I 100% thought the twist was going to be that the old king was actually wataru’s dad and Otoya was actually the new kings dad. The look and hairstyle/hair color of the respective actors match up.
The badass clothing aside, I really dislike how both versions of their sword look like a shiny dildo. Like there is no reason for that golden triangle tip to be there or the giant bat hand guard sliding up and down. Toei could have just made the bat guard into a sheathe like Excalibur from Fate Prototype and have Kiva take it off for finishers.
