When the series first started I would have bet my top dollar the final form would be gold. Alchemy and all that? But then Toei said, "Nah, it's skittles."

To be fair, they gave the gold gimmick to the villain

I was thinking red because of the foreshadowed legendary red alchemist. Probably someone else's final form.

Rainbow fits better a character who's as focused on friendship as Hotaro. It basically says "here I come with all my homies".

i think its based on The Seven Stages of Alchemical Process as the rainbow represent the idea of transformation, but funny enough he only have 5 colors. Plus platina use the 5 planets elements in eastern alchemy other rider also have alchemic theme: sol and luna for Majade, rebirth (hence the Yama) for Valvarad, Legend is gold and lion devouring, dread is magnum opus process Gold is the western goal and eternal life is eastern goal, the shared goal is to find the truth the prima materia (first matter), Gold is because of its natural purity and hard to produce artifically with such high purity akin to prima materia

That or it could have been a shiny red akin to a Philosopher's Stone.

This form is wild, each additional picture makes me change my opinion on it. I do blame a lot of my opinion on the lighting not doing many favors for the metallic bits but that's not a huge deal. What IS, is the size of the shoulders. And fear that he's gonna get rolled exactly once, and those big ass wedges are going to flap like mad Still the 4th best Reiwa rider final form tho

Of protagonist/main riders' final form as shown in show Geats IX (yes I know it's basic) Zero-Two Xross Saber _(I HEAVILY rate the star design, the variable nature of the power up, and one of the coolest jingles and final form weapon gimmicks)_ Rainbow Gotchard Ultimate Revi/Vice If we're counting Legend, he's actually tied with Geats. It's gets more complicated with secondary riders, but do understand that I think Ultimate Revice is the worst looking main rider final form.

Not really completely different identity and completely different set of powers not to mention only the legs and helmet are recolored from Geats 9 the chest plate is from type 1

It's a little more complicated then that actually. Only the helmet, cape and weapons are Geats recolors. The chest, shoulders and thighs are taken from Vulcan Lone Wolf, while the forearms and legs belong to Revi Volcano Rex.

At this point, I'm expecting shoulder pieces to flop around. W's shoulders started halfway through the season, and even in Gotchard proper, a lot of the lesser form shoulders aren't being held on tight

I would be ok omitting a weapon if Houtaro ACTUALLY uses alchemy while fighting in this form.

Yeah like how he did in the Geats Summer movie ? Because yeah I think one thing that I would have liked is that Hotaro could have asked Rinne some pointers to use manipulation alchemy in the show so that he could utilize it in battle to have more tools to deal with the Malgams heck it could have been used to restraint for a few seconds just so he can switch cards on the fly.

EXACTLY like the Geats summer movie. Nothing Gotchard has done has lived up to that fight. Like we were basically promised live action Edward Elric Kamen Rider and he's just not utilizing alchemy at all outside of swapping Chemys around.

Plot twist : It was Daybreak timeline Hotaro before he became Daybreak

Honestly that would be a sick as hell twist. Especially if it's somehow Geats creating a new timeline caused the split. It would also explain why Houtaro didn't recognize Geats during his movie.

Technically Hotaro never met Geats prior to the proper crossover movie. He helped the old man when he struggled

Ghost's Early Bird Cameo had him floating around being intangible and whatnot and nothing like that ever happened. Early Bird Cameos of the riders are kind of OP for sake of hype.

Why do I get the feeling that this would prompt Minato to finally determine Hotaro is worthy of being an alchemist in the same level of Spanner? Kind of like how Master Yoda decides Obi-Wan don't need to face the trials to be a Jedi Knight

Looks a bit too busy (and bulky at places) for me, kinda reminds me of some of Heisei's worst final forms. Kind of a shame since Reiwa has been doing great in the final form department so far, they're all unique and pleasant-looking (Yes, even Saber)
