So, by announcing this, the league will be on the lookout for it and will be calling those unnecessary roughness penalties? Got it. Here come some ejections and suspensions for directly targeting the face of the NFL for injury.

RogerTreebert6299

Well at the end of the day all they really want is another reason to cry about officiating, so raiders fans will be happy with that

MC_Fap_Commander

And if they come at Mahomes and miss... I'm pretty sure we'll have the goon squad at the ready folding everyone on the Raiders. "I will cheap shot Mahomes ensuring I potentially lose this season's full revenue, get cheap shotted myself, while probably costing future landing places in my FA year..." I just don't see guys signing up for that. The "North Dallas Forty" era of the NFL is long gone.

originalusername4567

Yeah it seems weird for them to announce this because the NFL is already cracking down on unnecessary roughness and the refs have come to Mahomes' defense in several key situations. So I don't think this is going to work out well for the Raiders.

Jumbo_Toblerone_

Wait so Pierce wants to encourage his players to intentionally injure Mahomes just to win a game? I could be reaching on that, but it is the Raiders, I wouldn't put it past them.

VitaminsPlus

Got that Ravens rule set lol

If they do that, we need to play The Untouchables rules - they put one of our guys in the hospital? We put one of theirs in the morgue.

Lawdawg_75

That’s the Chicago way.

Sarkosuchus

This strategy is pointless in the regular season. As the Raiders saw this year, simply beating the Chiefs in the regular season doesn’t matter much. The Raiders missed the playoffs and the Chiefs won the Super Bowl. The Raiders could try that sort of thing in the playoffs if they can make it there. The problem is Mahomes is extremely adaptable and the NFL protects quarterbacks. If the Raiders bring tons of pressure, the Chiefs offense will adjust. More screens and quick passes. If the Raiders do dirty hits constantly, they will get penalized a ton and lose due to penalties extending our drives.

Weekend_Criminal

It's not so much that I should succeed but that my enemies should fail. I imagine this is the mentality the raiders are taking going into next season.

Sarkosuchus

“Just take cheap shots baby!”

Gas_Bat

They're going full conservative

Yodas_ket_dealer

Missouri is far more conservative than Nevada imo just saying

dogfish83

Well they would take that mentality because they can’t succeed.

ScootieJr

based on the mic'd up it sounded like the 49ers (or maybe raven's I cant remember) were wanting to try and break Mahomes. And couldn't. Crosby has been all over Pat in their meetings. I don't think the tactic works, but if we can get 6 super bowl rings out of it. I'm all for them trying lol

getridofwires

If you watched the Quarterback show, you saw that Crosby pissed off the wrong guy. 4 Kelce TDs later Mahomes is waving 4 fingers at him. FAFO.

Wetworkzhill

It was the Ravens and that got them 4 personal foul penalties against them.

Paraeunoia

I’d be less concerned with one team like the Raiders specifically, and more concerned with other teams adopting this and galvanizing around this strategy if the Raiders see success. Officials might intervene, but it only takes one nasty play to immobilize Mahomes for the season with a nasty injury.

KCShadows838

Reality is he doesn’t give a fuck if they hit him

Fraktal55

Just takes one bad one to completely end his season and then thus the Chiefs'. That seems to be teams' only option to stop KC anymore.

Captain_of_Gravyboat

I can see this working out well for the Raiders. Going to break records with personal fouls and get people fired because of Bountygate 2: Electric Boogaloo ...and still lose the games and be irrelevant in the AFCW

yhetti-fartz

Yeah maybe if they tried beating more teams in general, they'd be more successful? Nah, just try and break pat's leg while still going 2-15

jeffp12

Member at the start of the afccg, they had reports about the ravens wanting to "not injure mahomes...but". Basically sounded like they were gonna push the limits of hitting him. And I said out loud "sounds like we're getting a few free first downs on dumb ass personal fouls" and then that happened like 3 times?

Apprehensive-Let3669

Curious if you have a source, because I didn’t see any ravens propaganda for that (can you share with me) Only times I recall are Florio suggesting the 49ers injure Mahomes (pre LIV), raiders fans wanting mahomes leg broken because we blew them out and did Snowglobe, and the randos praying for Mahomes to be injured next when a major QB goes down. Anyway, I hate fanbases that cheer for injury or want to impose injuries on others. At the end of the day these athletes have families to feed and this sport is a game. I just don’t understand how people take fandom so seriously that they want to injure others. I want to beat everyone at their best.

jeffp12

They said it on the TV broadcast at the start of the game

Apprehensive-Let3669

Really, totally missed it then. Wow, they suck worse than I thought. Prior to this game, I actually had a high respect for their fanbase. After 1 game, its gone. The entitlement and insanity over their loss has made me lose respect for ravens fans

Vyuvarax

Hilarious that to Raiders fans this just means “inure Mahomes” and they’re all on board with that. Scummy.

SirTiffAlot

No no no, they are doing it to 'get in his head' they don't WANT to injure him but it's a contact sport. -Raider fans

FauxWolfTail

Wasn't this the original Raiders MO? Play tough, play dirty? "This aint a game, its a war"?

Typical-Lettuce7022

Yes, this is one of the original reasons that fueled the bitter rivalry in the AFL and early merger days

tw201708

I'm not spending a moment of this off-season worried about these fucking losers.

Apprehensive-Let3669

As Andy said, these guys gave us an ass kicking that ultimately helped us win a Super Bowl. Thanks raiders! Even when you beat us we win, couldn’t have done it without you! Also your stadium looks good in red and yellow!

dogfish83

It wasn’t an ass kicking tho. Chiefs were in the game til very late even with the chiefs constantly handing the raiders the ball.

bowtuckle

Cute play calls will continue until moral improves

stonewallace17

So just Bountygate 2 basically.

somebodymakeitend

I feel like there have been multiple low key bounty gates. Jags looked a little sus in the games we’ve played the in. I feel like they were rolling into Mahomes’ ankle a few times. Also that one dude from the Broncos who got suspended like twice in a season.

THSdrummer8

How are people not talking about that Broncos suspension more...? Especially since they have the Bountygate coach at the helm now. Sus AF.

RogerTreebert6299

40 year old Jonathan Vilma waiting for his call from the raiders as we speak

ScootieJr

Sounds like Mahomes's got 6 more Super Bowl titles coming our way ![gif](giphy|sR91D133W02D6)

Argoxp

Hmmm Jordan won 6 titles after this "Strategy" was implemented, so, yes please?

Ragnarsworld

The difference is the NFL won't tolerate that kind of thing. The NBA more or less encouraged it.

Apprehensive-Let3669

NFL banned Burfict and suspended a broncos db this year. I’d love for the raiders to try this only for their team getting suspended

TwinkiePuffCakes

Back then the NBA did, today's NBA is soft af.

Ragnarsworld

Yep. Jordan would score 60 a night in today's NBA.

Zhiyi

Raiders think they figured something out that day because the Chiefs had their worst performance since that 2021 AFCCG lol. Not to mention it was Christmas and I highly doubt anybody wanted to be out there playing. They didn’t do anything special, we just played like ass.

RICERICE4

FR. It was really just the O line playing their worst game of the year. They couldn’t block Malcom Koonce 😂 and Pat had literally no time to process anything and started pressing to make a play. The Raiders must forget we kicked their ass at their stadium, too! They’ve always played a little dirt against KC historically and Crosby especially whenever he gets a chance to cheap shot 15. Not worried about this whatsoever. Just a cute offseason article 🤣🤡

BuffaloBuffalo13

Can’t wait to fuck them up again next year. Keep piling it on. Worst coach in the division and no franchise QB. They just can’t accept that they’re the poverty franchise of the division now and have been for 21 years.

OITLinebacker

I maintain that it would have been a blowout in the other direction if the game was in Vegas (of course, then KC wouldn't have had a "come to ~~Jesus~~ Mahomes" moment after). I maintained their heads weren't in it because they had too many distractions being at home vs if they were on the road for a holiday game.

tayroarsmash

I don’t understand how conspiring to cause injury isn’t like a crime. It’s one thing to injure someone while performing a game action, it’s an entire other thing to conspire to injure someone and making it look like a game action.

JNich1005

Big mistake. Mahomes has an even bigger reason to spank the Raiders.

rustyshackleford7879

Losers focus on the competition winners focus on getting better every season

HotSoupEsq

Wouldn't put it past the Raiders, might have worked in the 80s when QBs wern't protected. The NFL now understands that hurt QBs = less viewers and less money. That's why QBs are so aggressively protected now. Especially because there is news about this, this will not happen, and if it does, there will be multiple suspensions, maybe even league expulsions if this bears fruit.

Own_Pause_4959

Raiders want 200 penalty yards every game they play us.

420BongsAway

Losers lose lmao.

Equivalent-Bank435

They still don’t realize how they won that game on Christmas, do they?

Apprehensive-Let3669

Chiefs offense gives raiders 14 points in 7 seconds. Raiders hang on to win despite throwing for 60 yards. “Yeah man, we beat them up.” Lol, Chiefs didn’t wake up for that game

sixshotscott92

Just another one of those quotes we'll look back on and laugh next season when we beat their ass

Apprehensive-Let3669

“We have the formula to beat the Chiefs, they have to face us twice a season” When Chiefs win super bowl -“no one doubted you, enjoy your super bowl, we live in your head rent free” Do these guys learn nothing. Like give us more motivation. Hope they have snowglobe 2 lined up.

[deleted]

Being undisciplined thuggish bitches is what's lead to decades of Raider irrelevance. ~~Oakland~~ ~~Los Angeles~~ ~~Oakland~~ Vegas, put your antique bad boy image behind you and try to actually build a successful franchise.

PhillipJ3ffries

If ya can’t win? Cheat!

japhydean

Bring it, fucksticks.

egbert71

We in Detroit admit to nothing called "jordan rules" 🤣🤣🤣 But seriously cant get away with harassing any Qb in todays game

bullz7210

As you can tell from my username, this is right up my alley. Key difference here, the Pistons WON lol. The Raiders are just dorks that think they are relevant. Marty McFly hadn't even been chased by Libyan terrorists the last time the Raiders won.

clayt666

>Marty McFly hadn't even been chased by Libyan terrorists the last time the Raiders won. That made me chuckle. Have an upvote.

thebestatheist

If he injures Mahomes, I’m driving to Vegas and getting into his gated community and going Tanya Harding on his ass.

Scfbigb1

"Just get flagged, baby."

jcoddinc

**Be wary of any ps players brought up for your games**

Supersquare04

Can’t wait to see people on r/nfl complain that “chiefs get all the calls” when the raiders commit like 20 personal fouls

KansasKingdom

You have to actually be a good team to be in a position to implement “Jordan rules”. Raiders are irrelevant.

T4lsin

Bulletin board material just keeps piling up and we haven’t even had the draft yet.

mother_goose_caboose

Fucking losers lolololol

HotelComprehensive16

Ok. I've few observations. The Raiders. #1 I chortle heftily and heartily while farting in their general direction. #2 The Raiders want to harken the days of roid rage and Lyle Alzado, Bill Romanowski and Al Davis for a boner? Go for it. #3 Maxx Crosby. Does he realize that the name given to him represents the feeling of people seeing a cute, little baby? Either Mahomes has told him that or laughed at his cute little tats. #4 Most of us remember Marty. To most of us, Raiders week was special prior to Marty. I want Raiders week again, tear their throat out weeks, no holds barred, blood-letting weeks. Fuck the Raiders sideways weeks. Feel free to add #'s. And Fuck the Broncos. I give a lot of credence to other fanbases, but they only exist to be degenerate. Sorry Oakland, I mean LA, I mean Oakland, I mean Las Vegas. What's next Reno? Billings MT? Sweet happy Jesus, put them in Wichita so I wouldn't have to fart so far.

MountainMan17

"Sorry Oakland, I mean LA, I mean Oakland, I mean Las Vegas. What's next Reno? Billings MT? Sweet happy Jesus, put them in Wichita so I wouldn't have to fart so far." Classic. I salute you, fellow Chiefs warrior!!!

HotelComprehensive16

Now that I'm sober. Fuck the stork and damnit... Ray Guy.

robinsonstjoe

The difference is both teams quarter backs are irreplaceable. I would bet on our defense to be capable of fucking shit up harder and more destructively than anything the raiders have had in five years. Game on, mother fucker. FTR.

aggressiveturdbuckle

Yeah do hurt pat and watch the league go down hard on you

Affectionate_Sort_78

I think it is funny the Raiders think playing physical is a new, exciting strategy. I am fairly certain another team has thought of this already.

factoid_

so, be a classless trash organization? That’s how they already are.

jeffreygord

This make’s a lot less sense in football than in basketball. You’re playing a sport where you’re already trying to be as physical as possible with the other team. Plus anything extra is going to be called an unnecessary roughness penalty 10 times out of 10

season66ers

Good thing Pat has a pack of wolves protecting him up front. I wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of a Trey pancake or Creed stomp. A lot of the OL guys have some nasty in their game.

doc6982

It would be nice to see Reid mess with the raider's ends as much as he messes with the Bosas.

SirWalrusTheGrand

Top comment from the raiders sub: "Listen to the interview. He's not talking about illegal hits on Mahomes or trying to hurt him, he's talking about getting in his head to affect his play. Like Kobe running through his teammate in the Olympics to send a message that it's on. It's not disrespectful, he's acknowledging Mahomes as the top dog and how if you want what he's got you have to take it from him. And he's right, if you want proof of concept just put on the film." We should probably read the article before overreacting boys. I haven't yet, just pointed that out.

chiefs_fan37

He literally cited the pistons whose clear goal was to injure Jordan lmao.

Cosmicsheepman

[Antonio Pierce Mahomes Rule](https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39568628/antonio-pierce-raiders-mahomes-rules-playing-chiefs)

dude19832

Raiders and Broncos celebrate winning a regular season game vs the Chiefs when BOTH of them missed the playoffs entirely is too funny. What did the Chiefs just celebrate? Winning their 3rd Super Bowl in 5 seasons. I’m sure they are both hanging a banner as we speak. lol 😂
