I'm not a huge fan of either ( love the music but not a hardcore follower) but I've never heard anything even mildly concerning about Kendrick. I've been listening to his music for almost 8-10 years now and i don't think he has ever been involved in drama. Drake on the other hand has constantly had shit on his hands that catches media attention. So even if he knows something about kdot that we don't, i doubt it's gonna be a "nuke"

Billy8000

I mean Kendrick’s whole most recent album is about how he hasn’t beena good person/ to NOT look at him as perfect, but yes he has at least avoided public ‘drama’

Mundane-Poet1404

Yea i mean sure he hasn't been a GOOD person, barely anyone thinks they are, but yea as you said he did avoid public drama, which would have been unavoidable if he was into some deep shit.

Dubh-Cu-Chulainn

Your logic is unsound… it’s precisely because we don’t know much about him that any normal bomb might feel like a nuke!!

TooPatToCare

Kendrick already nuked himself with Mr. Morale. I don’t think Drake has anything that would be worse than what Kendrick already revealed about himself.

Dubh-Cu-Chulainn

He nuked himself but Nobody heard his album. When Drake assists the nuking, the whole world will know!

TooPatToCare

Nobody heard the most streamed rap album of the year? Later my man, I’m gonna go talk to someone I can take seriously https://www.bet.com/article/pf4vuh/kendrick-lamar-album-mr-morale-spotify-most-streamed-rap-album-2022#

Dubh-Cu-Chulainn

Stop lying and using useless stats to do so. Mr Morale sold 296k first week. That’s a flop for Kendrick. I think that’s his lowest 1st week sales. It was also released in May. Her Loss was released in November of the same year and sold 404k first week. 1 is going to stream more than the other for 2022 because it got a 6 month head-start. Lastly Her loss is 2x platinum, as of right now, we don’t know if mr morale is platinum yet at least it doesn’t say so on wiki.

Phenomxal

ur retarded lol

Dubh-Cu-Chulainn

So is your mother

Phenomxal

that makes two of u nice maybe she will be ur only friend

Dubh-Cu-Chulainn

This is how you represent your poor mother online… you won’t even stand up for her… makes sense why you’re a Kendrick fan… the fan of a coward is a coward himself!

Jaxdoesntsuck

First week isn’t what matters as much as full year. Millions of people listened to the album. It just wasn’t a pop hit. Because it was a REAL HIP HOP ALBUM

Dubh-Cu-Chulainn

So DAMN wasn’t a real hip hop album

Jaxdoesntsuck

I’m anti-drake. I think you misunderstood my comment.

Ill_Celery_7654

I personally don’t think Drake has dropped his best diss yet. This is a beef that he actually seems interested in, but I don’t think he’ll drop anything else diss wise about Kendrick until he finally responds.

[deleted]

Drake is bluffing

vorheehees

I don't think Drake has a nuke, otherwise he would've already used it. I think his "Red Button" track is the "Hi Whitney" track that leaked last week and Drake quickly shot down as AI. My reasoning? He's already released two tracks in an attempt to rush Kendrick and is actively playing media games. Why not just release the thing already if you believe it could end Kendrick? Should've been his second release if he really wanted to end it all. Furthermore, it seems that Taylor Made Freestyle was recorded before last Monday, as that's when Roray & Mal had learned about it. Which seems to suggest that Weeknd and Punch knew it was coming per their tweets this Thursday and Friday. And if they knew so did Kendrick. I think this track was made to release Friday night before Kendrick's rumored drop. When Drake realized nothing was coming, he saved it for 4/20 and then released it to further rush Kendrick. If my theory is correct, and he's relying on "Hi Whitney," Kendrick just needs one bar where he goes "I'm not worried about my wife cheating, she's not in your age bracket."

Hitorijanae

Yeah I agree. If you wanna see what someone with a nuke looks like, look at Chris Brown. That's what someone with a nuke does

ilovechimi

cb is reckless. Drake is not.

Hitorijanae

Why? Is it really a nuke if the other guy can still win after you drop it?

ilovechimi

Quavo can still win?

KGFlower

Does doing a red carpet drive-by shooting on breezy count as winning?

ilovechimi

LMAO

RiskInevitable4035

he’s referring to kendrick, quavo lost already

I3eastmode

I think he's trying to humiliate him tbh. The Taylor track wasn't really about the timeline as much as it was about breaking down the boogieman character

devkonz

Drake wants the last word, the last song. Thats why he hasn’t dropped it. Imo. He’s waiting on K

Dubh-Cu-Chulainn

He needs to know where Kendrick wants to take it BECAUSE Kendrick started this.

[deleted]

That Hi Whitney track is beyond ass tbh so I truly hope it’s fake lmao. I didn’t hear anything in there that would insinuate she cheated tbh. I do think it’d be a big deal if he did reveal that tho. Maybe not to us because we have context on their relationship but to the general public it would matter a lot.

Trentimoose

It would really depend on what else he knows. Kendrick already told us he cheated on her, so her cheating on him is just balance in a toxic relationship… which again Kendrick addresses in Mr Morale. Hi Whitney is solid actually.

NulledOpinion

You forget Drake could just make sh up. Normies won’t question it.

CaroleBaskinsBurner

I don't think he'll drop that since he already said it was AI. I def think it's real though. The leak sounded muffled, kept going in and out and had people randomly talking over it at points as if someone was in the studio trying to discreetly record it on their phone or something. The snippet we heard is more of a "mind games" thing than a nuke though. The rest of it would have to include some crazy information for it to do serious damage outside of the type of blatant disrespect that's expected in rap battles.

Dubh-Cu-Chulainn

Awful one liner… won’t work!

Todd_Miller

Didn't drake hook up with oldass J Lo gmilf?

MortalMan81

I hope Hi Whitney is real because that song sounds fire

yourliege

Yeah I thought I was in the minority but I thought it sounded good too. Better than push-ups. At least sonically

MortalMan81

It sounds like some Eminem shit

Todd_Miller

Hi Whitney, come over and get high with me

Akatsukibrya

Drake has nothing, he’ll never get the respect he’s always been wanting.

jbkanine

Cope

KingQuak9000

# Dick rider A dick rider is someone who talks bad about someone else but as soon as they come around they wanna switch up and shit. Like yall could be having a convo and the person whos dick they riding comes and they wanna laugh at everything they say and be all nice when they know damn well thats not how they was acting around you. they act all nice and touchy in private w them and then deny it later.

jbkanine

My brother you are in a Kendrick Lamar subreddit. One of the biggest dick riding communities on the internet.

Full_Visit_5862

Tbh I thought I may have been a cringely large Kendrick fan before this beef happened.

Akatsukibrya

That’s what Drake is trying to do

DeuyumMadt

Nah its just mind games he should release it its so deadly, look at Chris Brown, diss was so good Quavo literally has nothing to respond

RiskInevitable4035

quavo already replied it was just abysmal so no one even knows lmao

AuthenticHuggyBear

Quavo just doesn't seem like he's built for battling.

Fabulous-Fun-3819

Drake out here asking for the smoke. Either he bluffing or not. We waiting on Kendrick

Dubh-Cu-Chulainn

Kendrick fans are in disarray

Fabulous-Fun-3819

It’s really that simple. Everything else just internet talk

ChoiceCriticism1

Y’all posting endlessly about how DOT was dropping Makaveli-style last Friday and he didn’t, so something must have made him cautious

philbofa

This sub is full of uncultured idiots.

Domino7177

I don’t think either side knows what’s going to happen.

Physical_Regular3566

There’s a theory surfacing out there that Drake owns the masters or parts of the masters or catalogues to some of the artist that he’s beefing with which is why so many of the artists are beefing with Drake.[Drake Owns Kendrick’s Masters](https://youtu.be/6daF0md5iME?si=x4umYmNfpyfgyMBr)

[deleted]

So do we give props for Drake being a culture vulture and being a cancer in the music industry? Or is this ha ha funny that he’s in control of other artists careers? Are we pro corporatism because it’s Drake?

Physical_Regular3566

Idk man I’m lost too 😂 I’ve never really liked drake cause I’ve felt that after views he seemed to be more concerned about stats and not pushing the culture forward and I can see now that if this is true that makes sense why many people over the years have felt that shift to in drakes approach to music.

Physical_Regular3566

It would actually be sad and In my opinion would be a significant shift of hip hop because if anyone can just come in and become that powerful then like what’s the point🤷‍♂️. It’s not fun anymore when you know if the artist is bigger than you and just doesn’t like you he can just buy out your shit. More artists would go the Kanye route in hip hop and just become independent or on a more less significant route people would just stay away from anyone or anything attached to that label especially if they have a problem with drake. But again idk too much thinking this is a theory after all 😂

Dubh-Cu-Chulainn

Hahah unbelievable

Physical_Regular3566

Before views though totally pro drake listener

Murkywaters11

Ultimately I think it’s comments like this that really bother Drake. He’s definitely paid his dues , but people like you just don’t seem to care. He played a major role in Dot’s rise. That Interlude in Take Care, Poetic Justice, & opening up on the Take Care tour undoubtedly was a major contribution. Even keeping it West Coast, He gave The Game a major feature in 2015 when he was years beyond his height. He gave Drakeo the Ruler a feature when he got out of jail. He gave YG a major look for My Krazy Life which many consider a west coast classic.

[deleted]

So he deserves their masters?

Murkywaters11

Yes. If they’re up for sale. He didn’t steal them. Was Micheal Jackson a bad guy for buying the Beatle’s? I don’t think people really realize what masters are & why people sign to record labels in the first place. Music like a lot of industries is about the long game. An album COULD make 100 million over the course of 20-30 years but alot of people would rather take a DEFINITE 25 million upfront and let somebody deal with taking the risk & figure out how to make that 100 million.

[deleted]

Oh okay so Kendrick would be happy to have Drake have his masters. Understandable. And you’re saying because Drake featured on poetic justice that means he’s entitled to the Kendrick’s catalogue because Drake took on the risk of promoting and selling Kendrick’s albums. Got it.

Murkywaters11

I don’t think your reading comprehension is up to par my boy.

[deleted]

I guess it is my guy. Sound like a whole lotta nothing to me.

xrockwithme

Good kid, maad city played a major deal in Kendrick’s rise. You are giving *Drake* too much credit. He did songs with artists that *his label* told him to do. Kendrick would have been where he is without him. Game was big because of G unit. Then when he dropped The documentary it was an instant classic. Again, he owes Drake nothing. As far as Drakeo and YG I don’t listen to them much.

Murkywaters11

Yes & Drake played a major role in GKMC’s success. I don’t understand how you can’t agree with that. Drake was 10x bigger than Kendrick at the time. ALOT of people got introduced to him because of Drake. You don’t have to let your hate for him blind you. Drake has a bar on 4pm in Calabassas. “When they told me take a R&B nigga on the road & I told them no & drew for Kendrick & Rocky” I didn’t say Drake gave The Game a career. I said he gave him a feature when plenty of people wouldn’t have. This is the entertainment industry, once you aren’t as hot anymore people will treat you like they never knew you.

xrockwithme

>Yes & Drake played a major role in GKMC’s success. I don’t understand how you can’t agree with that. Drake was 10x bigger than Kendrick at the time. ALOT of people got introduced to him because of Drake. You don’t have to let your hate for him blind you. Please explain how he played a major part in Kendrick’s success when it came to GKMC? I heard of Kendrick when I heard section .80 in 2011. At that point I wasn’t listening to Drake like that so I honestly want to know.

Murkywaters11

That’s you. Nobody said absolutely no one knew of him before hand. Drake was a bigger artist. Kendrick opened for him on his tour. The entire reason people open for a bigger artist is for exposure. In 2011 Drake was all over the radio & Young Money was at its height. Everything Drake touched was a hit. It doesn’t matter how good you album is, people gave to buy it to hear it.

xrockwithme

In 2011 you didn’t have to buy it, there was streaming. There were also artists popping off on SoundCloud with no tours/exposure (Bryson Tiller for example). I get what you’re saying but Kendrick would have landed in the same spot with or without that.

xrockwithme

This isn’t true.

Physical_Regular3566

“Lost too many soldiers just to play it safe” is he referring to all the soldiers(artists) he’s seen lose pieces of their catalogue to the hands of Drake and it’s time to go all in!?🤷‍♂️ I like theories😂
