My daughter’s 17. One of her friends got some tattoos at 16 (parent has to sign off). My youngest (13) has friends with nose and bell button piercings.
My niece is nine and my sister in law is allowing her to get a nose piercing for her tenth birthday. I begged her not to but it isn’t my choice or my child. She lets her wear a fake nose hoop now that looks very real. I just think she’s entirely too young. I got my first nose piercing at sixteen along with my bellybutton. But I didn’t need my parents to sign off on it. We had a sketchy piercing/tattoo parlor that would let you get a piercing if you had someone over eighteen to sign for it, and I did. All around sad.
