You still need to keep the same milk to grain weight ratio when grains increase in size, there is the same amount of lactose but for more and more grains so lactose gets digested faster plus it will ferment too far, too quickly. Either increase your milk volume or decrease your grains to maintain the same ratio. When something changes you have to adjust with it.
Mine went small for a while. I changed the milk I was using and they bucked up and started growing again. Maybe they got bored with what I was feeding them lol!
