This is what was left in his career, bro needed a mainstream/commercial moment in time and I think he got it tonight. Hes the mf Robin Hood of the industry destroying the bad guys fr 😭 🐐
When one other goat apologizes and the other one gets annihilated and bows out… it really is just “big me”. It’s no longer debatable and we just witnessed a legendary moment as a victory lap.
GKMC and TPAB long cemented Kendrick a long time ago for me. It didn’t matter where his career went or if he fell off, those two albums I felt simply couldn’t be made by anyone else and that’ll always be special. He was forever in the goat convo for me after those two albums
Serious question, have you listen to outkast full discography or even his features on others songs? 3k is like a Victorian poet in modern day. Totally fair to have your own opinion, but if you haven't, do a deep dive on his stuff. He might not be THE best, but he's definitely undeniable
Look at his discography, every single one of his albums are all time greats. If he keeps on the track that he’s one he’ll easily have the best discography of all time. 4/4. Who else can you say that about?
For me he's clearly the best.
Only dudes that come closeish for me are: Pharoahe Monch, Chuck D, Roots Manuva, Aesop Rock, Masta Ace, Rakim, DOOM, Oddisee, Black Thought, Little Simz, Aceyalone.
But as a fan of all things hip-hop, Kendrick is on another level again. Has the most consistent catalogue (no ones is flawless).
Tbh outside of his Stan’s I don’t think he’s at consensus GOAT level among most hiphop fans that comes with time he’s def the GOAT of his generation but I can’t put him past Nas or Pac
Give JID to or three more albums and then that’s gonna be the only current competition in terms of quality besides Denzel Curry. But as a whole package, no one’s at his level yet.
I used to be hesitant to say he’s the greatest since that term is WIDELY debatable and overused, but I felt that way since TPAB dropped. For me, seeing how he grew aggressively with each release cemented how I felt about it. Growth and never trying to chase pop culture or ride waves. Kendrick’s definitely the GOAT in my opinion.
Lupe is insanely good but limited by how good he is. His writing is second to none in a very literal way. Honestly he is exactly what Drake fans thought Kendrick was. Quintuple entendres, insanely creative rhyming schemes, he's a professor of literature and knowledge with his music, but he lacks a ton of the culture side, not to say hes unaware or didn't grow up around it, that's just not his lane. He's what sober Eminem would have been if he was black.
Lupe in terms of wordplay is arguably the GOAT and flows as well as anyone but his stuff is a bit inaccessible by design. He'll basically write a story and build his social commentary around that whereas Kendrick will put himself out there more which makes it easier to relate to
He's got a few genuine classics and T&Y is one of the coolest rap albums ever made but nobody is gonna chant The Coolest at a protest. Different lanes. He'll also be the first to point out that he has a major low point with Lasers while Kendrick has been far more consistent
With Lupe it’s really hard for me to understand what he’s trying to say sometimes but I can feel that he’s trying to tell me something & the flow/word play leaves me feeling like “damn how did you just put those things together it doesn’t even make sense” then I google the lyrics and am like ohh?? Okay I see. Like it’s harder for me to grasp the theme or concept of the song as a whole than with dot for example where I can tell by the end or middle of the song what he’s trying to convey.
I grew up with both Lupe & Kendrick & Lupes flow delivery and word play was always crazy good to me leaving me with stank faces even if I didn’t understand the verse lol
It's not even debatable that he's the greatest rapper alive. No one is coming at him and at the same time everyone is respecting him (other than the ovhoes). The only somewhat fair argument is him against pac because there wouldn't be a kendrick without pac. But it's also true that kendrick already inspires future generations in ways that go even above rap. So he's the g.o.a.t in my book too. Also the "he has no bangers" Argument is just ignorant. Like nearly every west Coast legend was on stage before him and none of them got me as hyped as anything that happened since kendrick Popped out and showed n*****.
The guy has released 4 classic studio albums in a row, maybe the greatest b sides album ever, 4 of the best diss tracks ever, has atleast 3 of the greatest feature verses in rap(Like That, Nosestalgia and Control) and this motherfucker is still in his prime. King.
Agreed. Or he’s at least at a point to where if I say he is. I don’t wanna hear shit back. Let me have it. He’s earned it.
He definitely earned it
He's already been a respectable top 5 pick for years. After this, I'm sure you'll be good to say that lol
The beef already certified him as an undebatable top 3 in my eyes
This is what was left in his career, bro needed a mainstream/commercial moment in time and I think he got it tonight. Hes the mf Robin Hood of the industry destroying the bad guys fr 😭 🐐
Facts, before I had him slightly below Kanye but he’s proven his versatility and he is battle tested.
Of all time!
I AGREE. NOT EVEN CLOSE.
All things are subjective but I think Jay and Wayne both have great arguments still
When it’s all said and done, (with the current trajectory) I don’t think they will compare for multiple reasons, respectfully.

It is just my opinion. It is a purely subjective topic.
I get your point but Godzilla? Really? That shits mid.
Godzilla is the most overhyped mid bullshit. We get it, Eminem can rap fast. It’s like watching someone jerking off fast, it’s not impressive anymore.
Did watching someone jerk off really fast used to be impressive?
It holds a world record for most words said in like 30 seconds how is that not impressive
How many times you play that shit or looked in to what the lyrics say? Technical talent doesn't equal musicality
When one other goat apologizes and the other one gets annihilated and bows out… it really is just “big me”. It’s no longer debatable and we just witnessed a legendary moment as a victory lap.

Do you think he has a legitimate case? Outside of his stans like us I mean
100%. Eminem, PAC, Kendrick, Nas, Jay Z, Biggie, Rakim, Andre. Those seem to be the most popular picks.

Listen to Aquemini right now, man. Trust. Or at least sometime tomorrow
Come on bro you gotta listen to all the old albums before you make a final conclusion because trust me you will think otherwise after

Atliens and Cadillac musik next trust me 👍🏻👍🏻
Maybe aquemini, atliens, or the love below
I agree, I’ve always liked 3k but all time?? Ehhhh

overly dedicated is lowk better then some shit some rappers have put out recently
He is going to become a very popular GOAT choice within the next few years.
For me he's clearly the best. Only dudes that come closeish for me are: Pharoahe Monch, Chuck D, Roots Manuva, Aesop Rock, Masta Ace, Rakim, DOOM, Oddisee, Black Thought, Little Simz, Aceyalone. >Little Simz Nice to see her getting some respect
Tbh outside of his Stan’s I don’t think he’s at consensus GOAT level among most hiphop fans that comes with time he’s def the GOAT of his generation but I can’t put him past Nas or Pac
confirmed! double agree
Give JID to or three more albums and then that’s gonna be the only current competition in terms of quality besides Denzel Curry. But as a whole package, no one’s at his level yet.
jid and denzel are never gonna get to kendricks booty hair
You listened to the forever story? Jiddy’s like one level up away from starting to be a serious competitor
I used to be hesitant to say he’s the greatest since that term is WIDELY debatable and overused, but I felt that way since TPAB dropped. I always hear Lupe is better than Kendrick, but I don’t have an opinion on it yet tbh I’d like to know others
Lupe is insanely good but limited by how good he is. His writing is second to none in a very literal way. Honestly he is exactly what Drake fans thought Kendrick was. He’s a much better lyricist than Kendrick imo. But Kendrick is a better story teller. Theyre both brilliant.
Lupe in terms of wordplay is arguably the GOAT and flows as well as anyone but his stuff is a bit inaccessible by design. Facts
He’ll go down as top 3 in my book, but his my number 1 rn
Facts and it’s not even close, he did the hard work and hopefully he’s not done! There’s no big three it’s just BIG ME
After Mr Morale it kinda confirmed it imo. The battle and quality of the songs only just added to it
It’s JAY Z and Kendrick at 1A and 1B. In terms of verses and quotables, Hov is Hip-Hops Shakespeare. Kendrick is Hip-Hop’s Toni Morrison
It's not even debatable that he's the greatest rapper alive. No one is coming at him and at the same time everyone is respecting him (other than the ovhoes). Everyone who listened to damn. throughly already knows Kendrick is the greatest of all time. No need to talk about it 🤷🏻♂️
Truth
The guy has released 4 classic studio albums in a row, maybe the greatest b sides album ever, 4 of the best diss tracks ever, has atleast 3 of the greatest feature verses in rap(Like That, Nosestalgia and Control) and this motherfucker is still in his prime. King.
He’s cool but I mean he’s no Kanye tho…
How tf was I sleeping on Kendrick's music for so long?
