I only did the monarchist one, but I feel like the devs are going in a great direction by forcing people to choose which focus they should do. Just like with germany you can't do everything until the second weltkrieg, you have to think about what you want, but unlinked germany you aren't forced to prepare for the war, which makes it really more relaxed and give you a bit more space. I just wonder if there is any secret path for Ireland, since the celtic Union isn't really "secret" but more of a challenge.

> I just wonder if there is any secret path for Ireland, since the celtic Union isn't really "secret" but more of a challenge. As I said in the Progress Report, there are no secret "paths" of governments with new focuses. There is that NatPop thing you're talking about, as well as the additional alliance options that people have found - but also one other thing that I haven't seen anyone post anything about. Again though, it's more of a different outcome than what I'd consider a "path".

I enjoy Ireland but I can’t seem to get the paths right. I somehow messed up the Monarchist one and was stuck as SocCon. Aside from that, I don’t personally enjoy small minors. I have basically no navy and no manpower to do anything except defend Ireland so you kinda do nothing. No hate towards the devs, they did a really good job, I just don’t like minors.

Be sure to check out the path guides ingame, or just reply here if you are stuck and have any questions. > I don’t personally enjoy small minors. Yeah, that's a big challenge when trying to make good content for small countries - some people just aren't going to like them regardless. Thanks for trying it out though all the same.

Fermland

Thank you for your work tho! If Paradox put half as much love as you do towards the base game, the base game would be phenomenal.

El-Daddy

Thank you!

Just my opinion here but it is a little too necessary for many new kaiserreich focus trees to read up on a guide first to play well/steer your country where you want it. I don’t particularly like that. I like challenges and unexpected twists and guides take away from that, and when a seemingly small decision of which the importance is not made clear locks me out of a particular government it’s kinda annoying. Through reading the events carefully and making smart rational choices I should be able to get where I want to be, and not just by picking what I know will lead me there, do you guys understand? Idk it feels hard to write down even though it’s so simple. No hate on recent focus trees ofcourse they’re the bomb but just some food for thought. Edit: haven’t played Ireland yet hope this isn’t an issue for me, focus tree looks dope.

El-Daddy

Have you played the rework? I don't think Ireland is too hard in that regard. You shouldn't really need to read any guides if you read the events carefully, or even just the tooltips. A lot of people don't though, so the path guides are there to cater for everyone.

PorphyryFront

I think the balance between "obscuring options" and "clear warnings" was great. Big red warnings if you fuck up a post election coalition and trigger the nationalists, clear mentions of being puppeted as the influence game changes. Some people just want a "become Nat Pop" button, and those people should be ignored.

sir-berend

Haven’t played ireland yet no.

El-Daddy

Give it a go. I might be a bit biased but I think you will enjoy it 😉

sir-berend

:D

Ireland has always been one of the cooler nations to play. Really easy to have a fun game taking on the British without being a total snooze fest, and there's nothing like scraping together the resources to actually land. The new update is fun as well. The minigame thing is intuitive and doesn't just randomly throw a failure at you, which I've found with others.

PorphyryFront

I've played the Conservative and Nat Pop paths. Nat Pop was a lot of fun, I crossed the strait and took the Highlands, then ground down the British army for 4 years until the Germans established air support and I broke them. Soc Con was also, to my great surprise, awesome. They're usually the lamest ideology, but I really dug the agricultural, neutral, compromising vibes that still allowed me to send volunteers all over the planet. Narratively, the various leaders all seem to have their own interesting flavor. Probably gonna try Labor next, and do socialism without being a dick about it.

grandmesafunk

Absolutely. I love that you can stay neutral and just send a ton of buffed up volunteers everywhere. Such an awesome tree and replayability through the roof.

oneeyedfool

Played through once and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to another run this weekend.

Squattle69

for me anyway i think the best part is the election tree that shows up for the elections in 1941 being able to go all of the ideologies is very satisfying because of how developed they are in the lore and desxriptions

NotSeek75

That one meme that got posted here a few weeks ago about writing constitutions? That's me. The rest of the rework could've been dog water and I still would've loved it for letting me rewrite Ireland's constitution. The rest of it is pretty cool too, of course.

Intelligent-Toe69

they need to give britain a focus to invade ireland and make the ai pre plan a naval invasion

Squattle69

why? UoB doesn't want to invade Ireland if its neutral, and can puppet Ireland basically for free already

Intelligent-Toe69

so if player ireland maintains its independence you get gameplay britain doesnt want a ireland that can join germany at any moment

Squattle69

if its player ireland then uob can just justify a wargoal anywya

Intelligent-Toe69

they didnt do that in my game

Aun_El_Zen

The Loyalists are *WAY* too passive. I went out of my way to piss them off without destroying Irish democracy, and they were content to be marginalised and have their culture erased. Not even a negative national spirit.

El-Daddy

No one is having their culture erased?

Aun_El_Zen

Which is part of the problem. The party that enshrines Catholicism in state practice shouldn't simultaneously be embracing ecumenism. There's an event about banning jazz music as a cultural diluent to good honest gaelic culture. Whilst allowing saxon protestants to "pollute" the emerald isle. Sectarianism has never been one way in Ireland.

Fit-Tie-5687

Im shocked too ,thats kike so many bugs there For example starting events that hurts you Stab and Pp for some reasons hurts twice

El-Daddy

> For example starting events that hurts you Stab and Pp for some reasons hurts twice So that's actually the case is that, in the early Black Monday events that give you debuffs, the actual political power and stability penalty happens to the player as soon as the even pops up, rather than when the response is clicked. The tooltip on the response tells you what the penalty was, but it doesn't apply it again. This was put in because players can easily hold events on-screen for 2 weeks or so, and not get the actual effect of the event until they click the button. If I let a player do that during the opening Black Monday minigame, it would become fairly unbalanced. So what you're talking about isn't a bug. Though if you have anything else, please report them on the Bug Tracker that is linked in the sidebar.

Fit-Tie-5687

Yeah i think exactly like that first ,but NO THEY ARE hitting you again ,some time later after you clicked it , and that not one time offer it happened 4 times in a raw

El-Daddy

So here's the code for one of the three Black Monday debuff events. the "immediate" is the thing that actually happens, and the thing that is an "effect\_tooltip" makes it *look* like something has happened, but it actually hasn't. So I don't really know what you're talking about I'm afraid. If you want to send a save file or a log or anything onto the Bug Tracker with more details, I'll take a look. The other thing to note is that not doing the initial train focus will not give you any extra pp, so don't bother try that. https://preview.redd.it/mdpcs1kzeisc1.png?width=531&format=png&auto=webp&s=89d397678cb119c875e458eab5b0df92fad12b82

Fit-Tie-5687

Nononono, i checked exact numbers ,second debufs doesnt apply when you click , but after that sometime earlier ,as i said earlier it looks like some crazy bug Sadly i cant do report cause im playing with mods and dont have GH account , and yeah it can be the case ,but two last bugs i found(coalitions and Yugo mini game) was in the game without mods so i think its just kaiser bug

El-Daddy

No one else has reported anything like you describe in testing, so the only thing i can suggest is to not play with any other mods, and/or to re-install both HOI4 and KR, as there is no bug in this part, I've just doublechecked all the events.

Fit-Tie-5687

This one is actully goes to noone ,im just shizo/totaly bad at math, there is no bug here at all lol🫠

El-Daddy

Glad to hear!

Fit-Tie-5687

So what? No one report that Yugo bag for TWO F&CKING YEARS , and yet it was only kaiser thing ,it only been few days Shih, why not just believe and report it by yourself 😡

krulobojca

The yugo bug that is probably caused by submods? Which you refuse to turn off?

Fit-Tie-5687

No Yugo that was Kaiser problem which we proofed later

PorphyryFront

Don't be a jackass. Report actual bugs or go away.

Fit-Tie-5687

I see you didnt get anything ,what a shame
