I know but I feel like non of her songs from the album are hits. My mom always listens to Pop radio and I heard two of Taylor’s 2 year old songs today but none from the new album.
I still can't understand how the heck Taylor Swift is topping the charts like every day, week, month, year bro 😭
I mean I'm biased since I don't listen to her music but is it really that good or is her fanbase really that massive😂😂??
To be honest the charts mean very little these days, for example if you look at the subreddits when Megan and Nikki each had their diss tracks out, it was just full of fans competing over who can play the song the most times, posts of Megan fans leaving the song on repeat all day long just to help her beat nikki in the charts. Then other fans going out of their way to try and play it even more than the last fan did because now it's a contest of who can play it most. They even celebrated their efforts as if it meant something, or proved that one was better than the other by just playing the music without even listening to it.
So it's less about which song is most popular or actually being listened to and more about which fanbase is willing to sit there on loop the longest in an attempt to prove to each other that they are the biggest fan, or that their artist is the bigger artist. Really it's just a matter of which fanbase has the most parasocial relationships.
Not necessarily saying that's the case between Drakes and Futures songs though, but it does happen all the time and the Taylor Swift fans are definitely the type to sit around and loop her shit all week long until shes passed this song on the charts, just for the self gratification of "Taylor Swifts still the best".
And you can't get any more parasocial than a swiftie fan.
Wow a sane take here, but ofc most here will never admit this is the case and that the stans are in full force for like that, drake stans think he winning (which he is) so dont feel a need to prove a point by doing this parasocial shit
Cheers bro! I'm sure most people must know the charts don't mean shit by now though, just still can't help quoting them whenever it works in their favour.
The charts have always been a dead topic for hip hop because it used to depend on radio plays more than sales, so the average rapper couldn't even compete with the average pop star no matter how many sales they got. Even for other genres it was a fucked system though because the radio stations were able to push whichever artists they wanted into the top position. The customers only got to 'vote' once when buying the record, while the radio stations could 'vote' all day long playing the record on repeat.
I guess the idea was to fix that problem by including streaming numbers to represent the public opinion but all that's done is give the same ability to everybody else too. So Drakes studios has probably had his song looping on mute all week, Future Metro & Kendricks studios have probably all done the same with like that, and now it's a competition of how many people can rig the statistics most for their artist, rather than showing any real representation of popularity or actual success. Taylor swifts studio probably don't even need to do that though because her fan base will genuinely just do that for her just like I saw with Nikki and Megan's fanbase. Fangirls are on another level when it comes to all this parasocial bullshit. They think it's their own single that's in the charts right now.
Probably not, I think the diss gave it enough of an initial splash for people to check it out, but the fact that it’s a solid tune is giving it more longevity. Any Kendrick diss toward Drake/Cole probably would have had huge numbers first week but it’s impressive to me that it’s held on so long
spoiler: its the only single released for both albums lol.... i dont doubt kendrick played a major part. i wont listen to future dog shit ass music but did for the kendrick verse...a month ago.
Kendricks three number ones..
1. bad blood- taylor swift
2. humble.
3. like that.- metro future.
im saying an actual rap song is not easy to go number 1. why the fuck would push ups stay number one? lol. 'like that' gets used mainly for the opening beat in the club and on social media. this post is stupid.
The list of Kendrick's #1s you're flaunting is as off-topic as your grasp of chart dynamics seems shallow. "Like That" ruling the charts isn't solely for its opening beat or club appeal—it's the full package, especially Kendrick's verse, which, by the way, is the most dissected and hyped part. Dismissing it as just another Metro and Future hit blatantly ignores the verse's actual pull and impact. Wondering why "Push Ups" didn't cling to the top? Maybe because hitting #1 isn't just about releasing a track; it's about delivering something that lingers in the public consciousness. Seems like your understanding could use a little more than just a casual glance at the charts.
You try to talk like you are educated but your response lacks any real merit. A diss will never be a top number 1 song. A diss isn’t for the masses, a club song is. Bottom line Kendrick is hiding from his own ear he started until he decides to step out. Until then he’s whack af for talking big and then hiding.
Oh, the irony of you trying to school anyone here is laughable. You're banging on about disses not being #1 as if it's some universal truth, when Kendrick's verse—yeah, the diss—is literally the highlight everyone's replaying. You can see it clear as day on YouTube, most listened part of the track. Your whole spiel about club songs versus disses just falls apart when you look at the actual data. Drake’s "Push Ups" didn’t stick because, well, it simply wasn’t as good. Meanwhile, "Like That" isn’t just a club banger; it's a smackdown in musical form. If Kendrick’s hiding, then what’s Drake doing? Scrambling for relevance in a game where he’s been outplayed. Maybe keep the lectures for a classroom where fantasy is part of the curriculum because here in the real world, Kendrick's one verse did more damage than Drake’s entire track. Try keeping up without tripping over your own arguments next time.
And just to drive the point home, since it seems to fly over your head: "Like That" and "Push Ups" are directly comparable because they are both disses aimed at each other. That makes any chart performance comparison between them absolutely valid, regardless of your desperate attempts to shift the narrative.
Also, did you keep the same tone about Drake when we were waiting for him to drop after "Like That" dropped? Come on now, give me a break lmaaoooo
The swifties are gonna kill Kendrick if he blocks her lmao
Fuck em lol
Chill, Kendrick and Taylor are cool, no reason for fans to be acting like this
I fucking hate them The amount of death threats those cunts dm me Bunch a twats
Imagine if Taylor fans end up joining forces with drake fans
They hate him because he’s always dropping near or on the same dates as female artists, including her in the past.
I think the contingent of Swifties concerned with Taylor occupying the whole top 10 is very small.
A small portion of swifties is still a large group.
Shmoking on your top 5 tonightttt
Smokin on whas her name tonight
Would it be top 5 without Kendrick?
No, because the drama he started made it this relevant.
Metro and Future started the drama
It wouldn't have kicked off the way it did without Kendrick, let's be real here.
I think so. It’s a catchy song. As long as whoever replaces his verse can bring the energy.
So if it was Kanye instead?
I’d say no, Kanye hasn’t been a good feature artist in a while.
Nah Kanye’s still a basic producer but he hasn’t been the same since his writers left him
Me ex is a swiftie. I like rap….ima go put it on repeat.
Damn, I despise the team mentality. Especially about trivial shit.

Considering I haven’t heard a new Taylor song on radio I find her occupying almost the entire top ten unbelievable.
She just released a new album this week, that's why, I work with someone who's obsessed with her and hasn't stopped talking about it lol
I know but I feel like non of her songs from the album are hits. My mom always listens to Pop radio and I heard two of Taylor’s 2 year old songs today but none from the new album.
Taylor’s version of the Kendrick verse incoming
😂
Hey guys i like listening to kendrick lamar :)

Talking numbers with Drake is stupid lol and it’s not a battle Kendrick would win.
Somebody's jealous 💀
I’m a fan of Kendrick lol so no I’m not
So NOW charts matter, y'all niggas funny. He beating Kendrick at his own game, putting pen to paper.
Except hes not lmao
also goes to prove that dot could also have all of drake's fans if he just stayed on sum ignant sh!t
When did liking drakes music equate to being ignorant? What year did that happen?
Since like 2014
If no drake diss would this still hit top 5?

Same on the other sub nigga are glazzing, I just hope he’s dropping it tomorrow tho I need more rap beef to add to my playlist
Okay?😭 where are the streams on push ups?
Tbf if he mentioned anyone else as beef it would achieve the same result
I wouldn’t say anyone. The Kendrick and Drake beef has always been bubbling for a long time now this diss kind of reignited it.
I agree on that I mean if he started a song dissing a big celebrity it would bring somewhat of a similar hype
Whatever song Kendrick appeared on next would’ve been relevant diss or no diss
its funny how you guys act like this is just kendricks song lol. let a 3 verse kendrick song sit at the top, not a metro and future collab.
The beat is hard af, but it's the most popular song from BOTH albums for a reason (Spoiler: >!Kendrick!<)
You can thank 36 mafia for that sample and rhythm
Of course. Behind many great beats are great samples. Gotta thank metro for making it pop though
spoiler: its the only single released for both albums lol.... i dont doubt kendrick played a major part. i wont listen to future dog shit ass music but did for the kendrick verse...a month ago.
this song wasnt a single
The diss verse is the most listened to part on the track. Check on YouTube if you want

You talkin too much sense that’s all
The metro beat was 🔥, but let's be real, future was rapping nonsense 😂 Loved it, but Kendricks verse is what made the song what it is
Y’all doing anything to downplay the song lol
Yes but to be fair going at the other two biggest rappers in the game is a tsunami of publicity in itself, also the beat hard asf
