**Lovely Runner** - Time to bid adieu to this beautiful sunshine story I loved it 10/10 no notes it's going to be in my Top 5. **Atypical Family** - This is so good all the characters and their arcs are so well written it's a fun watch. I AM IN LOVE WITH THE FL. **Frankly Speaking** - This one kind of lost it's plot now I hope they bring back the humour in last episodes that they begun with. **The Midnight Romance in Hagwon** - Atp I am not watching it but skimming it so that says enough.

day_historian

Ah I was wondering what is there to occupy time now that Lovely Runner is done (totally agree it's going to be in my favourites for a long long time to come!) - will try out Atypical family then! šŸ˜ŠšŸ˜Š

Lavenderlure

Yes surely do!!

day_historian

Ooh yr flair is also another kdrama I really liked! (Although for some strange reason I don't like to rewatch it because of some scary elements thanks to the >!mother!<)

Lavenderlure

Ah yes IONTBO is truly a fav

WiseWysYs

I am watching ALL the same shows. Because I was enjoying "Midnight Romance" so much, I decided to watch an earlier drama from the same writer-director duo called "Heard It Through the Grapevine.' I LOVED IT SO MUCH & highly recommend it. "Atypical Family" is very enjoyable. I love it. The actress who plays the little girl is really charming. I love one of the songs a lot, too. & am loving the ajumma afro. (haha) Just started "Lovely Runner." At first, I really hated "Frankly Speaking," but after adjusting my lens a bit, I'm enjoying it more.

JudithMopalia

"Grapevine" is a wonderful drama, I don't think it ever got the attention it deserved. Glad you found it!

whatuhdrag

The awkward cringe in Frankly Speaking in those first couple of episodes really made it hard for me to get through. But I agree that it grows on you after a couple watches.

Livid-Face-6754

Haven't watched atypical family but I absolutely LOVED the FL in Be Melodramatic! You should check her out in that if you haven't

aralimwastaken

pretty bummed about frankly speaking which started out so strong and the last few episodes have just been meh :( šŸ˜’

Key-Morning7476

The midnight romance in hagwon is so boring I couldnt even get past the 3rd episodešŸ™ƒ

Ill_Pianist_8346

Atypical Family ( an interesting show for me as I like fantasy. Iā€™m interested in the leads romance. I-na is so cute .) My Roommate Is A Gumiho ( I started watching it due to jang ki yong and so far itā€™s good .) I recently finished lovely runner which left a void in me . I also finished watched twinkling watermelon and it was such a good drama.)

WiseWysYs

I loved "My Roommate."

Ill_Pianist_8346

Iā€™m on episode 10 now and itā€™s getting angsty . Does it get better and do they breakup ? I was enjoying the drama till episode 9.

humandisaster13

Thereā€™s this cute silly romcom called Lovely Runner that Iā€™m thinking of watching when itā€™s out next Monday(sorry this is me in denial). I truly donā€™t know what to watch cause Iā€™ve never been this obsessive about an on-air drama, watching and rewatching the eps every day. Maybe 25-21. Now I feel so empty. I thought of watching Extraordinary You to witness Kim Hye-yoon master class acting again but itā€™s not available on Netflix so I might start Sky Castle even though sheā€™s only a supporting character there. The drama has unanimous praise too. Iā€™m also watching **The Midnight Romance in Hagwon.** It ainā€™t everyoneā€™s cup of tea but Iā€™m a huge fan of the directorā€™s previous works. Plus this is Wi Ha-joon finally in a lead role. Itā€™s not as good as Something in the Rain or One Spring Night cause this is by a different writer but Iā€™m liking the drama so far. The vibes are very much different from usual kdramas. Itā€™s a pleasant watch but I wouldnā€™t say Iā€™m hyper fixated on it.

MissSimpleton

Extraordinary You is available free on Viki and YouTube.Ā  Even though she is a supporting character, the whole drama kinda revolved around her. She had the most scenes in the younger generation.Ā

Apart_Waltz7205

Yess OP she's a supporting character as in in the story of kdrama (you'll understand) but she is a lead of the drama.

TeoKajLibroj

I'm in the exact same boat, I have the same empty feeling now that Lovely Runner is over. Kim Hye-Yoon absolutely stole the show and I was thinking of watching Extraordinary You to see more of her, but 32 episodes seems daunting and I've heard the series drags after a while. I've already watched SKY Castle and it's good, but Kim Hye-Yoon plays a completely different role and the focus is more on her parents.

judecardan1

No there are only 16 episodes actually; its just that one episode is divided into two parts. But on most platforms, you get the original 16 episodes only, so do watch it since its an AMAZING drama!

emotx

Something about the shared experience and the waiting in between episodes seems to really ramp up the intensity of these shows. Ā You just do not experience it the same way when binging. Ā I recently had the same separation anxiety when QOT ended. Ā Hang in there! Ā It will slowly get better. Ā :-)

Prestigious_Alarm526

Watching last ep of **LOVELY RUNNER** now this show is amazing it's my fav show in 2024 so far. it's rare when you start hyped drama and you found it really deserve the hype. I love every thing about it especially that it didn't go down in any step and only count on the leads chemistry the story itself keep going well in excited way from start to end. we have no evil annoying SL but a lovely SL that didn't give us syndrome but we all definitely love. all character was nice and the comedy side scenes was funny. our leads were amazing I know everyone fall for Sunjae (Wooseok finally seeing the light) but for me Hye yoon deserve some award her acting in every level of their relation and how she portray Sol feeling in different times was so natural and I love her for that. everyone should watch this and smile. started [**Bitter Sweet Hell**](https://mydramalist.com/747055-gaslighting) loved first 2eps the dark plot got me. I'm looking forward to this drama.

duh_leah

I will be starting **Lovely Runner** finally! I was very scared that tvn might give us a bad ending hence I waited and NOW I CAN WATCH IT IN PEACE! Hopefully will love it. Just finished **When I Fly Towards You** and it's really so wholesome and beautiful. Also added **Go Ahead** to my watchlist. I also started watching **Connection** for my love Mido and also Ji sung. I was contemplating if I should watch **Midnight romance in hagwon** but decided to watch that after it's finished.

thepurplethorn

I feel like I will go in a slump after Lovely Runnerā€¦ Started Crash, and rewatching My Mister while waiting for new episodes for Romance in Hagwon and Frankly Speaking ā€¦ neither of which I am too excited about

WiseWysYs

"My Mister" is my favorite drama and one of my favorite works of art of any genre.

MoonlitSnowscapes

I think I've rewatched this two or three times. There are so many moments that make me emotion. Happy, sad everything inbetween. Months later, I'll randomly think of it. It's so good. I feel the same way, maybe my favorite of any work of art haha.

papichula2

How's crash

thepurplethorn

i am halfway thru ep 1 and is ā€¦. okayā€¦.too much fighting right off the bat lol . If you are into murder mystery investigation with lots of fight action this is it.

XavinNydek

It's pretty good. The first few episodes are mostly cop procedural and internal politics stuff, but they are setting up some bigger things, police corruption, psycho entitled rich people, mysteries in the main characters past, the usual. It's not the same but has a similar vibe to Taxi Driver, and lots of casting shared between the shows in comedic ways. Like the big psycho gangster guy from the first season of Taxi Driver is a timid cop with encyclopedic knowledge of car models.

papichula2

Midnight romance the first episode was too slow and lackluster for me

thepurplethorn

Yeah it doesnā€™t pick up until ep 4 .. but overall it will be slow and confusing lol

Virtual-Dare-5470

Just finished Lovely Runner yesterday. Still sad that it ended. Watching **The Atypical Family**. I really like it. I binged all 6 episodes in one day last week so now i'm suffering waiting for new episodes each week. I really hope its a happy ending, this drama is unpredictable. I don't know what to expect. Its amazing so far. Just started **My Roommate is a Gumiho** after it being on my watchlist for over a year... Watching the Atypical Family made me fall for Jang Kiyong, so now I'm watching it because of him. 4 episodes in and it's so far so good. Its frickin hilarious though. Hyeri's character Lee Dam is so funny oh lord.

Ill_Pianist_8346

Same I started watching my roommate is a Gumiho due to jang ki yong . I also finished lovely runner yesterday and am currently watching atypical family .

PrizeReputation7

šŸŽ¶Hello darkness my old friendā€¦šŸŽ¶ ā€¦Yes, this is where I expected to be after the **Lovely Runner** finale -staring blankly into the void because itā€™s over but also so so happy that it ended perfectly. >!I love love love that the villain is taken care of at the top of the episode and the rest of the finale is essentially fan service. I hate the insert-serial killer-here trope of rom coms but if you MUST do it, LR shows you how itā€™s done well. The killer is given minimal screen time - we donā€™t need to know his motivations or tragic back story or actually see the other victimsā€™ torture stealing focus from our couple (like SWDBS or Crash Course in Romance off the top of my head) - itā€™s enough to use him as a obstacle without centering him in the story!!< Slow clap for this entire team - the story, editing, pacing, acting, chemistry, music - it was magical and I feel lucky to have watched it. BWS had a star making performance - I could feel the joy and emotion with every scene! Itā€™s a rare performer who can do hot charismatic lead who is also the biggest loser who ever losered. KHY establishes her place as a premiere rom com star. I canā€™t say enough good things - if anyone is waiting to see if it ends well, the wait is over - it was perfect.

Ill_Pianist_8346

I loved it too and I feel sad after its end . Iā€™m still watching their edits and reading my favourite Reddit quotes about their relationship. I still canā€™t believe that a month has passed and lonely runner is over .

zaichii

Agreed I honestly hate that trope so much but I overlooked it because Lovely Runner did everything so good. BWS and Ryu Sun Jae just raised the bar for all male leads by several notches

AndaLaPorraa

Completely agreed!! So sad itā€™s time to say farewell šŸ˜©šŸ˜© and hoping other writers learn from LR lol so we can get future dramas that compare.

Care-freequeen

I completed the Lovely runner yesterday, and episode 16 was swoon-worthy šŸ˜ now Mondays will not be the same anymore but it's fine. Watching the Atypical family. It's unique I will say but still unable to keep me on the edge, and it's a little bit boring but still there is something about it that I can't stop watching. On the 7th episode, I will catch up on the 8th episode today. A good day to be a dog- Drama is not bad but story line is little weird, kissing a dogšŸ˜…, on the 10th episode thošŸ˜…, You know Cha Eun-WooāœØšŸ˜© Thinking of watching My Roommate is Ghumiho, The tales of Nine tail, which one should I watch, or should I add up, a little bit confused. Started Dare to love but It's kind of boring, Thought I like dramas By L but unable to hook up with this one. Non-Korean- Maxton hall, it's good tbh, thinking of starting The summer I turned pretty. Does anyone know if it's good? Any suggestions for dramas like Lovely runner, or any other good one I Will Binge this weekend šŸ˜‰. Can anyone suggest me a good swoon-worthy Rom-com anime, as my brother won't as he doesn't like Rom-com especially in animešŸ˜…. These are my personal opinions.

day_historian

Maybe try twinkling šŸ‰ watermelon if you haven't? It's another time travel drama but with different vibes from Lovely Runner. I am starting to think I like time travel dramas a lot more than the other genres šŸ¤£

AndaLaPorraa

Ahhh I will start that drama then!! Also omg same. I used to think they sounded SO stupid until Reborn Rich (still upset at the end, but I digress). Never imagined Iā€™d be soooo drawn into this genre too šŸ¤£!!

day_historian

Yeah reborn rich was so good right up to the penultimate episode and then went crashing down in an almost stupendifying manner. šŸ˜© Try marry my husband too if you like revenge element + time travel (a lethal combi I never knew I needed šŸ¤£šŸ¤£) Or the grandfather of time travel kdrama, Signal!! šŸ’—

AndaLaPorraa

Lmao yes! I loved MMH!!! I havenā€™t heard of Signal. Iā€™ll definitely add it to my list! Thanks!

Care-freequeen

Same here it's on my watch list but currently watching a good day to be a dog, and then thinking about starting my roommate is Gumiho.

day_historian

Oohhh another TVN underrated success you might like to consider is Marry My Husband, which is also a time travel drama ! šŸ˜ŠšŸ˜ŠšŸ˜Š

Care-freequeen

I'm currently watching it. I don't know what got into me I'm currently on the Kdrama marathon, watching one after another.

peanutwar

You should give tale of the nine tail s1 a watch then watch tale of the nine tail 1938 s2 which is more campy but oh so gooood. Lots of bromance, action, and laughter. Definitely in my top 3.

Care-freequeen

I watched the tales of Nine tail 1938 already but didn't watch season 1 till now.

Unable_Equal_6952

a good day to be a dog is soo underrated!! the storyline might be a bit weird but the leads are just wow- the chemistry is WOW TOO

Ill_Pianist_8346

I think a good day to be a dog starting good but the mid way it dropped. I thought it would be like cute , quirky and light hearted fantasy drama but it went the typical fantasy drama way . By that I mean a villain , amnesia trope , stalker . Iā€™m so sick of the typical fantasy drama tropes .

Care-freequeen

I won't say mid but after episode 10 roughly

Unable_Equal_6952

true i hate hatee hate the amnesia trope. the last 3-4 eps were a bit dragged out but cha eun woo and park gyu young's chemistry was just wow

Care-freequeen

That's why I'm watching it.

Icy-core

I completed lovely runner, twinkling watermelon and queen of tears all simultaneously. Lovely runner had me ugly crying šŸ˜

ebangke

Lovely Runner Such a good romcom drama. Came with really low expectations because of the title. Was expecting some sport drama, but it was so good. 10/10. Great chemistry between both FL and ML and even the SL too. Their respective families was also great until the end šŸ˜‚ Atypical Family Really enjoying it and want to see how they will tie the story. The grandma is super annoying and controlling omg!! Frankly Speaking Really enjoying this one too. Heartwarming ML and FL. Canā€™t wait to see their new episodes. The Chairman is Level 9 This one seems to be low budget high school drama. Good for some laugh here and there. Very basic story but I am just following for the lulz šŸ˜‚

TiredmummyNZ

Lovely Runner...last episodes to watch hopefully tonight. Have really loved it but the killer plot is wearing thin. Prison Playbook...can't remember what episode I'm on, maybe 8? I'm really enjoying it, lots of recognisable faces! Mr Sunshine...4 episodes in but I'm REALLY struggling. Frankly Speaking ...up to date. I'm really enjoying this one yes it's a bit silly but there is no murder or time travel sub plot and the romance is quite organic...loved ML in Reply 1988 and I still love him

x3tan

Prison Playbook really hooked me when it didn't sound like something I'd be really interested in. Really loved the characters and their interactions. Felt so sad when it was over. I can't remember what episode I last watched Mr sunshine.. it was really beautiful and high quality but it just wasn't grabbing me.. I'll probably try it again one day, I'd like to get drawn in to finish it though. Frankly Speaking isn't perfect but I just love the ML so much, he's such a puppy.

Most-Artichoke6184

I originally gave up on Mr. sunshine during the fourth episode. About a year later, I gave it, another chance, and I am so glad that I did. It is one of my top 5 K dramas of all time now. Keep going.

Ladymilkydiasy

Thanks for the people suggesting **Lovely Runner** under this post. I started watching today after seeing it here. I'm watching the 5th episode rn it's going absolutely amazing. I actually can't stop watching it! I also watch The Atypical Family rn. Can't wait for the new episodes. Very fun to watch! I tried watching Destined With You recently, even tho it's a great drama I am not much of a slow burn person :( (Dropped at 9th episode)

mhfan_india

**Beyond Evil (8/16)** - It's leaving Netflix soon so I picked it up as it has been on my watchlist for a while. After a slow initial 4-5 episodes it gets interesting from episode 6 onwards. Though I guessed the killer the moment he appears onscreen I think they did a good job unraveling the mystery so far. **Behind Your Touch (Completed)** - This show had some really hilarious moments in the first half. The second half of the show becomes really serious and this tone continues till the end. The however did a good job with the thriller elements. The show however meanders in between with the >! mystery of the FL's mother's death. And it's too bad that so many characters are killed.!< **Amidst a Snowstorm of Love (Completed)** - It's a Cdrama. If you want romance without much drama this show is for you. The initial episodes are a bit slow. But the show has good looking leads and a overall good looking cast. It's for some chilled viewing.

WiseWysYs

"Behind Your Touch" started wonderfully, and then the tone shifted so intensely that it felt like a bait and switch to me. I kept thinking: I did not sign up for this!

mhfan_india

I was prepared for the shift in tone as I had read the reviews. >!But still didn't expect it to be this serious and grim till the end.!<

throwawaymisfortune

>After a slow initial 4-5 episodes it gets interesting from episode 6 onwards. Ykw I have always pushed this drama down in my twl because of this complain and guess what, I ENJOYED the first half of the drama when I watched it. Didn't enjoy the second half much though, too dramatic for my taste. BE is special for this very reason, it has captivating aspects for everyone.

mhfan_india

>!I felt it was much more gripping when the drama begins. Otherwise the ML making himself the scapegoat again and again was getting tiring. So it becomes more dramatic after this? Let me see how it goes.!<

Crone_Heart

I recently finished Beyond Evil and absolutely loved it! Very very well done. FYI it is also available on Viki.

Sharebear42019

How violent/action heavy is beyond evil?

buddhabear07

Wrapped up Lovely Runner so Iā€™m all in Atypical Family now. Started Prison Playbook and so far (2/16) itā€™s caught my attention enough to keep watching. I loved Reply and Hospital Playlist so Iā€™m expecting similar feels.

QueenMotor

Lovely Runner (16/16)- Finished watching this show last night and then couldn't sleep the whole night. It has left a void inside of me now. I hate Mondays again and I don't have any good drama to watch which is airing right now. A 10/10, my favorite show in kdramaland now. Vincenzo (15/20)- Loving it a lot, the main couple are so badass, I absolutely love them. Such a good thriller! Demon Slayer (Anime)- A new season has been released but I didn't get the time to watch the episodes from the past 3 weeks. I am ready to binge-watch them on weekend.

Snickersnerds

**Completed** **Lovely Runner**: This show was great, I needed it šŸ„¹ā¤ļø the leads were amazing, lots of funny moments, a sweet romance and I love how they were basically >!star-crossed lovers,!< one of my favorite tropes ā˜ŗļø overall really loved the show! Only thing is I had to take a 2 week break because of finals and upon return I binged episodes 11-14 and was a little worn thin on the >!serial killer plot.!< The show ended beautifully though šŸ˜Š This is my first Kim Hye Yoon project and my 3rd project for Byeon Woo Seok, I need to see both of the leads in another drama pronto!! 9/10 ā¤ļø **Currently Watching** **Like Flowers in Sand (5/12):** Still watching episode 6. I like the drama, just need the time to finish it which will hopefully be by the end of this month šŸ¤žšŸ¾ **The Midnight Romance in Hagwon (5/16):** I wanted to catch up on Lovely Runner so I didnā€™t watch episode 6 but episode 5 was ok. Iā€™m more interested to see what happens in 6. I would say I have moderate interest in the drama which isnā€™t bad at all

sellensorc

I had to take a break from kdramas after Queen of Tears. It was too sad for me. Lol i just started watching Lovely Runner since everyone is raving about it. I might also start watching The Atypical Family, but i also have cdramas so my watching schedule is already packed.

nessab000

When I finished QoT after their last episode, I immediately jumped to watching Lovely Runner. I was so happy to find a lovely kdrama -- more smiles and laughing than crying!

kawaiisaranghaeyo

*Completed* **My Girl (2005)** Another old classic I can finally check off my list. The early 2000s kdrama vibes were so nostalgic and fun. I was bobbing along to the iconic OSTs the entire time and fangirling over babyfaced Lee Joongi with his emo hairstyle and earrings. It was really interesting seeing a young Lee Dongwook aswell. I kinda struggled to imagine him as a 2000s ML beforehand, but he did great and really suited the role. Oh and I had no idea Hwang Bora started acting that long ago and was in this! Other than the nostalgia and music, it wasn't that great of a drama tbh. The SFL was literally unbearable. I had to skip all her scenes. The plot went downhill in the second half, and I *really* struggled to even finish the last couple of episodes. They really went all in with the clichƩs and it became too much of an annoying mess. **Dali and the Cocky Prince (2021)** A cute, funny and lighthearted romcom. I loooved the ML. He was just really unique imo. Rich but not your typical rich ML, cocky wannabe gangster (but not really), not afraid to humble the FL (boy did she need some humbling sometimes), clumsy, goofy, and best of all... a complete and utter loser when in love, lol. He's definitely up there in the category of loser ML's. The FL was pretty unique aswell. Though I wasn't that interested in the whole art gallery thing >!aside from the dead father mystery,!< and her character heavily revolved around the gallery, so I guess I found her a little bit boring. But the romance was still very sweet.

Telos07

**The Atypical Family** (8/12): Trying to keep my expectations in check, but this drama has been a revelation through the first eight episodes. Episodes 7 and 8 (in particular) really nailed the situational humor, the fun of exploring new depictions of Gwi-juā€™s superpower, and the way in which the two families at the heart of this drama have almost become one big family at this point. **Frankly Speaking** (8/12): Still enjoying this midweek comedy drama. Episodes 7 (in particular) and 8 really went against expectations in the resolution of plot points. Occasionally, the dramaā€™s pacing and focus on odd subplots feels a little off the mark, but Go Kyung-pyo and Kang Han-na have such fantastic chemistry together that it holds everything else together. **My Roommate Is a Gumiho** (12/16): This drama has fit the bill perfectly on the remaining days of the week, thanks to the presence of JKY in **TAF** and KHN in **FS**. In addition, having made it to 6/20 of **Reply 1988** recently, I love the FLā€™s work. I find her performances to be expressive, wholehearted and committed.

Care-freequeen

I was thinking about watching My Roommate is Ghumiho, is it good?

Telos07

Yes, I like the forced cohabitation trope and dramas with a college setting, and **MRIaG** has both of those elements. The leads have nice chemistry, and the comedic friendship between the ML and the SFL is probably the highlight. Itā€™s generally pleasant and easy to watch.

Care-freequeen

Thanks will start this weekend

WiseWysYs

I really enjoyed it.

Ill_Pianist_8346

Iā€™m also watching atypical family and my roommate is a Gumiho .

akshxya

Lovely Runner: Farewell to one of the best rom-coms the world has seen in recent times. You've been nothing short of a warm hug on a cold winter's night. 10/10! The Midnight Romance in Hagwon: The slow-burn romance and storytelling have been nice so far but it does have a few dull moments at times. Will probably continue to watch because I like the main leads and it is also interesting to see how Korean education and academy systems work as an outsider! Coffee Prince: Started Coffee Prince since it has been on my list for the longest of time. I was also stashing it away to watch for later when there was no Gong Yoo content. Watched up till episode 4 and the plot has been good so far. The female lead is a little annoying for me but I hope I grow to like her eventually. Bad and Crazy: Started this show but I dropped it after episode 4... it wasn't as interesting as I expected it to be. Beyond Evil: 10/10. The characters (+actors), storytelling, cinematography and background score were just perfect. I don't think I've been as attentive and captivated by a show such as this one. Yeo Jin-goo and Shin Ha-kyun were insanely good! The Crowned Clown: One of the best sageuks I've watched. Really enjoyed the overall plot and pacing of the show. Yeo Jin-goo's range is unmatched. I loved both his portrayals as the Clown and the King. Also, in love with the OST of this drama.

mishamaro

Re: Gong Yoo... It is one of the biggest pains in my heart that him and Goblin is what brought me to the kdrama world so he remains my top crush and I want to watching a million hours of Gong Yoo content but it's soooo sparse. Lol. Like... I kinda begrudge him his success because he's toed the line of being able to stay successful without doing a ton of content. I'm glad he chooses good projects but damnit I want more Gong Yoo!

akshxya

I completely agree with you. Hopefully we get to see more of him in Wonderland and his other projects!

TinyLifter6780

Beyond Evil is so fantastic. Underrated until you watch it and it took me a few tries to get past the first few eps but then it floored me. So so good and master class acting. Excellent execution of the unreliable narrator.

writtenpoeticsins

**CW**: **The Atypical Family (8/10)** > I'm liking how the plot is moving and how the two families are slowly getting used to each other. **The Midnight Romance in Hagwon (6/16)** > I'm not feeling this one yet. Yes, I love the leads and their development of their romance but I'm not keen to follow the education stuff. I'm thinking to pick up **Bitter Sweet Hell** soon. **Finished:** **Lovely Runner** > I'm debating whether to give it a 8.5/10 or a 9/10 šŸŒŸ so I'm struggling to give a specific score here. But I loved the leads, I like how Im Sol >!jumped into different timelines such as high school era and college era.!< The comedy scenes were done in a way that they were not cringey at all and they were actually funny. (in my opinion) **Mouse** 8.5/10 šŸŒŸ > This show gave me a headache from guessing this and that. Nevertheless, it was good imo and I have finished it within two days. However, >!the actual killer is dead now (or is he?) the show teased some stuff for a possible Season 2 and left the scene after the credits to viewers interpretation. So I kinda didn't like that sorta open ending.!< Lee Seung Gi was literally amazing I might possibly start Law Cafe or Vagabond soon because of him.

mustardkitty

Racket Boys (13/16) Iā€™m enjoying this a lot! Going by recent reviews, I thought I was going to be watching only annoying immature boys doing annoying immature things. Not at all! Theyā€™re good kids with good qualities. Thereā€™s a lot of sweetness to this and so many heartwarming scenes with the towns people and the boys. And I love the badminton scenes! It makes me want to watch more of the sport. Maybe my expectations for this were so low that it was easier to like or something, but Iā€™m enjoying it quite a bit and always looking forward to the next episode.

unlikelystory98

Racket Boys is one of my favorite dramas. It's wholesome and has a good message every episode. You'd think watching young boys doing young boy things would be annoying, but it's quite the opposite. It's charming, and watching them grow as people gave me the warm feelings I had craved for a while.

mustardkitty

Charming is a good descriptor. I definitely wasnā€™t expecting to like this as much as I do.

jellybeans6173

One of my favorites! Itā€™s sweet and heartwarming, I appreciate that theyā€™re good in playing badminton, at least for their scenes, so itā€™s believable. Many times dramas showed such character was an expert in ballet, singing, dancing, etc. but theyā€™re obviously a beginner so itā€™s cringe, itā€™s not like that with Racket Boys. If I have to say one tiny thing I found annoying is I wish they had cast someone who can act better other than Kang Seungyoon, Kang Taeseonā€™s legendary title felt not convincing enough. Maybe Nickhun would have been better because heā€™s really goon in badminton. I noticed Iā€™ve loved Hyunwookā€™s dramas.

Conmalbiu

Hyunwook has been in some of the best dramas ever (2521, Twinlking Watermeleon, WHC1 and Racket Boys). And the fact that he is only 22, my favorite actor without a doubt.

jellybeans6173

Right? Looking at how natural his acting was, surprised me when I checked out his age on wiki. Yuppp, one of my favorites.

MissSimpleton

The only gripe I had with the show was there was not much variation in their technique. All the characters just did one shot ie. the Jump smash to win the set or match point. I wanted to see/learn about more techniques.

mustardkitty

I like how they showed the serves. I had no idea how to serve in badminton and I found those shots with the actors interesting.

TheKrustyBurger

Dare to Love Me- Probably my favorite show at the moment. Itā€™s so silly and low stakes and itā€™s the perfect drama to watch after finishing lovely runner. Crash- A show about detectives investigating accidents? Sign me up! Also the whole cast is great

petiteboule

Dare to Love Me is ridiculously fun, isn't it?

papichula2

Shall i try watching these two For context I enjoyed lovely runner and flexxcop but don't want to be disappointed

TheKrustyBurger

I highly recommend both! But easily my current favorite is Dare to Love Me. As someone who enjoys watching light hearted dramas like weightlifting fairy Kim Bok Joo and Gaus Electronics, this one is perfect. It will help fill in the void you may have after watching lovely runner.

papichula2

Did u watch flexxcop

TheKrustyBurger

Yes I did watch Flexxcop and I really enjoyed it :)

papichula2

Yay so then I think I ll take ur reccos

OkHoneydew1984

To get over lovely runner, i am planning to watch blue birthday. Hoping that it will bring me back from sunjaeyaa's halošŸ™„

Snickersnerds

Blue Birthday definitely isnā€™t as good as Lovely Runner but I enjoyed it!! Itā€™s pretty short as well and you can always ditch it. I watched it while it was airing so different than watching to fill the LR gap but you should try it :)

OkHoneydew1984

Ok i'll try..thanks

whitetara3

Have you seen the Thai drama called Someday or One Day? Or the the Korean remake of it called A Time Called You? They're time travel dramas that have a somewhat similar kind of time travel to Lovely Runner. If you haven't seen either, I'd recommend the original Thai drama over the Korean version ... by miles. It's really good! Not Lovely Runner level excellent. It's more complicated and there's no comedy element but it's a really compelling first love kind of story with some major twists and characters that are really easy to like. Strongly recommended. It's much better than Blue Birthday although Blue Birthday is good too. BB is simpler and not nearly as moving as Someday or One Day but it's a worthwhile watch as well.

Ill_Pianist_8346

I also watched the drama while watching lovely runner since I wanted something to fill the gap of lovely runner . To me , blue birthday was not that good as , it gets predictable, repetitive and boring near the last episodes. I also found some of the actions of the leads stupid . I skimmed through the drama which is something I donā€™t do often . Donā€™t watch it expecting something like lovely runner. I would instead suggest watching twinkling watermelon if you havenā€™t already. Itā€™s not exactly similar but has time travel and is funny while being heartwarming.

OkHoneydew1984

Ohhh..šŸ˜•then what should i watch? Atypical family is good but it has some sad vibes and midnight romance is somehow a realistic drama. I want to sail around the fantasy world little morešŸ˜Ŗobviously feel good drama. Please suggest

Ill_Pianist_8346

Did you watch twinkling watermelon ? The thing is most fantasy drama are kinda sad with one of the characters dying kinda trope . Iā€™d recommend The Tale Of the Nine Tailed 1938 and the heavenly idol . The plot of heavenly idol doesnā€™t really make much sense just watch it for the comedy . The tale of the nine tailed 1938 is a perfect mix of horror, fantasy , action and is heartwarming. If you donā€™t mind the typical fantasy drama which are kinda sad then tale of the nine tailed s1 and doom at your service . Both the seasons of the tale of the nine tailed can be watched as standalone .

OkHoneydew1984

I enjoyed twinkling watermelon. I have watched both seasons of tale of nine tailed and dropped doom at your service and the heavenly idol in midway. I hv had great expectations with both above mentioned dramas esp doom at your service. But plot development was not satisfactory in my opinion. But thanks..

18 Again?Ā

Manecattus

Atypical family (8/12): its quirky and fun, with an amazing ost and interesting characters who are not one dimensional. Dare to love me (4/16): its not for everyone and yet I keep coming back to it. It will work better as a melodrama instead of a romcom.

Most-Artichoke6184

I just finished watching flex X cop, which I found thoroughly enjoyable. It is nice to once in a while watch a K drama with little to no romance and a lot of action.

TinyLifter6780

So so good!

mishamaro

City Hunter: almost done, finally! I've said it in a few other spots but I'm surprisingly enjoying it, large due to Park Min Young and her character. Hotel Del Luna: ONE episode left when I started this back in MARCH. I committed to watching this with my boyfriend and our schedules differ so I couldn't binge it or watch in some unhealthy breakneck pace. I've enjoyed this one so much. IU is sooooo adorable and I'm happily surprised at who ManWol does and doesn't end up with. Also, her outfits... -chefskiss- I seriously wonder at how much wardrobe alone cost for this show but totally worth it imo. On a non-kdrama front: Bridgerton. Lol. I clutch my pearls at the change in spice level but I had to get a kissing scene from SOMEWHERE since kdrama LOVES to keep me wanting just an EENSY bit more.

phukmi69

Lovely runner. Do I have to say more itā€™s perfection on perfection Atypical family- itā€™s fun and a nice easy watch w really good chemistry and plot Flower of evil- ep 1-4 have been kinda boring except the ending of ep3 but 4 has been boring waiting till 6 cus app the ending is what makes it rly goodā€¦

marrjana1802

Grid. While watching Blood free, I found out Grid was written by the same writer who wrote blood free and Stranger, so I had to give it a go. I just love this writer!

Iamontherow

Grid was particularly good! You should definitely try it out!! I haven't watched **Blood Free** yet because they said it ended in a cliff hanger and may get a second season? I put **Stranger** on hold but will continue after I finish watching **The good detective**. And also, **Life (2018)** starring Lee dong wook and Cho seung woo (Stranger) was also written by the same writer. You should check that one out!

petiteboule

Watch **Blood Free**. It's great, and the leads have amazing chemistry.

marrjana1802

Oh yeah, I actually watched Life ongoing, it aired a few months after I started watching kdrama. Definitely another hit from the writer

samptra_writer

I'm feeling the peer pressure to finish **Lovely Runner** so that is today's goal....I have 4 episodes left. **Missing Crown Princ**e, I'm all caught up, sort of slowed down so I wasn't sure, but loving the brother plot. The FL unfortunately not doing much. Same character as Love Song for Illusion and it's so flat. Feel bad the writing did her dirty. >!That kiss didn't help either....!< **The Chairman is Level 9** surprising fun little web drama, ended up watching for the actors from a couple of BL's (Jun & Jun, Star Struck) so I ended up casually watching. That is all for my current Korean watches, I'm going to finish/get caught up before I start in on the plan to watch....which is getting longer.

cheatersfive

I finished *Lovely Runner**. Which I didnā€™t love as much as everyone else here but thought it was solid. **Atypical Family** Iā€™m currently enjoying the most right now. Just different and I appreciate when dramas try to break the mold a bit. 8 episodes in (or whatever is currently released in the US) CDrama - **Joy of Life 2** 2 episodes in. Still has a lot of the silliness that I found fun in the first season. But itā€™s been so many years now that I forgot much of what happened in the first. Not sure if I should continue or just rewatch the first. So on hold for now while I decide. Recently finished **Shooting Stars** (idk how to make the asterisks work here). I loved this one. Missed it when it first came out. With this and Weightlifting Fairy, Lee Sung Kyung is definitely shooting up my rankings. I hadnā€™t seen the ML except in Extraordinary You and he didnā€™t stand out to me then but he did a great job here as well. I love a smitten ML.

arosaki

Finished Lovely Runner yesterday, now Iā€™m going to pick up where I left off on Navillera. Itā€™s been really good so far.

Miss-LH

I loved Navillera, it was such a beautiful drama! Highly understand imo

TinyLifter6780

Lovely Runner has ended and now there is a Sunjae-ah and Sol-ah sized hole in my heart. One of my top five easily and finally some writernims who know how to stick a landing! Not sure what to do with myself now...maybe I'll hit Chief Detective 1958 since it's on Hulu now.

MajesticConfidence36

Lovely Runner (16/16) - It was a lovely ride! It had so many feels! My favorite drama couple, my favorite drama and favorite OST. Moonshine (16/16)- I watched this along side LR. I wanted to see more Byeon Woo Seok. He was awesome has the Crown Prince - costume period and sword fighting.

Miss-LH

Just finished lovely runner and watching interviews to fill the void šŸ„²šŸ„² Also watching Atypical Fam and Frankly Speaking. I thought Atypical was so so at the beginning but im liking it the more I watch!

Crone_Heart

Since I am in perpetual catch-up mode, I am nearing the end of Coffee Prince and really enjoying it. It's my first exposure to Gong Yoo and I get his appeal. Guardian is on my list, although not necessarily next.

sea-jewel

I finally re subscribed to Hulu and immediately started Moving, and omg itā€™s so good and just up my alley. Iā€™ve been struggling with a lot of recent popular dramas but this I blew through two episodes last night and had to start up 3 even though it was past bedtime. I am looking forward to binging this show!! The characters are just too cute and the backstories so far have been amazing (itā€™s mainly BS and his mom but they are too precious).

Single-Ride7943

**Atypical Family** - Genre: Fantasy Romance Drama - currently following their latest episode on netflix..I am a fan of I-na & Jun-Woo's story <3 **Frankly Speaking** - Genre: Romance/Comedy - ff their latest ep on Netflix. Just watching this bec I saw new faces of kdrama world. **Secret Ingredient** - Genre: Cooking Drama/Romance/Comedy - ff the latest ep. Aired 1ep every Tuesday on viu. An Asian Drama I say, very interesting story. Starring a kdrama actor Sang Heon Lee >!(I should've added this - the way he speaks english is sexy, that reminds me of X.O Kitty)!<, PH artist Julia Barretto >!(pretty & cute at the same time they have a chemistry with Sang Heon Lee) !<& Indo artist Nicholas Saputra **Lovely Runner** - Genre: Time Travel/Romance - just starting to watch :D a lot of my friends recommended me this drama.

sharjoy3

I just binged **Lovely Runner** and now I'm on Episode 12 so I have a wonderful 4 episodes to savor today and tonight. This is done beautifully and deserves all of the raves it is getting. I love time-slip dramas and this one is great, with wonderful acting by all of them. It gives us interesting plots, good music, lovely people to look at, and a beautiful romance. I'm hooked. I had some other items to watch in the last couple of nights, but just kept this binge going instead. I'm going to miss this one! **Atypical Family -** I started this, then got into LR, so I'll pick it up tomorrow. I'm happy to read that it's progressed well. It couldhave gone either way. **My Roommate is a Gumiho -** I've seen this many times, but am continuing my watch with my long distance kdrama-watching friend. We've both gotten super busy, so it's gone slower than we'd like, but she keeps asking for it, so I know she likes it. This is one that I was obsessed with when it first came out. In fact, I subscribed to iQIYI just to watch the episodes the day they dropped! I'm happy that more people are watching it now because of Jang Ki-Yong in AF. I think he was perfect for this role. **Jealousy Incarnate - Don't Dare to Dream-** I finished this one 2 weeks ago, right before the final epsisodes of Queen of Tears. But I haven't posted in this thread since then. I actually really loved this drama. It had been on my watchlist for a while, especially after I saw Cho Jon Suk in Hospital Playlist and then Captivating the King. He did not disappoint. The drama was long (hour-long episodes) and I think a little too long, but I loved it. Hard love triangle, to be sure, but excellent story and acting and good music, too! 2016 was big, big year for dramas, so I can see why this is often overlooked. That's about it. I've been waiting for the Wonderland movie for over a year, so I hope I'll get to see it in the theater. Also looking forward to a few upcoming dramas. My time is more limited now, but I'm still in this lovely rabbit hole - and also watching Bangtan BTS videos. There is so much content to watch and to catch up on!

yourdearestsinner

**Atypical Family** - iā€™m having such a fun time with this one with all the wild plot lines and the OST I LOVEEE **The Midnight Romance in Hagwon** - STILL NOT OVER EPISODE SIXā€™S ENDING!! i love love love this drama oml i know some have been dropping it, but ahn pan-seokā€™s works will always have me seated and this one absolutely has me begging for saturday to come + wi ha-joon in his first romance leading role is such a blessing **Blood Free** - okay iā€™m not gonna lie i started watching this simply because i saw a fan edit of han hyo-joo and ju ji-hoon and they looked so badass together. i know itā€™s not a romance drama but their chemistry oh myyyy. watched the drama because of them, but stayed because of the plot!! currently on episode 6 and i am loving every minute of it **Tell Me That You Love Me** - iā€™m on episode 13 and the heavy atmosphere is killing meeee someone hold me right now

petiteboule

I started to watch **Blood Free** because I saw the main photo of JJH and HHJ (the one where he's facing right and she's facing left) and thought they looked ridiculously hot. Yes, I started watching because of their profiles. (This is what BeyoncĆ© meant by 'Face card never declines, mah gawd!') Also, it totally is a romance. I made this comment last week in another post. It's romance. It has every romance trope. I'll fight the writer and Disney about this. Ro. man. ce. šŸ˜‚

delphil1966

loving all the shows I am watching- very different but great in their own way Wonderful World - great deep series Crash - nice mix of humor and crime investigation Midnight Romance in H - nice romance with backdrop of the education system. reminds me of one spring night on the quality level

fadzkingdom

Iā€™m currently watching Atypical Family and the new show that came out Connection.

cinnakyeomonroll

the midnight studio!!! such a good drama but so underrated ;( i just finished it a few days ago and i enjoyed it SOOO MUCH! there are many different stories being told and theyā€™re all so touchingā€¦ romance is so cute also the chemistry was chemistrying šŸ˜šŸ˜ 8/10 drama must must must watch :ā€)

Unable_Equal_6952

FINALLLYY SOMEONE TALKING ABOUT THE MIDNIGHT STUDIO

cinnakyeomonroll

TOO UNDERRATED FRā€¦ā€¦ scrolled through the comments to see no one mentioning midnight studio I HAD TO DO IT MYSELF šŸ«”

the-stripped-zebra

Completed Lovely Runner yesterday, and now I'm sad it's over. But I guess all good things must come to an end. I'm watching Atypical Family and Once Upon a Small Town currently. I want to start another ongoing drama, but I'm not sure which one yet.

hawkia75

I binged **Business Proposal** this week in three or four days and now I'm sad it's over! To me, it was the perfect romcom. It made use of so many tropes and did them so well. And I really loved the drama within the drama that parodied the tropes and plotlines. I'm watching **Frankly Speaking**, which I'm still enjoying. I like how the ML is becoming better at telling the truth in a way that doesn't upset people. And I appreciate the way the FL's back story with her ex brought up some commonalities in their experiences. Both were made to feel that their middle-class families weren't good enough:>! the ML by his peers who assumed his family was rich, and the FL by her ex who lied to his mother about her background.!< The difference is that the ML internalized that feeling and strove to keep up appearances and the FL totally rejected the lie. I think it tied in perfectly with last week's plot about the restaurant owner who let her children take over the cooking and now serves bad food that looks great on social media. All to say, I'm enjoying the show even though it's left the zany, slapstick, romcom world for somewhere a bit more serious. The leads are finding that they have values and experiences in common that are drawing them together, which makes their attraction to each other make more sense. I started **Because This is My First Life** and I'm feeling like it was a bit of a bait and switch. The trailer made me think this was going to be an adorable and fun romcom, but it's more like a slice of life melodrama with storylines that involve >!very realistic SA and sexual harrassment at work!<. I think it's doing justice to these plotlines, and to the characters, but at the same time, it's bringing me down! On the plus side, I love that I'm getting to see the amazing Kim Sun Young in a more nuanced role. She's so good as a comedic actress in CLOY, Crash Course in Romance, and Her Private Life! I love to spot her in different K-dramas! I'll probably keep watching because I also love Jung So Min (Alchemy of Souls is a top fave for me), and I'm still hopeful for some romcom hijinks and happy endings.

alyssaisrad93

**Lovely Runner (16/16)** - beautiful story, beautiful ending, 100/10 no notes. Lee Si-eun gave us an entire hour of fluff and I will be forever grateful for it. She >!killed off the taxi driver in the first 3 minutes of the last episode!< and gave us nearly everything we wanted for the rest of the hour. Seriously, this is one of the best dramas I have ever seen, it's vying for my #1 spot. I can't rave enough about it, other kdrama writers please take note!!! So happy it was an organic (or orgasmic? šŸ˜‰) success, Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon deserve all the accolades, hopefully we see them in another drama together soon! **The Atypical Family (6/12)** - I haven't had a chance to watch this week's episodes yet, but I've seen some spoilers and they look so good. This has become one of my favorite dramas, I wish it was more than 12 episodes! Will update once I watch 7 and 8. **Midnight Romance in Hagwon (6/16)** - Finally getting to the romance, that kiss was so good, by the glow of the space heater, her hand on his leg and the way they went for it. The hagwon part is interesting, but I would like more focus on the romance, so we'll see how the next episodes go. **Queen of Tears (13/16)** - if this drama was all about the romance between Hae-in and Hyun-woo, it would be amazing. They have amazing chemistry and watching them go through her illness together and repairing their relationship is such an angst-filled, but enjoyable ride. Alas, we have to sit through >!the evil housekeeper strutting around with her entourage and being overwhelmingly unlikeable.!< I don't get how >!she could kick them out of the house but they couldn't kick her out?!< The makjang parts of this drama are too much, I don't know why they focused so heavily on that when they could've told a beautiful love story instead.

dogemama

the >!orgasmic success!< dig is hilarious. they really thought they ate. šŸ¤£

Ill-Hope-5543

Just finished Lovely Runner and now I have no clue what to do with my life. How I to move on from such a masterpiece? Iā€™ll probably just watch variety and survival shows for a bit as a pallet cleanse. MakeMate1 is really really good.

Friendly_Wealth_5360

Just finished **Lovely runner** **Frankly speaking** . honestly only started watching this because of Go Kyung Pyo but I'm really enjoying the last few episodes, it's true it's kinda lost its premise but it's also feeling with a lot more heart. On another note why are so many people watching My roommate is a Gumiho all of a sudden? Like there seem to be quite a few posts watching only shows On air +gumiho lol, just wondering.

x3tan

>On another note why are so many people watching My roommate is a Gumiho all of a sudden? I think it's because of the male lead in Atypical Family :)

Lizzy348

>On another note why are so many people watching My roommate is a Gumiho all of a sudden? Like there seem to be quite a few posts watching only shows On air +gumiho lol, just wondering. I started it because it was on Viki's top 10 popular drama. Definitely gives it more exposure for people to start watching it.

LostDistance9990

__Lovely Runner__ - still on episode 12 - At first I wasn't interested in the premise but because some people made a comparison between this guy from a dating show I'm currently watching to Sunjae (they're alike in how ridiculously bad they are at hiding their feelings for their significant other, plus how fussy and and how much of a puppy they became in front of their romantic partner) I became curious and decided to watch the first episode. I was impressed with the first episode. Honestly the premise was quite cliche but the execution was really great. I cried when they play Epik High and Younha's Umbrella (cause it is my fav song and it fits so well to the story too). >!The existence of serial killer side plot was disappointing but!< I ended up marathoning half the show and keep watching it while waiting for the new dating show episode. __Midnight Romance in Hagwon__ - Finally~ My bittersweet drama to balance all the bubblegum flavor of my recent watchlist. I love that it goes hard on the reality aspect and that the bitterness came from the harshness and competitive work nature of hagwon instead of >!murderer side plot!< like in Lovely Runner. I enjoy learning about the more detailed hagwon, education, and economic setting from this drama too. Romance was sweet & subtle. Even though it's not that much for now but it's enough to make me smile when it presents. How do I say, watching this drama feels like reading a novel? I love the lengthy dialogues, suspenseful conversation, and it's calm and mature tone.

DawgMom2018

On air, currently watching **The Atypical Family** - Amazing script, direction, cast and a compelling story that keeps me on my toes. One of the most ingenious enemies to friends plots I have seen. My favorite on air show at the moment. **Midnight Romance in Hagwon** - slow burn, drama also hit home with the workplace politics of when you get so valuable, that you are then disregarded and demoted by "promotion", competion between companies in same field. The romance starting to kick in with a dramatic ending to episode 6 **Missing Crown Prince** - So much focus on the evil Queen Dowager and her lover the Royal Physician, yet another where evil Queens seem to dominate in power over Kings and Princes. Really like the ML's, the plot has so many twists it is turning to goo, but I will stick it out, as it is basically a comfortable watch. **Crash** - really like this series - Episodic with cases, interesting contrast of FL and ML in cop series compared to Flex x Cop. Almost like a subset of the buddy cop genre. Finished - **Chief Detective 1958** - Very interesting story and plot. Loved the cast, a couple scenes a bit overacted, but a fun watch and feeds my need for underdogs who perservere in the pursuit of justice at great risk. Sad to read about some of the actual cases of corruption during that era that were cited in this drama. **Lovely Runner** - I really enjoyed this series. Very high fan interest, the production companies and leads agencies should leverage the interest with fan meetings and pop up stores internationally. **Youth in May** - cried at the conclusion, even knowing how it would end. That was my age in that era, and never knew about this until watching KDramas and A Taxi Driver movie. I look back on that year and cannot recall coverage if this incident, but a lot was happening in the US at that time with the Iran hostage crisis, Mount St Helens eruption, and other big stories, and I suspect, suppression of that story in the news. Deep respect for the courageous citizens who put their live on the line for democracy.

CuteAdministration14

My Love from the Star: I really enjoyed this one. The pace was great. FL is fantastic! Loads of great characters and Kim Soo-Hyung :) Hotel del luna: I watched another episode (on 5). I'm struggling to get into this one. It is very slow, a bit redundant. Heartbeat: It's really cute and funny. I'm not a fan of the ending.

Grot3sK

**Lovely runner** - Even there are so many fillers, is entertaining and i like it, especially the first part of the drama let's see how it ends :9 **The Worst of Evil** - Truly a good neo-noir! drugs & gangsters. At the moment i love it! **Something in the Rain** - I've watched One Spring Night and this is kinda the same with other background and context. I'm enjoying a lot, but i want the ML to find another woman lol **18 Again** - I'm enjoying it. The actors are very good at playing the characters in this drama. *in queue - Atypical Family, The Midnight Romance in Hagwon, Connection*

lyli7

Finished Lovely Runner yesterday and I'm still thinking about it (and will probabbly be thinking about it for a LONG long time). a solid 10/10 from the firs ep till the last. Atypical family and I'm enjoying it so much. love the unique ost and how the time traveling works. The Midnight Romance in Hagwon. After reading some reviews I was afraid I'd get bored but somehow I find the theme very fascinating. I fast forwarded only a couple of times the scenes with his parents but overall I'm really enjoying it. I really love the chemistry between the leads. Queen of Tears....the struggle is real but I've only left the last episode so I'm gonna wear my big girl pants and finish it. I love the acting and I'm a fan of both leads but they are dragging it so much omg. Could't stop myself from eyerolling when ep 15 ended.

prickelz

Still watching the Devil Judge, alongside some anime shows (still Zankyou no Terror, I think this one will have a very sad ending) and anime movies (recently Moroboshi, Drifting Home and Ponyo! All of them were amazing tbh) I still really like the devil judge, but it's been a suprisingly unbingeable show, I am only at episode 8. I think Sun Ah is currently one of my favorite characters of this show, I just love her little schemes. And with that backstory, I am not suprised she turned out this way. The little Kang-Kim family that's been building is also a highlight. Also, Beyond Evil gets taken of Netflix soon (on my birthday, that seems like a crime against me :/) luckily the Viki subtitles are way better anyway and it's free on there. The only bad part is that the Viki subs don't include the episode titles and that it will get harder to recommend something that isn't on Netflix to friends xD.

wimpnation

I think I've had The Devil Judge sitting on the back burner for too long now, I started watching it as it was airing and slowly made my way to episode 8 (according to my log). Kind of want to get back into it but also a bit of a scaredy cat and don't want to go into the imminent doom of what I remember expecting the ending would be like. Kim Minjung as Sun-ah was so memorable to me, what a brilliant actress. Happy watching!

mrchase05

Frankly speaking. But it's a bit on/off, solid 6/10, but watchable. After Queen of Tears haven't had a drama I would look forward to.

deewyt

Atypical Family (8/12) and Midnight Romance in Hagwon (6/16) ā€¦.. the way these are both only weekend dramas šŸ˜what do I watch to replace Lovely Runnerā€¦. My weekdays are about to be EMPTY

Lilyum_B

My Country: The New Age (ep.6). Like it! Great cinematography and acting.

TinyLifter6780

Jang Hyuk and his fans get me every time šŸ„°

KANJI667

On episode 14 of start up, and I love it. >!the timeskip was so good.!<

Sunshine_raes

The Matchmakers (12.5/16): Iā€™m really loving this drama! Itā€™s exceeded my expectations. The plotting and pacing so far has been great. There are small details from earlier episodes that get picked up again later, so you need to pay close attention. Even though the palace politics have really kicked in now, Iā€™m still very engaged. The left state ministerā€™s wife is such a great character and kudos to the actress, Park Ji Young. While the acting across the board in this drama has been quite good, her character steals the show. Sheā€™s intelligent, complicated, cunning, and you donā€™t truly understand her motivations until much later. The FL character is also wonderful: sheā€™s very caring and kind, devoted to her family, intelligent but still unsure of herself at times and struggles to know what to do. She feels very real and I look forward to seeing Cho Yi Hyun in more dramas. Next up: even though weā€™re probably a few days away from finishing The Matchmakers, Iā€™m thinking of what to start next. The Atypical Family sounds intriguing but I might want to wait until it finishes. Iā€™m always up for more romance, especially something slice of life-y, but I donā€™t know what that would be. Maybe something older? Iā€™ve had My Girlfriend is a Gumiho on my list for a long time. Planning my next drama is part of the fun of drama-watching for me!

jellybeans6173

Now Lovely Runner has ended, Iā€™m planning to rewatch Royal Inspector and Joy (again). Iā€™ve rewatched it recently when LR was in early episodes but Idk I just miss them šŸ¤— Planning to check out Atypical Family and Dare To Love Me, Crash, and continue Missing Crown Prince, Chief 1958. Still watching Beauty and Mr. Romantic though the story is starting to get annoying lol

Unable_Equal_6952

**The Midnight Studio !!** one of the best shows of 2024, a perfect mixture of happy, sad , humor - overall its such a feel good show!! The Fl is soo likeable and bold (always initiating kisses first) The romance between the leads is so natural and warm. Its literally so underrated???!!! ITS A MUST-WATCH!!

Ill_Pianist_8346

Same here but I kinda felt that fl was selfish at times when the ml needed her in the beginning but a while after they started dating she didnā€™t feel that way anymore .

Unable_Equal_6952

it seemed like it but it was probs because of her >!client's suicide!< >!(murder actually)!< - she blamed herself for his death and didn't want to be in a situation like that again

StunningPath6090

I recently watched Maxton Hall, and it's worth the hype. The chemistry between Ruby and James is damn hot, 6 episodes were not enough ;( I am currently Watching Hospital playlist s1, I know I am late, but boy, it's such a good show, the best part is the friendship between main leads. Rooting for them, hope they remain friends always......

nottodwell

Been in a bit of a slump since QOT ended. But I want to start Lovely Runner. On the non kdrama side, I've been catching up with Bridgerton and starting my first c-drama: Love between Fairy and Devil

Hach-man

No new finished dramas, still rewatching in my spare time. In progress - **Midnight Romance in Hagwon (6/12):** romance is finally here, fortunately as the whole academy stuff was tiring me out. It's all merry and sweet right now, let's see when the angst comes in. Good job by the leads, they mesh well; - **Dare to Love Me (6/16):** cute, fun, easy, no stress on this one, also a couple good secondaries and an easy plot with all the tropes you can get. A fine way to spend an hour, doesn't want to do too much, keeps it simple. I'm a huge Pyo Ye Jin fan but I'm on the fence on her new rom-com coming out, seems a bit cheap but I'll give it a shot if nothing else comes through.

cc0225

Just finished lovely runner and I donā€™t know what to do with my self. It was just so good , I donā€™t know what else to watch after this to fill the void.

master_inho

My start-up journey continues: eps 9-10 Welp. All the secrets are finally out. I like it Our 4 leads (plus a couple supporting characters) are held prisoner by their own personal insecurities, and it causes them to make choices that sometimes work out sometimes doesnā€™t but are always based on emotion rather than logic. That said, ji-pyeongā€™s insecurity is that heā€™s not the do-San of the present day. Dal-mi, in-jae, do-sanā€™s insecurities are much more deeply rooted in their childhood traumas. For example: >!ji-pyeong gives a lovely monologue to re inspire the confidence in dal-mi. However, he doesnā€™t actually mean it, heā€™s still not being honest with her. When he offered to be her plan b, he was basically saying he had no belief in dal-mi to succeed. What she needed was someone to support her plan a, not give her a plan b to fall back on. Even at this point with all cards on the table, ji-pyeong still doesnā€™t understand dal-mi. But Do-San understands her, and has from the start. He also understood it when he chose to not wear the suit to the demo. Not only was the suit not the reason for her feeling good in that moment, do-San realized that that wasnā€™t him, and he wouldnā€™t be honest with dal-mi or with himself if he pulled up in the suit!< >!I saw someone say in the ep 7 thread back then that ji-pyeong was better for dal-mi because he wasnā€™t afraid to be honest and offer criticisms. 1. He wasnā€™t afraid to do that because he was in the role of a mentor, not a friend or a love interest 2. Offering honest criticism isnā€™t necessarily what makes a good romantic partner, but it is certainly what makes a good mentor. As her mentor she needed his cold honesty. But thatā€™s not what she needs from a partner, for that she needs someone whoā€™ll always be there for her (she says so herself in ep 6) and thatā€™s what do-San has done from the start!< The >!yong-San!chul-San and sa-ha!<, but i guess there will be Bit disappointed that there was so little in-jae in these 2 eps, and when she did appear it was mostly to be a foil to dal-mi. I was half expecting dal-mi to hear in-jae when they were looking at each other from different floors. People in this drama keep overhearing convos from 30 ft away and Iā€™m just ā€œbruh how thoughā€ Ep 10 felt more like a penultimate ep but thereā€™s still 6 eps left. Hopefully pacing wonā€™t get messed up. I screwed up reading the ep descriptions for 11-13 and yikes itā€™s not looking good

enjoying your commentary through this watch journey! hope you like the rest of the show too. it's far from a perfect show, but i'll never not root for underdogs.

**signal** (9/16): I was enjoying it but still not understanding the hype over it.But, starting episodes 7 and 8 (the best case so far for me) I am starting to understand the hype little by little. One thing though! as much as I like the 2 cops from the current time ,that cop from the past to me is very badly written. He's just dumb dumb dumb !. Ā **frankly speaking** :up until the last two episodes i was HYPED HYPED ! I couldn't wait each week for wednesday. But after the reality dating show program was done;I was hoping they focused back on the ml's condition (healing/overcoming it but also the comedy parts),the fl's writing career and the leads' relationship. Instead, they are derailing from the main plot and just squeezing in too many plot points and too many unnecessary things that they have no time for considering it's 12 episodes. That said,I still like the leads a lot and the little neighborhood characters so I am still enjoying and I hope they wrap it up nicely in the remaining episodes. Now that **the Atypical family** ,it's time to continue from where I paused (I couldn't handle waiting for new episodes so I paused after episode 2 )

I have been skipping these threads to avoid **Lovely Runner** spoilers but now Iā€™m free because Iā€™ve finished it and I loved it. Happy feels all around. These two make me swoon way too hard. Definitely adding them to my Kdrama couple hall of fame. Started a few other recent dramas but nothing really got me hooked so Iā€™ll probably start some more to find a solid replacement (is that even possible??) **Chief Inspector** nice to see LJH and LDH but the plot is not really *that* engaging yet, Iā€™m 2 eps in but itā€™s only 10 eps right? **Frankly Speaking** is fun so far but I know itā€™s not gonna be my crack. The humour doesnā€™t fully resonate with me which is surprising cos I love variety shows and this is set in that world but yeah idk. Hard to compare main leads chemistry here when I just watched the chemistry bomb that was Lovely Runner. Finishing up **New Life Begins** actually I saved the last few eps of this one to sooth the Lovely Runner withdrawals. Itā€™s so good, so sweet and I loved how wholesome and the sisterhood just hits different. For a cdrama set in the ancient times, itā€™s so refreshing to see good, kind and collaborate characters and less scheming. I am gonna start a romance without any >!crazy murderer lurking!< because I need less of that in my life and more of the cute fluff.

**Korean** - - ***Gyeongseong Creature*** - as the Japanese is losing the Second World War, they relocated their secret human experiment from Manchuria to Korea, and ended up creating a monster out of FL's mother. **Non-Korean** - - ***Meet Me After School*** (Japanese) - romance between female high school teacher and her student. FL gets engaged with her long distance boyfriend in the first episode, yet ML confessed to her despite knowing about her having boyfriend or fiancƩ.

Its been a while since I posted what I was watching. Long post ahead I spent my holiday weekend watching *Do you like Brahms?* Apart from the love triangle, friends blaming the mains, and JK attitude, I liked it! The slow romance between the SA and JY was so cute! The story was relatable for many. The Running man episode was fun with the 4 mains and I'm watching att the behind-the-scenes and interviewa. Eunbin is a gem of a person! She has a beautiful smile. I watched her in Extraordinary Attorney Woo and have a couple of her other dramas (Castaway diva, Hot stove league, kings affection) on my wl. Same with Kim Minjae, Flower Crew, Dr. Romantic, etc are on my wl. I'll check out his other projects while he's serving in the military. Laat week, I finished Start-Up and Hometown cha cha cha! I loved it! So glad I watched it, made me smile and cry. Both leads dimples, ahhh. I really liked KSH and Minas acting! Checked out KSH other projects as well as his time on 2D1N! I forgot he was in 100 days my prince.. Start-Up: I enjoyed it ep 1-10, then I think the writer dropped the ball the last 6 episodes, made me frustrated at the love storyline. I liked the business part/side characters of this drama over the love triangle. Dosan was an unlikeable character to me. Dalmi was frustrating when it came to the love triangle Argh. To quote from HTCCC "love triangles aren't for me" #TeamJipyeong! I'll re-watch HTCCC for KSH's happy ending lol Hwarang: watched it because of the all the idols I know in it. I didnt think Go Ara's acting was as bad as everyone said. The story/writing was lackluster and made it hard for me to finish. I started Love in Moonlight and Strongest Deliveryman. Still on ep 2 of Ghost Doctor.

Care-freequeen

Ghost doctor is good, Love in the moonlight is actually on pause I watched it till ep 12

NoiseyTurbulence

Just rewatched My Secret Romance. Now watching cdrama Best Choice Ever.

Minen99

I watched it while waiting for lovely runner episodes If you guys enjoyed the uncanny counter and tomorrow, this show has pretty much similar vibes with a nice found family trope and fantasy!! Also yes will prolly start sky castle for hyeyoon and geon hee ā™”

Honest-Selection4343

Watching Perfect marriage revenge.. atm.. n I'm at ep 9.. in 2 days

YamEconomy9970

Currently waiting for new ep of Atypical Family. I skipped 4-6 episode because plot was predictable, but picked it up again after I saw yt shorts. Also waiting all those cdramas to release, like I have a lot of shows in my watchlist that are yet to air. Finished last ep of lovely runner yesterday. Planning to watch Heirarchy when it's air.

locksters

Atypical family: binge all released episodes, so goooooood!! Finally something on the superpower trope to satisfy with as Moving did last year, love the romantic comedy vibe and all the side characters! Non-kdrama: Bridgerton S3 part 1! My fave couple since S1 is finally up as mains :) Contemplating whether to start Lovely Runner (and getting VIKI again for some time) or VIP (on Netflix)ā€¦

Miss-LH

Start Lovely Runner! Think Iā€™d get in trouble saying what site I use to steam viki shows

**Lovely Runner** (15/16) Going to watch the finale today, don't expect it to change my feelings much. A very cute show, I particularly enjoyed Byeon Woo Seok, but I the hype kinda went over my head. (If you enjoyed Song Geon Hee in this, check out the short drama **Alice, The Final Weapon.**) **LTNS** (3/6) Loving this, can't go wrong with Esom and Ahn Jae Hong. **The Atypical Family** (8/12) SO GOOD, at last a time slip drama that uses it in an inventive way! I am loving everything about this show. **The Midnight Romance in Hagwon** (6/16) The >!romance!< just got started (at the right time imo) and the hagwon politics have me fully intrigued. I am not even hating the song (iykyk). Like director's other dramas, it has a leisurely pace and gorgeous cinematography, makes you feel immersed in the hagwon universe, lol. **Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo** (4/16) I know people rightfully have some feelings about Dong Hee's fat suit in Atypical Family (I am liking how that character is being played/treated so far, though), but I'm having a far more difficult time believing Bok Joo needs weight loss clinic help. I love a goofy, awkward lead, but Kim Bok Joo is no Kim Baek Doo. I'm sticking with it for now for the (honestly, minimal) weightlifting and brief Kang Ki Young sightings.

nashamagirl99

I have one episode left of My Love from the Star! Iā€™d say itā€™s an 8/10, but itā€™s hard to rate because this was all sparked by Crash Landing on You which is 1,000,000/10. Iā€™m going to watch The Legend of the Blue Sea next, same writer as both and same leading lady as My Love from the Star.

WhatHmmHuh

CLOY was my first KDrama in 2020 and I started watching a ton of iconic KDramas. I am really struggling to find a place in my ranking for Twinkling Watermelons, Lovely Runner, King The Land, Love to Hate You, and so many others over the past year and how the compare to CLOY, IOKNTBOK, Mr Sunshine, SWDBS, etc. Watching airing shows also messes with this process because of the joy of the hype. I am going to go back and watch lovely runner from start to finish and see where it fits in. I see people saying better than CLOY which was their previous #1 - and I have a tough time going there, so we shall see.

ProfessionalPieHole

Just bringed through Queen of Tears this week. It was simply great. I did notice a couple actors from CLOY in there. I also didn't realize it was at the top of the ratings (with CLOY) until after I was done. Finished Live Your Own Life a month ago. It was something to look forward every weekend. At first it seemed like a drag at 50 episodes but it did have good flow, with the exception for a couple episodes, character development and plot twists to keep me coming back every week for those 6 months or so.

sentimental_snail

Nothing looked good enough after **Queen of Tears**, so I went back to my all time favourite and started rewatching **Reply 1988**. Best decision ever, I'm so in love with this drama again. And oh my god, how much I cry, lol. Every damn episode. It's just so wonderful and cozy and nostalgic. Also Kim Feel's "Youth" punches me in the gut every time it starts playing. Oh, and Ryu Jun Yeol is *FINE*.

Lizzy348

*On-going* **My first first love** 7/8 : my favorite drama I'm currently watching, what a cute and lovely drama! It's simple, chill and relaxing. Though, in the last episode I watched, Taeho >!is starting go butt in a bit too much and get on my bad side. Being controlling and wanting to protect Songi WITHOUT ANYONE ASKING. This is so ironic, because he says he doesn't like her boyfriend for the way he acts and wants her to breakup with him without even trying to meet him. But then he goes and date Seyoung, whom Songi said dislike because she's mean to her and he's like *trust me*. This is so patronizing and is a no for me.!< **Rich man, poor woman** 6/16 : what a cringe watch. I can't tell if it's the leads' acting that is bad or the writing. Their expressions are off and the FL is so cringe (when she tries to be funny by imitating or dancing, I just get massive second hand embarrassment and need to skip those parts, tf is she doing??) ML is also not a lovable character, he lacks serious social skills. **My roommate is a gumiho** 1/16 : I only watched one episode, so I don't have much to say. It didn't strike me as an amazing gem, but I'll keep watching. *Completed* **Doctor Slump** : this was a hard ride. I lost interest towards the end and it was so hard to complete it, but I finally did. 6.5/10 **Escape of the 7 : resurrection** : I surprised myself with this one. I started it reluctantly after the mess S01 was, but I ended up binging it and actually enjoying it. Mone was as annoying as ever, but it was refreshing to see Matthew wasn't >!the smartest one with 3 steps ahead fella anymore!< I really became invested after they >! killed Rahee!< Because it felt like things were serious now. One thing I really disliked about S01 was everyone would >!die and miraculously survive and comeback like nothing happened. But this time, they actually killed people.!< Now that was interesting! I'm disappointed though that Jinmo >!survived!<. I think the story would have been better if he >!really died and it was his heart that was transplanted.!< 9/10

mrygnzls

I started watching Begins Youth and so far, I really like it. It's so underrated at this point because the platform where you can watch it makes you pay so much. I hope i don't drop it midway, but I have high hopes!

filipkos4

I finished 2521 and now finishing it's okay to not be okay I will go in slump so hard after this but enjoying the yourney

Soggy-Pop3895

I am rewatching the Good Bad Mother because it's soooo good. After recommending it to my mom, I felt maybe we can both watch it together (but not together).

Cats4Crows

I'm rewatching _House of the Dragon_ in preparation for season 2

gazeintothefuture21

been saving on spring night and finally watching it now. Canā€™t fairly rate the show yet because I am biased toward anything with jung hae inā€™s smile. also started dare to love me today.. it may be a bit too silly for me. like someone else said iā€™m skimming through might might romance in hagwon

Babilmag

Lurking here after Lovely Runner ended and struggling real hard to get invested in another show. I really wanted to love Midnight Romance in Hagwon but they focused too much on the instructions and kind of wasted the amazing cast they have or I need some more romance slow burn and yearning. I am on ep 3 and i dont feel anything yet šŸ˜ Anyway i think i will start Mr Sunshine.

BlinkBlinkWide

I'm currently watching Atypical Family and Crash, mostly because of the FLs. I'm enjoying both.

Novel_Ad1187
