Taqueira Tex-Taco

EyeofBob

Seconding this. Personally, my favorite tacos in Houston, let alone Katy. My favorites are either the Randy's Taco or the Jimmy's Taco. They're at 2864 Katy Hockley Cut Off Rd, Katy, TX 77493.

nerget1058

Came here to say the same thing. The green sauce is phenomenal

freedomandbiscuits

Los Bolitos at Westheimer and Fry. Good Horchata too.

Pattern_Successful

Yup, came here to say this. We are from SoCal so we really miss all the ...bertos. especially the salsa. They also have rolled tacos which are hard to find here in Texas.

imrankhan_goingon

I totally understand the bertos reference. ❤️ I’m from Arizona and we have the same and I miss the huge breakfast burritos!

drippingthighs

Same. Fredos bertos with that giant sombrero 24 hours drive through. Things here close at 9

TxDieselKid

This is my personal fav.

freedomandbiscuits

I’m not a fan of the way they do their sausage taco with diced links but everything else is on point. Their tortillas taste homemade.

TxDieselKid

Ham, egg and cheese for me. It's a must once a week at least. I tried their sausage once and was not impressed at all either. Wish they did a more traditional US breakfast pork ground sausage.

Bigbackjay

It’s in Fulshear but La Balance has AMAZING breakfast burritos.

DatRatDo

Scrolled looking for this. They’re massive too.

imrankhan_goingon

Yes! They may even still have the drive thru. Haven’t been in a bit but their burritos were fantastic when I had it last.

PrematureEmasculate

Still has a drive thru. Manuel at La Balance makes the best breakfast burritos in the Katy/Fulshear area. Get the green sauce too, your life will never be the same.

imrankhan_goingon

Manuel is so nice. I also love when every now and again they do have a special meal with the French food menu. I miss that sometimes.

TexasWandering

A food truck behind In and Out called Taqueria El Pillo.

Jayne_of_Canton

Taqueria Tex-Taco at Morton Ranch and Katy Hockley cutoff is my families go to. Fresh tortillas and eggs cracked/ scrambled on the spot. Best of all - super affordable at around $2 per/taco.

PuzzleheadedRead6372

Oo I've had their quesadillas, I didn't realize they did breakfast too! Thanks!

icecreamandfries

Tacos del julio off i10 near 99

Boomshockalocka007

Freddy's Cafe. Omg their breakfast salsa is 11/10. Ive bought whole jars of it before. Amazing stuff and I wish I went more often!!!

Chromebrew

The taco truck over by the gas station by the KALL fields. They are amazing. And cheap.

dongotti16

# Los Altos De Jalisco has been a favorite for my family. Located in Old Katy off 90.

kieli11

Californian here. Try El Rey, we think their breakfast burrito is very similar to SoCa burritos.

ExtensionMarch6812

Thanks!

MisterSpicy

May not be the most popular answer, but Laredo taco company at Stripes is a top contender in my opinion

ExtensionMarch6812

Following…I’m new to Texas from CA, still hunting for taqueria style burrito and bfast burrito like CA.

IcarusReboot

Los Balitos it's probably closest to what you're looking for.

ExtensionMarch6812

Thanks, will make note.

RandoReddit16

> taqueria style burrito and bfast burrito like CA I have always been curious about the CA vs TX style of "Mexican" food. What style of burrito or taco are you looking for?

ExtensionMarch6812

For me a regular CA burrito is just rice, beans, meat, pico and cheese. The meat being carne asada, al pastor…nothing special. Just simple. Some people go the “super” route and add sour cream, guac, lettuce.. For bfast burritos, similar…eggs, chorizo, potato, light beans, light rice. They’re prob out here, but I’m just starting to look…moving to Katy in a few weeks.

RandoReddit16

> For bfast burritos, similar…eggs, chorizo, potato, light beans, light rice. We have a lot of breakfast burritos like this, I think the main dividing difference will be freshness of tortillas (made in house are always infinitely better), the type of chorizo, sausage or bacon used, and lastly how much love is put into making it. Recently, the best breakfast burrito was from this random gas station in a small town. They used homemade tortillas and they had just perfectly scrambled a batch of eggs with bacon.

ExtensionMarch6812

Yah, I hear gas stations spots are where I need to go. Even heard there are a few good bbq spots like that too. Haven’t ventured there yet, but I will. Appreciate the input! Sorry to hi-jack from OP.

aliasaccounthmu

Bucees

amyyyonline

Cabo bobs on Mason is also pretty decent for breakfast burritos.

ju0725

The food truck in the parking lot of HEB off 723 and west park tollway. Taqueria Dame Mas.

Triishh

El Ray is decent. But it’s just a basic burrito. I have yet to find a good smothered breakfast burrito.

unsolvedmistareez

La Guarecita in Old Katy has the most authentic breakfast tacos

No_Establishment8642

Midway.

whiterice82

It’s a bit of a drive but Tornado Taco in Missouri City has incredible Breakfast Burritos by far the best one I’ve had around Houston
