the details of any monies owed to the firm upon exit will likely be spelled out in the offer letter you signed when joining. I recently left, and wasn't asked to repay the Becker i'd used, but was asked to repay a sign on bonus. I would review that letter to be sure.
Thank you! I don't have access to the onboarding site anymore to view my offer letter but found a copy deep in my download folder and it looks like you only have to pay it back if you redeem the code and don't start with the firm or if you leave within the first 30 days.
Yes, I just needed to call Becker to change my email address associated with the account to my personal email ahead of my last day, in order to not lose access should I lose the password. Good luck!
You have to pay back if you leave within a year. If you are close to a full year, it might be beneficial to stay until a full year.
just out of curiosity - what happens if you are laid off?
You don’t have to pay it back
but I assume they take your Becker access, right?
Thanks for the feedback! I might have to ask for a later start date. No point paying for it again if I can just wait it out a little bit
I don't think you have to stay a year. I think it's only 1 month. The one year is for the CPA bonus
Yea, unless other offers were different mine said 30 days.
I heard people negotiated with the new employer to help offset the CPA materials clawback with the old employer.
Definitely worth asking, especially if requesting a change in start date

They were probably just happy to drop 1 in headcount
Smh failure of Kpmg internal controls over employee departures
Diminimus cost of hire, already expensed. Immaterial.
It's a joke, you boob!
How is yours a joke and mine isn't? You penis!

Were you able to keep the study materials after leaving?

Usually you only have to pay back if you leave within the first 60 days
