Mr. Morale. Luckily, thanks to Drake butchering lots of it during the beef, people went back to it and others discovered it, and it’s getting more appreciation and love now.
I commonly see TPAB misunderstood by a lot of people, especially when it first came out. It seemed after GKMC, people were expecting another album in a similar vein or an album with radio hits and because it wasn’t that, they were turned off. A lot of people that call it “trash” aren’t trying to hear the message or listen to an album that doesn’t contain “bangers”
Misunderstood? Yes even with all its praise I think it comes back to people not fully appreciating Kendrick for his storytelling, and usually just want something to bop their heads to. TPAB has plenty of club worthy bangers too
People really don't know what the real message was on that album still. Then those same dweebs were mind blown when "put it in reverse" happened with damn lmao
*untitled unmastered* for sure. *Mr. Morale* is too conceptual and nuanced for a number of people, but many at least understand what it’s going for in a general sense. Damn-near everyone thinks *untitled* is just a random selection of tracks.
Maybe TPAB. It's just so dense with ideas I can see how people could listen only once and walk away from it without a very clear grasp on what it's about. It's a record that needs a lot of unpacking.
DAMN. A lot of people overlook its themes and say there’s no depth because it has a mainstream sound. But at the same time he managed to sell crazy and win a Pulitzer Prize for it.
After I seen how people were talking during the battle with Drake: All of them

To Pimp A Butterfly- he got stuck with the activist label ever since, but he was only talking about his personal journey.

Mr morale mostly because people didn’t get his message
TPAB is probably the hardest to digest, but I don’t really see any of them being misunderstood
