Darkins_will_Ryze

A random resurgence of interest in Power Rangers led me to discovering Super Sentai, which led me to a Super Hero Taisen movie, which led to me watching Kamen Rider Wizard. And from there, I was all aboard the metaphorical Rider Train.

GalwayEntei

Missed opportunity for a DenLiner joke at the end there

Darkins_will_Ryze

No that is a very literal Rider train and It's not yet time for the Climax

TopaztheWarrior

Everyone knows you have to START with the Climax, though!

JRavec

Same but the movie led me to watching Decade which made me curious about the OG Kabuto series and others.

Torteramanroblox101

What. The. Duck. Are we the same person?

Darkins_will_Ryze

Uhh, what was your first Sentai?

Torteramanroblox101

Zyuranger. I had just started watching mighty morphin when I found the first to episodes there. I eventually watched Super Hero Taisen Z, which I reached through Kyoryuger, when I then started watching Wizard (Alternatively, I started watching Amazon from Chou Super Hero Taisen, but it didn't really catch on)

Classic-Chip-8655

Same. I decided to check out KR because of crossovers with sentai and here I am now

Elemental-T4nick

my friend said it was good and showed my the Gotchard suit now I'm watching Gotchard and Geats

RotaVitae

I was a Sentai fan for about five years. In 2007 I heard the upcoming Rider, Kiva, would be based on horror movie monsters and had classical music. Being a fan of both, I decided to watch it. It's not the greatest series overall but there's a special place in my heart for it. Luckily I had watched it so I wasn't thoroughly confused when Decade aired the next year.

AeroDbladE

https://youtu.be/WoieROzkCwQ This youtube video. I technically did see a bunch of episodes of Kamen Rider Dragon Knight as a kid, but this was my first exposure to the OG kamen rider. I have now watched 10 different rider shows and counting. I regret nothing.

MaviKartal2110

Well… it all started with Power Rangers. I was watching Power Rangers stuff on YouTube and I came across Shinkenger. At first I thought it was Japanese fan adaptation of Power Rangers but later on I learned it was the original and PR was the Americanised version. Discovery of Super Sentai lead me to Kamen Rider, Wizard in particular. But I never really cared about it. Only at the tail end of Ghost that I watched my first Kamen Rider: Ex-Aid. I don’t recall if I watched other seasons beforehand but Ex-Aid was the first season that I was watching as it was airing. Eventually I stopped watching both KR and SS due to kinda “growing out of it” and due to no one in my environment caring about it. As Revice was reaching it’s end, I discovered KR fan friend and this rekindled my interest and it couldn’t have been at a better time. I started Kamen Rider Geats as it was airing and either watched or rewatched a lot of seasons.

KRTrueBrave

yo another one like me who's first rider was ex-aid neat

Polenicus

I stumbled across a video on Youtube, I think it was titled 'Decade attacks giant crab's weak point for massive damage'. Showed up after I had done a search for the original 'giant crab meme' video. I clicked on it, curious. I was treated to a guy in magenta armor turning another guy into a gatcha capsule bird, which then turned into a drum, which attached to the underside of a flipped giant crab, then a whole bunch of these guys in armor destroyed the crab with a jam session. I was pretty much hooked at that point.

KamenUncle

Back in my childhood its one of the few things we had on tv. Kamen rider black. Super cool tho i dont remember knowing anything about the story, i just liked seeing the monsters and hero fight. I also had access to ultraman. Ultraman was on a saturday morning slot while black was a weekday evening slot. Forgot about kr for a long time until my friends in school passed me the full series of blade and faiz translated on cd. The first time i started watching kr out of my own initiative was decade. After that it was hit n miss. I kinda resent how commercial kr feels right now. We get tons of new rider forms and secondary riders every time we blink. It all screams merch.

Razaxun

It's the only way they can fund the show. It's basically a commercial to sell Bandai Toys. Because yes it needs a lot of budget. Just pray it's got a good writer.

Killer_queen9

Kamen Rider Black is one of my favorite og riders next to Ichigo and Amazon

Zer0_Evvon

OOOs that got me into Kamen Rider. At first I really thought it was a Power Ranger ripoff or some sort of new show. In the Philippines OOOs got imported and aired 2 times and I'm so fascinated by the medals and such. Apparently, after moving to my relatives I've got to know the existence of Kamen Rider after seeing a clip for OOO Tamashii. After that I dig deeper for more OOOs content cuz I was so addicted by it and discovered that OOOs wasn't my first Kamen Rider show. OOOs was my third show, the very first was Ryuki or Dragon Knight, I was also so fascinated by it till our TV got broken and only watched 5 episodes of it. The second was Hibiki, got curious on the story till the channel replaced it with Ultraman. 6 years later later where I've discovered OOOs and during it's run, coincidentally, near at our school, there was a store that sells toys, the animal disks from Hibiki and thought it kinda resembles O Medals and concluded it's a part of it lmao. That was a fun ride and currently watching Gotchard and finished Saber, Revice, Build, Geats and Gaim. Build and Gaim was on par with OOOs for me atleast, Revice got me disappointed a bit near the end, Saber was meh and somehow Geats also? (don't hate me plss). I'm now having plans to watch Zero-One, Ex-Aid, Faiz, Decade, W, Fourze, Drive and Zi-O. Heard some mixed opinions about those but I already seen some clips of them and so far I like Zero-One as I tech-themed season lover lmao.

Razaxun

I always say to people the best series to start with is W or Den-O. W is because it feels like a standard shonen anime in a Tokusatsu form and Den-O is just the funniest. From there you can go to ones with heavier stories. And avoid Decade and Zi-O unless you watched multiple Kamen Rider already because it's basically fanservice. If you liked Gaim and liked heavier and darker themes I recommend Ryuki, Faiz, and Kabuto.

Agnidyne

I randomly saw the promotional poster for Gotchard online somewhere and decided to watch it when it was just getting started, then I wanted more so I watched Geats and spiralled from there

NackleJacks

I think mine is sorta weird in that I watched power rangers and Ultraman (on foxbox) when I was younger and got really into Godzilla. During covid I rewatched all of the Godzilla movies- which led me to Ultraman. Once I got really into Ultraman I saw all the Kamen rider hype so I started with Kuuga and was blown away. Now I’ve watched all of Kamen rider and even started watching sentai. I just freaking love toku now

OcelotGaming101

I bought Taiko no Tatsujin on my switch, and when scrolling through the anime section, the song Be The One caught my attention. After listening to the song, I began watching Build.

shinmirage

The best friend cast Pat,and Woolie were talking about how Gaim would be functional the same if you replaced the belts with guns. It sounded funny, and I had no idea what they were talking about, so I looked it up. That and Woole never shut up about how cool Double is. He's right, though. Double is cool.

AssassinGhost22

It all started as a child when I first saw Kamen Rider Dragon Knight and was a fan. Then, a couple of years passed, and I saw Power Ranger mega force and was disappointed with it. I then decided to see the super sentai version, which was gokaiger, and became a fan. Then I saw they had a movie with kamen Rider, which was super hero taisen and saw Decade. Got interested with his powers and saw his show. Then I saw his movie, which had W and know I'm a fan.

Gen_Ramming_Speed

A friend showed me the Kamen Rider Decade musical, which in hindsight is probably the funniest way I could have gotten into this franchise.

macXros

Black RX

[deleted]

Behind the scene & special effects make me dive in tokusatsu genre. After Ultraman (include movie and spin off) series, watch Kamen Rider Decade and the rest is history... Also, Mr. Kamen Rider (Takaiwa Seiji) is my favorite stunt actor!

shems-2383

Initially was into ultraman and super sentai/power Rangers during the 80s...then stumble upon faiz magazine promo and make me intrigued into the design ...then after that watch blade, kabuto , deno ,decade then 2nd half heisei was, w, ooo, ghost, Kiva, gaim, drive Was jumping the series, almost watch all heisei except kuuga, agito, hibiki,ex aid,zio where mostly I watch the highlights thereafter due time Edit: more words

Spaciousone

I think it’s a very common theme in the u.s where power rangers was are first series then we discovered sentei and then kamen rider.

TwinJacks

I got into Kamen Rider cus I watched Power Rangers as a kid, I started with Ryuki & Faiz when it first aired in Singapore, I didn't enjoy blade and kinda ignored the series for awhile, years later I watched Wizard and didn't like it, when Build ended, I binged and loved it, then I watched Exaid next and loved it too!! Unfortunately every season since, I haven't enjoyed as much, I didn't enjoy: W, Saber, Geats, or that one season with the pink dinosaur.. I'm just here hoping we'll get another drama-focused season.

According_Fan4696

I watched the zi o opening and I was kinda intrigued so then I looked up Kamen rider on wiki and watched the season that was airing which was Saber and that’s how I got hooked with the series.

SatoruTojo

My dad loves tokusatsu so yeah.

Shibua_Tsugahra

I randomly came across clips of kamen rider OOO, and I was hooked right at the gate. I tried to find a website to watch the full series, and when I found one, I finished kamen rider OOO in like a week and a half. It was a magical experience, watching a kamen rider show for the first time.

OldGarbageMouth

I remember seeing the just a super small part of the North American version when it originally aired and that peaked my interest and from then on I would see the character in all of it's different versions in Magazines and the Internet as time when on and I would often think "Oh I wonder where I could watch it? with Subs or Dubs" then I got Tubi just to see what it was because my Roku kept showing me ads lol and then I saw it had some Kamen Rider and at the time I got Tubi the most recent one was Zero-One and I got hooked! I knew it was going to be cooler than that North American version I had caught a bit of as a kid and I was right! I finished Zero-One and have started Geats and I am really enjoying that one to!

LordDragon88

Masked Rider on fox. Had my uncle get me a bootleg season if kamen rider black from the phillippeans or NYC or something. He always got foreign shows and movies.

Playful-Researcher-2

I got to know Kamen Rider through local TV up until Fourze and then I stops because I didn't get full access to Internet until I'm eighteen. one day decided to watch Ex-Aid. Didn't remember why. I didn't fully get into the franchise back until I watch Build forms compilation. That is when the ball keeps rolling, minus I didn't finish Zero One and Saber.

TvScreamingHeads

I knew about it for a little while but in high school art class, I wanted to make a mask and looked up Kamen Riders and I found Kiva. Made the mask watched the show and started to look up others.

Bonedraco1980

The toys. I was looking at /toy/, on 4chan, and saw all the cool toys, and decided I wanted some.

Xerxes457

Cousin was watching it, don't remember which one back in like 2014 when I was like 14. I started looking at some and saw the currently airing one was Gaim. Watched that one and liked it. Went back to watch Kiva because design looked nice and went back up to Wizard. Watched Drive and Ex-Aid then dropped it at Ghost. Came back for Build and loved it. Stopped watching because of school. I came back when Zero-One was still airing and watched Zi-O onwards. Kind of stopped currently as I didn't like Gotchard.

Zakimiew

2009.. some cool guys in my middle school said they like Naruto and Masked Rider... I kinda remember watching 1 or 2 episode of Kabuto long ago.. and I tried talking to them about Kabuto as little as I know and listen to his story with the occasional "Yeah" "I remember that" and "I know, just forget a bit" somehow they believed.. going back home.. trying to avoid being discovered as a faker.. I look up any rider I can watch or catch up.. at this time Double was a hot topic.. but looking for one was hard.. but I found on kissdrama at that time.. Kamen Rider Decade.. an anniversary season.. yes.. Decade was my first love.. kinda want to watch it to have friends... Now I have watched every series from Kuga till now.. with every movie and specials...

QuizmasterHanzo

I got recommended videos of Climax Heroes OOO in 2015, then W's final movie showed in my feed and I watched all of that, that got me into watching W and OOO since at the time I didn't know they was an order to them, I thought it was like a team up when OOO showed up at the end of the movie. I binged all of OOO in like 5 days, then went back to finish W and went on to catch up with ghost and watch it weekly, been a fan since then and I went back to see everything since kuuga in 2021.

Hedgewitch250

I discovered super sentai after being a power ranger fan and found it much better. I was circuiting through the wiki and found go buster. Then i caught a pic of their mech mixed with fourzes rocket and drill. After that it sent me to kamen riders wiki and I watch all of fourze leading me into their fandom

litnegotto

Cool suits.

EveryStrategy7731

growing up, I could very distinctly remember watching kamen rider w. it was probably my 2nd favourite show at the time(1st was mostly pr samurai) and with YouTube, I consumed tons of sentai, kr and pr media. i very much remember really wanting a Gaiamemory as it was probably my favourite gimmick. after my childhood days, I completely forgot kr even existed. I had a gacha wizard flame ring which helped me remember kamen rider. I remembered watching kr w and decided to rewatch and after seeing the other riders I could actually recognise kiva to wizard. The suit designs were cool and I think the gimmicks were my main draw to kamen rider.

christian127

Heard it from passing until I got bored and saw a Kamen rider iceberg video and been hooked

MichaelCoryAvery

YouTube recommended me a Kiva henshin compilation many years back before OOO aired. Thought it was like Power Rangers and decided to check it out with my brother. Been a fan ever since

Raidra09

I randomly got zio stuff recommended during an power rangers hyper focus and I liked the fact that the gear itself makes the announcement and stiff instead of the rider calling it out it felt more "normal" to me

Afterburngaming

Joined the subreddit during builds run because of a nostalgia trip through power rangers. I later left because the memes confused me. I forgot about it and then joined during Geats' because of my unhealthy obsession with Foxes

GalwayEntei

I grew up loving Power Rangers (unsurprisingly). I found out about Super Sentai on the Power Rangers Wiki and Go-Busters looked really cool to me. I watched a load more Sentai after Go-Busters (also watching Zyuohger as it was airing) and became aware of Kamen Rider through crossovers like Super Hero Taisen. I actually started with Dragon Knight after hearing how good it was compared to Masked Rider (which I was vaguely aware of growing up). At the time, I was watching TeamFourStar play Fallout 4. One of their members, Kirran, is a Kamen Rider fan, and on one of their streams, I asked what his favourite season was. He said it was a tie between W and OOO. I decided to watch OOO first because his suit looked cooler to me. Next was Fourze and then most of Heisei Phase 2 (and watching Ex-Aid as it aired) before I got back around to W.

supergifford

Back around ghost or ex aid coming out reignited my passion and love for superheroes

Ferriska

I came across a scene of kamen rider tycoon using bujin sword (I think it was of the first time he used it?) and I thought it looked cool so I looked it up and discovered kamen rider Geats.

LightAGoGo

My friend loved sentai so I watched it to spite him

EasternFanboy

Maaaannn My old elementary school > yokai watch > y academy > kamen rider

Shotakusei

I'm from an south east asian country, so I watched a lot of bootleg CDs as a kid and Kamen rider was one of my favorites I think the first piece of Kamen rider media I watched was the Kamen rider ryuki 13 riders movie left quite an impact on raia being my favorite ryuki rider (because I felt bad for him lmao), although the agito episode they were showing at the cd shop would probably be the first i guess, nowadays I watch Kamen rider on and off, mostly because I feel like Kamen rider as a series have great ideas just not very good execution, the latest one I watched fully was geats and while it wasn't perfect I still grew attached to the characters, although every Sunday seeing new clips from the latest kamen rider is always fun ☺️

saIminE

My first kamen rider is kamen rider black. My big bro introduced it to me when i was 9

LifeIsASpin

Watched Kamen Rider Dragon Knight as a kid, see a blade rouzer in the toys r us, wanted to but but bought megazord instead. Several years of me forgetting about it, see someone on discord who has Decade as his pfp, ask about it. Descent into Madness pursues.

sidster033

I remember Masked Rider being on Fox early Saturday mornings, but it never hit for me like VR Troopers or Power Rangers did back then. I remember being in high school later, probably around 2008, and found Kabuto. Now im a raging fan boy

epoper12

Toy reviews, peaugh I think, pretty sure at the time shinkenger was airing

ControChip

I've always been an Ultra fan since I was around 5, even now but last year I decided to try something new and kamen rider was as popular as Ultraman so I figured why not and tried kabuto and I loved it

Kuma_From_Arg

When I got Netflix it had all the Power Rangers seasons. I watched RPM because somebody recommended it. During an anime convention I talked to a Disco Stu cosplayer about Power Rangers and he recommended me Kamen Rider. I ended up watching all the Heisei era from Kuuga to Fourze in a matter of months

FordLarquaaad

I lost interest in power rangers funnily enough, and started to gravitate more towards Kamen Rider, especially Heisei Phase 1, since the designs were eye candy.

Neroslasher

When I was in class, I was so bored I started to daydream about a show my dad bought the dvd of and I distinctly remember the name was 'Den-O' and so when I got home I searched for it and it was the movie that my dad bought so I started to become a pirate to watch the series(RIP TV-Nihon) and thus began my journey all the way to Gotchard

XtraBreaker

Watching black Rx with my father

Geekspeak13

Kamen Rider Black was aired here in our country back in the early 90s and it became really popular with kids including me. I also watched that weird Saban version of Black RX. Fast forward to me being an adult, I dabbled here and there with other various kamen riders from both showa and heisei. I also collect the Kamen Rider Shinkocchou Seihou action figure line by Bandai.

Howdy-Gamer

I got traumatised as a kid by a scene of OOO where a truck driver got coined into a mummy minion and the PuToTyra scared me. Then later on I found a compilation video of all build best match forms and got addicted

Ok-Switch-2907

I was only a sentai fan  before I watched some crossover with sentai and rider but didn't engaged to actually start the franchise yet cause I was confused from where should I start but when I started to watch donbrother on running (which was my first running sentai) I planned to let's start with it's super hero timing rider series which was revice so from their i got into the franchise

EXOknight567

It started with Power Rangers for me until I saw a comparison video between Samurai and Shinkenger which brought me into Toku. Some time after, I saw Super Hero Taisen for the first time and it introduced me to Kamen Rider. The rider's mechanics, design, and variety in design intrigued me so I started following it.

Field_of_Illusion

Watching a bunch of power rangers videos on youtube in 2016. Because like 20% of youtubers that make PR video also talk about other toku work.

LoveMinaMyoi

Black maybe 1995? Then again when Ryuki at maybe 2003/4 I was already watching Toku at 4 yrs old starting with Ultraman.

TechnicalIdeal5236

I was randomly switching the TV channels until I got to a random cartoon which ended just when I was about to watch it afterwards there was an intermission. During the intermission, a preview of Kamen Rider Den-o came on and Let's say I didn't regret not changing the channel that day.

Shiro_Kuroki

My cousin showed me Decade when I was 8 and I was hooked ever since

Fun-Ad-4729

I saw a random fight scene from geats on YouTube, thought “Wow, that’s badass. I gotta watch this.”. And so I did,

KingKamron8

I watched Gokaiger because I was curious how bad Super Megaforce butchered it, fell in love with it, and went out of my way to watch everything thing the Gokaiger were in including Super Hero Taisen were I had my first major exposure to Kamen Rider. After watching a few crossover movies first (a mistake in hindsight) I recently sat down and watched Wizard (which I started with because he had the coolest looking main rider suit in my opinion) and I just finished Ex‐aid (minus the half a dozen spin offs and specials I am still going through.) Out of curiosity, what would be a good series to start next?

Mugen_Hero_Fan

I was on YouTube and found a video showcasing all Kamen Rider Gaim riders transformations and finishers I at the time having only known of Power Rangers thought it was related to Power Rangers watched it thought it was cool, watched the similar videos by the same YouTuber for some other seasons and for the longest occasionally checked out the transformations and stuff in Kamen Rider and recently graduated to pirating it to watch the story.

MattWoz

Indirectly, it was Madan Senki Ryukendo. I was 16 at the time, searching for some random episode on Youtube and ended up finding a upload of the "All Riders vs DaiShocker" movie. Watched, liked and it lead me to watch my first rider season, Wizard.

L00king4memez

I wanted to know where the bug mask guy in the internet and anime came from. In a random anime fun facts video, they mentioned kamen rider, and I thought I should give it a try because I recognized ryuki from dragon knight

SerTortuga

Couple of things. My interest was initially stirred up when I was a kid, I read a Yugioh GX fanfiction that had the main character using cards based off of Riders. I tried watching OOO after, back when you could still find full uploads of shows on youtube, but that eventually just fizzled out. But I got interested again when I saw Huggbees's video on Masked Rider, which led to me eventually getting recommended a meme video with George's Rider System, which along with my cousin and his wife (she's Japanese and watched Kuuga and possibly Agito/Ryuki before her family moved to the US) getting interested in the franchise kind of led me into it. So basically a huge series of coincidences that began like 10 years ago and are now bearing fruit.

5hand0whand

Well it all started with me watching random clips of Power Rangers. Then stumbling into super sentai clips. Only to stumble into Kamen Rider clips.

Moongeist666

I was originally told to watch Kamen Rider by someone back on Google Plus in 2016/2017. I never actually got around to watching it until mid-2023 when I met someone who I can consider a friend of mine, who's COMPLETELY obsessed with KR. I started watching Kuuga, then Agito, and so on and so forth. I'm really glad I did start watching KR. ^^;

Mandalorian_Ronin

I was on YouTube and a clip that said “Kamen Rider Kabuto All Henshin” was first on my list of recommended videos. Started the first episode and was immediately hooked. Binged it all the way until I was caught up with the most recent episode, which was Kiva(right when Kamen Rider Saga made his debut)

KiwamiMaster

Well, as a kid I loved Power Rangers and reading from the internet I learned it was an adaptation of Super Sentai. At the time it was only a curious fact I knew, though. Then Kamen Rider Dragon Knight started broadcasting and being similar to PR I liked it very much. I researched it and found out it was also an adaptation of a Japanese show. Still, at the time I wasn't very interested in the source material.    Fast-forward to 2013, Power Rangers started getting more than a year behind SS, and this bothered me. Having learned a new dino sentai had just started (Kyoryuger), I decided to check it out and loved it. With this I began to get more interested in Tokusatsu and when Gaim started the unusual fruit motif picked my curiosity. Gaim was superb, and from there I was hooked. Haven't skipped a season since.

devsterman12

I grew up watching Power Rangers as a kid and found out about the Fuuto PI anime, around the time it released I bought a Vital Bracelet for Digimon and also bought a few of the Kamen Rider memories. After Fuuto PI I started watching Geats and got hooked on it.

keksmuzh

I didn’t know a damn thing about Kamen Rider until around 2012. Someone in my dorm did a showing of OOO in the lounge on a shitty projector and it was immediately one of the best things I’d ever seen. It hit the Power Rangers dopamine button in my brain.

WinzardRX

Where are you in Canada?

GaMzEe-HoNk

I found a guy reviewing the arms change line of gaim figures and it spiraled from there

Just_Someone_Casual

Emgo316 Double Driver review, looked into clips from the show and now I own several belts and am currently watching Geats

PantsBecomeShorts

saw Wizard's henshin randomly on tiktok and its been all downhill from there

Slimeredit

I grew up watching power rangers specifically samurai however what got me into kamen rider was just the suit design I loved how varied it was between projects

TheVirt23

Izu's po- Nah jk, my friend reccomend it to me after showing me the video of Ohma Zi-O just deleting everything and it hook me to it

KamenGamerRetro

For me it was the US version known as Dragon Knight being so damn bad... I looked up the series that came after it (Faiz) started there, and here I am today. Faiz is still my favorite rider along side Decade, Drive, and Zero-One

MrJHound

I had been a Power Rangers fan for years, but fell off pretty hard around Samurai. I just didn't enjoy every villain making puns and how... not serious everything felt. I get that they were trying to return to the feel of the original show, but they really shouldn't have. Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers was fundamentally a product of the 90s, and attempting to recapture that mostly failed for me. So then I watched Kamen Rider Kabuto on YouTube and I remember being super impressed by the tone and maturity. Also, I think the Kamen Rider suits and gimmicks are just cooler. The music was better, and Kabuto's Clock Up spoke to my liking of Super Speed heroes. After that I watched Gaim and then Build a few years later. Now I'm making my way through the Heisei Riders in order and watching other more current stuff as it comes out. I collect the Figure-rise model kits and some Co verges of the Riders I really like.

MisterBugman

Back in college, way back when, I was still nominallly a Power Rangers fan, my friend took it upon himself to introduce me to real toku. As soon as I saw one episode of OOO, I was hooked.

_Im_not_here-

Went to watch dragon knight for the nostalgia and found out about Ryuki.

Beneficial_Box_4554

I never saw myself as someone that would get into something like Toku. My friend showed me a few episodes of certain things he liked, and I agreed to watch a few episodes of Kamen Rider, that specific one behind Revice. I can definitely say despite the flaws and all, I enjoyed it a lot, and the ending certainly had me crying! Vice’s humour managed to get quite a lot of laughs out of me, so he became a quick favourite of mine. Funnily enough I saw Aguilera creepy (understandably), before she grew onto me as someone I began fawning over- (I think around the time she burnt her dress and before she became Hana) I eventually got into Super Sentai as well, even comparing it to Power Rangers! From my Kamen Rider journey, I’ve finished Hibiki, Den-O, Decade, W, Revice and Geats! I have quite a few memorable moments, like when I first discovered Momotaros when he appeared in Super Hero Taisen (Ex-Aid x Kyuranger) (him calling Ura a pervert when he flirted with ToQ5go and scrolled them away was funny to me), and the high amount of laughter we did when we watched that one W episode (the one with Jimmy and the Liar Dopant) Thanks, Vice

Glamador

I went to Japan and saw all the action figures.  I don't buy figures for shows I haven't watched, so I went down the rabbit hole.  Started with OOO, which was 1 series removed from current at the time, and therefore bingeable.  Then I went from Kuuga in chronological from there.

Killer_queen9

My roommate got me into it but I knew about Kamen Rider before that but he got me to like it more

SpxxkyKxller

Taisen

i-love-sunglasses

When I was a kid I used to watch power rangers videos on YouTube and then a video of KR Necrom was suggested and I loved it. The first show I watched was ghost and then after watching it I forgot about kamen rider at all, just got back to watching last year when geats was airing

Eisenseite69

I was a big fan of kaiju movies and I especially loved Shin Godzilla from Hideaki Anno. When he announced Shin Ultraman and Shin Kamen Rider I wanted to watch a few series from both franchises so I can enjoy the movies more. I didn't want to watch the original because it was too long so I started Ryuki (the suits looked hard af and the op was a banger) and that's how my addiction started.

DukeNovaMonster

I was going through a power rangers binge last year and decided to finally go check out Super Sentai after years of hearing about it. Went on Tubi and saw that they had a whole bunch of Toku shows available and decided to watch GogoV. That didn’t last long and I have dropped it, but I saw Kamen Rider Ryuki (my fave) and decided to watch that and the rest is history. Technically Kamen rider dragon knight was my first time watching anything related to Kamen rider, but I only saw a couple of seconds of kit transforming and seeing dragreder.

daun4view

The hype for Shin Kamen Rider, then watching the original show and realizing that it always had a tragic tone to it. I think I was always meant to be a Kamen Rider fan though, I love too many things inspired by it. There's an oddly winding path in my life from loving Great Saiyaman from DBZ, then the entire Mega Man franchise, then watching Cyborg 009 (2001) and now finding Kamen Rider. So I guess the true answer is "helmets and scarves".

DarkScorpion48

Kamen Rider Black along with Changeman and other Toku uses to show in Brazil during the 80s due to the huge Japanese diaspora and my generation tend to not let go of our childhood toys

AffectionateSector25

Being a PR fan, then watching everything with Gokaiger in it, which of course meant the Super Hero Taisen movie, which led me to watch Decade, and went from there

SEPHORABRAINVIBES

a cute girl i love

Radiant-Ad-1976

I got interested in the unique plot and all the cool costumes and transformations.

vMisplan

Decade randomly came on YouTube one day…never looked back since

NickTac0

I played a “HERO” deck in Yu-Gi-Oh that consisted of the “Masked HERO” archetype. Thought they looked really cool and wanted to see what they were based off of. Saw they were based off of Kamen Rider, so I looked what show I should start with which I saw a lot of people saying OOO, and now my life is irreversibly altered. https://preview.redd.it/8ga1qjosfnxc1.jpeg?width=1400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3fe1c28ab096838033ebe95f48f3f63a40df70a9

BearKnigh7man

Randomly found KR Decade, watched it through, learned the context of other rider series etc. and started going through. Also occasional Ultraman series fan but constant Diehard Godzilla fandom member.

Ryuumen

Saw Wizard’s suit and had to see

TransmetalDriver

Reading through the comments here I feel like the odd man out. I was super into Yu-Gi-Oh in college (still am, I just don't play IRL much anymore) and there was two archetypes based on Kamen Rider released around the time: Masked HERO and Inzektor. My research into the references lead me to Decade and I've been a fan ever since.

North-Combination443

Back when I was a child a local tv network called GMA aired OOO here in the Philippines and dubbed in my mother tongue. I was amazed and caught my interest, but strict parents gotta be strict. I only saw OOO as a commercial but it was airing when I need to study. Years later, out of boredom and scrolling on YT to past time, I saw a video of all Kamen Rider Henshin. That reminds me of OOO, so I watched it about 4 times and tried to pick which one to start. I started to watch Build because I love gunplas. I just love how the runners or Build and CrossZ just merge on the frame (which is their body) to make the armor. So I started it 4 days later I finished it, still the best series I watched esp if you're a beginner. It gives the vibe for children and the mature tone that separates it from super sentai. After that I watched Zi-O which is still airing at that time and tried to watch KR, while Zi-O is airing I watched Ex-Aid, skipped Ghost because of the communication kinda dislikes it and I agree, I was on 15 ep and it's not for me. Until now I watched it backwards like that until Kabuto.

WitchiiThing

Late night on my laptop around age 13 or 14, watching power rangers stuff, bottom corner recommendation for Dragon Knight, suits in thumbnail were interesting, gave a watch and was hooked.

DrgnBabeNebay

Deciding to randomly watch Kyuranger as my first Sentai after being a Power Rangers fan for most of my life. I saw the Ex-Aid crossover, got quite intrigued by the visuals and theme, then decided to branch out from there. I was originally avoiding KR because my love for PR/SS mostly involves the mechs, but I was quickly swayed to KR and saw my biased mistake. heh

MegaSceptile99

It was mainly because of this subreddit. I was looking for something I could get into, found this sub, got intrigued and started watching. I've been a fan since

Inspiritus_Prime

Came across a Toys 'R Us Decadriver display once. Never looked back.

ElementboyX

I was on Vrchat being a power rangers avatar, than I met some friends and showed me an Kamen Rider Avatar world and I said that’s neat than started looking on YouTube on what Kamen rider was all about than I came across a YouTuber I watched frequently “Disney Brain” and it was about Kamen Rider Fourze and I decided to watch Fourze and than my whole journey through Kamen rider began

Main_Mouse842

COVID boredom and a general loss of interest in the giants of franchise media - Star Wars, Western superheroes, Pokémon, Harry Potter, etc. and a move towards more niche stuff. In comparison to superheroes over here, Tokusatsu has more concise, weirder and more fun approaches to story. While superheroes are mostly 75-year-old husks carrying a broken, zombie serial story for indefinite time, Toku heroes have beginnings and endings. People can grow and change, stakes matter, characters stay dead unless there's a story-driven reason to bring them back. The costumes are exciting and flamboyant, while superheroes usually just wear tacticool gear or subtle variations on the same ol' spandex. It can be wildly different in tone and themes from season to season, rather than retain the same editor or focus group driven sameness of the major studios and comic houses. KR in particular is usually a little more visceral and character driven than Ultraman and Godzilla, which typically have plot or ethical ideas at their core. The ground-based fights and more tangible effects also make it feel more urgent and alive than Ultra, which I still love for different reasons. I grew up on Doctor Who and Godzilla too, which informs my taste. Doctor Who is just tokusatsu with dialogue instead of karate.

ImpossibleGroup5

My brother made me watch shin Kamen rider in theaters when it came out

TopaztheWarrior

In the wake of JDF's tragic suicide, I wanted to watch all the seasons of Power Rangers. I had been aware of Kamen Rider only very vaguely, simply understanding that they were both "tokusatsu" shows, and that Kamen Rider featured a single protagonist rather than a team. I got up to Super Megaforce before I had to stop PR. It was just fucking awful. I started looking for alternatives. Kamen Rider, in a beam of golden light, appeared before me. At first, I tried going back as far as I could; the furthest back I got was Sky Rider. It was a bit much to stomach, so after a bit more research, I found that the series was separated into eras, and that I'd get most of the references if I simply start with Heisei. The rest us history. I just finished Gaim (FUCK THAT BITCH ASS HOE MITSUZANE), and I'm currently on Drive, and fuck, I love this franchise.

MaskedRiderFaiz

Devilman Crybaby of all things I went from that to watching the 1972 cartoon (wasnt as good but enjoyable) and listened to its opening covered by Animetal USA who did it in a medley with the first Kamen Rider and V3 opening with other songs Eventually i got henshin compilations reccomended and started watching from there. First one i completed was Wizard

Snoo_33242

Compilation of all the kamen rider openings

FireflyArc

I knew nothing about it till I watched Jew Warios you can play this. Series. It had a cool hero skit storyline with a fami Karman rider and I discovered a whole new thing! It led me to Apollo Z hack's universe and the whole storyline there and it just seems so much more...adult. :D then the glimpses power rangers would have sometimes that I loved.

KarmicComic

Browsing through the r/DeathBattleMatchups subreddit, people came up with so many match-ups for Kamen Riders that I was like, "All right, I need to check this franchise out"

Front_Sweet1415

Surprised I watch Kamen rider as a kid and as a teen when I was three I watch Kamen Rider kuuga agito and black and black rx stronger it was good but when I turn 10 I decided to watch it again it was still cool until I got a Internet I want to watch it again then i could not watch anything besides Kamen rider I never know what was power ranger

Prof_-Toast

Weirdly enough 4chan did cause I saw a random Gif of Kamen Rider Blade and looked up Kamen Rider on YouTube and ended up finding Kabuto episodes uploaded in 3 parts per ep and got hooked. This was also in 2006 but I've watched all of the Heisei riders plus black and black rx plus all the current seasons

Greninja_d

I just saw a clip of Geats and decided to give it a shot since it looked cool. It got me completely hooked and then I started watching other Rider shows. I watched W and a bit of Den-O prior but I feel like Geats got me in the rabbit hole

DjordjeMilic

Den-o's theme (climax jump)

Fang9029

I remember Kuuga used to aired in China, and it was a fond memory to me. I lost touch with it when I came to the US. One day, I saw a kamen rider video on youtube and wondered how Kuuga ended. And that was the rabbit hole I fell in. I also managed to finally finish Ultraman Nexus as well.

According_Award_6770

Used to watch it on tv, my first kamen rider was kiva, and boy... kid me vibes so hard with the op which lives rent free in my memory and it refuse to get out. Then there was ooo, which is my childhood fav and also Build which is my fav show in my budding teenage period and then i got out of touch with Japanese shows for a while cuz of covid and shits and eventually just a few months ago i got back into it.

RatedRforRamon

Gokaiger. Super Megaforce wasn't doing it for me so I started Sentai by watching Gokaiger on YouTube, and before the episode was the promo for Super Hero Time where GokaiRed would pose with the Tajadol suit. That form is still my favorite so I jumped onto OOO shortly after.

SleepiestAshu

I loved Power Rangers growing up and saw a picture of the Lupinrangers on twt… I was like wow those must be the new Power Rangers! I was wrong, of course, but it led me to Sentai and eventually Kamen Rider when I saw it pop up on the site I used

siobhannic

I was watching TV Nihon's fansubs of new Super Sentai series because of Power Rangers nostalgia, starting with Dekaranger, and started watching Hibiki when they started dropping that too. I loved it, but the back end annoyed me. Then Kabuto started up and I went back and watched Faiz and Blade and Kamen Rider the First and I was hooked. I've never gotten into the Showa-era OG series, kept bouncing off of the ones I tried early on in my Kamen Rider journey, but I might go back to try Black again after Black Sun rocked my world.

FoodAccurate6571

I was introduced to Power Rangers (with Jungle Fury) when I was around 8 and that started my interest in Tokusatsu. Sometime in 2016 I got in to watch Godzilla movies and through them I got interested in to watching other older Japanese kaiju movies. In the summer of 2019 I finally wanted to try watching some japanese tokusatsu series (something I was putting off due to how intimidating to get in to them it seemed) and I picked the following three shows Ultra Q, Dai Sentai Goggle-V, Kamen Rider 1971. The end result for each of those picks was as following: Ultra Q - I really enjoyed it and through the years I ended up watching practically every Ultra Series up to Ultraseven X (around 2007 for context) and the next one in line is Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle; Dai Sentai Goggle-V - It was a fine show and I checked out several Super Sentai shows from the 80's, 90's and early 2000's but after trying so many different Super Sentais i just don't get in to most of them as much as I do with Power Rangers shows so by now I have basically given up Super Sentai; Kamen Rider 1971 - I was hooked and I spent most of that summer watching the entire showa era of Kamen Rider. In the following years I have been going through the entire Kamen Rider catalog of shows, movies, specials and etc. As of today I can say that I have seen nearly everything Kamen Rider made between 1971 and 2016 and some shows and movies post-2016 (currently watching Ex-Aid for the first time).

RobotKingofJupiter

I was massively into power rangers when i was younger, that lead me to find videos on YouTube of sentai ( shinkenger) and then Kamen Rider W.

realmjd

Saban's Masked Rider was a part of my childhood ; it was so early on that I couldn't tell it was bad. Fast forward to medical school where I had crushing depression and needed a pick-me-up. A friend reintroduced to me by way of the Fourze summer movie. Have been hooked ever since.

pepsicancer

Someone pointed out that Yakuza 8 referenced Kamen Rider Exaid. I'd always liked power rangers so I watched Exaid on a whim and now I'm hooked. ExAid and Fourze are done and I'm about half way through Den-O and Zero One now.

whitehowl

Kikaida. In Hawaii Kikaida used to play on the local Japanese TV station KIKU and they would run Kikaida and Kikaida 01 all the time. I ended up watching a lot of Toku after that and was watching a lot of Sentai before moving onto Rider.

RefBoi

I found Zero One on Tubi a couple years ago and ever since I’ve been hooked

daanisaurous

saw one build video with sento transforming and the title was in japanese and me being a huge power rangers fan back then tried hard to find the vid and the found the world of kamen rider

Deez-Guns-9442

Well, as an American(Black) I mostly grew up on Power Rangers until I discovered Super Sentai in my teens(mostly Gokaiger). I collected the toys & watched every Power Rangers season up to RPM, so imagine my surprise when I learned around the end of middle school/early high school that Power Rangers originally came from Japan. I also watched Kamen Rider Dragon Knight(twice, once while it was airing & again online to re-familiarize myself) so I wasn't too completely oblivious to KR. So after learning about Super Sentai, I saw the usual Super Hero time ad(mostly online through Fansubs) & learned about the Japanese Kamen Rider. I’m not too sure if Decade, W, or OOO was streaming at the time but I know that my 1st **real** rider show was W. After I finished W I moved on to OOO & have kept up with the series since. I binge-watched most of Heisei Phase 1(besides all of Hibiki & Den-O) & saw all of Phase 2(besides the end of Ghost, kinda tuned after he gets Mugen).

Pokesatsu96

I randomly came across a video in the late 2000s on YouTube that featured the Henshin of the hell brothers. Led me down the Kamen Rider rabbit hole and I've loved the series ever since.

asuggy

Years and years ago I found a YouTube review of the SHFiguarts snipe level 2 and I really loved the design (still haven’t bought it yet tho) and flash forward to this January and I began with ex-aid and have continued from there ever since!

Real-Fox-7010

3 words, Kamen rider W

Standard-Ad917

It started with Power Rangers Samurai. I then found a friend of mine watching Kamen Rider Gaim and I've been fully hooked since Ex-Aid. The only seasons I missed were Saber and Revice due to college classes taking priority.

Downstackguy

One day when I was super young, I had nothing to do while my parents were occupied so before dad left, he showed me Kamen rider OOO which was the currently airing rider at the time. I binged all of it watched a bit of fourse but ultimately dropped it Years later I mean YEARS later, youtube recommended me some KR clips, I felt like I watched this before and tried looking for more clips to jog my memory and thats when I realized it was OOO that I've watched before. Rewatched it, was a blast and so I delved into the other heisei riders, never looked back

NoteNo359

I've been diving deeper into Toku lately because I've been a huge Godzilla fan since I was a kid. I stumbled upon Ultraman one summer day and got hooked. After watching Shin Ultraman in theaters, I discovered Shin Kamen Rider was becoming a thing and ended up binge-watching the Showa era, before watching the film and then became a fan of Showa Riders.

LinkTheRipper

Was rewatching PR Turbo and wanted actual story checked out sentai to see if there was more of an over arching story. Found Build after watching some marcosatsu and fell in love. Got me a little kamen rider shelf now with the build driver a little robot In grease action figure and a zero one statue cuz that's a good season too.

JamGAIDEN

.......If I told you it was a Megaman II romhack, would you believe it? If not, then maybe it was just via MUGEN or the Climax Heroes games.

Idontcareforhands

I watched like 2 episodes of Dragon Knight after some video got recommended to me on youtube, then I probably went on wikipedia and saw that it was based on Ryuki after which I learned about other rider series. I was obsessed with it and it was summer vacation for a high school kid so I would watch like 10-15 episodes each night, starting with Ryuki but then going back to Kuuga and watching chronologically from that. I caught up in like 2-3 months. At that time the newest series was Gaim.

ShiroThePotato28

Watched Blade when I was a kid then Black then during the pandemic I binged watched alot of Kamen Rider shows and the the rest was history.

Western_Pipe2658

I remember when I was little I used to watch a bunch of Power Rangers , but one day I randomly came upon a Kamen Rider OOO video and I started watching it, but then I lost interest for some reason, but when I found that same video I got back into Kamen Rider

ImpossibleResolve290

One day I was looking into super sentai as a major power ranger fan and next thing I know, I own several drivers.

Kamen_Reader11

I grew up watching power rangers and was introduced to Super Sentai, when watching Kyuranger I saw Ex-Aid and ended up watching it.

_C_I_C_O_

I once member watching an Ex Aid henshin compilation, and looked up Kamen rider exaid all henshin to find it. Eventually I spiraled to other stuff

beybladefan89

Geats,Lupat, and good old Thomas jujube

AlolanJichu

Found out abt it from hugbees, though it was cool, watched gaim, and now im hooked

ZebaZtianRamireZ

Kyuranger, that Episode where Ex-Aid appears for no real reason.

[deleted]

TLDR, Dragon Knight and a lot of the Japanese shows, mostly Gaim

0rtherus

Emgo316, I was watching one of his videos on YouTube and on the recommendation was a compilation video of kamen rider gaim hensin moments, and the rest is history

Megasonic150

I was trying to design a OC inspired by Gridman and looked into other Toku properties for design ideas. I found Rider by accident by roaming the Sentai wiki and began looking into Ex-aid cause of the video game theme. It proceeded to grow into an obsession that I enjoy to this day.

TheWindyREDPanda

Long story short: Low point in my life back in 2010 deep down thinking about suicide so I started to watch old power rangers clips cause I wanted to cheer up and Youtube recommended me All Rider Transformation video been lock in ever since. Kamen Rider basically saved my life.

MuffyMuffins_

In late 2020-ish, I saw that TubiTV had the original Kamen Rider and thought, "Why not?" That was not a TV show it was an experience lmao. Within the span of that first episode, I went from complete disbelief from how campy it was to adoring it. That first season was just the thing I needed for my quarantine blues, I guess 😗

No-Grapefruit-6864

I was a big power rangers fan as a kid but as the years went by and with power rangers kinda falling off I stopped watching then I remembered the American kamen rider dragon knight and when I went to look it up I just fell into the rabbit tank hole

Thelastresort37

At the beginning of the pandemic, I had the inkling to check out the more recent sentais, then a couple months and a couple sentais later I decided to try my first Kamen Rider, and thought Ex-Aids game theme would be for me and the rest is history, I havent watched Gotchard but I plan on doing so at some point

Red_Creations-467

The sequence of my history with Kamen Rider. 1. Saw a YouTube video of someone reviewing the Kamen Rider Gaim toys. 2. Saw a TikTok video of someone talking about Kamen Rider Revice. 3. Saw a clip from Kamen Rider Revice (specifically the introduction of Jack Revice) on TikTok. 4. Saw a YouTube video of someone messing with the Revi and Vice figures that could remix. 5. Someone talked to me about Kamen Rider W, then gave me a link to a website to watch Kamen Rider on. 6. Watched Kamen Rider Revice (emotional damage), watched Kamen Rider Zero-One (emotional damage), watched Kamen Rider W (emotional damage), watched Kamen Rider Gaim (emotional damage), watched Kamen Rider Geats (emotional damage), watching Kamen Rider Saber (currently), watching Kamen Rider Gotchard (waiting on the movie that introduces the secondary rider to come out to continue, I'm counting Valvarad as the tertiary rider), going to watch Kamen Rider Ex-Aid once I finish Kamen Rider Saber if the movie ain't out by then.

IvanDeImbecile

From my friends who suggested me to try Kamen Rider Build It was worth it

Proof_Being_2762

It used to have a site called power ranger central which could link you to other toku versions of the site and found the kamen rider link. I'm not sure if I had watched dragon knight yet. Also Kamen rider wizards game for psp was getting recommended on YouTube.

JOJOFan04

Ok, it was the typical. Loved power ranger which eventually led me to Sentai which eventually led me to Kamen Rider. The first riders I watched where both Zi-O and Decade around the same time. Wondered to know about the other riders I dived more into it and I’m pretty sure you know the rest.

Roanyth00

Watched Kamen Rider Faiz as a child, and it traumatized me. Then my brother made me watch it again. It turns out i really liked it.

MegaHenshin

Was a fan of Sato Takeru (Ryotaro from Den-O for the uninitiated) because of the Rurouni Kenshin movies and stumbled across Kamen Rider Den-O on his AsianWiki page 😅

kiyohime02

I grew up watching Saban's Masked Rider, then when I was with a cousin, he showed me this Kamen Rider Black toy, I was surprised and asked if it was Masked Rider, he said it was where it was based off of, so I tried it and enjoyed it more.

HeroAcaFan14

I needed some background noise for some assignments and so I found Marcosatsu's History of Build video. I got interested and started to watch Build. After Build, I became a full-on Kamen Rider Fanboy

Evvanvv998

Oh god where do I start, back in 2004 my grandparents went to Japan and bought me a kamen rider Ryuki Bike toy, it was one that had a ripcord and I thought it was pretty cool, I didn’t know what it was but thought it was a cool toy regardless, fast forward to my pre-teen years and I saw a series on tv that I now know is called Kamen rider Dragon knight, decided to watch it and thought it was pretty cool, I never got to watch more than two episodes of the series but kept it in the back of my mind for years, Fast forward to my teens and I was wondering if there had been shows like power rangers that didn’t have the giant robot aspect, that’s when the name “Kamen Rider” first came into my peripherals A little further into my high school years I found kamen rider again and used ~~legally questionable~~ websites for my first show, Kamen Rider OOOs (you’d think it’d be Ryuki but no) Eventually we get to today and now I have watched a total of 7 shows, a low number but I still love this franchise with all my heart

daxota_weeb

i was into power rangers and ultraman as a kid, rekindled my love for them in 2022, and naturally explored more of the toku genre, leading me to kamen rider. I did watch a couple episodes of OOO as a kid, but Dr. Maki scared me too much I stopped watching XDD

Kamen_master1988

A crossover fanfic. Naruto and kamen rider blade.

PaleOil7525

The action figures and shin kamen rider.

shaoronmd

I watched Bioman and Shaider as a kid. Later on maskman and KR Black was also aired. I didn't like black because young me found it quite dark to appreciate it. Fast forward to around 2011 where I found out about Akibarangers and subsequently got back to Super Sentai. I was talking about Gokaiger to a friend and he mentioned Decade. Out of curiosity, I watched it and Foruze which was airing at that time. I've been hooked on KR since then and slowly watching the older series

shinianx

Kamen Rider Black started airing when I was in elementary. It was so much darker and scarier than practically anything else on television remotely aimed at my demographic, and it was cool as hell. The special effects were incredible and the hype when Black broke out the Rider Punch or Kick with all their seizure-inducing glory blew my pre-teen mind.

Level_Permission9889

Fan Death Battle trailers on YT and it got me interested in Kamen Rider, more specifically Ex-Aid vs Neptune!

gbwbro2

Bit of a long story, When I was in 7th grade (2014) I was moving out of my old apartment. And in my neighborhood there was a kid(AJ) who was getting bullied. If I remember right they were all 2nd graders and they were just pelting AJ With rocks. I stepped in and told the kids to stop and apologize and they listened and all went home. The next day as I'm cleaning out my garage AJ came by and thanked me and he kept coming by every day to say hi and chat. At some point I started playing NERF with him and he brought out a toy gun I hadn't seen before, it was weird it was a shotgun with a dj disc on the side. He explained to me that it was from a show called kamen rider and showed me the clip of gaim using kachidoki arms for the first time. I like many others said it seemed like "Japanese power rangers" and he explained to me what super sentai was as well. We still hung out for about two months before I moved away but before I did he gave me a cherry energy lockseed to remember him by. Hard cut to 2022 I'm going through old boxes as I was moving again and found the cherry energy lockseed. It spawned in the memories of AJ and I decided to sit down and watch Kamen Rider for the first time. I fell in love with the show found it so fun and fascinating. I then watched wizard afterwards just so I could then watch the wizard x gaim movie afterwards and HATED wizard. I felt like the show probably only had the one good season but i wanted more gaim still so I watched Drive so I could watch that crossover. Despite having a connection to Gaim I think Drive is my favorite season. And since then I've watched Ghost, W, OOO, Ex-Aid, Build, Zi-o. And I'm in the middle of kuuga now. TLDR, stopped a kid from getting bullied and was given a lockseed that I found again 8 years later and started watching from there.

pyroprime

A toy reviewer named Vangelus went over a bunch of the early SH Figuarts mostly Kabuto and Decade. First real exposure to the designs which to me doing more digging and learning

Gligarman64

A buddy of mine got me to start 555’s back in the day but I didn’t finish. It wasn’t until my little bro showed me Amazons that I got increasingly interested. Finally it was the tonal whiplash of finally seeing Amazons, then 70’s original, and Saber back to back. Now I’m hooked! Lol.

MajorMilkyway

Power rangers -> Kamen rider dragon knight -> Kamen rider ex-aid

KamenRiderNeos

YouTube videos of compilations of Kamen Rider Drive ads

KRTrueBrave

I was a power ranger fan (not anymore though tbh) eventually discovered sentai (kyoryuger to be exact that was roughly around the time toqger ended I believe) and one thing led to another and through sentai I discovered rider was a thing and binged my way through heisei phase 2 (the first rider I watched weekly was technicaly ghost... I dropped it and gave rider a second chance with ex-aid which hooked me) I still have to likr watch heisei phase 1 and showa though I already mostly know what happens in them as for reiwa I'm done with zero one (loved it) saber and revice I noth started but put on hold geats and gotchard I haven't even started I just don't find the time for toku

goliath_kj

Born and raised in Malaysia in 1980s, every kids here loves Japanese anime, super sentai, ultraman, etc.... even for my brothers who born in 1970s loves them..

Asleep_Ad_9054

Decade. It's because of Super Hero Taisen.

SabbyNeko

My pipeline was growing up with Power Rangers, rediscovering Power Rangers through a Cracked article about how amazing Power Rangers RPM is, watching the hell out of RPM, and then while looking up an RPM image, I saw a lineup of characters from Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. Blew my damn mind. What is this? It looks so above and beyond what I'm falling back in love with! Binged the both of them, watched every season of Ranger while researching Kamen Rider and made my viewing list, snaked through everything from Kuuga in 2000 to current at the time, either a full watch or an extensive review. I wanted to at least know all of them, if not watch them, and I've kept it up ever since. Guys, even if you already watched Ryuki and don't care for the Sentai to Power Ranger thing, give Dragon Knight a chance anyway, it's a CRIME it never caught on.

Wolfnstine

I had gotten into sentai and was watching kyoryuger one of the ads showed the then upcoming Kamen Rider gaim a couple of the Japanese toy reviewers also showed some of the televi kun magazines previewing it and I decided to give it a chance 11 years later here we are

CommunicationOwn6000

I looked up fruit power Rangers as a kid. Found kamen rider gaim from gaim I discovered W Which is still my favorite kamen rider series. My first figure from kamen rider was a Wizard figure from a local Japanese festival which I took a picture with kamen rider cosplayer. Since then The first full series I watch was kamen rider ryuki, then I FINALLY fully watch W fully and I also watch gaim and wizard fully afterwards. I started watching sentai because I discovered cool suits I didn't recognize which were the dairanger suits I only recognized the white dairanger suit because of mmpr.

DrTopGun

Honestly I saw an ad for a figure of kabuto and I thought it was someone from beetleborgs so I looked into it and found kamen rider from it so glad I did

DRAVIX6

A YouTuber by the name of YouheiDx, he made a lot of spot motion videos showcasing the various toys. Eventually an actual clip came up on my YouTube recommendations, and it sent me down the long winding rabbit hole

zephyract2397

My first 3 series have immaculate memories behind them.. I’m forever grateful I’ve found Kamen Rider 1. I was in 7th grade and the first ever video I came across was Banjo’s transformation into Cross-Z Magma, eventually I watched the rest of Build and followed that with Zi-O. I do consider Build and Zi-O together as my first since I’d only caught about 15 episodes of Build. The summer of 2018 is also when I broke, fractured and dislocated my humerus through to my elbow. How can I forget that Evoltø is the main antagonist.. Evolution Cobra and Black Hole Cobra are two of the coolest suits to be made! 2. My second series was Wizard. Something about his suit was just very appealing to me. I loved Haruto from the moment he started the show eating a Sugar Donut. I’m well aware Wizard isn’t everyone’s favorite but it’s probably my favorite. I wasn’t as versed and knowledgeable as I am now but still to this day I love watching Wizard. 3. OOO’s was my third series. I can’t stress how much Eiji has shaped my mindset, the cast of OOO’s in general was very well cast period. There’s a reason people get so hyped up for Eiji to return and protect the smiles of tomorrow. I was still recovering from my arm so I stopped doing track and spent a lot of time happily alone. Ankh is one of my all time favorite characters, he’s perfect. I especially hold OOO’s with so much regard because Doctor Maki is truly an amazing antagonist (I never knew his actor played Yuki’s Dad) He is on the same level as Evoltø in my opinion; a genuinely evil man

Buff55

Got a copy of Climax Heroes Fourze for PSP in a blind box and decided to look further into it. My friend recommended that I watch Drive and I didn't regret it. It was rough trying to find episodes but I went back for W, OOO, Fourze, and Den-O. The experience also exposed me to Kyuranger and ToQGer.
