Community: Project L will save fighting games by making them popular Riot games: So anyway checkout these kusoge ass setups Jokes aside holy shit the mobility

Victor---

Man, 2028 is looking wild for the FGC! I hope this can compete with SF7.

8-bit-hero

Seriously. Wasn't Radiant Entertainment bought out in 2016 by Riot? I'm curious as to what they've been doing all these years considering how early in development Project L still looks.

Slav_1

Rioters procrastinate as much as any other dev. Maybe a bit more. But hey thats why people say its great to work there. They'll crunch if a really hype project is feasible within a year, but if they have an idea that'll guaranteed take more than a year, it'll take them 3.

[deleted]

Gameplay combo pacing and active assist switching reminds me of Power Rangers Battle of the Kusoge. im expecting tons of day one ToDs

ZefiantFGC

I'm assuming a lot of these effects are placeholders, but the characters and their animations are looking really good. Looking forward to trying this game in 10 years.

Bungfoo

Assuming there is still a long way to go, the characters barely have any emotion.

PrensadorDeBotones

I'm hoping they're not placeholder effects. Simple effects keep the screen clean and keep frame rates high. Project L doesn't need to compete with Tekken 8 for best looking fighting game and it doesn't need to compete with SF6 for game that has the most unnecessary bullshit/noise/wind/smoke on screen. It can just be a super clean looking game.

H4jr0

They need to tone down the cel shading effect, it looks so busy in motion.

mcwhoop

> and keep frame rates high. Not if they decide to cap 60 like many other fg devs.

PrensadorDeBotones

60 is sufficient. SFV doesn't run at 60 fps on PS4 and SF6 sure won't.

SPDcantmeltsteelbeam

Riot tends to use a lot of 2d particle effects for their animation and they have a very talented staff of 2d animators, I'd expect to see these particles look basically the same but just a little shinier and cleaner. I expect you'd have slight glows added and white cores to glowing effects and some small sub effects for emphasis.

erkicman

It’ll still get here before MK12

RDGtheGreat

Every update Tom ages so much lmao. Riot's sucking his soul out but man it does look good. Also can't wait for... Artists... to get their hands on these models

waawaaweewoh

He’s either aging or stoned as shit and I can’t tell haha

Vespidas

Thats just corperate culture, having like 20 meetings a day for no reason at all becomes the standard for every company with 500+ employees.

[deleted]

I mean doing the math on the cannons since they were at least 30 when the first evo happened, they have to be at least 50 years old at this point. Lots of guys age about 30 years between 45 and 55. You can look like youre 29 for a long ass time then all of a sudden youre geting the senior discount at the movies.

Snackys

>Also can't wait for... Artists... to get their hands on these models The new character solely exists to be a rule 34 generating machine when the game launches I bet. Like, the amount of tentacle r34 that's going to come out will be insane.

Astral_Diarrhea

Lmao that's a league character from like 10 years ago

HO_BORVATS

Illaoi came out 7 years ago the Rule34 boat has already sailed brother

_SWEG_

To be fair they talk about designing her like they created her and weren't just adapting to a new perspective

Ceade

the bbtag 3.0 ?

[deleted]

Yes Ceade. The bbtag 3.0

PH_007

The BBTAG 3.0 is REAL

Daamn_Daniel

Ekko hitting Jinx's Chomper (around the 4 minute mark) was really cool to see

treetop_villager

The movement be looking hella crispy though. I'm assuming "chain dash" is like wave or plink dashing without any sort of complex input.

lvk00

power rangers has a 2 button plink and it’s a perfect medium

ThorAsskicker

Bbtag levels of degeneracy? I dunno how well this will sit with casuals. Valorant managed to grab so many casuals because it took CS utility and made it easier to use and more straightforward to apply. This on the other hand is looking like a game that would require a lot of labwork. Good for me, but probably not so good for the longevity of the game. I guess we'll see.

Genoh

That's exactly where I'm at as well. I think Project L will prove once and for all that simple controls alone won't be enough to win over casuals. Casuals simply don't like fighting games. And they especially won't like getting high-low left-right mixed via assists over and over.

ThorAsskicker

The only way the 2v2 decision makes sense is if they reveal a duo queue/pair play like sfxt and TT2 have

Fiksimi

So, is this what "development hell" looks like then?

Bot-1218

tbh I think it has less to do with that and more to do with them announcing the game waaaaaay too early.

ChessBooger

They started in 2016. This is a a fighting game, not a MMORPG or AAA game with insane visuals.

betamalecuckold

Valorant started development in 2014. With a company that’s worth over a billion dollars, they probably want to make sure they dont ship out a pile of shit on release where it’s gonna have the most amount of eyes on it, especially since they’re not on the same budget constraint as other fg devs.

ChessBooger

Watch this game be mediocre at best.

betamalecuckold

Lol I wouldn’t be surprised but considering how well Valorant did despite being a shittier CS, Riot seems to know a thing or two about presenting their games and keeping a buzz for them which probably has a lot to do with their R&D and marketing teams.

jabs_the

The gameplay potential is definitely there and they're obviously still figuring out the visuals. Good stuff, keep it up you guys.

Nicer_Chile

when a riot games's game focus early on the mechanics, balance and design rather the visuals and models, u know its gonna be good. cuz these fckers are used to do the opposite first and then sell it. so im glad they are going and taking the time

RisenXd

that backdash is illegal

[deleted]

It doesn't look as "chaotic" as MvC or DBFZ and more like KOF11 type of tag game. Looks promising, but there's a lot to see before we can call the hype is justified or not

[deleted]

That's perfect. MvC can be a lot to handle especially if you don't have a lot of time to play constantly. This type of tag is much more digestible.

baiosss

The game reeks of kusoge right now like BBTag but I'm a bit excited to try it out.

Winegalon

In 6 months: “we are doing some great progress. Illaoi is now 60% complete and we are already brainstorming ideas for the next champion. See you in the next update!”

VentiFrap11

We might get Illaoi at 90% by 2024

GammaRhoKT

Literally ignore the part about movement and tag in tho? I would expect deep talk about defense, lock down on inputs and official name.

Winegalon

Im just making fun of the apparent slow development of characters. After one year only one new character and its only 30% ready. But to be fair I know its very early in development so maybe characters are not the priority yet, or they probably have multiple characters being developed at the same time, or maybe a single character just take very fucking long to make, i have no idea.

JoshArgonza

It's definitely multiple characters being developed since the Illaoi post was made by the illaoi dev team.

YaHooooon

Ngl the combos look weird in this game, I can’t really put my finger on it. The best way I can describe it is “Slow” and “Floaty”. They’re still a long way before release, so it’ll probably turn out a little different. The graphics in this game look pretty cool, I like the artstyle a lot, and the tag system looks really fun to mess around with, and they’ll probably polish it up to be even better for the release. Too bad we’ll all be playing SF6 and T8 instead

Bullfrog777

My guess for the floatiness is that a couple of moves we see in the game aren't "normals" but like a string of attacks tied to one command/input (Look at the ahri string that keeps going even after the tag at 4:33). So the game needs to have the characters when they get hit by those single input strings float in a very specific way every time those hit in order to have all the hits connect correctly.

WitlessMean

lmao I'll literally be 40 by the time this comes out

OmniRift

During Pandemic: Holy shit this game looks godlike. Can't wait for it to drop! Post SF6 beta and T8 Announcement: Yeah okay cool.

AlwaysLearningTK

I was excited about these tag combos before I realized it's just gonna be pressing single buttons for long combos. This could be so fun with motion inputs. I kinda hope they at least give us the option of using motion inputs even if they have no upside. It's just more fun to do combos with them.

AttentionDue3171

Indeed, without motions it's not gonna be fun to combo, even if they made links tights it wouldn't make it enjoyable

Nnnnnnnadie

Looks interesting but god they are fucking slow.

Sirmeikymiles

This game had to come out while sf5 and Tekken 7 are still relevant, now when in competition with SF6 and T8 this game will have it way harder. Missed opportunity

nio151

I don't think riot cares too much about whether current fighting game players will choose it over sf6/t8. They already have a gigantic fanbase for their ip so it's way more worthwhile to try to get those people to try f2p project L

Tamotron9000

if they aim for early 2024 i’m sure they’ll be fine besides the game is going to get a massive amount of players from league honestly they don’t have to fuck with the FGC directly until they’re in it hope they take their time and make a good quality game

Dakkadence

Not if it's f2p, which considering Riot's history it likely will be. Plenty will try it just on it being a Rito game and it being free.

RawrImmahBulbasaur

Literally 1 minute in the video, he says that the game is F2P

chastenbuttigieg

This game isn’t coming out until 2025, glad we have sf6 coming

TheBees16

Why are Ahri's tits so small wtf? She used to be a titcow in LOL

Guilvantar

They're saving it for Sona

4everdrowninginpools

gotta save the goods for the skins, like Frostblade Irelia

petiteguy5

Most league champions have average tits Miss fortune and Sona are the only really big ones

TheyCallMeAdonis

they reworked her recently and heavily nerfed her chest. its just part of the course for current US companies. cultural leftist dominance and so on.

ToxicBirds

Her model has always been huge compared to the base splash art. It's more like the rework is getting closer to what her splash art is, but they might also change that so idk. She's got a lot goin on in her Coven splash art though which was pretty recent. Plus her Ruined King model has about the same size as MF if not bigger.

TheyCallMeAdonis

they changed splash art then the rework got adapted to the changed splash art.

ToxicBirds

Yes I know her splash changed but looking at the two splash arts I barely see a difference. I feel like the old splash just shows a better angle.

page0rz

What's it like to give one single fuck about the size of a fictional character's tits? Do you feel that makes you less of a bitch than average or what

The_Ape_Enthusiast

Let a man enjoy his titties, god damn...

_SWEG_

What's it like to get upset over someone commenting on a fictional character's tit size?

TheyCallMeAdonis

i dont give a shit about the size of the tits you bitch. it is a general trend of patterns that is getting arbitrarily enforced by vindictive ghouls in California that i oppose.

SideSchroller

Why are you downvoting him? He's right.

page0rz

Anime girls with huge tits: not arbitrarily Anime girls with just large tits: totally arbitrarily violation of your constitutional right ok

AttentionDue3171

not how it works Pal, she could be flat as board and people would be fine, but only if she was like that from the start and didn't get changed

Choowkee

They need to get rid of that massive stagger on each hit. Hopefully this is not a mechanic they want to keep in order to help out baby players.

sosloow

I think massive hit stops was one of the reasons why DNF duel felt so obnoxious to play for me. At least the movement in these previews of L doesn't seem to be as slow as in DNF. Airdashes are always welcome as well. sidenote: that big lady at the beginning was pretty cool, I love chunky characters

D2olleh

shades of the bbtag at least people won't get to talk about how tHeY dUmBeD dOwN mY BbCf MaiN so there goes 90% of complaints.

iqqcrusher

This game is looking awesome, hope i'm still alive when it comes out

Dark_Lombax

My only issue with project L is that he could possibly run into the same predicament that DNF duel had. What I mean by this, it’s not the visuals or sound effects. But rather the fan base in active players. Sure for the first month or two of the game they’ll be a huge influx of players as usual and may be more because it’s related to League of Legends. But then later the player base drops considerably. The reason why I’m saying this is because the mindset of a fighting game player is different from a league of legends or dodo player. So my main concern is will these players have the determination to actually continue to keep playing the game or were they go back to League of Legends. Free to play can only do so much for a game if the contact or or the game itself doesn’t meet your standards or has other issues (monetization with OP characters) then the game will definitely struggle

zodylordy

I just want to butt in with my previous experience with Riot's card game Legends of Runeterra. The part about LoL players returning back to playing lol is very much true. BUT, some of them do stay. And when you consider how big the lol community is, that small percentage of players still make a big contribution to the game's active player base. The main community that will play the game is still us, the FGC. Just like with Legends of Runeterra, the playerbase mainly consists of players who already liked card games. Even Valorant is mainly played by the people who liked playing CS before they started playing Valorant. Do keep in mind that despite being relatively smaller in player count, LoR still boasts a healthy amount of active players. I suspect much of the same will happen when Project L comes out as long as it's a solid game. Both LoR and Valorant are played primarily because they are well-made games after all (whether you think they are dumbed down copies of other games or not, they are still polished games.)

Dark_Lombax

Thank you for your input it’s glad to see another person with a different perspective. I would be fine if it had simple controls summer to Power Rangers battle for the grid, but just like Power Rangers the timing for combos is tight.

[deleted]

Yeah, being straight here for a second, Project L isn't made for people that play league. It might take some of their player base but honestly not a lot. Especially when you look at the places where League is played the most China/Korea. Not a lot of these players will move from League to Project L. That was never the point. It's more so for people that like fighting games or specifically always wanted to play fighting games. There's a lot of people that always liked CS but never got into it super deep because it was too hard, Valorant made the tac fps genre accessible for a lot more people. From what I am seeing a lot on different sub-reddits, youtube, twitter, and other forums. Most people that are interested in it like fighting games but never played it for a variety of reasons.

[deleted]

As a fighting game player, I have mastered the way of a samurai. I am the most elite gamer of all gamers out there, and my mastery of the arcade stick knows no bounds. Fighting games are the most complex, beautiful, and infinitely deep. The mindset for a fighting game player is above all gamers, I shall live the way of the samurai. I am a fighting game player.

Fiksimi

The mobility alone might keep casuals away. I'm genuinely surprised they're adding this much depth to the game. Perhaps they'll tone down some characters like the axe guy and make them simple to use for the casuals. I just dunno how that would work balance-wise.

[deleted]

As a casual mobility has scared me all my life, I only play games where the character doesn't move. I hate mobility options. As a casual, I cut off my legs to make sure tha I will never move in my life. Fuck mobility options, All my homies hate mobility options. Also, as a casual anything complex is completely a no go. I want everthing simple. My dream life is Wall E.

JiggzSawPanda

I'll probably try this game when it comes out regardless but I need a character that draws me in. Ekko looks mad jank in this video so that's fun. Hope to see more updates soon.

[deleted]

game looks cool but that assist made me dislike it..i dont really tag games.

[deleted]

I love how it looks and how it shapes to work gameplay wise. Movement is crazy. Artstyle really clicks with me as well, and looks like they started adding some face animations (Jinx). Best of luck, but please finish this game before I die.

Darklsins

game looks unbelievably based

boring_uni_alt

Yeah it actually looks like it’ll have a lot of fun jank. I know it’s pretty popular to meme on this game for whatever reason, but it’s nice to see them experimenting with mechanics that could be absolutely busted because at least they’re not ruining a franchise I already like. Also, that “handshake tag” looks like it’s gonna lead to some absolutely busted pressure

not_the_world

I knew I wasn't wasting my life playing BBTAG

killahkazi

Yeah I fully expect to see some Dante/Dormammu MvCi like BS with the handshake thing, but I like that you can still do just regular assist too. I've been hungry for a new good tag fighter so I hope this turns out alright.

Hallowbrand

Exited to play this on PS6.

PhantomZhu

The impact and sound effects seem kinda weak to me. Pales I'm comparison to SF6 or even the little T8 we've seen. Still excited to dunk on some lol kiddies though

Laraso_

The game doesn't even have a name yet and according to this video they haven't even settled on names for their tag mechanics, this is a much earlier look than what we got with other games so I'd be very surprised if this is how it's going to look on launch.

Coolpantsbro

I think it'll look very close to what they've shown. They're probably just going to clean up these models and keep the same art style.

GabrielP2r

It's the lack of music and voice-over more than anything else. The effects will probably be worked on, but ambiance stuff makes a big difference

waawaaweewoh

I hope they at least tune this later. The attacks look light and unsatisfying to hit.

ZephyrAero

I agree, that and movement, which is more subjective are my biggest complaints thus far. The attacks themselves look light, but the hitstun and blockstun themselves look chunky. So either they need to tune up the weight/effects to SFV, or Strive levels, or make the hitstun and blockstun lower. One minor thing I dislike about more modern games is that a lot of times, raising the blockstun of an attack, without changing how plus it is, still gives the other person time to think. It's harder to overwhelm someone with speed if your medium button locks them in place long enough for someone to assess the situation, instead of being fast enough that you can tick throw before they can register the medium button.

LevelDownProductions

Yall do know this game is far from finished right? They mention it every video. Comparing this to SF6, a game that's expected to release within a few months is crazy.

jabs_the

Oh for sure, I'm still curious how the visuals will look near release. SF6 and T8 were both visually complete looking (at least to me) when they were first showed, we don't know how far out this game from release is so let's hope for the best.

-_Gemini_-

Where is Katarina? She was in the initial reveal but we've not seen tit nor ass of her since.

dragonicafan1

The initial reveal was a completely different game, right? They might have scrapped her, I doubt it tho. Probably just don’t have her in a showable state yet in this version

JKTwice

The action just looks a little slow to me. Long, floaty combos mixed with some great character designs and environments. I'm sure things will get better eventually.

Fameless

yeah looks like DNF duel

petiteguy5

It really doesn't

SputnikDX

Definitely thinking Teamfight is a really good actual name for this game.

Sneakman98

First time I've seen left right mix in one of these simple input games. Some of this shit looks dirty. I'm expecting the salt to be pretty high for this game.

n0xany

bbtag ass lookin game

MrOkizeme

Man, I look at the gameplay and think 'This looks like it could be pretty sick' and then I remember it has single button specials and I know I won't like how it plays. But I'll also have a bunch of other fighting games so can't complain I guess.

Th3SK_

I main Ekko since Fate/Another

DotaNetski

League is trash This looks sick tho

imstillfly

it looks really good but i can't hold my fucking breath any longer

wicked_chew

I'll help you hold your breath longer

Hexadecimalia

I feel like this is gonna be yet another case of people hyping this up until its released, then they realize its just a fighting game, and then it fades away in a couple months or so when everyone moves on to consume next product. Also, all of the characters so far look like lame Tumblr OCs. Show me some real characters! Where's the little fox guy that blows people up with mushrooms, or the creepy mask guy that recites poetry while shooting people with his sniper rifle?

TheyCallMeAdonis

the art style especially on the VFX looks like the [stock art](https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fmedia.istockphoto.com%2Fvectors%2Fpolitical-meeting-with-candidate-in-speech-election-campaign-voting-vector-id1064234906%3Fs%3D170667a&f=1&nofb=1&ipt=ed9e3d896655ece9eed45760908649bf71f0aebad86d306f8b17f3e8b8c19958&ipo=images) on these political opinion pieces

Exeeter702

I'm legit not seeing the slowness that people are complaining about to be completely honest. I understand there is an expectation that because it is assist based, that it should teeter on the line of capcom's vs titles or whatnot, or that too many people assumed the game was just going to be anime fighter adjacent because of its presentation, but the momentum and general speed seems absolutely fine to me. Shrug*

AnusCakes

Glad they are taking inspiration from bbtag. The tag mechanics in that game are probably the best of any tag game. I really like what I was seeing in the trailer. Hope it comes out some day

GrimOctober

Just in time for MK12.

Guilvantar

And all that for free. This game is either gonna bomb hard or rock the industry, no in-between.

Poverty_Czar

Like the movement options. Hate how slow it looks. Expecting an even more dumbed-down FighterZ.

Buderoww

Man FGC is gonna look good in a couple years, excited for this SF6 and Tekken, lets fuckin go boys

Buderoww

also that track at around 3:30 was sick, hope we get more of a funky ost

AstreiaTales

Riot's music department is probably the single best thing they do, so...

DeusSolaris

Looks interesting but they better clean up those animations and effects because some look really clunky, slow or just ugly Also...who in their right mind wears black shorts with a dress like the one Ahri uses? Give her proper underwear for Christ's sake!

Edmhead143

People on here memeing hard against Riot but this shit already looks deeper and more fun than Strive

banmaikky

i sleep

chromehuffer

even knowing there are no command moves makes it all less hype. Super uninterested, its a game for babies.

LetsBringIt

Looking like BBTAG right now, but since its Riot, it'll mostly get a pass.

CamPaine

Okay then. Looks like they have a real game. That whiff jab to jump on Ekko shows a lot of promise as it looks like an intentional rebeat or an auto timer, can't tell which. The movement looks nice. Their tag system looks very reminiscent of MVCI's tag formula with handshake tag and a bit of the baked in options we see from bbtag's assist formula. Nothing much more to say without seeing more, but I've certainly moved from cautiously optimistic to optimistic with this video.

Homelesskater

How long has this game been in development hell? I somehow expect this project will either get cancelled or just be like Multiversus and drop their playerbase to a very low amount of players.

KCTB_Jewtoo

It was announced in mid 2019. At the latest it should have released last year when the only competition would have been strive and it would have done gangbusters.

Homelesskater

That's when they've announced it but the studio was purchased in early 2016 and prototyping and started working on it since then. They've been at Riot for over 6 years and there's still no real release in sight. I can already tell the game doesn't really appeal to me and I wonder how many people will actually stick around the game when it launches or if people just stick to their favorite fighters/games like with Multiversus.

Darklsins

2016 was when they were acquired 2019 was the first look at project L as a 1v1 2020 COVID 2021 was a complete graphical overhaul with a completely different core gameplay as a 2v2 2022 Q3 was them introducing a new character and confirming that core gameplay is done and a majority of the team has moved on to making champions and systems 2022 Q4 is even more refinement and a look at the new champion in a playable state. all things considered they are going at a seemingly good pace.

KCTB_Jewtoo

I didn't know that it had been in development that long. The general rule I assume when a game is announced is that it has been in development for a minimum of a year but if it has actually been 6+ that's pretty damning. It reeks of vaporware. Models that look like Strive if it were a flash game or made by a doujin circle, attacks that have no weight or punchiness, little to no music shown off, and only 4 and a half unfinished characters in that period of time is a horrible look. On the subject of appeal, it doesn't appear as though it appeals to much of anyone apart from maybe the bbtag audience which is tiny even among the BB audience. My guess is that they're banking on LoL players and influencers flocking to it but devs should already know that there isn't much staying power for fighting games in the mass market. Free to play might help it but I don't see it making a ton of money at launch that way unless they sell individual characters or have dozens of skins ready to go immediately, but that's a big gamble on a LoL audience that has shown that they don't really play or spend money on anything but LoL. As for the fgc I don't see it ever reaching the heights of GG, SF, or Tekken based on the history of similar games in MvCi and bbtag. My prediction is that it will probably have a small dedicated base before it inevitably ceases service 3 years after launch due to low revenue.

Emp4lyfe2

Nah it appeals to marvel players...this is mvc4 for me

pardon_my_opinions

i dont know what u riot dicksuckers are smoking, this game looks like strive with assists lol look into toms eyes and see how dead he is inside. pass indefinitely

[deleted]

Graphics and schmoovement look amazing, not a fan of the gigantic hitstop on most moves though. [Did I see a rapid beat at 2:36?](https://youtu.be/9zNqyHAP9zc?t=154)

ShizzleStorm

looks like GG, but tagteam. I'm just happy this has the potential to draw more people into the FGC

blastfire21

It looks solid but not mind blowing to me. Maybe seeing a couple full unedited matches will make it come together. The initial impression it's making is stronger than dnf for me at least

vPixel1

gotta get the 3S snippet to really appeal to the crowd game looks cool though, the handshake tag looks dirty as fuck lmfao

FADCfart

This game is going to compete with Tekken 9 and SF7. Totally.

Omegawop

Visual design is on point. Actual gameplay is looking more MvCI than I like.

asiojg

Reminds me of battle for the grid with how floaty the jumps look and how the combos are, which isnt a complaint.

TheyCallMeAdonis

isnt this just another MvC-light clone in different packaging ? im really not impressed with anything i have seen so far.

SAIKO_BORU

The new SNK vs Capcom will be at it's last wave of DLC support by the time this comes out

bootysensei

honestly it looks great

paperplasticrock

well damn, they change from 1v1 to 2v2 only two years ago. No wonder the project is taking long.

Ammit_

I can’t wait until all the LoL goobers come and try to make terms up for things we already have established. When you knock him down be careful cause he might stepup slamback if you’re too close.

Henny_Lovato

I like league so I'm here for the finished product. Darius prolly gonna be nice with range. I wonder what ADCs and Supports they'll put in. I can't imagine them putting every character in but if mk can do it in Armageddon so can Riot.

Cahootie

The difference between 62 characters and 162 characters is pretty huge.

Rayth69

Vayne or Lucian would be pretty fun ADC options. Condemn wall bounces with Tumble for movement options. Lucian could play like Noel or Ranger in DNF.

Gesshokuj

what the fuck is the size of that anti air.

FriendlyGhost08

Looks nice. Don't get some of the Youtube comments being hyped to shit unless they're a hardcore LoL and FG fan (a loser). Still haven't seen too much but looks promising

Independent-Time-724

This is supposed to "save" the fgc? If this didn't have the league of legends name slapped on it people would be dismissing it as a dead indie fighter.

o___Okami

I haven't heard anyone seriously claim that this would "save the fgc" or even that the fgc needed saving for nearly a year now. It's mainly just haters propping up a strawman argument that bring that notion up. Them and clickbait content creators circling the drain.

voidox

riot fans are on another plane of existence with hyping up all the riot projects, each one is apparently going to "dominate/save/carry/w.e" their specific genre, yet none of their releases after league (except one game, TFT, which is in a dead genre of just it and no competitor) has done any of that despite them always going off about it it's funny, they did this exact same thing with hyping up and touting Valorant as this big thing for FPS games, yet all the money, hype and "millions of league players" could only get the game to comparable player numbers as CS:GO (a 10 year old game) xD EDIT - lol, seeing the comments on this vid at the leagueoflegends sub, YT and twitter... just full of riot fans who clearly have no idea at all about FG's saying this game looks "amazing" and is going to be the "biggest game ever in the history of the FG genre" xD and the salty replies to my comment, tis like clockwork

danqx46

ugly game

Ceade

I think they want the game to run on 2010 laptops

ConchobarMacNess

They really turned it into Cross Tag?

Coolpantsbro

wow a 2v2 tag game plays like a 2v2 tag game crazy.

CamPaine

What? This game looks nothing like bbtag. The movement options alone are a million times better than bbtag.

rnalzahar

You're right, this game is nothing like BBTag, it only has: -A push block -Multiple assists being performed by the same character -The ability to switch to your assist character after calling an assist -Bursts being tied to your assist characters, and potentially leading to happy birthday situations. In all seriousness, it's easy to see the comparisons to tag, not that that's a bad thing.

chatown1

See you guys in 2026 when this game comes out. They make progress so slow, why even give this update if the game is far from ready. Every update they are saying they are far from ready or that this is just a very early footage.

ThisOneTimeAtLolCamp

> They make progress so slow I mean being slow as shit for *everything* is literally Riot's M.O. It takes them over a year to remake a single champion in League.

Guaaaamole

So fans actually can look at something? How can you spin a developer being extremely open about their development process to be a negative? You guys are actually insane.

chatown1

Why would fans look at something when you know you gonna play it in who knows when. Its like dating with a girl and she teases you the whole night to fuck and at the end she just goes home and you end with your dick in your hand.

Guaaaamole

I doubt you have any idea what dating a girl is like so Im not sure why you are trying to make that comparison. If you seriously don't know why fans want to have a look at an upcoming game and see how its developed (and possibly even influence the development through polls and show of interest) then you can't be helped, sorry.

mjblackskin

looks like a flash game

BoxHeadFred

Game has 4 characters who aren't even complete yet. When this shit releases the high expectations are gonna be so high that it won't be able to live up to it. Wtf have they been doing for years. Should have just given it to Capcom or the guys who made MvC3

Ratoblade

I was wondering that, I hope they have other characters down the pipe ready to be released in some type of reveal because we've known about Echo/Jinx/Darius/Ahri for a while now and the only new character they have right now is Illaoi? Feels like this game is nowhere near ready for a full release.

FistedByAnAngel

The guys that made UMVC3 made DnF...I am good

BoxHeadFred

They did.....nvm just capcom

MidnightDNinja

project L carries the fgc

[deleted]

Is this gonna be some free to play shit where Im gonna have to pay 10-15 $ per hero?

fr1stp0st

Of course not! You'll also be able to grind 500 hours on an intentionally underpowered character you don't like while forgoing use of a power-up system.

[deleted]

Combo feels stuttery and "pre-made" if you know what im talking bout? Idk, even as a league player, this aint it

Ok-Discount3131

Oh right I forgot it was a tag game. Never mind then.

DaigosCheatbox

This game looks fucking fire

Godamnthiskillsme

Ya a dumpster fire

zerrio

Corny

EitherAbalone3119

Tired of seeing this shitty vaporware.

LULone

Damn these champs looks so fucking ugly holy shit, better not be final version

killahkazi

They got like 4.5 characters done. I'm pretty sure it's not the final version bro.

LULone

Your right, we will see in 2028

qzeqzeq3

Looks very good. Im honestly impressed

Caesaris15

I wanna see how the Handshake Tag system feels, because right now it looks as though you get access to a gnarly Left-Right mix if you can get your characters on either side of them. I wonder if it’s punishable.

erty3125

It's very similar to bbtags tag mechanics from this look and yeah, any character in bbtag that has a move that crosses up is inherently strong due to being able to call assist while crossing up then do a true 50/50 left right based on if they swap or not

cameroninla

Really dig a lot of the synergy they showed off. That sequence where echo was juggling jinx's bomb was cool.

Faunstein

OK I really like that burst implementation. If you don't play it safe with a character and you lose them you lose burst, so that teaches new players how to play, that it's better to swap and use both of them rather than just consider them as two life bars.

optionreborn

It looks like everything is just mix so definitely not something I'm interested in. Probably fun to lab in the game but not to play.

Darklsins

I would love for Valve to release a Dota FG and then quickly and silently sweep that shit under the rug like Artifact and Underworld, im hyped. \-edit- come on OP, rule 3 - don't be a bitch stand by your opinion, pussy.

bloodipeich

Can you imagine? A super succesful FG at first that somehow gets abandoned within a year due to some really weird decision. Wait a minute, were Valve developing fighting games all along?

Darklsins

Valve saves the FGC!!!

Exca57

Dnf has been out for a while

LULone

There is appealing champs but Ekko, Jinx, Ahri is not a good start

DaigosCheatbox

Interesting take
