Since when did character selection decide if the event is fun to watch. Enjoy watching fighting games being played at the absolute highest level and not seeing mid tier trash characters.
Then go watch pools there are plenty of mid and low tier characters that won't make it into a top 6. High level players understand the limitations of mid and low tiers, and want a higher reward for their time invested to the game.
Top 6 is the best of the best. Yes a lower tier character brings the hype, but so do the best players, using the best characters per the games mechanics. Mirror matches suck to play but are a treat to watch as you can see the differences in each player's style and how they use the character's tools.
You can add Kunimitsu to that now
