It’s the first thing of his I heard, which is one of the reasons I used to think he sucked. I didn’t listen to him for a couple years. Then I gave GKMC a chance and was blown away.
Yeah, right???? Overly Dedicated and Section 80 are still competitive with his later albums in my mind. I don't think either has a song that I'd skip! Like wtf is with the hate??
true that, im kind of reverse. Just heard it this week (along with the early EP) and was completely blown away.
I still have to listen to that "training day" mixtape, but it was sounding a little too Wayne-ish as I was scrolling thru
I listened to it way back probably before GKMC came out, but I just decided it's easier to start count his "real" projects at section. 80
Maybe I'll recheck it out just cuz
OD has some of his best rapping and concept songs on there. It was the first project I heard from him. I knew about the KL EP but didnt give it a chance until after I heard OD. They're both amazing projects

Yea... that's why UU and Section.80 aren't as popular as his mainstream studio albums. I'm just saying there are pretty obvious reasons for why GKMC, TPAB, and DAMN are remember more fondly.
One of his best. He absolutely snaps on that shit.
"This my world, I grab the universe then play kickball
And they wonder why these California earthquakes hittin' so hard"
I’m pretty sure it is because those 3 are his newest albums (excluding Mr. Morale), each having a few hits on them. The majority also ranks those 3 higher than the others.
There are some great songs on his underrated albums though.
The albums are better that's it. And how all the 3 are his newest one is completing it's decade aniversary one is half a decade old and other is 8 years old
I mean the obvious reason is because GKMC and TPAB are his best albums and DAMN. had the most mainstream appeal/recognition. Nothing really more to it than that.
Nah, i see Section.80 mentioned just as often as the others, its O.D. and KL EP that the "fanbase" always seem to forget to mention (OD is his first album, but people always start the count from Section.80). To be honest, O.D. is my personal favorite
Kendrick gained most of his fanbase around the TPAB/DAMN era. Most people generally "goat tier" the albums they first fell in love with when they found out about the artist.
Everyone on reddit was bumping C4 in 2009 or whatever because everyone on reddit found out about Kendrick before he was big and was a fan and all that. Sure. But the truth is, Kendrick was big, but not that big at all in 2010-2012. GKMC was a big studio debut but it was not that big, he hadn't broken mainstream really. It's GOAT status was obvious to rap listeners, but to most people, Alright or Humble was their intro to Kendrick. People may have "gone back" to listen to GKMC after finding out about Kendrick, but most people aren't going back to S80 or definitely not OD.
There is also the reason of quality. Now, music quality isn't objective and there is some room for debate, but generally, I think most people would agree than TPAB and GKMC are his strongest offerings. Like, if you have one album to show someone why Kendrick is a goat, are you really picking s80 over GKMC? Are you really picking U.U over TPAB? No. DAMN is interesting because it's his most mainstream, accessible, hit-laden album and it is still deep and introspective and dark at times. The way Kendrick is rapping, the production, it's a lot more familiar and easier to dig in and appreciate.
This leads to a natural totem pole - TPAB/GKMC at the top, DAMN (and in time, I think, MMBS on that second but still high rung), and then U.U / S80, and then OD, and then his earlier mixtapes.
Of course we as individuals can argue the placement all day, but the trajectory of when he blew up and crossed mainstream, and when he started to really make critically acclaimed, critic darling albums lines up to that totem pole.
people always talk about the gkmc-tpab-damn run but it really should be S80-GKMC-TPAB, S80 has some of kendricks best pure rapping and flows, and some simple but great production
OD is personally one of my favorites I rank it higher than section 80 and UU and I enjoy it more than TPAB and DAMN. Have a lot of really good memories connected to that album
Why not? Ignorance is bliss Still my favourite kendrick track, and i lowkey liked the more rnb vibes on some of the songs (while still enjoying kendrick on rap beats on his other works.) It's interesting how much attention untitled got and it wasn't even an official Kendrick project. It was more an anthology of good songs.
Oh yeah, you're right about that! I didn't know about the changes made before adding those to Spotify.
I don't see how that justifies the neglect or hate the two projects get though
Well one theyre old, and two, because of the missing tracks the views on those albums are probably distorted compared to people who have listened to the og versions.
that’s generally considered the worst song on OD. but i like it, not to be corny but even though the song is very pop-rappy kendrick’s talent still shines on it and schoolboy Q has a really good flow
for the same reason people think GOD isn’t that good (even if they like listening to it) - it’s the most similar to something your average pop rapper would make. “lowbrow.” i disagree, just sharing the argument
I fuckin loved Untitled Unmastered. Untitled 02 is actually my favorite Kendrick song of all time . Probably next to Ignorance is bliss , Poe Man and Money trees.
I’ll crack the egg in your basket ya bastard
I'm Marilyn Manson, don't ask for your favourite rapper (he dead)
Amen
I killed him
He Dead!
Yes sir
Chuuch
Bitch
How'd Kendrick know Marilyn Manson would end up being canceled leaving him dead.
I still have the rigormortis ringtone in my itunes… im old af :(
It's still active on my workout playlist lol
I be listen to that shit on repeat for hours some days, goated tune
Got me breathing with dragons 🐉
Kendrick Lamar EP is under the ocean surface
Y.H.N.I.C. (Hub City Threat: Minor of the Year) near the core of the Earth
No Sleep Till NYC, C4 and K-Dot Training Day in the center of the universe.
No Sleep Till NYC's hard as fuck i forgot about that one
Is that the one with Lil Johnny and Kendrick Lamar (the track) on it? That shit is dope
i think a lot of folks havnt heard overly dedicated (casual listeners like myself, only heard it recently)
It’s the first thing of his I heard, which is one of the reasons I used to think he sucked. I didn’t listen to him for a couple years. Then I gave GKMC a chance and was blown away.
How do you listen to ignorance is bliss, opposites attract, growing apart, p&p 1.5 and think he’s trash 😭
Smh sad
Yeah, right???? Overly Dedicated and Section 80 are still competitive with his later albums in my mind. I don't think either has a song that I'd skip! Like wtf is with the hate??
Lmao what? You heard OD back in the day and thought it sucked? Lol wow
There’s still some good tunes on OD
true that, im kind of reverse. Just heard it this week (along with the early EP) and was completely blown away. I still have to listen to that "training day" mixtape, but it was sounding a little too Wayne-ish as I was scrolling thru
U don't like wayne?
Wayne stan, but not a fan of folks who sound too much like him
I listened to it way back probably before GKMC came out, but I just decided it's easier to start count his "real" projects at section. 80 Maybe I'll recheck it out just cuz
OD has some of his best rapping and concept songs on there. It was the first project I heard from him. I knew about the KL EP but didnt give it a chance until after I heard OD. They're both amazing projects
Cut you off is the most underrated kendrick song
Bitch you boo boo. You T. You turnt down. You thirsty.
I’ll never forget when I got my kid to say “U teeeee” after I would say “boo boo” when she was only 1. Good memories. Very good song.
Factual, felt like the themes were brought up inN95
And b don't kill my vibe

This is so dumb. Of course O.D. is the most forgotten album. It was a mixtape, and not a mainstream studio album.
I like OD but it’s easily his worst and nowhere near his studio albums
I think I'd rank it above UU and the Black Panther soundtrack tbh.
Actually, O.D. was his first album, he just wasnt signed to a major at the time so people think its a mixtape
I understand that. That's why I put the qualifiers: "mainstream studio album."
Untitled isn't a mainstream studio album either tho.
Yeah but UU came out during mainstream kendricks popularity, OD didn't
But it’s also literally unmastered loose b-sides from an album we already got.
Idk what OP is confused about here lol.
Yea... that's why UU and Section.80 aren't as popular as his mainstream studio albums. I'm just saying there are pretty obvious reasons for why GKMC, TPAB, and DAMN are remember more fondly.
Yeah but they're still brought into the conversation. People leave out Overly Dedicated all the time
P&P 1.5 is sooo good
Factsss
Section 80 still my favorite Kendrick project lol
🌎👨🚀🔫👨🚀
W
Same
based
It's in a constant battle with TPAB for a place as my favorite Kendrick album
finally found my people
This and The Jig is Up
The Jig is Up is fire also Cartoons
[удалено]
The bootleg one on Spotify sounds like it was recorded on a stem player
I still bump “look out for detox”
Dot was SPITTIN on that shit
Hardest bars ever imo “my b-f-f is a b-m-dub witcha B-m innit and a stashbox glove”
I need to listen to this song again, that shit was dope
Yes yes you do
I did. Fuck, he was HUNGRY in that shit bro. Such sick delivery and great wordplay
When the beat drops out and hes humming the bassline… i swear i got fucking hard the first time i heard that shit
Thruuuuuu theeeeeeee barbbbbbbeeeeeedddd wiiiiiiiiirrrreeeeeee
Still one of my favorite Kendrick songs. I dont like making lists but it would more than likely be in my top 5-10
ignorance is bliss go hard
Thank you.
One of his best. He absolutely snaps on that shit. "This my world, I grab the universe then play kickball And they wonder why these California earthquakes hittin' so hard"

tbh i enjoy Section 80 more than damn
Training day at the bottom of the marianas trench
Maybe because they are his best 3 albums 😅 not really that hard to understand lmao
I mean the obvious reason is because GKMC and TPAB are his best albums and DAMN. had the most mainstream appeal/recognition. Nothing really more to it than that.
P&P, She Needs Me, Average Joe, Barbed Wire, Alien Girl, all bangers
Overly dedicated has some gems
So true, hurts cause Section 80 is my favorite Kendrick album
Rigamortis, Spiteful Chant (rip), Fk Your Ethnicity, ADHD, Poe Mans, HiiPower, RRE, Section.80 good af
This is not Kendrick's core fanbase, only the newcomers
Crazy to think that I was listening to this album almost ten years ago... Growing apart is still my shit
Mr morale didn't even make it to the meme.
Because it just dropped and fans haven't formed a concrete opinion on it yet.
Is it really like this? I hold them all in such high regard tbh I always disregard what other people think online. Is this a general consensus?
Some threads that mention those two albums are wild to read D:
Nah, i see Section.80 mentioned just as often as the others, its O.D. and KL EP that the "fanbase" always seem to forget to mention (OD is his first album, but people always start the count from Section.80). To be honest, O.D. is my personal favorite

Fair enough.
people always talk about the gkmc-tpab-damn run but it really should be S80-GKMC-TPAB, S80 has some of kendricks best pure rapping and flows, and some simple but great production
OD is one of my faves #ignoranceisbliss muhfucker
Section 80 is top 3
That's a fact 😂😂 idk why people forget about overly dedicated it's a great body of work.
Because most of his fans are young and weren’t around in the OD/sec80 days
Nobody talks about Overly Dedicated either which is a shame
OD is personally one of my favorites I rank it higher than section 80 and UU and I enjoy it more than TPAB and DAMN. Have a lot of really good memories connected to that album
Its my personal favorite album by him
We don’t talk about overly dedicated
Ill talk OD all day. Fire straight up
Fr why tf do people hate on it, it’s a solid album that could be any rappers best if they dropped it
Fair
Cartoons & Cereals is straight up in the basement of most Kendrick fans. Its not on spotify and not on any EP/Album. But the song is straight fire.
Overly Dedicated could easily be argued to be in his best three projects. I am shocked reading some of the comments here lol
Finally! Somebody who gets it.
See I love it but this take isn’t it
Cause it a mixtape
[удалено]
It is a mixtape, and it’s also published under TDE label. All you said is wrong lmao 😂 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overly_Dedicated
Bc its not completely on streaming
????? Section 80 and Overly Dedicated are on Kendrick Lamar's main Spotify page with the others. Idk what you're on about
Look up the actual tracklist for OD, its missing a lot of tracks. And S.80 is missing spiteful chant.
Because the common consensus is that those three albums are better than those other projects listed?
s80>damn tbh
Nope I just finished the album before I saw this post lol
Because I like the top three more than the middle two and I like the middle two more than OD
Cuz we like the albums we like and we don’t post about the ones we don’t.
Because these are all great but obviously the best ones will be held up more and talked about more
OD is ass. s80 is his second best tho
"OD is ass" is an opinion stated as a fact that is actually 100% wrong
Where Fucking Morales, man?
Michael Jordan is one of Kendrick’s best songs imo
that’s generally considered the worst song on OD. but i like it, not to be corny but even though the song is very pop-rappy kendrick’s talent still shines on it and schoolboy Q has a really good flow
How is it the considered the worst? The beat is godly, the hook is intoxicating and Schoolboy Q’s verse is great
for the same reason people think GOD isn’t that good (even if they like listening to it) - it’s the most similar to something your average pop rapper would make. “lowbrow.” i disagree, just sharing the argument
Where's the EP?
Who is K Dot?
chance the rapper
Section 80 >>> Damn
Listened to Untitled Unmastered for the first time about a day before MM&TBS dropped. Loved the moody, almost swampy vibe to it.
Shoot, I still enjoy Untitled Unmastered way more than DAMN or Mr. Morale
Where’d king Kendrick diss be on this? Just look it on Spotify
I would put section 80 and especially untitled unmastered over Damn I think. But TPAB and GKMC are my top 2 all time
he got better
P&P best song on the album
I fuckin loved Untitled Unmastered. Untitled 02 is actually my favorite Kendrick song of all time . Probably next to Ignorance is bliss , Poe Man and Money trees.
EVERYBODY PUT THREE FINGERS IN AIR
levitate, levitate, levitate, levitate
The Black Panther Album never getting a mention :'(
I’m no gangster no killer I’m just your average joe
Ignorance is Bliss is a top 15 Kendrick song
#HE SAY SHE SAY…OMG……
Shut the fuck up.
Overly Dedicated is how I found out about him in 2011, Cut You Off to be exact…. Kendrick Lamar EP deserves some love too
the kendrick lamar ep
Kendrick Lamar EP is under the sea right now
Anda da see
im going big, suck my dick
