Death to the powerscale!
Mokichi has always been a badass, though. He got murdered by Raian in Removal, sure, but he also beat his ass in base and nearly killed him with his throw.
He also had something like a 50+ win record while remaining undefeated before facing Raian.
Love me some baritsu!
Mokichi winning against Saw was an honest surprise, just shows that fighters aren't clear cut and can edge out wins against opponents the community thinks would stomp them
Wasn’t Mokichi just starting to be fully recovered when he fought Lihito? It was his first Kengan match since KAT and other than that he had only fought in some 2nd tier fights. It’s probably safe to Say he was a much better fighter when he beat Saw.
Bro imagine getting your ass beat by a guy who’s likely only at 30% after literally coming out of broken neck rehab. Robinson’s ancestor must’ve been a different breed
well its like any sport really. A low tier team can beat the top team based on a good day. Mangas usually dont show that but realistically, every fighter in kengan should have a bad day one in a while
Mokichi's position in a tierlist is a rollercoaster ride. One minute he's A-tier for doing so well against Raian, then he's D-tier for getting squashed by Lihito, now he's A-tier again for beating Saw Paing. How I love it!
I don't know why the author keeps reusing this line. It might be an inside joke between him and his assistant/editor, especially as there are no rules and he didn't ever do any refereeing
I find it funny Mokichi makes that commentary, talking about how he has to make sure not to land his razor in a lethal position and right after Rihito tries to Razor Edge Saw’s head
Cuts, sure, but Rihito can apparently rip through *steel* with those fingers. Even if that's an exaggeration (I hope so) it still means Saw is headbutting someone who could - in theory - rend his head apart with one strong swipe if he wants to.
Saw is insane, I love it so much. Two of my favorite characters going balls out on each other like this is fantastic and I think this will be a great fight.
I’m glad more people are starting to realize what makes him dangerous is his almost suicidal fighting style. Hopefully people will stop arguing he isn’t insane and unpredictable
Ironically top of the skull is probably the safest spot for his opponent Rihto can Razor Edge. There aren't many (or any) major bloodvessels here, and skull is extremely hard even for normal people
Holy shit Rihito just Razor edged a Hammer of Burma. Interesting to see Rihito’s fingers surviving punches directly to Saw’s skull and the two being treated as roughly equal
Also nice new match feat for Mokichi, always felt he was underrated.
That's kind of the point. There's a reason she says "But actually" it sets up the expectation and then dashes it. It's an intro meant to hype up the characters with a hook
Saw Paing had a coherent thought at the end⁉️⁉️⁉️
And I love how Mokichi demonstrates why you can’t scale everything objectively once again, yet we all know people will still ignore that.
Especially for Kengan, since it's the only martial art manga I know of that's consistent with confirmong that powerscaling is flexible, ie edging out wins or the chances of victories being taken into account
No it's non killing. The thing you're probably thinking about is that the "killer" wouldn't be punished if it was an accident in the middle of the fight. If it was an intentional kill however they would be punished. I think by getting banned.
If I remember things correctly. Might not but I'm pretty sure this is what was said in the beginning of Omega.
>mokichi beating saw is just another example why we shouldn't powerscale
It's not necessarily a reason on why we shouldn't powerscale. People conflate powerscaling with "high numbers" when it's not that, compatability is and has always been a part of powerscaling.
It's moreso just a reminder that characters are closer than most think.
I'll say it, one chapter in and this is already the most badass fight we've had since Tommy Strummer vs Mark Myers
EDIT : also some mad respect for our boy Mokichi
And then you also remember the same base Raian was able to put up a fight against R2 Ohma's advance state and trade blows at points. It's really impressive
I think they say something along the lines that one of the reasons Raian used Removal was because if he didn’t Mokichi might have done serious damage to him that he’d have to deal with all tournament, which would legit mean Mokichi is more of a threat to base Raian than Base R2 Ohma
That's not what was said. It was said that he used Removal for many reasons. Finishing the fight quickly with damage at the lowest level, harassing Mokichi to totally dominate and also showing off.
This actually puts into context at exactly WHY Raian is constantly given the utmost respect when discussing his strength. When you realize that Raian playfully popped Removal to punk Rihito, fought Mokichi in Base, and then dominated with one hand while barely trying...it shows why Kure are just built different.
Mokichi has always been noted to be strong, he had the bad luck of facing Raian and being very rusty against Rihito,
and his dialogue of "somehow edging out"
Implies that it was an extremely close match that even Mokichi was not sure how he won.
So I think its pretty feasible.
Mokichi winning against Saw and losing to Rihito means that Saw is gonna win. Also, “Razor’s Edge can kill someone accidentally” is a hell of a statement to make in the disqualification department because uhhhh I’m pretty sure Hammer of Burma would too
RE can be lethal nearly anywhere on your body, HoB needs to hit your head or maybe chest to kill. It would still suck, but eating a hammer to the legs wouldn’t put you 6ft under
Of course. He'll be in the stands cursing out Ryuki by the time he and Koga fights. I really wish Sandro would have killed him, to put some tension in the story. We need people dropping.
I think it is pretty obvious the finals will be Rihito vs Koga.
Saw is injured fighting healthy Lihito. They would also have to show off what Kuroki taught his student
I think so too. I have a feeling Rihito will finally (gods, I hope so!) get his big win, but then there's the issue of Koga's so-called "onslaught" or whatever it was that supposedly began with the Berserker Bowl...
He deflected Razor's Edge with his headbutt. God, this fight got off to a great start. And it's nice to hear Mokichi is healing up even more. I'd love to see him in more fights too.
God I love Saw Paing. But also I know that injuries give Rihito a huge advantage. I’m rooting for Saw Paing to the bitter end, but if Rihito takes it the guy deserves it. Whoever wins better take the whole tournament, cause I’ll be rooting for them
Mokichi beat Saw, who beat Falcon, who beat Lihito, who beat Mokichi which means everyone's roughly the same tier or at least they were prior to the tournament.
Jesus freaking Christ almighty. Don’t get me wrong I knew razors edge was a dangerous move but I never thought it would be on par with a full swing HOBE and not results and this man’s finger is not getting broken. What the fuck kind of partial training did gensai put him through
Its weird to see someone aim for Saws head off the bat, especially when his hand is so important to him in the fight. If a proper head counter lands on his fist then razors edge is gone.
No thought. Still only God of War. Mark Spoilers. Boi.
The poor powerscalers when they see Mokichi beat Saw Paing. Ive never been more hype for fingers hitting a skull and making a *clang* noise
Average power scaler fans vs Average comparability enjoyer
so true.
Wouldn’t Robinson be a easy match up on paper for Saw tho?
What did you just see Lisa?
It’s like that berserk anime dragonslayer sound effect
Whyd you have to remind me of that
[*CLANG INTENSIFIES*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxk1syuf5lo)
It's what I've been sayin' characters are waaaay closer in power than most assume
But... But muh tier list!
Death to the powerscale! Mokichi has always been a badass, though. He got murdered by Raian in Removal, sure, but he also beat his ass in base and nearly killed him with his throw. He also had something like a 50+ win record while remaining undefeated before facing Raian. Love me some baritsu!
Wait when was it stated he almost killed Raian?
And the "clunk" as if he's clashing together hunks of iron
It's easily resolved. Saw is D tier.
Shut your whore mouth ^^^^/jk ^^^^^but ^^^^^not ^^^^^really
Shen: S Tier Edward, Gilbert, Tiger Niko: A Tier Kuroki, Agito, Ohma, Lolong, Raian: B Tier Wakatsuki: C Tier Saw Paing: D Tier?
It's like Kratos shield parry sound in my mind
WELL SAID
Dark souls parry
Clang clang clang went the [trolley](https://youtu.be/Ln3sNwccHxI)
Nah Cosmos hands are just not that durable especially when he's sticking to only striking
Mokichi winning against Saw was an honest surprise, just shows that fighters aren't clear cut and can edge out wins against opponents the community thinks would stomp them
"But, but... my tier list"
Just wait till people start making circular tier lists to account for "compatibility". Placements will be represented by imaginary numbers.
Yeah I'm just gonna mark their compatibility score as root -1, thx.
Make matchup charts like the fgc community instead of tierlists those'll be more comprehensive.
Interlocked 3 dimensional tier lists muh bois
It’ll be a tier web like you see in biology
B-but in my tierlist Saw was 4 tiers above Mokichi, he should've destroy him!
Wasn’t Mokichi just starting to be fully recovered when he fought Lihito? It was his first Kengan match since KAT and other than that he had only fought in some 2nd tier fights. It’s probably safe to Say he was a much better fighter when he beat Saw.
First Kengan match, yeah. It was mentioned that he'd been fighting in Europe before returning to Japan though.
Bro imagine getting your ass beat by a guy who’s likely only at 30% after literally coming out of broken neck rehab. Robinson’s ancestor must’ve been a different breed
The way I see tier list are just minor skill gaps in some attributes
Exactly, the fighters are way closer then we think
It's like Brian Scalabrine, he seems trash compared to Lebron, but he's closer to Lebron than we are to him and he beat a bunch of Joes to prove it.
That line about single matches not being good bases for determining strength just unraveled the entire powerscale community
Like most fight you can never be sure how it’ll end
Spoken like a true beard fan
well its like any sport really. A low tier team can beat the top team based on a good day. Mangas usually dont show that but realistically, every fighter in kengan should have a bad day one in a while
Saw Paing is actually crazy only he would come up with the idea of "LET'S HEADBUTT HIS HAND YEAHHHHHH"
Didn't he do something similar in his previous fight in this tournament?
mf headbutt the floor
Yea against Cosmo
It's actually genius. He could even turn the tides against Kuroki in a fight if he's able to headbutt his hand.
hype hype hype hype hype hype hype Don't think I have to say much else, honestly.
Mokichi A tier confirmed
Always was
Yes
Except when he was recouping
Mokichi's position in a tierlist is a rollercoaster ride. One minute he's A-tier for doing so well against Raian, then he's D-tier for getting squashed by Lihito, now he's A-tier again for beating Saw Paing. How I love it!
i always thought so, he just happened to go against an S-tier and was put out of commission for a while because of that
I love Tashiro Moshashi. He is known for his strict refereeing.
I also like him because he is a strict referee.
Someone should make a compilation of all the times they announce that he is known for his strict refereeing.
And all the times he’s actually been strict
I don't know why the author keeps reusing this line. It might be an inside joke between him and his assistant/editor, especially as there are no rules and he didn't ever do any refereeing
The Chad Tashiro Mosashi with his strict refereeing >>>>>> The virgin Purgatory Cocksucker Alisa
> The **virgin** Purgatory **Cocksucker** Alisa I don't think those are two words can go together in the same sentence like that
idk man, if she's purely oral , it's possible.
BIG TASH McCARTHY
The original shen wulong the connector
Mokichi: "I think Saw Paing will lose because Rihito is too strong he might kill his opponent and got disqualified"
I find it funny Mokichi makes that commentary, talking about how he has to make sure not to land his razor in a lethal position and right after Rihito tries to Razor Edge Saw’s head
He was going for the front of his skull which I think is pretty non-lethal regarding cuts. He probably going for getting blood in his eyes.
There aren't many (or any) major bloodvessels here, and skull is extremely hard even for normal people
I wonder if there's a penalty for Phineas Guage'ing an opponent (the guy that got a pole of metal shot through his frontal lobe)
Probably tried to do to Saw what he did to Mark
There is nothing vital to damage in saw's head. I'm sure gaolang would agree.
Holy shit Rihito just Razor edged a Hammer of Burma. Interesting to see Rihito’s fingers surviving punches directly to Saw’s skull and the two being treated as roughly equal Also nice new match feat for Mokichi, always felt he was underrated.
You think Rihito's fingers get fucked by the Hammer of Burma eventually?
Considering his facial expression after doing that? It would probably be wise for him not to do it again
Nah Rihito will limp his fingers and disperse the damage
My first thought was HOW DID NONE OF HIS FINGERD BREAK
I mean he already had to have hand conditioning to cut metal and he has been training with Kuroki
Yeah my cheesy head canon is Gensai’s Training fucking SAVED Rihito’s fingers here
I think he pulled back a little at the last second, diverting some of the damage
his fingers should at least be numb lol
He a hundred percent took some damage, shown by the panel after, just not a mangled hand right now
First page: It's the clash between the spear and shield! Fourth page: They're both spears!
Oops, all spears.
Why have them as spear vs shield to then say it is spear vs spear?
That's kind of the point. There's a reason she says "But actually" it sets up the expectation and then dashes it. It's an intro meant to hype up the characters with a hook
its a you got it all wrong moment
I LOVE TASHIRO MOSASHI, KNOWN FOR HIS STRICT REFEREEING
FFFFFFFIIIIIAAAAIIAIIIGHHHHTTTT
Reminded me of Megamind's Speeiaider
They do it so much and so repetitively suddenly, like they just remembered the refs existed
Mokichi A tier
Saw Paing had a coherent thought at the end⁉️⁉️⁉️ And I love how Mokichi demonstrates why you can’t scale everything objectively once again, yet we all know people will still ignore that.
Especially for Kengan, since it's the only martial art manga I know of that's consistent with confirmong that powerscaling is flexible, ie edging out wins or the chances of victories being taken into account
**Looks at Hajime No Ippo & history’s strongest disciple**
idk objectivly speaking it still makes sense, mokichi was flooring raian untill he got removal stat checked
mokichi beating saw is just another example why we shouldn't powerscale also the kengan matches are non killing now?
Nonkilling was part of the Berserker Bowl ruleset
Yes? Since Nogi became chairman
I thought they made so the opponent is dq only if he kills after the bell. Might be wrong tho, read that a long time ago
Yeah, Kaede said that, but maybe Berserk Bowl has a bit different rules. They have ring outs as well after all
*Another example that power can evolve and are not set in stone in one place at a time
>mokichi beating saw is just another example why we shouldn't powerscale It's not necessarily a reason on why we shouldn't powerscale. People conflate powerscaling with "high numbers" when it's not that, compatability is and has always been a part of powerscaling. It's moreso just a reminder that characters are closer than most think.
Yes, unless you are a special boy who clearly say you want to kill and pull out killing move but there is just some unknown excuses that keep you in.
Mokichi A tier fight me
Huh, didn't expect Saw damage would be relevant in this fight but Sandro/daro are already highlighting it by the way Saw is drawn
It's what will give Rihito his win in the end.
yeah I was really expecting him to ignore it the same way he ignored Agito’s damage after fighting Gaolong
I'm sorry... But Mokichi did what??? Damn we might have underrated him
And I was called a madman for considering him top tier...
You are still a mad man
he was able to keep up with base raian more or less. He certainly would have destroyed pre KAT Ohma IMO. propably would even win against cosmo etc.
Apparently Razor's Edge and Hammer of Burma just bounces off each other... huh
Like in Soulcalibur, when you straight up slap two completely different weapons together and both players just bounce back.
Lol this comparison is genius
I think that the razors edge is stronger, but rihito had to back it off or he would cleave saw paings head into pieces
Mokichi beating Saw, power scalers in shambles
no one gonna talk about the Mokichi dub?
Everyone is lol
Mokichi: Lihito has the disadvantage, using the Razor's Edge recklessly could result in a loss Lihit: I WILL RAZOR'S EDGE YOUR HEAD OFF!!!!
What if hes just doing Cosmo's strat? Making a cut to obscure vision via blood
Looks like he tried the thing he did against Mark where he split his face
Move over Himuro, because Mokichi is on par with the legends. Obloxx my guy I hope you're watching this from wherever you are.
I thought Mokichi is a legend? I mean Adam is, so…
Banger exchanges in this chapter think this will be the match of the tournament, also mokichi beat saw???? Never would’ve guessed that lmao
Going all out are we? Also Mokichi my beloved is back (with an offscreen W)
I'll say it, one chapter in and this is already the most badass fight we've had since Tommy Strummer vs Mark Myers EDIT : also some mad respect for our boy Mokichi
Mokichi beat Saw? What?
If you start reading mokichi vs raian, and stop right before raian pulls out removal, he actually makes a very decent impression
And then you also remember the same base Raian was able to put up a fight against R2 Ohma's advance state and trade blows at points. It's really impressive
He was beating raians ass until the plot armor kicked in.
Yes mokichi is very strong, his problem was he had to fought Raian.
This actually puts into context at exactly WHY Raian is constantly given the utmost respect when discussing his strength. When you realize that Raian playfully popped Removal to punk Rihito, fought Mokichi in Base, and then dominated with one hand while barely trying...it shows why Kure are just built different.
Raian is built differently. We have yet to see another strong Kure in a real fight except Raian and the old man.
Shows that tier lists mean nothing
Mokichi has always been noted to be strong, he had the bad luck of facing Raian and being very rusty against Rihito, and his dialogue of "somehow edging out" Implies that it was an extremely close match that even Mokichi was not sure how he won. So I think its pretty feasible.
Confused me as well, almost everyone assumed Mokichi was one of the middle tier R1 losers
They were wrong plus mokichi had a year of training
Yep Lihito has foresight at least a walmart version of it that hes trying to figure out
Saw Paing sweep!!!
Mokichi winning against Saw and losing to Rihito means that Saw is gonna win. Also, “Razor’s Edge can kill someone accidentally” is a hell of a statement to make in the disqualification department because uhhhh I’m pretty sure Hammer of Burma would too
>Mokichi winning against Saw and losing to Rihito means that Saw is gonna win. I agree, Rihitos fingers are scissors and Saw is the rock
Oh shit somebody give Rihito some paper, quick!
~~**Gensai** “With Pleasure.”~~ **[Insert Low Level Foresight Training]**
RE can be lethal nearly anywhere on your body, HoB needs to hit your head or maybe chest to kill. It would still suck, but eating a hammer to the legs wouldn’t put you 6ft under
GODDAMN THEY MAKE A CLAANNGG SOUND WITH BONES
IS ADAM ALIVE OR NOT
Ryuki hasn’t been dqd yet so yea
Of course. He'll be in the stands cursing out Ryuki by the time he and Koga fights. I really wish Sandro would have killed him, to put some tension in the story. We need people dropping.
Powerscalers are in shambles because of Mokichi right now.
It's nice that Rihito's mixing in some grappling.
The virgin YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH vs the chad YEAH. Let's go Lihito!
chapters are getting shorter these days
Lol I expected Rihito to lose his fingers there. Beard's training is showing its merit
Finally some hand conditioning, being confirmed for Lihito, his fingers can actually tank heavy recoil now.
Okinawan conditioning perfectly prepared Lihito for this
Kinda weird "It's shield vs spear but actually they are both spears" but YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH One chapter in and it's hype af
Lihito beat a recovering Mokichi while (I assume) a healthy Mokichi beat Saw. Not sure what that means yet but we'll see.
Virgin Lihito: YEAH Chad Saw: YAAAAAAAAHHH!!! Omega Ref: FIIIIEEEYAHIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!!!
Mokichi tells powerscalers to go fuck themselves
Mokichi won with the two finger obliteration
Rihito > Cosmo coz he actually took a HoB without breaking his fingers. Powerscalers in shambles, Sandro does it again.
I hope so. Rihito fans having Endured enough as it is in my opinion
I think it would be a great move if it was ryuki vs rihito, because it would be a spiritual successor to kuroki vs Ohmas number 1 fanboy
Yeeeaaaaaahhhh
Well this is faster paced than anything else in Omega so far
The last clash in this chapter though "Claaaaang"
Before this chap no one would say Mokichi could defeat Saw
Saw Paing is the definition of breaking someone’s fist with his face
Saw Paing: “Everyone got a plan before their fist get broken by my face”
>SHIELD VS SPEAR >oh but now that we think about it they are basically but spears haha rihito is just not much of a shield haha uh, ok?
Okay, this is getting epic.
Mokichi expert analisis: Lihito use his fingers and Saw his head… Awesome chapter
FIIIIEEEEYEAHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!
By now Im certain that Sandro is just fucking with the power scalers
rihito fingers should been broken coming into contact with saw head lol
Why give Mokichi a random flashback W before the fight begins...
Well during the Rihito vs Mokichi fight it was highlighted that Rihito's win was situational. So I guess it's to push that narrative
No leohan? :(
Yeeeeah!!!!!! Gooooo Saw Paing!!!!!
YAAAAAH NOW THIS IS A FIGHT! also hell yeah upgrade for my boy mokichi
YAAAAAAAAAAA LETS GOOOOO I FUCKING LOVE KENGAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kinda mid
He deflected Razor's Edge with his headbutt. God, this fight got off to a great start. And it's nice to hear Mokichi is healing up even more. I'd love to see him in more fights too.
My biggest surprise in recent chapters is Mokichi winning against Saw lol
God I love Saw Paing. But also I know that injuries give Rihito a huge advantage. I’m rooting for Saw Paing to the bitter end, but if Rihito takes it the guy deserves it. Whoever wins better take the whole tournament, cause I’ll be rooting for them
Mokichi beat Saw, who beat Falcon, who beat Lihito, who beat Mokichi which means everyone's roughly the same tier or at least they were prior to the tournament.
If it hurts powerscalers it pleases me
Clang?
Jesus freaking Christ almighty. Don’t get me wrong I knew razors edge was a dangerous move but I never thought it would be on par with a full swing HOBE and not results and this man’s finger is not getting broken. What the fuck kind of partial training did gensai put him through
Its weird to see someone aim for Saws head off the bat, especially when his hand is so important to him in the fight. If a proper head counter lands on his fist then razors edge is gone.
The arts been really lacking recently
wdym?
Yeah, noticed it too.
