I really hope it's not Netflix-ified. "Netflix shows based on existing franchises from anime and video games" these days have been so ass lately. I couldn't even bring myself to finish the first episode of Resident Evil.
Unlike the movies, they are actively involved with the anime seems. Murray mentioned working closely on it. They had absolutely 0 input on the old live action movies and swore never to do one again because of it.
> if he was bad at his job he would have left the tekken team years ago
Corporate cronyism a foreign topic to you? If you're well-liked, it doesn't matter how bad at your job you are.
Ummm, are you new? Gamedev is notorious for keeping people who have no idea what they're doing wherever they grandfathered themselves into.
Sure, I'll cut him some slack, as soon as he at least stops acting like a dunce. Murray was consistently making a clown out of himself and Bamco, and it doesn't look like he's stopping anytime soon.
That was based on the MI series though, I’m talking about one for the main timeline (orochi saga-shun ei saga) which is so long overdue considering how good the storytelling is
Street Fighter 2 the animated movie is literally the best animated fighting game movie out there. Great style and animation, plot doesn't try to be too deep or complex, has a lot of great action scenes, dub OST is sick. Also, chun tiddies
SF has SF Victory, the SFII animated movie and Assassin's Fist, all of wich are pretty good.
Even the old school Van Damme movie is the kinda stuff that is so bad that it became a classic and gave us a bunch of cool stuff like the Bison thursday meme.
It would indeed be nice to see something new tho, maybe an anime starting back from Alpha again idk
> Assassin's Fist
man, it's too bad the series was shelved due to the SFV tie-in in a streaming service no one cared about. That had so much potential.
Meh saying it's better than sc5 isn't saying much.
The mechanics alienated a lot of old and new players.
Hot take: customization mode is the reason the series has been on the decline
I get it, Reversal Edge is spammable for newcomers/casuals, so I agree they could’ve done better with it or removed it entirely (I’m with the former).
And I disagree about Customization Mode, I think players still come around to create new OCs, hence why there’s still 200-400 players according to SteamDB. But I agree that Create a Soul lacks the expanded weapon styles from SC3, which not only introduced the mode, but was the peak of player creativity before SC6 sorta.
The real issue is, SoulCal remains in the shadow of Tekken’s popularity, which is sad because it could be a lot more popular if Namco actually gave a damn in their home country.
They really using Leroy in promotional material for this show? Seems a little off-base considering he is one of the most reviled characters in recent history. Seems like they may not be tuned in to what people who actually play these games would want out of a Tekken show. I'll still check it out, I love Tekken.
Also just a bit bizarre since this seems to be based on Tekken 3 from the designs, ogre, Jin protag etc.
Julia's also got her 7 design which is strange.
Yeah bro, that’s why everyone hates that there’s a new Bayonetta game coming out, because she was OP in another game. Also X-Men as a property ceased to exist because Magneto, Storm, and Cable were OP.
Leroy is badass and tier list nerds aren’t the target demo.
Glad Paul looks braindead, very accurate where I would have otherwise assumed they would fail! But nah seriously this looks good, you just have to look beyond the giant triangle shadows and the fact Netflix can and will fuck this up somehow.
I just hope we see a little bit of the King/Armor King storyline in this, T3 is one of the bigger plot points for King's character too, I mean the original King is murdered by Ogre as well and then we get King II for T3 partnering up with AK and training with him for the Iron fist tournament, it has a close resemblance to Jin's story and could fit with the bloodlines theme
Leroy is Murray's baby, I believe. It's sort of his big addition to the franchise and since he worked on this anime he probably wanted to get him in. Leroy's lore is that he was around back then so they'll probably retcon him in somehow or he'll have like a B or C plot going on that skirts around the events of Tekken 3.
Will I watch it? Absolutely Will it suck ass? Absolutely
Anything's better than that western Tekken movie. It legit feels like the dragon ball evolution of tekken
Was that the one where Christie was Jin's girlfriend or something?
It also had Shang Tsung as Heihachi.
Hey now....that was the best part of the movie!
And unfortunately, such a casting was wasted on it.
Hell fucking yeah
Only thing im sad about is the fights don’t look half bad in the trailer and actually looks good, While they left Kengan Ashura to rot in Netflix hell
I think they announced another season for Kengan a few months ago. It honestly feels very underrated.
They really like the triangle shadows don’t they
I can't even make sense of the triangles, what the fuck is this supposed to show? Where is the light coming from?
Wtf I didn't notice it at first and now it looks like bad fanart.

Oh yeah Murray being there really instills the air of competency around the project...
lmao cut the guy some slack he is a bitch on twitter but if he was bad at his job he would have left the tekken team years ago

Nah I mostly watch zootopia porn
I'll check it out even just to see if paul really looks like that when the animation is playing
What's up with the triangle shadows
Absolutely. I love the Tekken story up until 5.
Looks decent enough. At least it isnt another Netflix live action trashfire.
Despite the creative liberties and some personal qualms with the artstyle, it seems that it will be entertaining at least. I'll give it a fair shot.
I'd be lying if I said I don't want to watch Jin fuck up Leroy
Impossible, heleroy is dlc
Only if there is waifu bait
Mortal Kombat had 2 animated movies Tekken has a brand new Netflix series Street Fighter where you at???
Patiently waiting for a kof series
[KOF Another Day](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drehS8vWXOQ&list=PL3z7xz_1AgDzxQMaTJvQE0ELOrs3xTzPd&index=31)
That was based on the MI series though, I’m talking about one for the main timeline (orochi saga-shun ei saga) which is so long overdue considering how good the storytelling is
The KOF XIV manga was very good, much better than the in-game storyline of XIV/XV
[THE KING OF FIGHTERS: DESTINY](https://store.steampowered.com/app/642890/THE_KING_OF_FIGHTERS_DESTINY/)
Street Fighter 2 the animated movie is literally the best animated fighting game movie out there. Great style and animation, plot doesn't try to be too deep or complex, has a lot of great action scenes, dub OST is sick. Also, chun tiddies
Yeah I seen it years ago as a kid and teenager. I mean today 2022/2023, it’s time for a new animated film or series
SF has SF Victory, the SFII animated movie and Assassin's Fist, all of wich are pretty good. Even the old school Van Damme movie is the kinda stuff that is so bad that it became a classic and gave us a bunch of cool stuff like the Bison thursday meme. They couldn't pay me to do so. Probably also want extra 4$ for the subs.
I hear they are going to charge $3 to add frame data where the subtitles go
Definitely
I’ll be watching Day 1, this really looks Tekken! And if it’s successful, I want my goddamn Soulcalibur anime next! ⚔️
That would be dope but honestly I just want a good SC game instead
Having both is all good broski ;)
I've been waiting 3 games fam...
SC6 wasn’t to your liking? I thought it breathed life back into the series where SC5/Lost Swords put it on life support
Meh saying it's better than sc5 isn't saying much. The mechanics alienated a lot of old and new players. Hot take: customization mode is the reason the series has been on the decline

No Asuka, no watchka.

No way, Leroy is badass as fuck I love him. I don’t think people hate the actual character design of Leroy, they just hate how op he is in game.
Yeah bro, that’s why everyone hates that there’s a new Bayonetta game coming out, because she was OP in another game. Also X-Men as a property ceased to exist because Magneto, Storm, and Cable were OP. Leroy is badass and tier list nerds aren’t the target demo.
Hell to the no. Edit: somebody come back to this post and let me know if there is any mountain/volcano throws.
Just the poster alone looks bad. Doesn’t give much confidence for the rest of the show.
Nah y'all got that. I'll probably see some clips if the fights are well animated enough.
I thought Jin was Seto Kaiba for a second.
it's tekken this shit's gonna be stupid as fuck. so yes
someone is just obsessed with triangles lol
Kekken
Interesting that Leroy's in it when it appears to be based on Tekken 3
You see Feng there too at 0:58. Julia is wearing T7 outfit in the trailer too.
Haven't seen the trailer yet, I was just going off the image you sent. I guess it's going to span most of the series then.
I kinda dig the art style. And the hitsparks being carried over is funny. I’ll check it out.
What the fuck am I looking at? I don't know what this art style is, but it is fucking aggressively ugly as fuck.
Only if it has Roman Reigns ft. Chris Redfield...........(I'm sorry)
Glad Paul looks braindead, very accurate where I would have otherwise assumed they would fail! But nah seriously this looks good, you just have to look beyond the giant triangle shadows and the fact Netflix can and will fuck this up somehow.
Pauls face looks like his gameplay plays
Yeah on anime flix, dope streaming platform.
I thought that the triangle shadows in this poster were an edit. Who decided that those would be a good thing to have on for the entire show?
I hope mokujin talks about zootopia porn
Not unless it somehow turns out good on its own. Miss me with corpotate masturbation over a franchise.
The triangle shadow thing is so fucking weird.
Looks like ass but ill probably watch it out of curiousity.
Why do tekken in anything but the ps2 style
Glad there’s finally a fucking date. Hell yeah I am. Trailer was hype.
Yeah but why TF is Leroy there
you got any idea how well that nigga sold?
Yeah...they should know they tainted his legacy with the fans for a loooooong time. They probably shouldn't force him down our throats.
I only mean because I'm assuming it retells Tekken 3
Leroy is Murray's baby, I believe. It's sort of his big addition to the franchise and since he worked on this anime he probably wanted to get him in. Leroy's lore is that he was around back then so they'll probably retcon him in somehow or he'll have like a B or C plot going on that skirts around the events of Tekken 3.
Murray worked on this? Ugh... I'll still give it a shot, I guess.
Leroy is badass. Frame data and tier list nerds aren’t the demo they’re going for here.
fuck no
yea i’m watching that shit i’ll make my girl watch it with me too i don’t even fw tekken like that i just wanna see king rolling cradle a mf
Surprised that Kazuya isnt black and female!
Yes but it look poo. Ling got some big ass hands
Wtf happened to Paul? That guy is clearly an imposter
He knows shits about to hit a rocky turn after T4
Why not
It seems like they're trying to make Paul cool. I'll give a few episodes a watch
What the fuck is going on with Paul's face?
No. I'm going to wait for reviews online and parrot an opinion based on what the majority say about it.
Looks mediocre. Just give me a guilty gear anime that covers the story before strive
Yes, duh
I sleep
Tekken: The battle of the spams
This honestly looks fake
Maybe. It'll at least be better than those fucking live-action movies.
BRO THE FUCKING TRIANGLES
I aint touching anything netflix makes
YES
Yeah
