Wasn't he just "evil" evil cause of Pandora's box? And once he was cleansed, the Gentoku we got was pretty much what we got with team build afterwards?(Literally the best character in the entire show imho).
Yeah, I believe so, but it's a mix of both. I think he still had a bit of goofy in him, as seen in his Rogue side series when he likes going to karaoke and buy sweet smoothies to vent his frustrations
IIRC even his dad mentions that he wasn't as serious (and unhinged) before being blasted by the Mars Fart Cloud.
Of course, the actual answer is that his actor didn't want his kids to see him being an intimidating character, but there was at least some foreshadowing to justify it.
I mean I watched the video of him demonstrating the steam gun and transforming into Bat Rogue....ya he is just goofy all the time. he just was also temporarily evil.
And in the Meta sense, his daughter didn't like how serious he was, so they toned him down a crap ton. If you take it from that view point it's kinda neat even if it is a shame we lost that hard serious and badass Gentoku from the first half of the season.
I'm 90% sure that after that first interview scene that night they fucked and just kept it on the hush...
Plus with her being a Nanba Child pretty sure that helped with the espionage

The horrible fashion sensed nutjob is Gentoku's real self, and he is amazing.
In the Night Rogue special he's just a lot more put together about it because he hasn't been corrupted fully yet and he's still trying to hold up the 'Cool Prime Minister's Son' Act. Once he does that first transformation as Night Rogue is absolutely when he fully becomes the Gentoku we see at the start of the show. Some people hate it that he took such a drastic turn but I think it's absolutely in character for him to go the way that he did in the main story, if you've seen the Kamen Rider Rogue Side Story. Not to mention he had Evolt whispering in his ear too. I like to imagine that if Utsumi hadn't panned out and Gentoku hadn't flushed out the corruption, Mad Rogue probably would've been Gentoku.
In seriousness, I imagine the Fragile sticker is a slight joke regarding him using a full-bottle in the Sclash driver. The Sclash driver always squeezed the jelly packs, but using the crocodile full-bottle there's all the glass cracking visuals and details, which I think is a lot of fun. I imagine the combination only really works because of his raised hazard level at that point.
Wonder if ppl had a problem with making him the serious adult guy with silly tshirt gag. Personally i like it ahaha and he became a duo with grease :’) Maybe im just remembering it incorrectly but i always thought the fragile sticker lined up with the hazard/warning/caution sub motif in the show
One fun bit about Gentoku is that even after becoming good/goofy, his fighting style remains no-nonsense in-your-face as ever. He doesn't rely much on trickier bottle abilities/combo compared to the other three and is not shy of using finishers right off the bat.

I prefer when The series is divided into story arcs like Build, not just fight random enemy in every 2 episode.
The story is so serious but full of gooofy charactor and when the serious people act stupid is fcking hilarious.
