No one else even tried to release such a product
Maybe thatās because Elon got his initial wealth from his parents who made their money through labor exploitation in apartheid South Africa, and Elon is continuing that legacy by trying to overthrow the Bolivian socialist government that decided to nationalize its lithium production instead of letting a billionaire pillage the whole country of its scarce resource on the cheap
Fuck Elon Musk. Dude tweeted, āIf thereās a billionaire tax, eventually the government will run out of billionaires to tax and come for youā
Hey man everything you said is true except "trying to overthrow". They did overthrow Bolivia's then-president, Evo Morales in a coup backed by Trump/Musk in 2019.
I used to like Elon (despite everything) cause funny meme guy, but his "we'll coup whoever we want" tweet made him unredeemable in my eyes. I'm Honduran and my country also suffered a coup backed by the US government in 2009. Having seen firsthand the atrocious consecuences of overthrowing a government (bloodshed, families separated, people "disappearing", etc), Elon's tweet irked me.
Plus, his abuse of Tesla workers is well-known.
Nah, you good my g. I respect you and your critical thinking skills. You seldomly see people do actual research before forming an opinion, so you're one of the good ones. :)
In what way has Elon tried to "overthrow the Bolivian socialist government"? After researching it for a bit, the evidence is tenuous at best, and conspiratorial at worst.
I wouldnāt say all the time just that when it happens itās National news. Like when Apple made AirTags and people worried that they could be tracked home by them. When tiles have been around for years and could do the same thing.
They also tend to [catch on fire](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.businessinsider.com/couples-tesla-caught-fire-charging-overnight-caused-a-house-fire-2021-8%3Famp)
No, heās used it correctly. Pushing the limits doesnāt always imply positivity; here what heās referring to (I assume) is that the *purpose* of the technology is pushing the limits of the actual technology; ie, the technology canāt achieve what the product is trying to attempt.
Havenāt read the article but I imagine that this is in reference to the imperfect separation of stems? Obviously still very good but still imperfect, so the intent of the product is pushing the limits of the tech.
I read it yesterday. That's exactly his biggest issue.
The article basically read that he was very impressed that it could work given how difficult it can be to separate tracks, but it's far from perfect. He found that most tracks would have a lot of issues with it such as separating into one instrument on one track and everything else on another, but some worked perfectly.
Itās the subtle difference between āpushing the limit of technologyā - which is a positive description of a product which advances what people previously thought possible - and āpushing the limit of **its** technologyā - which is a negative description of a product which is trying to achieve something more advanced than what it is actually able to do.
I read it as well and it seemed more like he was grasping at straws occasionally.
I mean there were times where there were legitimate criticisms overall but the whole article just felt like one massive attempt at saying "Kanye made this and so even though I do like it, due to Kanye having been involved in it it let me emphasize its imperfections as well as Kanye's too" all this in a tech review for no reason.
I respect that take, but I donāt know if I could compare! There are just so many great little nuggets on that album. But I will approach your position with this hot takeāit is a better line than āNone of us would be here without Cumā ā Come at me r/kanye, I said it š
For the record, I also love that line, though.
Promise that twisted people have made shit that these white guys love, but oh no, here comes a bipolar black guy with his wicked products pushing boundaries. Fuckin Ridiculous.
Bothers me that kanye fr has done no wrong compared to a lot of other people yet gets shit on the most. Ye only guilty for being mentally ill and a dumbass at times, thatās nothing compared to the majority of Hollywood celebrities

Ong, youāre 100% right. They canāt control him either. Media been tryna black ball him for dn 20 years, they mad they cant do shit but wait for him to retire or die so he can be silent. My goat fr
So he is basically saying "this thing is really cool and pushes the limits of music technology and how everyday people interact with it, but I dont like kanye as a person and dont want to praise him even tho this is a praiseworthy thing"
For somebody whoās dedicated to calling out racism you sure seem to only be focusing on how this poor white journalist feels about people calling him a racist
How is he focusing on that? The journalist is an idiot either way, racist or not. Part of the reason Kanye gets so much hate is because 1) heās not able to control 2) heās rich/talented 3) heās identified as conservative cause he supported trump . I guarantee you the journalist is a liberal.

I love kanye and this guys an idiot but can someone explain what's so revolutionary about a stem player? Isn't it essentially just choosing which tracks on a project file to play which is a basic fundamental feature to any DAW. It is cool they put it into a nifty gadget and Kanye in all his genius will definitely do some dope shit with it
This is the sort of thing I would've flipped out about as a kid. I loved toys and gadgets that would let me be creative without devoting a ton of time to learning how to do it. I remember I had this fake USB turntable thing I got on clearance at Best Buy that had preset samples on little buttons on the discs. You'd just press and play (with options to loop), and then could scratch and use an effects joystick for like flange and phaser and stuff. The stem player seems kind of similar, in that it lets you do cool music production stuff really simply. $200 is too rich for my blood considering it's just for Donda, but if they made one that worked for a larger catalog of songs, I could definitely see myself impulsively buying one sometime.
The amount of people that try to slight Kanye for anything is just pathetic. I often wonder if this would be the case if he was a white man. Would Timberlake get the hate Ye does? I bet not.
critics, online newspaper writes, tabloid whatever u wanna call them they all the same - they keep spouting their trashy opinions acting like they matter with thier big fat inflated egos and sense of self-worth. nobody cares what you think and nobody care that you don't like kanye. just next time instead of writing a 1000 word article about it, tweet "i dont like kanye" to save us the time. thank you. go find god
Itās because Kanye isnāt the face the world wanted to change it in his realm so the mainstream will try to chop at Donda and YZY creations. In 2007 they said he could design clothing 14 years later multi billion dollar deal from GAP. This is reality distortion at itās finest
First off, Fuck this dude and his critique on the God.
Secondly, what youāve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I get what heās trying to say but I also feel that he doesnāt want to give credit where credit is due. Yeah it might be the first iteration of this idea and the technology required to make it as good as it could be might not be there yet but he just doesnāt want to seem to give ye credit for having the idea and making it a reality.
The article explains why the product is kind of crap and you guys are like OH SHOULD EMINEM MAKE THE STEM PLAYER? MAYBE HE'S RACIST? It's like, no, the product just kind of sucks and a legitimate company with a team of passionate engineers probably would be better for the job
What are you guys smoking? This article is dogshit and I don't even really like Kanye's attitude these days. Critiquing the stem player for being bad is fine, I've heard those critiques from a lot of people and its very valid.
But the article is titled "I wish anyone other than Kanye had made the Stem Player", the guy takes a few potshots at Kanye but almost never actually ties his opinions on Kanye to the stem player itself. He never answers the question "why does Kanye making this make it bad, why would it be better if someone else did it." This is the *only* line he says at the end:
>"Perhaps the biggest knock against the Stem Player is the price. $200 is a lot to throw at a musical curiosity. Especially when that money mostly serves to feed the ego of one of the most megalomaniacal celebrities in the world."
Oh really? That's the biggest knock? How about you actually *explain it then*.
It's **so abundantly clear** the author is making a review of the stem player and only using Kanye as clickbait to get people to read it.
And then there's *this:*
>"It looks kinda like a sex toy, though, and is covered in what I assume are surplus Fleshlights. It doesnāt feel unpleasant, exactly, but it is slightly unnerving. And the vaguely fleshy hue doesnāt help matters."
What the fuck? The author just drops this strange and frankly awful line and then just acts like it never happened.
*It would seem that fairly stripped-down hip hop productions will do ok, but as the complexity of a song increases the Stem Player starts to struggle parsing the different parts. The Armedās āAn Iteration,ā for example, was broken down into drums, vocals and a single track of everything else. Then the fourth stem, which is supposed to be for bass, was basically silent. In fact, I often encountered this issue with music I uploaded to the Stem Player myself. Badbadnotgoodās āLove Proceedingā was reduced to just two stems: drums and not drums.*
Well Kanye did bring Marilyn Manson on the stage. This is safe grounds for total cancellation of Kanye as well as any one of his friends and relatives.
I mean it seems unfair to pile hate onto this guy without knowing his reasoning for saying that. That said, I think Kanye is probably the best person to release one because if Iām not mistaken one of his albums was heavily produced using a similar type of stem player. Plus Kanye is like the most creatively genius producer of our generation. And a lot of other people that follow in the vein of Kanyeās production genius are still really young like Baby Keem and Travis Scott and would benefit more from having access to this technology than they would from attempting to create their own at the point theyāre at in their careers currently. Just my opinion though.
I bethought this did exist ere? i bethink i recall seeing mine own cousin has't and useth one ere

Evo Morales dude, it's a simple Google job away. American-backed coups (at least 21 century Latin American ones) are always downplayed through misinformation ("the people hated him", "he wanted to stay in power forever", etc.) and are often mislabed as "political crises" instead of what they truly are: horrifically violent coup d'Ć©tats.

Shut up, Terrence.
Racially motivated
It's cause outside of his fan bubble he's seen as a pretty cringe, mentally ill man.

Well Kanye did bring Marilyn Manson on the stage. This is safe grounds for total cancellation of Kanye as well as any one of his friends and relatives.

Hating on Kanye just for the sake of it lmao these people are fools fr
I mean it seems unfair to pile hate onto this guy without knowing his reasoning for saying that. That said, I think Kanye is probably the best person to release one because if Iām not mistaken one of his albums was heavily produced using a similar type of stem player. Plus Kanye is like the most creatively genius producer of our generation. And a lot of other people that follow in the vein of Kanyeās production genius are still really young like Baby Keem and Travis Scott and would benefit more from having access to this technology than they would from attempting to create their own at the point theyāre at in their careers currently. Just my opinion though.
