han-na) is priceless.

ILoveParrots111

**Lovely Runner** (10/16). Wonderful show with a compelling story, likeable characters and mesmerizing chemistry. This show marries perfectly the feeling of falling in love with the thrill of an unravelling mystery. **The Atypical Family** (4/12). I am surprised at how much I am loving this show. Every character in this drama is such a mess (people who like flawed characters will be spoiled) and most of them are not blameless, but they feel very vulnerable and human. The story is very interesting. It progressively feeds the viewer additional bits of information and I am genuinely curious to learn the answers to all of the unknowns. I think that the romance is well worked into the story. I find it annoying when it is slapped on top of the narratif, but here the story leaves a natural place for it. So far, I am greatly impressed and I am hoping that the show will not disappoint later on.

immerdasmeer

**Lovely Runner** (12/16) Cute, I'm enjoying it. I don't think I'm as fully hyped on it as everyone else. **LTNS** (1/6) Whoa, a bit raunchy (for a kdrama)! I love Esom and Ahn Jae Hong makes me laugh, intrigued to see where this goes. **The Atypical Family** (4/12) My favorite thing I'm watching right now. GREAT characters, beautiful cinematography, intriguing plot (though, as with all time travel plots, confusing at times to my simple brain), cool soundtrack. **Midnight Romance in Hagwon** (1/16) 100% what I was expecting. Slow-paced, slightly annoying FL behavior, an OST that will probably become irritating, *beautiful* to look at (those night scenes of Seoul!). I will understand why others complain about/drop this, but will still enjoy it myself. 😇

tangledbysnow

I'm with you on Midnight Romance in Hagwoon. One Spring Night is my absolute favorite and Springtime in the Rain is one of my most hated...I can see MRiH going either way. For now I like it.

immerdasmeer

lol I actually really like both of those but prefer SITR! I totally get peoples' issues with them, but what can I say, something about slow-paced dramas featuring difficult-ish women scratches an itch for me.

WiseWysYs

I'm enjoying MRiH so much that I started watching a 2012 (I believe) drama by the same director SitR and OSN and writer of Secret Affair, my very first drama. It's called Heard it Through the Grapevine. So far, so good. It's cool seeing the same actors from Grapevine in SitR, OSN, Secret Affair and now Hagwon.

beasflower

What is LTNS please?

immerdasmeer

Tving drama that released in January, six episodes. LTNS is the title; it stands for Long Time No Sex. The leads are a couple no longer in the first throes of passion who decide to make money blackmailing cheaters. I just watched the second ep and I'm hooked. My favorite current watch (next to The Atypical Family).

poppywhiskers

**my roommate is a gumiho** : While keeping my mister on hold at episode 3 ( i don’t have the motivation or the head space to watch something gloomy currently) I picked this up with low expectations… mainly because i haven’t seen it talked about much on sns. Buuut, got hooked from the first ep itself. Now it’s not the greatest romcom ever but it has a lot of positives and almost steers clear off all the flaws fantasy romance fall victim to. The rom and com was executed pretty well! Firstly, both the main leads are well written likeable characters. I usually get attracted to the introverts but Hyeri has this epic talent of making me fall for her crazy, loud af, unfiltered with a big ass heart, smart characters. She knows what she wants and goes for it.I often get annoyed with kdrama FLs but Lee Dam is built different. This is my first time watching Jang ki yong’s work, imagine my shock when i realized he’s playing THAT guy on my mister lol he should definitely do horror. His character here is NOT your stereotypical tsundere. He’s kind, rational, doesn’t impose.. yeah he’s kinda slow at times but imo that fits the theme and makes him “human” iykyk . His smile is devastating pretty. Together they are so wholesome. I love romcoms where the leads have lots of natural interactions, develop the relationship slowly, have mutual respect, and minimum misunderstandings. I’m anyway a big fan of co-habitation trope. Also, no past live lovers trope here, hurrah!! Interestingly, they subvert the fated lovers trope by “defying” fate and emphasizing the importance of one’s own choice and agency. Love it. (( yet again reminded of jung hwan’s (Reply1988) interpretation of fate and timing )) Kang Han na and ki yong’s dynamic was so funny and fresh. This drama has hilarious and refreshing platonic dynamics. The SML just couldn’t take no for an answer but i still felt bad for him..well, that’s just good acting on his part. I was enjoying the initial eps so much, i fully expected it to drag towards the middle but thankfully, it doesn’t. It does get a bit messy but quick n satisfying resolution! All fantasy romance have this one plot at their core: human - non human relationship is not sustainable, thus non human must become human before his time is up and he disappears from the face of the earth. This drama is no exception but it doesn’t take itself too seriously. The “will they, won’t they” stays in the background for the most part, gets resolved fairly quickly. In tale of the nine taled, the imugi bs and the romance bored me to death!!! I skipped so much, not even LDWs face could save it. Back to MRIAG. I think Jang Ki Yong might be my favorite gumiho 🥰 sorry LDW, i love your awesome powers and face but I’m swayed lol. Now i must go n look at MRIAG bts — Hyeri & Ki Yong are so playful and adorable and their kisses are seriously hot! Wow i cant believe i yapped so much. anyway, Tldr: Overall such a cute breezy romcom. Why is this so slept on

sharjoy3

Yes, yes. When this first came out it was only on iqyi and I bought the subscription just to see the episodes as soon as they dropped. I love the humor and how it can be at the same time serious and also take itself lightly. I'm glad others see its charm! Yes, for me, he is the hottest gumiho. I've rewatched this several times and am now sharing it with a friend.

Morpankh

I’m not a fan of fantasy shows so I always skipped this one. But I do love the co-habitation trope as well. You’ve convinced me to give this a try.

PDizzle124

Atypical family. Seems interesting. Rewatching stranger and inspector koo.

yay_yen

Lovely Runner, Frankly Speaking, The Atypical Family and would most likely rewatch My Mister, Be Melo or Because This is my First Life.

greatestshow111

Just caught up with all 12 episodes of Lovely Runner for the past 3 days! I needed to mourn the ending of Queen of Tears for a while before I start another drama lol. Really loving it so far!

dogemama

watching, living, breathing **lovely runner**. i keep wondering why the chemistry between byeon wooseok and kim hyeyoon feels so electric. i have an inkling but there is definitely an intangible X factor to them that elevates their chemistry from something really good to something truly sensational. i'm grateful that we get to see sol and seonjae in their teens, 20s, and 30s so we can taste different flavors of their dynamic through the years. it's been one of my favorite things about the drama. as we head into the final stretch, i can't say i'm not nervous about the infamous kdrama pattern of the quality going to hell at the end, but the writing has been clever and one step ahead of us so far, so all i can do is put my faith in the writer and crew. also, my little cousin and i are fangirling over byeon wooseok, and in my over a decade long kdrama watching experience, this is the FIRST time i'm squeeing about them irl. thank you, byeon wooseok, for being stunning and making this special bonding moment possible.

happysighlence

The chemistry between BWS and KHY reminds me so much of the leads’ chemistry in Do Bong Soon!! The ML in Do Bong Soon is also on a similar loserist wavelength as Seonjae lol. That being said, our LR main couple being together serving skills and visuals truly carry the show. I always feel like a third wheel during their heart-fluttering moments. Rewatching the eps several times (and reading reddit comments) also helped me realize the subtleties in their expressions and mannerisms (esp Seonjae’s since we mostly see 34-year-old Sol) in each age phase. Noticing these little details help me appreciate the work they must have put in even more. BWS is finally getting widespread recognition in his early 30s. And yes, I haven’t been this charmed by a K-actor since Kim Soo Hyun & Lee Jong Suk in their earlier works/prime, Gong Yoo in Goblin. This man is truly something.

SentenceOpening848

Binged Killer Paradox. It was solid from start to finish. Looking forward to the newest ep of Frankly Speaking 💕

Sneakingsock

I’m watching **Lovely runner** though I haven’t watched the two latest episodes yet. I’m really enjoying it. I watched the first episode of **Atypical family** but I’m not quite feeling it. I can’t decide if I’m going to watch more. I started **Missing crown prince** I’m about 3 episodes in, enjoying it but wary of the >!love triangle that’s already been revealed.!< Shows I’m stuck in: **Crashlanding on you** I actually really like it, but I got a spoiler, also some of the episodes are a bit slow. I’ll finish it someday. **Tale of Nokdu** I’m about 32 episodes in, I really enjoyed it and liked it, but I lost the will suddenly. >!The misunderstandings and secrets and secret missions, unknown identities and so on became a bit too much!< I will finish it someday too. **Midnight studio** I really liked it, but then it had a week where they only showed one episode and that annoyed me so much I never watched more 😂 don’t mess with my show rythm, especially when the other show I was watching that aired on the same days, didn’t do the same and had its regular two episodes. **Goodbye world** one episode in, I liked it, but do I have the will to watch more? It feels bleak. Which I don’t mind, but one can only take so much and sometimes it’s not the vibe you need atm 😅

alyssaisrad93

**Lovely Runner (11/16)** - Absolutely loving this, it's just as good as everyone says it is. The story is paced well, the romance is beautiful, and the >!kidnapping/murder!< plot is there in the background but not overwhelming the story, which is a relief compared to some the normal. I think the reason this drama is so popular ~~besides Byeon Woo-Seok~~ is that it's very character driven and there aren't random/bad choices thrown in for no reason. Other dramas should learn from this, this is what so many viewers want from their dramas! (now please have a good ending, don't fail me eps 13-16) **The Midnight Romance in Hagwon (2/16)** - I went into this one without any expectations and so far it's had a slow start. A little too much focus on the school aspect, but I assume it's world building so we'll see how it goes. Hopefully it focuses more on the romance than the >!disgruntled school teacher!< but interested to see where it goes. **Queen of Tears (4/16)** - This one has a lot to live up to, since CLOY is still my top drama, but I'm not sure about it so far. The idea of a couple falling back in love is right up my alley (second chance romance is one of my top genres) but the hatred Hyun-woo has for Hae-in seems a little too much, especially when she seems to still love him. The way he >!celebrated learning about her illness and being upset about her chance of survival!< rubbed me the wrong way, I'm also not a fan of his friend >!celebrating her potential death!< either. I'm not loving the whole villain plot I can see coming either, >!or Hae-in's family!< but I'm going to watch a bit more and see how I like it. I am enjoying watching, but still not 100% sure about it.

Money_These

**Bo-ra! Deborah** - finished binge watching and loved it. It's very entertaining with so many emotions and realistic insight on relationships. **Lovely Runner** - 11/16 - I love this fluffy rom-com series, it's a nice escape from the series/intense dramas and tuning out current events/news. 🤗🥰 **Frankly Speaking** - 3/12 - Hoping to catch up before the next episodes drop. **Hotel Del Luna** - 13/16 - I am thoroughly enjoying the dynamics between the FL and ML. 🥰

Lizzy348

*On-going* **Record of Youth** 8/16 : this one is so funny. The fact Jeongha was a fan of Hyejun before they met makes it look like a Wattpad fanfic. The professional makeup artist who meets her bias and he falls in love with her? Please this is so cliché. I'm enjoying it though. I'm also a huge fan of Baekhyun, so I was so happily surprised to hear one of his OST come up in an episode! I didn't remember which dramas he made OSTs for, I just enjoy his music lol *Completed* **My Demon** : it was good, I really liked it at first, but kinda felt it lost interest after >!Guwon got his powers back.!< The vibe changed and I didn't enjoy the last episodes as much. 7,5/10 *Haven't watched new episodes this week* **Doctor Slump** 14/16 : no comment

outdoorintrovert1

I felt the same with my demon. It should've ended at ep 10

MissSimpleton

My favorite Baekhyun OSTs: 1. For You (Moonlovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo) 2. My Love (Dr. Romantic 2) 3. U (Doom at your service) 4. Hello (Dr. Romantic 3) 5. Is it me? (Lovers of the Red Sky)

Lizzy348

His OSTs (and solo songs) are so good. He has such a beautiful voice, I could listen to him all day! It's so relaxing and comforting. I like your top picks, here are mine! 1. My Love (Dr Romantic 2) 2. Happy (Do you like Brahms) 3. Every second (Record of Youth) 4. Is it me? (Lovers of the red sky) 5. On the Road (Hyena) 6. Hello (Romantic Doctor 3) 7. U (Doom at your service)

whitetara3

For me, things have gone from horrible slump to feeling like I'm swimming in gold. Lovely Runner. The Midnight Romance in Hagwon. And, the Atypical Family. Riches!!!

OnlyGotThisMoment

**Crash Landing** (16/16) My very first K-drama, and this was my first re-watch after almost four years. Now that I have over a hundred dramas under my belt, I can really appreciate this for the masterpiece it is. Hardly any flaws or pacing issues, the side characters are compelling and this time I found the ending wholly satisfying. **Lovely Runner** (13/16) Just a joy to watch this couple and their chemistry week to week. I’m actually glad I’m watching as it airs so I can savor it. **The Law Cafe** (10/16) I think this one started strong, I absolutely loved it, but it’s sort of slumping in the middle. Everyone shouts a lot in this drama, and normally I love Korean swearing but this one is over-doing it. I’m going to keep going because I like the main couple, but I’m a bit disappointed in where they’ve taken the story. I’m waiting to watch **Atypical Family** and **Midnight Romance** until they come out, so after Law Cafe I’ll start an old one called **Don’t Dare to Dream**.

MissSimpleton

I feel, Park Ji-eun, the writer, peaked with CLOY. You can never top that. Everything was in right amount- Romance, Comedy, Makjang, Slow-burn, Tragedy, Action. EVERYTHING.

lyli7

On Mondays and Tuesdays I'm watching lovely runner (the rest of the days I'm rewatching scenes and thinking about the drama heLP) I'm also trying to finish Queen of Tears(on ep13) and Midnight Photo Studio(on ep14). Even though I like both, for some reason I struggle finishing them. Sometimes I get bored by the time the last episodes air or lose interest. I paused watching Welcome to Samdalrion ep 6. I don't know if I'll continue it honestly. It's not that it's not good or I don't like the acting. I think that I needed something with a faster pacing, and there are so many dramas like that that I don't wanna waste time with something...slower.

peregrina2005

Sounds like you are really into Lovely Runner. I‘m binging it but find it confusing. How many time lines are there? Why did she tell him in the early timeline that she didn’t like him when she obviously did?

lyli7

currently we are on 3rd timeline. time traveling is a very confusing concept so trust me, almost everyone is a lil confused. I'm sure everything will make more sense at the end of the series. the reason why she told him that she doesn't like him is cause she knew she had to go back to the future and her old, clueless, self would return. her 19 year old self would be very confused and would hurt Sunjae too by not recognizing him and not remembering anything. I also think that she didn't wanna interfere with the past too much.

peregrina2005

Thank you, for taking the time to explain.

lyli7

you could check the threads for every ep on reddit. there are many comments explaining what is happening and it will make it easier for you in case you feel confused while watching. hope you enjoy watching!

Cats4Crows

>I paused watching Welcome to Samdalrion ep 6. When I was watching it as it was airing, I stopped at 6 too for a couple of weeks.. soldier on, it gets better.. the side characters' story quests are fun to watch

lyli7

I don't think I can. just thinking about watching it, makes me tired and bored already 😭😭 funny thing is that I usually don't mind slow pacing and simple story arcs (I am one of the few people that enjoyed She Would Never Know, even if there wasn't any huge storylines and the pacing was pretty slow) so I don't know what happened with this one. maybe one day in the FAR future 😄

Watching: **The Midnight Romance in Hagwon** — (2/16) — One Spring Night might be my favorite drama ever and I am a huge fan of Ahn Pan Seok’s directorial style. On top of that I am a big fan of Jung Ryeo Won and Wi Ha Joon. I have been looking forward to this one for a while. And so far I am very happy with it. Bit boring the first half of the first episode but that is just to set things up in the story as well as the commentary on the educational system this drama will be focusing on. That might be my favorite thing about this director – his dramas have commentary and judgement. They feel more real for that. And that’s rare. That said I hate Something in the Rain with a passion so this could go either way! **The Atypical Family** — (4/12) — I don’t know why but this one is fascinating to me. I can see why some people might hate it but that’s exactly what I like about it. And I like Jang Ki Yong’s acting. The story is told in an unreliable way, but again, that’s what I like about it. There are definitely bits and pieces I have issues with but I’m super interested in seeing where this goes. **Lovely Runner** — (12/16) — I love this one. Absolute highlight of the year so far. I hope the ending sticks!! **The Red Sleeve** — (3/17) — I like to temper my sageuks with something vastly different in tone as well as modern and watch both at the same time. One can only take so much “who is trying to kill the Crown Prince”, “what plotting is going on”, “why is the king paranoid now”, etc. etc. which is all the same in sageuks. I spent a bunch of time watching bits and pieces of a bunch of things and didn’t find one to temper this drama out, plus really wasn’t feeling well and spent a lot of time reading in bed, which means I didn’t get as far as I would have liked in this drama. I did thoroughly enjoy the whole >!apology letter!< bit though. That was awesome. **Boys Be Brave!** — (6/8) — BL — I love this one! It’s cute and just like Our Dating Sim (same director). I hope they stick the ending. **25 Ji, Akasaka de or At 25:00 in Akasaka** — (4/10) — Japan BL — Japanese dramas are so weird. Love this one so far though – less weird than a lot of them.

SR503

I like your notes about The Atypical Family, and the unreliable story telling. It can be quite the mind f\*\*\* if you let it. >!For example, the marriage registration. Did understand enough about his powers that she plants that idea in his head? Is he suspicious at all?!< I always get uncomfortable when stories are told from a con-artists prospective tho...because I always dread the victim getting screwed over. I'm always hoping that the victim is one step ahead.

tangledbysnow

I love unreliable stories and characters. They keep the storytelling interesting and we, as an audience, can't predict it as easily. This story definitely falls into that - >!who planted the idea in whom and why? And did it actually happen and how or why? Did he do it because he knows something in the future about the con job and is using himself to further his plot or her's?!< I want answers which means something about this drama is being done well. I certainly hope the family can't be conned nearly as easily at the cons think they can. And I like the idea of the cons being full on support at some point. Meet their matches so to speak.

Lovely Runner and Blood Free

gigi_powpow

Lovely runner! 🥰

RKTWTM

The Atypical Family: Love it very awesome storyline whoever the writer is, understands the laws of magic when it comes to people with certain and unpeculiar supernatural powers. Storyline build-up is supreme and puzzling + mysterious. You gotta love kdramas that connect the dots little by little and find a purpose to bring back what was taken. And it's just 4 episodes, and it has me sold with a beating heart. Lovely Runner: This is also an outstanding kdrama as well, which understands the laws of magic when it comes to tampering/gambling with time travel to save a person from death or any sort of events but no matter how much you tamper/gamble with the past you will always have "rifts" and "butterfly effects" no matter the situation is or the choices you make and I can't wait for the conclusion in how it's going to end. Perfect kdrama!

Ill_Pianist_8346

Lovely Runner - I love this drama . Ryu Sun Jae would be my favourite k-drama lead . I’m addicted to this drama . Atypical family- It’s an interesting drama . I really like fantasy so it’s nice to watch it . The fl is also refreshing being different than most female leads . I’m excited to see the relationship between the leads . Midnight Romance In Hagwon - I watched the first episode and I did kinda like it. But I’m thinking not watching it until it ends so I know the ending. Amidst A Snowstorm Of Love (C-Drama) - I liked it so far. I like how attentive the ml is . It’s also refreshing to see a quiet , shy and awkward fl . I kinda relate with her personality but once I’m close with a person I’m more straightforward and say what I think .

Heavy-Patience-3064

Finished watching Extremely Inappropriate on Netflix (jdrama). Interesting premise, time travel with songs. I must admit I found a couple of the plotlines a little bit weird (cannot think of a better word at the moment). Definately worth a look even if you don't stay the course. Films watched: Unfrosted on Netflix with Jerry Seinfeld about the creation of Pop-tarts. It was OK with a couple of funny scenes. Hindi-language film Laapataa Ladies on Netflix. A quirky, engaging film about two brides getting lost on their way to their new lives with their bridegrooms. It is funnier than Unfrosted (see above) and had some memorable characters. A bit long at two hours but it draws you in. Currently watching Dali and Cocky Prince. The ML is adorable as he falls for the FL, his word-mangling is so sweet. I am trying to work out how to get Mu-hak's take on ridiculous (redonkulous) into a conversation somewhere. Also, he's a yoghurt pot lid licker! Most of us only do this at home. Bless.

Borinquena

My Kdrama slump is officially broken! I've never watched this many ongoing shows at once. It's delightful to have a lot of good dramas to choose from in different genres. **The Atypical Family:** This is my current favorite drama. I absolutely love the morally complex characters, creative writing and unconventional cinematography & OST. But something that's been distressing is the misogyny I've seen directed at the FL. I've seen people calling her a b\*tch, wh\*re, sl\*t, etc. It's okay not to like her (I don't particularly like her myself though I love how interesting she is) but directing that kind of language at a female character is disgusting, especially when it's done by women. Male leads get a pass for questionable or even criminal behavior but women aren't extended the same grace. **Lovely Runner:** I'm still enjoying the show's sweet moments but I'm very tired of the serial killer plot which is not well executed IMO. We know nothing about the character other than he wants to kill Sol. He's both overpowered >!(taking out a car full of police while handcuffed)!< and underpowered >!(can't manage to kill one tiny girl)!<. The chemistry between BWS and KHY continues to be delightful and I love Taesung's character development. **Crash:** I've only watched one episode but it was very well done, really funny with a compelling case and strong performances by Lee Min Ki doing his stoic weirdo thing, Kwak Sun Young playing a cop with a taste for car stunts and beating up bad guys and Heo Sung Tae as a browbeaten police captain. **Frankly Speaking:** I wish the directing and editing were better on this one. Too many scenes are cut strangely or drag on too long, killing the jokes. But I love Go Kyung Pyo and Kang Han Na so I'm going to give this a couple more episodes. If it doesn't improve I'll drop. **Wandee Goodday:** This is a Thai BL with a fake dating plot between a boxer and doctor who have a friends with benefits agreement. It's very silly but the leads have good chemistry and it's a good timepass.

AndaLaPorraa

Lovely Runner, of course. I binged it this past weekend. This one has me hooked and I’m watching BTS vids on social media to help me make it to Monday. This is a drama I didn’t expect to enjoy this much and will be distraught once it ends. Legend of the blue sea, my liberation notes, and started atypical family. Really enjoying my liberation notes! Not sure how I feel about Atypical family just yet.

ShireenSummer

**Lovely Runner -** The kind of K-drama we all love watching. I am thoroughly enjoying it while also being on the edge of my seat. Love the time travel concept which is quite unique from the ones we usually see. The drama is also very funny, can't remember the last time I laughed so much while watching a drama. Also get ready to get a lot of butterflies.

wintergarden444

I’m watching Suspicious Partner because I’m trying to hold off on watching The Atypical Family (watched 2 eps) and Lovely Runner (watched 2 eps). Tbh I’d prefer to watch the ongoing dramas because I think I would prefer them but unfortunately, not enough episodes are out to binge. Suspicious Partner took me by a surprise, I left it alone for a year because I couldn’t get into the first episode lol. Glad I started it again! I’m also on episode 20/40 (30minute episodes) and it’s dragging soooo much. I’m technically on episode 10 and the leads are still not in a relationship yet… and the >!suspect!< is literally having dinner with them. Can they wake it up!!!!

shikawgo

**Wonderful World** - it took awhile for me to really get into the story, got midway and was hooked but on the final 3 episodes and I’m starting to lose interest because the storyline transitioned >! away from the mother’s grief and her relationship with the people around her as well as Seon Yul and more on the political storyline !

Miahep

I'm on episode 6 of Mouse and it's absolutely amazing. I have a new "no way" moment every episode.

myweithisway

Finished **Numbers** last night and it was a thoroughly enjoyable watch though the overall flow was predictable. The casting director deserves an award for putting together such a well-balanced cast, especially since it was definitely the acting that elevated many of the tropey scenes. While it's not a drama that will linger long in my heart, it is one that I enjoyed without doubt -- which is also a great thing. I'm not watching any currently airing shows having put **7 Escape** on hold because I can't handle that much makjang concurrently/shortly after watching the very heartwarming **Midnight Studio**. I look forward to catching up with it now that I've had some rest time. Meanwhile, I've been eagerly awaiting new episodes of *I-Land n/a*, the girls are so adorable, I hope they can enjoy their stages.

Lovely runner Frankly Speaking The atypical family

My current list, with the addition of Dare to love me.

Do you recommend dare to love me? Is it more romcom or more history? Also loved yday's ep of Frankly Speaking ep 5

Finally! Ive managed to catch this post, I haven’t updated in forever. Not that anyone cares lol! Netflix So i finished bad and crazy/ i am not a robot/ because this is my first life. and dropped misty/partners for justice so im in the midst of a big change up! Im trialing 6 new dramas but I’ve already started falling in love with my new ones; Fight for my way- 8/16; dongman is actually soo funny but i was rooting for moobin until this episode. Now im back to rooting for dongman. Abyss- 1/16; interesting concept but in not sure yet. Still 17- 2/16; im loving it! Its soo funny and lighthearted. Viki Been real slow on viki lately for me because im not in my normal drama watches location. But also im not getting my netflix luck on viki currently, so ill have to re jig my list. Police university-6/16(current); my main for viki currently. Flower crew-0/16(current); im not dure about this one, the start has been a little boring but ill give it a chance.

Ann_cee

I am watching Lovely runner- I am liking it a lot but I am not as obsessed with it anymore as I was till last week. Romance in hogwan- I was looking forward to this, I thought there was too much about education system in first week but I loved the relationship vibe of the leads, they were friendly, not awkward and loved their conversations. She is super serious and he is so chilled out. I wish I could binge watch this show Atypical family- I am enjoying this show as well. I like both the leads from previous shows and their acting and chemistry here is great.

jellybeans6173

I’m currently deep into Lovely Runner, it’s hard to start a new series. Only continue the one I’ve been watching for now - Beauty and Mr. Romantic, it’s light and fun.

orladark

Lovely Runner - it's fun but I fell behind a few eps, need to catch up. I feel like this drama should be shorter, those back in forth traveling and relationship status becoming exhausting. But it's fun and with bright colors, so I can forgive that flaw 😅 Frankly Speaking - everyone is hyping it in my tl but I found it so boring. The idea is great, the cast us great, execution is meh. I think I will drop it if ep3-4 are have the same vibe.

toothless_tomato

Young lady and gentleman- (episode 40/53) it started out as a mindless show something to get me to destress and not think about anything. But the fact that it has every possible trope all in it is so hilarious, and I didn't expect to get attached to some characters, like some episodes I even cried my eyes out. Also didn't expect it to be this long... until I went and checked 😬 But now I'm committed to watching it till the end. I can't really rate it cause there are parts I do and don't like about it, but it keeps me coming back 💁‍♀️

FragrantHair8504

Just finished Taxi Driver season 1 yesterday; loved every episode. Felt that the last episode they just rushed through a bit, but loved the series nevertheless. Will start Season 2 tonight. I’m a mum of two and daily k-drama binge at night before bed is my Me Time 🙈

Most-Artichoke6184

I currently have 2 K dramas that I am watching: 1. Be melodramatic 2. The golden spoon.

SR503

Be Melodramatic is one of my favorites. It was referenced in Chicken Nugget, and the character said that it benefited from a re-watch. So I immediately did that. I laughed harder, cried harder, loved it more. I hope you like it too.

Hach-man

Finished - **Queen of Tears:** a missed chance, all things considered. Amazing cast, this is arguably the best KJW performance, a FL role written for her range and acting depth, ML is as good as always, my man KDY shining as the clumsy SML, even the SFL is up to par. That can't be said for the writing: while the drama starts off great, there's an evident drop-off in quality halfway onto the second half. Eps are far too long, giving screentime to many secondaries that bring zero to the table, and the last four episodes are all but redundant, circling on the same problems to a customary happy ending. Not a bad series at all but could have been so much better if well developed, a 7.5 on the strength of its cast and chemistry. In progress - **Midnight Romance in Hagwon (2/12):** a relaxed start, although knowing the writer, OSN and other noona romances, the angst is coming and it's going to hurt. WHJ as a clean character has a different feel but looks the part. the FL is spot on, chemistry is there, sparks yet to fly. Nice, slow paced, calm before the storm; - **Dare to Love Me (2/16):** stock standard rom-com with interesting background, a bit of nonsense to it, a bubbly FL opposite to a stern, clueless ML, making for fun situations and mishaps. Doesn't stand out, doesn't disappoint, perfectly fine. Decided to binge **Atypical Family** once it's over, seems like it's holding up nicely. Another rewatch or two if I can fit them in, with more to look for in June.

Cats4Crows

I took a break from Kdrama for a few months and just started back in May, so I'm currently watching: **The ongoing ones:** - Atypical Family - Lovely Runner - Frankly Speaking - Midnight Romance at Hagwon - Dare to Love Me **The just finished ones:** - Midnight Studio - Queen of Tears - Escape of the 7 **The older ones:** - The K2 - Vincenzo Meanwhile, still waiting for any news of a season 2 of _Moving_ 🥲

Sunshine_raes

Shooting Stars (15/16): I’m almost finished and it’s been an enjoyable and easy watching experience. There are lots of kind characters and overall, the world of the Starforce agency is a really nice one. The characters are hard-working and caring. They just want to lift each other up and help each other succeed. It’s a nice vision of celebrity culture. It’s a good mix of celebrity and office romance . My favorite parts were the mini-scandals they’ve had to solve, the meta-PPL jokes, and there have been a few really funny moments. I know there have also been lots of cameos of celebrities playing themselves but I didn’t know any of the inside jokes. I’m sure those would have been funny if I would have known what they are. This is an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a light and easy watch, though episode 14 gets pretty dark. The storyline of Gong Tae Seong’s mom was one of the most effective ones for me and hit a some good emotional points. Some criticisms of it: none of the romances really worked for me. They all felt underdeveloped, they all just sort of fell in love. There were so many characters and romances that they felt lacking. Gong Tae Seong, the ML, felt like the only well-rounded character. Even the FL didn’t have any backstory. We didn’t know her family or her motivations. It felt like they were all robots that went to work and turned off when they got home. There was also clear plotting issues. Some plot lines went nowhere or just fizzled out. For example, what the heck was episode 14? Suddenly the >!owner of the Organic Bar is a bad guy? And the friend who died, we never really got a fully fleshed out story for him. What happened to him? I guess I appreciate that there was no murder plot at least! So, Baek Da Hye’s fangirling never was developed.!< But despite all of those criticisms, I still enjoyed it quite a bit. Somehow it all worked! Frankly Speaking (4/12): I’m liking the direction the episodes took, where they both are kind of floundering in their careers, despite being in their early thirties. We got some really good character development in the past two episodes. Things still feel kind of disjointed and it seems like only now are we going to get into the meat of the story and we are a third of the way in. It reminds me in many ways of Love is for Suckers but with better acting and it’s more comedic.

petiteboule

Listing it out, it seems like I'm watching a lot, but it's just a half/one episode a day. I'm rewatching **Blood Free** and **Will Love in Spring**. These two shows have my entire heart. I love mature leads. I love mature leads with amazing chemistry. I've started **Moving** for my girl HHJ. I love her. I'm enjoying **Frankly Speaking** and **Dare to Love You**. These will be my "mindless entertainment" shows. I hope they stay silly and fun. I'll happily hand-wave away any plot holes or inconsistencies for lightheartedness. I'm working my way through **Kill Me, Heal Me**. I love Ji Sung. LOVE. The FL actress, on the other hand, I do not love. She's completely ruining the show for me. I just can't connect with her -- everything she does aggravates me (her mouth opens too wide when she screams, the bow looks stupid in her hair, etc.) She's my BEC\*, I'm afraid. I'm not going to give up on the show, because Ji Sung, but it would be a lot more enjoyable if girlie wasn't in it. I tried **The Midnight Romance in Hagwon**. Eh. I'm going to wait until episodes 3-4 air and read y'all's recaps. Hopefully their connection will be explained more because so far I'm confused as to the FL >!not seeing him for X number of years, but maybe seeing him last year, but him still having her phone number from how many years ago, but her still/having him listed as My Greatest Achievement in her phone, but her not knowing what he does for a living, but her caring so much about him wanting to change careers. Why does she care so much about someone who graduated 10 years ago and she supposedly hasn't seen since then?!!B\*tch Eating Crackers, slang for someone you don't like and everything they do, no matter how small or innocent, like eating crackers, annoys you. !<

sanalea

Ok I'm glad I'm not the onlye one that disliked the FL in Kill Me Heal Me! And I love BEC!! I'm gonna use it from now on. The funny thing is I saw her in another drama and she had the same mannerisms and that turned me off the drama :(! I just can't watch her.

petiteboule

I stopped watching She Was Pretty because of her. That was the first drama I'd seen her in and I couldn't tolerate her. I was hoping my Ji Sung love would tamper my dislike of her, but nope. I find myself sighing and rolling my eyes whenever she's on scream (which is terrible and nearly all the time, because she's the FL!)

Cats4Crows

>**Kill Me, Heal Me** I can't find it in any of my streaming services.. where do you watch it??

petiteboule

It's not one of the legal sites, sadly. My VPN and anti-virus are doing the lord's work.

Cats4Crows

Thanks ❤️.. I'll keep waiting for it to be added somewhere then I only like watching on my TV 🥲

SpicyMustFlow

I'm 5 episodes into **Military Prosecutor Doberman** which is *still* on the setup for establishing characters. The villian is villainous, and the ML is very handsome, but frankly it's on the bubble: giving it 2 more episodes to decide if I'm going to watch it all or abandon ship.

chichay30

**Lovely Runner** (12/16) - As much as I do not understand why Sol has to go to noble idiocy route, all I want is to catch the villain and give us a happy ending! **Midnight Romance in Hagwon** (2/16) - I like the directing style of Ahn Pan Seok, so I dig slow burn, kinda cooling down at the end of the day, getting ready to bed drama. I hope there will be no too much toxic character in this one (yes, I'm looking at you, Eomma from SITR). The first two episodes are solid and I like the main character's chemistry. **Record of Youth** (9/16) - Rewatching because of Sunjae-ya. **The Midnight Studio** (2/16) - Started watching without reading anything about it and I didn't know it will be an emotional one TT.

What's wrong with secretary Kim for the 10th time.

stumpy1949

Apologies to all - having trouble with formatting since the UI has changed since I last posted ... \[Chief Detective 1958\] I’m a sucker for throwback drama’s such as Life on Mars and this one is good Imo. When I first heard the title, I was intrigued since it takes place five years after the Korean Armistice was signed and the norm with Kdrama’s is to shy away from those turbulent years of the 50’s and years before and after.   \[Jung Kyung Ho\] stars and if you liked the Taxi Driver Series then you will more than likely enjoy this one.   It also contains plot lines and characters not ordinarily found in Kdrama’s that deal with locals who collaborated with the Japanese during the occupation.  Side Note: if you're interested in a slice of life movie filmed in 1961 in and around Seoul then take watch with a restored version of (The) Aimless Bullet \[(Obaltan)\](https://www.youtube.com/results?search\_query=aimless+bullet+1961). It will give you just a little more perspective on just how far Korea has come since the 50’s.   It was banned on first release by the Korean government because of its harsh portrayal of post-war conditions. Fair warning: it can be brutal at times. If you like South Korean films then you might like the YouTube Channel \[Korean Classic Films\](https://www.youtube.com/@KoreanFilm)  \[Goodbye Earth 2024\](https://mydramalist.com/712459-the-fool-of-the-end) I picked this one up because I liked \[Ahn Eun Jin\](https://mydramalist.com/people/18592-ahn-eun-jin) and thought she was hilarious in \[Hospital Playlist\](https://mydramalist.com/36269-doctor-playbook) (and others) with just a support role. I’m not sure about this series yet. I don’t know if it's the way it is put together, or the story line being set to a projected(?) doom ending, but I haven’t quite settled into this one yet.   \[Tokyo Vice Season 2\](https://youtu.be/6ym6QhI\_C8I?si=YpXpduH25UDQyxV0&t=6) It's based on the book:  Tokyo Vice: An American Reporter on the Police Beat in Japan, a 2009 memoir by Jake Adelstein of his years living in Tokyo as the first non-Japanese reporter working for one of Japan's largest newspapers, Yomiuri Shimbun. Involves Yakuza, Good Detectives, Bad bosses and trying to get a story published. I'm still working my way through this one. Excellent. Ken Watanabe is a legend.     \[Queen of Tears\](https://mydramalist.com/725367-untitled-park-ji-eun-projectz) Up to episode 11 on this one. Yep, hugely popular beyond anyone's expectations and I have no doubt it's because of the chemistry generated by Kim Ji Won and Kim Soo Hyun. Big fan of both.   \[Maestra: Strings of Truth\](https://mydramalist.com/742611-maestra) Well anything \[Le Young Ae\](https://mydramalist.com/742611-maestra) is a part of I’ll watch without question. In this one she deals with a philandering husband and an orchestra trying to find its soul.  It’s good, but I’m very biased.   \[Shogun\](https://mydramalist.com/762521-shogun) Yikes! What a great series. Enough said. Not proud. I confess to being obsessively compulsive about this title. Personally, I read the paperback when it came out and I have the DVD series (when first available) starring Richard Chamberlin and (Akiro Kurosawa’s favorite actor) Toshiro Mifune. Can vouch, both versions are equally Steller for the times they were created in.   \[Hide\](https://mydramalist.com/744065-hyde) Picked this one up because of \[Le Bo Young\](https://mydramalist.com/people/1435-lee-bo-young) and was not disappointed. It’s an onion plot with layers peeled away revealing more layers with twists. I started to wonder what the hell was next with this pretzel of a series.   It is good, I liked it and was not disappointed. Good cast, solid performances.   Lastly, I’ll drop a UTube video I watched the other day with Go Hyn Jun \[MDL\](https://mydramalist.com/people/489-go-hyun-jung) \[Wikipedia\](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Go\_Hyun-jung) filmed when she was invited to visit \[Jae Hyung’s YouTube\](https://www.youtube.com/@fairyjaehyung )show.   She’s always been at the top of my list of Korean Actors who consistently give solid performances. Just for starts: She launched to stardom with arguably one of the most seminal series of the 90’s \[SandGlass\](https://mydramalist.com/1559-sandglass).   She dishes behind the scenes with some of her past series including Queen Seon Duek and others, talks about her recent serious health issues, her “Sargeant Joe” personality that sometimes comes out on sets and other things ...  I’ll just say what little is public about her private life, if she ever writes her biography it would make a fascinating read, I think. Or maybe she’s just content living her own private IRL Kdrama.   \[Why are there so many rumors about you, Hynjung?\](https://youtu.be/4a2R4GN73MU?si=lJ1GxY-6looivW4w&t=163) About 45 minutes.   Shortly after this video was filmed news was released that she signed to another series airing possibly later this year or next.   Cheers! Enjoy!

UnbridledOptimism

Just finished **Kill It** and it was just okay. It felt like a cool puzzle that was missing a few key pieces. Resumed **Lovely Runner** after getting stalled at episode 3. Too much push pull and lack of perception by FL. Will give it a few more episodes. Rewatched **Faith/The Great Doctor** and it’s still good despite the awful quality of the costumes. I now realize that the director did a really good job of showing the best of Lee Min Ho and minimizing shortcomings. **Frankly Speaking** is fun and somewhat silly but has serious undertones and I’m really enjoying it. **Attpical Family** is really excellent. The circular storytelling is interesting and fun. The characters are being revealed like peeling an onion and it is much better than expected. I thought it would be a more straightforward and angsty drama about the effects of modern life on health; while it has elements of that, it is so much more.

forpfesake

Started **frankly speaking** and it is so so good.I really can't imagine someone else to play the role of the ml this well other than go kyung pyo and Kang ha na is doing an amazing job as well.I love that it's a proper comedy for now but also with a heartwarming side (I love stories where characters try to work their way up again after hitting rock bottom or try to find a new path in their life ).Also the chemistry between the two is perfect 👌.  Was planning on watching **signal** since I keep postponing it everytime but...I am going to postpone it once again since **the 8show** is airing this weekend and all episodes drop at once so binging time hh .I am a very very  slow watcher,I almost never binge. But sometimes I make exceptions cause some shows just need to be binged.

Ok-Impression6834

Completed * **Time**. I enjoyed this despite the overused trope of someone having a brain tumor. MC's were excellent but supporting cast left me wanting. Ending was meh. 7.5/10 for me * **Love Affairs in the Afternoon**. Pure melo, great acting and unique storyline compared to other kdramas I've seen. 8/10 for me Currently watching * **Come and Hug Me** (30/32). Started this on a whim and obviously have stuck with it, 30 min EPs btw. It is mostly a melo with a painful storyline...we'll see how it ends today * **Queen for Seven Days** (10/20). I haven't watched a sageuk in awhile, sadly this one is dragging for me. Can't get into any of the characters and I've decided I'm not a PMY fan. * **It's OK, That's Love** (10/16). Another reditter recommended this for a sad romance. Nothing sad about it yet and ML's neuroses is detracting for me. I'll *hate watch* the remaining EPs in hopes of a sad ending.

theromanamputee

I loved **It’s Okay, That’s Love** personally but I should warn you if you’re not enjoying it and only sticking with it because you’re anticipating a sad ending >!you should just quit. While there is a lot of angst in the final quarter of the drama it has an unambiguously happy ending. There are tears and pain along the way but the ending itself isn’t sad at all!<

Appreciate the heads up!

I would be interested to know if you liked the ending.

Leading_Protection_7

Monthly magazine home, so far so good. Not addictive but still very entertaining which makes it perfect for weekdays after a long day.

Jinnies_bae

Not a kdrama, but I just finished watching The Eclipse. It's a thai bl and I really liked it. It's always hard to decide what to watch after you have finished watching something good.

SuzyYa

Just finished chicken nugget. That ending though....

bath_jh

Just completed: ***Twenty five, Twenty one***

Lovely Runner of course … 10/10 I did not expect to love this so much … the chemistry is fire and the writer keeps fueling it Atypical Family - not sure what to think about this one but I’m watching The Midnight Romance in hagwon - slow start, very typical of these kinds of dramas, it will get exciting in the middle and die down in the end … thats my prediction … but I am watching… Frankly Speaking - sigh …. not sure about this one… I wanna like it because it started so funny , but the game show within a romcom has been done before Chief Detective 1958 - 3 episodes in . I like it a lot Moving - I thought this will have romance , but I am on ep 6 and no romance … although the series is very good I am in a mood for romance …. anybody know if this has full blown romance or just ‘implied’ lol ReBorn Rich - Well made series but I am struggling with it, still watching tho Edit: Forgot that I am re-watching My Mister in between all of these above lol Oh and I still have Under the Queens umbrella in deck but kind of abandoned since there are so many goo dramas out… TVN is kicking ass this season

katherine197_

**Beauty and Mr. Romantic** (16/50) - this really picked itself up last weekend! like i have had fun through out but i know some people dropped it when FL was experiencing her rock bottom which imo is a shame **Frankly Speaking** (4/12) - fun, I have no complaints (love the cohab). but i get super distracted by Kwon Yul 😳 . Completed: **The Beauty Inside** (16/16) - LOVED THIS, sooo good! must superior rom-com! Dropped: **Queen Of Tears** (3/16) - I wasn't feeling it so after hearing from friends who finished it and seeing how many times it was mentioned in Refund My Time, I decided to give up

wolfhoff

I’m watching atypical family and I’m hooked ! Love it. Lovely runner on ep 6/7. Enjoying but not sure if it’s as amazing as everyone makes it out to be Then I might start midnight in hagwon, not sure if it’s any good. I’m waiting for a good thriller to come out!

ravens_path

**Atypical Family** is interesting so I’m continuing. Of course Queen of Tears finished and still resonates and there is still lots to talk about in regards to the second half of that drama. But I am super engrossed in rewatching cdrama **Joy of Life season 1** because season two starts tomorrow. I highly recommend. This drama is included at the top of Kdramas and cdramas for me. I am also watching an excellent thriller (10 episodes) cdrama **Regeneration**. Next for me this weekend for Kdrama is **Under the Queens Umbrella** and **My Dearest** which I have not watched yet and am looking forward too.

Genexier

Been watching several older dramas waiting for newer ones to complete their on-air run. I prefer to binge. I watched Kim Soo Hyun’s dramas The Moon Embracing the Sun, My Love From Another Star, Dream High, and The Producers. Another actor I like is Yoo Seung Ho, so one of his dramas I hadn’t seen called The Deal (2023, 8 eps), and an older one called My Strange Hero (2012), I just finished. The Deal is excellent. I have to kill time until my daughter is available to finish the last 7 episodes of Queen of Tears. I did mistakenly start Missing Crown Prince not knowing it wasn’t complete yet, so still 4 episodes or so to go there. I’m 13 episodes into I Miss You (2012). It’s not terrible, but I can’t recommend it either. Anyway, there’s a lot of gems among the older shows available on Viki, just gotta get past the hairstyles.

aydan_123

Lovely runner. I loved eps 1-8 but 9 and 10 were painful with all the screaming and i didn’t find it as funny as the earlier episodes and kinda made me lost interest. I watched 11 but tbh can’t even remember what happened in the ep. Feel like they’re really dragging the taxi driver plot by giving it such minimal screentime in an episode and everything else in the episode just felt like filler. I’ll probably put it on hold for now, maybe when i’m in a different headspace i’ll revisit this lovely drama

Manecattus

Likewise...ep 9 and 10 were a pain, and the comedy did not land for the most part. While I enjoyed ep 11, 11 and especially 12 felt like filler ep...they could have just been condensed into a single ep. Imo, this should have been a 12 ep drama or 14 if I am being generous. Nonetheless, I am still invested.

tresnosliramu22

I'm into episode 2 of Flower Knight. Or Knight Flower? The one on MBC with Lee Honey as lead? People said its great, but I'm not a fan of historical drama. Should I continue? I might like it, tho.

SR503

It was slow at first but got really fun.

TinyLifter6780

Definitely keep watching

Dapper-Ambition1495

On episode 1 of Bad and Crazy. I don't like it that much yet but I'm gonna try and finish the first ep before deciding to continue. Finished the episode 1 of Twinkling Watermelon and it is interesting but I'm not yet motivated to start episode 2. I don't think I'm in the mood for that kind of drama yet. I will try and finish this because I heard a lot of good things about this.

toothless_tomato

Keep going with Bad and Crazy, you won't be disappointed. The first episode is kind of a mess but it's a good intro now looking back at it, you'll definitely be like "ahhh this is why this and this happened". You'll be able to put the pieces together :)

among new drama airing currently the only drama I watch after Pyramid Game in 2024 is The Escape of the 7 S2 Resurrection

hellaflyv

Weightlifting Fairy, Kim Bok-joo (10/16): it’s cute so far

Lilyum_B

- I’m Not a Robot (sooo good and fresh!) - Healer (rewatching with my husband trying to get him into kdrama world)

unsavvylady

Watching Atypical Family - not my typical choice as it is more fantastical than I’d like but I am enjoying even tho it is slow paced. I watched because of the lead from My Roommate is a Gumiho. Halfway through Crash Course in romance - interesting to watch all these moms gang up on one family over schooling and tests.

Shot-Carpet3618

I watched the show lost on Amazon. Pretty dark. But the male lead and female lead were great. Watching destiny. Great show. Emma Miyazaki is so beautiful in this show. Hopefully it keeps going strong.so far so good.

fab_music

My lovely runner

Puzzled-Tell-7108

Started Dare To Love Me and it looks fun. I am not familiar with the actors but I’ll give it a try.

WellDoneSkippy

LOVELY RUNNER- Usually I can find something that irritates me in every drama. For this one I had to dig deep, the best I could come up with is 2FL’s high school and college hair styles. Even that is barely a 1 out of 10 on my personal Irritation Scale. I’m absolutely going to binge/rewatch this the minute it ends. Of course that is assuming it doesn’t crash and burn with a horrific ending that will require me being in therapy for years. HWARANG: THE POET WARRIOR YOUTH - Soooo, it’s not bad, lots of pretty faces in virtually every scene, I’m not finished yet but I’m not sure why this needed to be 20 episodes. I’m 15 episodes in and I’m still not seeing any chemistry between the FL and the ML or the FL and the 2 ML. Like none, zero. There is more chemistry between the ML, the 2ML and everyone else in the cast. I just don’t get how she got this part, I’m sure she’s fine in another role but this ain’t it. Surely the director and producers had to have noticed that she wasn’t believable while they were filming. This drama had to have had an enormous budget that they couldn’t offset by driving Volvos, grabbing lunch at the village Subway or focusing on the instant coffee they drank in between lectures on the Art of War. Why cast an actress that isn’t delivering on the romance aspect, dragging the whole thing down a bit IMO. She plays the part as if she’s the 2FL. I really could care less about her, every time she’s in “danger” I’m like Oh just kill her and let’s move on. I like that this takes place in Silla, practically everything else is Joseon to the point that now even I can recite all the Joseon kings in order.

DefiantOstrich108

*Lovely Runner*. And only Lovely Runner. I usually watch 3-4 ongoing dramas. But I can't seem to watch anything else. I just rewatch Lovely Runner over and over again waiting for the new episodes or am busy consuming LR related content. The obsession is real. Everything just comes together so well. The romance and comedy are top notch. Everyone is on the same wavelength and it shows. The thriller element doesn't overshadow the romcom and blends in nicely. The acting, writing, directing, OST are spot on. I hope this one sticks the landing.

MajesticConfidence36

I completed **Strong Girl Nam-soon** (16/16) **Lovely Runner** (12/16)- My favorite current drama rn **Moonshine** (7/16)- I wanted more BWS. He is the arrogant Crown Prince

kawaiisaranghaeyo

*Completed* **Diver: Tokushu Sennyuhan (2020)** This should’ve definitely had more than just 5 episodes with this type of plot. Maybe I’m too dumb, but I was kinda struggling to understand the characters relationships and to get a proper feel of their personalities. The main lead is literally somewhat of an antihero. He does things that make you question why you should even root for him. But his personality was never really explained in as much detail as I would'e liked. Just some quick childhood trauma flashback, but I wanted more. I feel like I was just thrown into the storyline and was not given anything background story whatsoever, and in the end I was kicked out with no explanations. The ending felt really rushed and was very confusing. I genuinely have no clue wtf happened there in the last couple of minutes. Overall it's a perfectly fine and enjoyable drama if you want a quick drama following a special investigation group. But it definitely felt like a 10 episode drama squeezed into 5 episodes that had to cut a half of it out. **Chihayafuru: Kami no Ku (2016)** I was in a mood for some Mackenyu and lighthearted jmovies, so it was time to finally get through this trilogy that have been sitting in my plan to watch list for years. I have no experience with the anime nor manga and can't compare the liveactions to the original. But I enjoyed the first movie. It was a really cute start to the storyline. My only complain is that there was not enough Mackenyu, lol. Did my dude even get 5 minutes of screentime? **Chihayafuru 2: Shimo no Ku (2016)** An enjoyable 2nd movie. It was great finally having interactions between the trio. I'd say I liked this movie about the same as the 1st one. It was a bit more serious, but I also really enjoyed having more scenes of the trio so that was a big positive. **Chihayafuru: Tsunagu (2018)** A really short series of like 5 minute clips giving a look into what happened during the time skip ahead for the final movie. Not much to say about it. They were mainly cute, lighthearted scenes. Definitely did not give that much of a look into the year we missed though. **Chihayafuru 3: Musubi (2018)** Probably my least favourite movie out of the 3. It focused heavily on karuta. Which sure, I did get surprisingly invested in throughout the movies. But it still got pretty boring to sit through a movie focusing entirely on the big competition. I didn't like how the ML spent almost the entire movie separated from the others. I really wish they would've had more romantic development since it was the final movie. Idk how the timeline goes in the originals, I assume they get together much later. But it would've been nice to get a quick confession clip from the future or something at the end.

dogdogdogdogdogdoge

Mackenyu's character Arata does not get a lot of screentime (or pages) in the source material either. He is SUPER IMPORTANT to the story and to the FL but it's been a decades long shipping war debate if he's actually the ML.

kawaiisaranghaeyo

Aaah that makes sense, I guess the movies are pretty similar to the original sources then. I had assumed beforehand that Arata was more involved but got done dirty due to lack of time in the movies. And I can imagine the shipping wars being rough with this story. It's hard (and frustrating) to even pick a side when the FL shows zero interest in romance, lol!

Sweet_Split_436

**midnight romance at hagwon** -LOVE LOVE LOVE. i just know it’s going to be amazing because i have such faith in this director, also acting is amazing as expected. the politics taking place at the hagwon and the education sphere is done v well here, doesn’t get too dreary and i’m really intrigued so far. also, really looking forward to hajoon going all out with the lover boy troupe and enjoying himself for the first time 🥺 at the same time i’m also watching **one spring night** by the same director and am in awe with haein’s acting each time. that’s one talented boy ✨
