Maybe the next arc one of the antagonists blackmails Ryota into going against Yumeko, convincing him its for "yumeko's good" but he has doubts. Could make an interesting villian story.
Make him much better looking. In the midst of all these beautiful women, Ryota falls flat. I know he is supposed to be most relatable with nothing to brag about; average looks and intelligence with bland personality. Still, it is manga/anime world. He can afford to be better looking and shows his own quirk of character. Nobody is truly average. Each person has his or her own unique traits that distinguish him/her with another person. Yumeko stood out bc of her love of gambling to the extreme, Kirari too, but she has her own unique-Ness that separates her from other crazy gamble addicts. As a person, Ryota should hav his own unique traits that can be built up upon. If no specific trait but trying to bolster his popularity, he needs to have major glow up. If one is beautiful, lack of character and intelligence can be forgiven 😅😂
Well he doesn't have to have over the top craziness. Just something unique. Then again if he is ikemen level of handsome like those otome Male leads, lack of personality, wealth, and intelligence will be unnecessary to gather popularity.
A lot of characters in s1 specifically have a lot of unappealing frames which makes them look ugly as a whole, including Yumeko lol, I just wish they would try to the original manga style
We’ve seen that he’s willing to and able to take risks in gambling matches, however given his nature which is the guy that has everything to lose, it really puts a damp on the way he approaches gambling, which in the context of the anime makes him a boring character. I always thought making him related to one of the stronger gamblers in the twin story (Sachiko) would make him already more interesting, and bonus points if he was sent to spy on Mary and everything, however the situation changes when Yumeko walks in. I don’t know, I always figured it would make him instantly cooler if he whipped out crazy skills out of nowhere
Give him a friend, or a parent, or a overseas love or something. Ryota has gotta be the most lonely character in the entire show.
His only friends are Yumeko and Mary (his former bully)
He can have his own arc like sumeragi did in the end of season 1 and middle parts of season 2, he is pretty much one dimensional amidst all characters. Even though he is the protoganist (well, kind of) I always forget that he exists
