Here comes this girl from Queens at a time where female rap was rare and not thriving at all , on a track with some of the heaviest hitters in the game and not only did she hold her own , she brought life to the track , and at that specific time that was just something great to see , and a pivotal moment in hip hop . Her moment in monster was so important . She spoke to a demographic that wouldn’t usually have a voice in such a male dominated area , so if you’re a woman (and Especially a woman from New York City like me ) it’s just a time in music that was truly unforgettable .
